Final Cut Pro "send to YouTube" fails.

I have been successful previous times in exporting from final cut pro x to YouTube until a few weeks ago. Now my 10 minute videos process for upwards of 3 hours and near the end it says upload failed. I then grab my project that successfully rendered (but didn't upload) out of my projects shared folder and have to manual upload this myself. The video is around 1.5 gb and it still takes YouTube 2-3 hours to upload. It has been much faster before. Its not a problem with my freaking fast Internet because every other uploading page flys.
I'm thinking this might be a problem with youtubes interface overhaul. Can anyone tell me if they're experiencing the same problems and if there's a planned update for fcp or YouTube to make them work between each other again?

I do it exactly the way you do it. Export the video using "RealTime Conversion" . The videos must be less than 10min though. When you import to YouTube, it does seem to take a while per video though.
Good luck !!

  • I'm having trouble sharing my final cut pro project on youtube

I worked really hard on a project on Final cut pro, version 10.0.8, and when I was done I shared it on youtube. The first problem was when it started putting a message saying that the operation failed because of an error. I thought it was because my laptop was turned off (sleep). I kept it on, and tried again, and several times and there comes the second problem. It won't move to more than 50%. I cancel it and try again and it instantly starts at 50%, and won't move. it's a 246 MB file btw. I exported it on my desktop but it was a 1.50 GB file, so it would take LOTS of time to upload on youtube. I want to upload it directly on youtube but the loading stays on 50%! I have no idea why this is happening, can someone PLEASE help me? Thank you!
I have a Macbook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Hard to tell from the description whether it's a FCP or YT issue.
You were able to export to your Desktop, so that's encouraging.
You should be able to get a smaller file by selecting H.264 in the Settings pane of the Master File export dialog. For format, choose Web Hosting. Se if that exports completely and uploads properly.

  • Final Cut Pro X share operation failed

Recent error message when sharing to custom compressor settings stating Share operation [project name] Failed (com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.). Unsure why 30sec 720 x 576, 16:9 won't share to custom settings 1024 x 576, 1:1. Always has in the past. No change in filetype or codec. Any guesses? Have emptied render files etc..

Update to 10.0.9 and see whether it's fixed.

  • Final cut pro export to youtube too lagre

Although I used the FCPX-tool to create and upload a 8-min-HD-film, the upload ended, because the filesize was too large. Does the tool not reduce filesize & quality to create files which are accepted by YouTube?

I tried exporting a 20min film to youtube and vimeo and kept receiving the message that the file size was too large. I also exported in quicktime format and then tried to upload to youtube but had the same problem.

  • YouTube "Share" on Perpetual "Waiting" status for Final Cut Pro X

Until recently, I was able to export direct from Final Cut Pro X to YouTube.  Now I'm getting a "Waiting" message that never resolves.  I’ve tried waiting more than an hour - and this is for just a 90-second video!  I've seen some talk about this same problem from others on the internet.  Did something change recently with YouTube that affects my ability to ‘share’ directly from Finale Cut?  What’s the best solution or work-around?
    Here's what I'm seeing:
    Thanks in advance!
    DHC

Thanks - but when I try that I get an error message telling me to go buy compressor from the Apple Store.
Please note that up until a week or so ago, I was able to "share" easily from Final Cut Pro X directly into YouTube.  All I want to do is what I was able to do then, and which suddenly seems to not work.

  • Final Cut Pro X, Export to Youtube fail says, QuickTime Error: -50

Im having trouble with Final Cut Pro X every time I try to export my project to Youtube a quarter way through processing it stops and says QuickTime Error: -50  How do I fix this?

I'm going to guess that you have a problematic clip(s) that FCP isn't happy with. Is your project all from the same source (camera, download, rip, etc
Also, how long is your project? There was a recent post where I was convinced that he had a corrupted clip and it turned out simply that the file size was too big.
But your error code indicates clip trouble.

  • Failed to send my project in final cut pro to compressor

I tried to send my project in final cut pro to compressor but when I go to file then see send to compressor it will not let me click on "send to compressor". I checked but none of my files are missing or anything and the project is only 4 minutes long. This has happened to me once before and it completely crashed my computer. I had to start out fresh which was a horrible process. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP?! (URGENT)What might I have done wrong that this happens? In the picture below, this happens and I have no idea why that is.

