Final cut pro HD 4.5 is not running on my imac

hi,
i tried to install final cut pro HD 4.5 in my new imac g5 isight and the following message appeared: "Configuration Error This software requires certain hardware or software wich is missing *AGP graphics card"
This means that my mac can't run final cut application ????? is that true???
please help me

Final cut pro x - Title changes are not saved!

Dear Sirs,
I have a big project I am working on in Final cut pro x that contains about 300 subtitles (created with the basic title tool), and now when I make text changes to these titles, quit the program and open the project again those changes are gone....!!! You might not have a compatible video card. It needs to be "OpenCL" compatible. What mac are you using, and what video card? This info is available using the "About this Mac" menu item; click "More Info" to get to the video info.

Final Cut Pro 7 crashed and will not open (only gives unusual error)

Final Cut Pro 7 (from Final Cut Studio 2 installation) crashed sometime yesterday at 8 and any time it was opened it oulde give an error saying that this version of Final Cut wasn't supported by G4 and needed to be upgraded to G5. This is far from true though since it's been working properly and without trouble for about 2 months.
Also, and I'm not sure if it's related or not, but installer.app stopped working after this happened. Of course, I want to know what could have caused this to happen. Could it have been from switching any settings or working with certain HD footage?
It's a MacBook with Snow Leapord if that helps.

yeah, you have to be careful with your terminology, otherwise you start a firestorm.
Given the ONLY information we get in solving issues is what people write, accurate terminology is critical to solving the problem. If people need someone to read their mind, then they should to take their problem into a repair facility where the tech people can directly deal with the machine.

My Final Cut Pro X Trial Version is not working. Please Help!

I downloaded the trial version of Final Cut Pro X yesterday (which is a .dmg file) and when i tried to open it, am message pops up saying it's not recognized. I tried duplication the file then repairing it using Utilities.. But it didn't work. Someone please help me.

I have Final Cut Pro X 10.0.8 and it stopped working under Yosemite. Are there any fixes or work arounds? Oddly enough, my copy of Final Cut Express 4.01 still works!

I did change my Apple ID a few times since 2012 (I kept forgetting it and also wanted to consolidate with my other Apple devices ... )
I actually have Final Cut 10.0.8 installed on two computers. I updated Final Cut on the laptop last year to 10.1 .... but KEPT the old FCP version on the desktop because I liked it.
However, since I updated to Yosemite on the desktop last week, Final Cut 10.8 will not open --- and I don't have an "update option" in the App store.
Will this happen on my laptop if I update to Yosemite? That device is running Mountain Lion, I think. But I would hate to also lose Final Cut 10.1 ... it's all I seem to have left.
Do I have to purchase Final Cut again for both computers? Thanks very much for your help, it is very appreciated!

Final Cut Pro X 10.0.07 not working with Mountain Lion?

I have just installed Mountain Lion on my computer two weeks ago, and just now I needed to use Final Cut Pro X 10.0.7 to edit a video for a client.
Every time I open FCPX it doesn't open normally. It doesn't bring up it's normal purple background, just the wording. And when it opens and I scroll over a video, it won't bring it up in the viewer.
When I go to import footage, it opens the import window but it's just a grey screen.
What can I do? I need to have FCPX working by tonight!

Use FCS Remover to trash the app and try reinstalling it.

I just clicked update in Final Cut Pro X and am now not seeing projects I had worked on. Any chance I still have them?

While importing new media, I clicked on "update" library - and now can't see projects I had worked on previously. Anyone tell me if they are still there and where to find them?

You will have to navigate your way to them.
Select File>Open Library and you will probably see them listed.
If not, click on "Other" and navigate to them.

I can't update my final Cut Pro, it says I did not purchase the software

I'm trying to update to 10.0.3 and I can't do it through the app store because for some reason it says I did not purchase the app. If thats true then why do I have a receipt....

Make sure that you're in the App Store "Updates" area.
If you're in the FCPX Appp Store page, then it will ask you to purchase again.
I had an issue where the App Store was telling me that FCP was alrady installe don this computer. Well no duh?
I trashed the FCPX app and then hit update again, adn all went fine.

Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 will not launch - crashes

Hello All,
Has anyone heard of any issues with FCP X and FCP 7 (FCS) running on the same hard disk, but NOT at the same time?
I have been running (for months) using FCP 7 and FCP X, without problems.
Just 3 days ago, FCP 7 will attempt to launch, but halts as it displays the "Reading Video" dialog window - and will not complete reading
the video files. I have tried trashing the preferences, I have the same issue, the program halts, but this time at the dialog where you
choose the scratch disk, and the video format, etc.
My system was recently updated with FCP X ( to 10.0.0.8), compressor, etc.
I have a raid system for the video files - this is ok.
I had the same issue before on a different hard disk.I removed the hard disk, installed a new disk, and restored the system from a cloned backup disk
and all was well until tonight, when FCP 7 started crashing (displaying a crash log).
I am running Lion, 10.7.5, Intel 2.66 8 core, 24GB memory. FCP X runs ok.
Any ideas here?

I have never heard of any problems using both apps and I do it myself.
I am sure the problem lies somewhere in your computer setup or FCP 7 so I suggest you try trashing the preferences again with Preference Manager.
Also open Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions.
If this doesn't work, use FCS Remover to uninstall just the FCP 7 app and reinstall it from the installation DVD ....... it should only take 5 minutes.

Final Cut Pro 7 Serial Number does not work

After the latest Apple Update my FCP program puts up a requestor box wanting the serial number. When I put the number in the box says Incorrect. I've tried everything like changing 0 to O to copy and pasting and keying in. Nothing works. What did Apple do in the last update to screw up FCP?

We have see a few related posts, try searching for serial number.
I assue you, nothing was perpetrated by Apple during the recent ProApp updates. You can usually download them as a stand alone installer instead of getting them as an automatic script.

Final cut pro video in 4:3, not wanted.

hi i am a FCP noob but i have created a video and the settings are: 2048x1556 at 23.98p and the video looks fine in the preview but when i go to full screen it goes to 4:3 and the same happenswhen i export it too. any help?

FCP only edits video in standard video frame resolutions. You can see them in the list of custom settings for a project.
Your media isn't in one of those formats so it's being made to fit into one of them. You have to select one that works for you and fit the media into that.

Send to - Final Cut Pro XML data not seeing my Color render

As always I did some lurking on these boards and consulted the manual about this issue.

I've rendered my shots. They were all queued. They were all rendered.
When I use the Send to -> Final Cut Pro command I get the "not all your clips were rendered" warning. I click yes to see what I will get.
FCP imports the XML data and I get nothing. All of the clips in my FCP timeline generated through the Send to -> Final Cut Pro command are all of my original media prior to my color workflow. Not my graded Color renders.
I did move my renders from a local drive to an external because of data capacity. After doing so I did update my Media, Render and Project paths to the new location of my media.
I thought that would fix my problem. It didnt.
So again: my issue is that even with my shots all rendered correctly (i checked them in QT) the XML being sent to FCP through the Send to -> Final Cut Pro command is not hooking up with my renders.

If I'm following the sequence correctly, you rendered your material to a local drive. Then you moved it, changed the paths (in COLOR), and then tried to "Send to... FCP". Is this correct? If so, doomed to failure. In your case, you may have even moved an empty folder.
There is an ironclad and non-negotiable series of events in rendering and initiating the roundtrip. Many users regard this as a "bug". One of the first things that a user should always do is set up all the target paths before even doing the first grade. But it is essential that the target render path be set up PRIOR to loading the Render Queue. COLOR creates the receiving folder at that time, and that is where the media will go no matter what you do after the RenderQueue is loaded. Change the path, change the format... change whatever you want... the deal has been done, and all will be ignored. However, once the media is rendered and you choose Send To... FCP, then the original XML that FCP sent will be modified by COLOR and passed back to Final Cut. COLOR does NOT,repeat, NOT generate EDLs, XMLs, or any of that stuff. It only modifies original lists. That you modified the Media, Render and Project paths (probably only in the User Preferences tab) is meaningless once the project has been rendered. The Render path for this individual project is determined in the Project Settings pane, along with the render dimensions and format. However, COLOR will observe a path change AFTER the render, and edits the XML re-export to try to find the media in the newly named directory. Of course, your media is actually elsewhere, and you get a blank sequence.
Lastly, make sure that you SAVE the project after renders, to retain the "rendered" clip status -- or COLOR won't remember any of this.
