Final Cut Pro update

Question

Hello,
First I've tried the Software Update to see if anything needed updating. In my Apps folder, FCP is listed as version 5.0. I know there's 5.0.4 update out now. I went to the Apple site to download the update, but when tried, it tells me that this update was already downloaded. So, I ask all of you, why is it showing 5.0 and not 5.0.4 in the Apps folder? And how do I remedy this?

Take a look in /library/receipts
Are there any files there that are names something like 'FinalCutPro504.pkg'?
This is a file that tells the Apple web site you already have the file so you don't need the update.
What happens if you go to the downloads section of the support area and simply download and run the update rather than using the 'software update' path?

about halfway down the page is the FCP5 update installer. Try downloading and running it.
If you get a message that you already have this verison of FCP installed, delete the receipt and try again.
Of course, the other alternative is that FCP doesn't report the x.x.x increments in the splash screen or 'about' dialog boxes ... I know quicktime does though.... humm.