    I suspect it's a FCP X issue rather than a Compressor issue.
Will FCP export a master file? Make a short section with the range tool and find out.
Tri reseting the zoo's preferences. Hold down the option and command keys when you launch to reset.

  • Help uploading to youtube from final cut pro x

I just updated to final cut pro x. when i try to upload a video to youtube i get this message no linked youtube account, even though I have a youtube channel and it works well when i connect on safari. how can i fix this? please help

It seems most of the time with these upload failures that problem turns out to be intermittent and on  You Tube's end of things. (That is assuming that the encoding part of the process  was successful.)So try it again after a while and see if things go better.
In the mean time, if you look in the Shared Items folder in your project folder, you should find the file that FCP had encoded. That file can be uploaded using YT's uploader.
In my limited experience (since I don't do frequent YT uploading) the most reliable workflow is to export a master file, bring that into Compressor to encode to YT's specs and upload using their installer. Although I have  sometimes used FCP to upload, I prefer the additional control over settings that Compressor provides. I also have had fails from FCP and I don't recall ever having one when I upload directly.

  • How do you mark a section from the timeline to send to Compressor 4 using Final Cut Pro X?

I am trying to send just a certain piece from the Timeline to Compressor 4 using Final Cut Pro X and I can't figure it out. Please help!

    jakelovesanna wrote:
The video itself is intirely 5 minutes, but the timeline goes to 24 hrs.
    24 hours?
If you select the timeline and press Shift+Z do you see a lot of black space in the timeline? If so, you may have a huge gap clip (although I fail to understand how you achieved it). Click on it and if it can be selected, delete it with the Backspace Key (next to the = key).
    Then press Shift+Z again.
If I've got this wrong, can you post a screen grab of your timeline?

  • When sending job from Final Cut Pro to Compressor using local QCluster

When sending job from Final Cut Pro to Compressor by way of Share and using the local QCluster, the audio renders, but the video errors out saying something along the lines of Can not locate file.
If I use 'This Computer' it works fine.
    What gives?
Fresh install of OS and FCS.
    Thanks!

I'm just learning the intricacies of Compressor and Qmaster myself, but I have learned that when you use Qmaster you can not share directly from FCP. You must export a Quicktime movie (reference movie seems to be fine) and input that to Compressor. This is only an issue when using Qmaster, as you've seen.

  • Send to Final Cut Pro in Color off an external Hard Drive, causes Color to Crash

Okay, so I'm having some Color issues guys...
I'm color correcting a feature right now, and just completed the CC with Color. I did the entire color correct on an internal hard drive on a Mac Pro. My client wanted to take a look at the CC on a different machine, so I transferred all of the FCP files, Color Projects, footage, etc. (the ENTIRE directory from my machine) onto an external hard drive....
...When I opened the color project from the external drive on his machine, all of my media was gone, so of course I reconnected the media (directly from the source, the same source files I edited with in FCP), and everything was fine. My grades were there, and everything looked great....
....I rendered my Color sequence and tried to Send To Final Cut Pro, and color crashed on me. It continued to do this....
....I went back to my machine and tried to Send To Final Cut Pro, and everything worked just fine. What went wrong with the data transfer? Is that the reason Color keeps crashing? Is it because I relinked the footage in Color to the original source files? It doesn't make sense to me. All of the data from the original drive was moved to an external and relinked.
I'm pretty new to Color so any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!
    -Chris

Copy the original project and media to the external drive using Media Manager. It will maintain the links.

  • Final cut pro dvd fails to share

Over the past few months Final Cut Pro Share DVD fails most of the time. I tried restarting the program and my mac to no avail. I end up moving the video to my macbook and sharing the dvd on it. I am running OX 10.9.5  Final Cut Pro 10.1.3.

The error message seemed to indicate an encoding problem – apparently to DVD specs. See id you can verify this by choosing Output Device>Hard Drive  in Settings in export dialog.  If it fails, leave FCP open and go inside the library bundle and open up the Shared Items folder. If there is an m2v file and  an AC3 file, drag them to the Desktop to save them from being deleted when FCP is closed down.
Let us know what you find out.
