Final cut Pro video exporting

Final Cut video exporting stuck in 5% and I don't know what to do .

Cancel the export.
Go to Preferences and turn off Background Rendering.
Select your project in the library and in the File menu, click on Delete project RENDER Files; choose All when prompted. Select your event and do the same with the event RENDER files. In the project use the range tool to select a short section. Try to export that as a test. Don't render before you export.
If that doesn't work, copy the project and paste it into a fresh project. Try another export test.
Good luck.

  • Final Cut Pro X Export Speed Problems

I'm having problems getting any real processor speed out of my Final Cut Pro X exports. Whether I do a direct native Pro Res export straight from FCPX or send to compressor with the same settings, or even change them to H.264 or something else, i more often get processing that looks like the included picture, barely one processor being tapped. Sometimes ill get 50 percent which is probably all direct export is meant to use, seems like Qmaster distributed processing still doesn't work here. Once i get the file out and then bring that into Compressor 4 I get no issues, can get 50 percent with regular submit and full speed all cores running with Quickcluster submit. Any ideas why this is happening?
Just to be clear, these are native ProRes HQ clips, no effects, nothing, just selects I'm trying output, and since we can't do reference clips anymore, well....

TThe most common cause of this problem is that the media hasn't been imported properly and is still referencing a camera card or archive. If you press Cmd-E and no dialog appears, this can be one cause.
BTw, this is primarily a user to user forum, so no one here really cares if you go and use Premiere.

  • How does final cut pro x export a file if it has not finished rendering?

How does final cut pro x export a file if it has not finished rendering?
So today I finished a project: Share >Export > as a pro res 422 and I'm now burning with iDVD as we speak. FCPX is still doing background rendering! I hope my DVD turns out ok....

You don't need to render before export.
    Rendering is for playback.
If your project plays OK from the storyline, you can safely turn off rendering in preferences.

  • Final cut pro X export files bigger than originals

I got two WMV files, each file size about 500mbs, I converted them to mp4 using permute. Afther converting, each file size about 490mbs.
Then I open the mp4 files with final cut pro, I just want to mend the two clips together, it's that simple. I finish puting the clips adjacent to each other. Then hit export and chose encoding method .h264.
When final cut finished exporting, the movie is over 4GB in size.
Why is it so big ? the orginal files combined size is just about 1 GB.

  • Final Cut Pro- Video stops exporting at 33% in H.264 format to a USB.

I have made a video using Final Cut Pro which is 51 minutes in length. Some of the clips were filmed using iPhones, whereas some of the clips were filmed using a Sony phone. The clips have all been placed together using Final Cut Pro and effects+music have been added. When I try to export the video to a USB in the format of H.264, it reaches 33% then just disappears from the background processes box. I have repeatedly tried to export the video to different places to see if the USB was the issue, but it keeps stopping at 33%. I looked at a forum which said some people had an issue whereby they found a clip which was dodgy and had to be deleted for the video to successfully export. I tried to delete the correct video clip to see if that worked, and the export then reached 37% but then stopped. The issue could be that the clips filmed on the Sony phone have to be deleted in order for the video to successfully export, however I would rather not delete all of the clips as they are an important part of the video. Also, the video must be able to play on a TV so I have some USBs which are 16GB as the video is 8.9GB. But is H.264 the correct format? Please help!

That depends on the television set (s). There is no universal standard. Definitely check the TV manual (s).

  • Final Cut Pro X export troubles: exports video with only half the audio.

Ever since I updated Final Cut Pro X, I've been having problems exporting. I either get error messages or the audio doesn't fully export. When I tried exporting a master file to my desktop, I got a message saying “error occurred when creating frame” then lists the frame number. Someone suggested copying the project file and pasting it into a new project. I did that, and it exported without the error popping up; but halfway through the video, the audio disappears, and does so in the same spot it disappeared in a previous youtube export before I tried the copy/paste method. I don't have the original footage; I'm making color correction changes to an edit; so I'm not sure if the second half of the video is somehow corrupted, don't know how to check that, and not sure what to do if it is.
Another suggestion given to me was to delete the event my footage is in, then create a new event, re-upload all the footage into that one, and relink my project files to it. He also said don't delete my event and project folder at the same time, which I'm not even sure how you simultaneously delete two things on a laptop. I don't understand how this method would work though, since deleting the event makes my project disappear since it has nothing to link to. I'm scared to try this method since I don't want to lose my work; I really don't want to color correct it all over again.
Is there any way to successfully export the file suitable for youtube posting, or is this a bug in the system they haven't fixed yet?

    Just turned off background rendering.
I'm not certain what you mean for specs in a specific point in the video, but here are the specs for the entire edit I initially received:
    Dimensions: 1920 X 1080
    Codecs: H.264, AAC, Timecode
    2 Audio Channels
    Total bit rate: 12,083
Size: 951,735,770 bytes (951.7 MB on disk)
Here are the specs for the exported video that has the audio issue:
    Dimensions: 1920 X 1080
    Codecs: H.264, AAC, Timecode
    2 Audio Channels
    Total bit rate: 12,274
Size: 966,817,082 bytes (966.8 MB on disk)
The video is 10:28 minutes long and the audio leaves at 5:57.
If that wasn't what you were looking for, just let me know. I'm not very good with technical stuff sometimes so may have misunderstood.
Is there something I should have done to the piece before I began color correcting it, like transcoding?

  • Final Cut Pro X Exported Video Size

I've recently bought Final Cut Pro X and use it for editing videos before uploading to YouTube.  I used to export my videos from iMovie as a .mov file to my hard drive to then manually upload to YouTube.  There doesn't seem to be this option in Final Cut, so I've taken to using the YouTube share feature but it never uploads so I just manually upload the .mov file that it saves somewhere in the Final Cut shared files folder.
The problem I have is that I export a 720P file so assumed that the video size would be 1280 x 720, it always was with iMove.  I've found that Final Cut spits out the video at 1248 x 702 and this is quite annoying as it sometimes cuts off the top and bottom of a video.  Is there any reason why it does this or any way to get it to export at the correct display size?

How can I change the size? Normally I export at 720P in iMovie and the video and format are both 1280 x 720.  I did a screencast using Quicktime and due to the change in display size it's chopped off the toolbar at the top and a small portion of the dock.  I've had to resize the clip in Final Cut to 95% of the original size to get it to fit in the 1248 x 702 size that it chooses to put it in.
As this was only a screencast the file size tends to be this small, but normally I shoot at full HD on my camcorder and the video can be about 10 mins in length.  I used the export media function and the resulting file was about 8GB in size!  iMovie would typically give me a .mov file anywhere between 700MB - 1.5GB depedning on the length of the video and that suited me fine, but there doesn't seem to be any way to get it that small using the Export Media.  Not much of a problem really coz I'm fine using the YouTube share option to get what I want.

  • Final Cut Pro X exports video clip as black

    Hi Everyone,
I have a big problem, I'm trying to export a project with many HD clips, the first of which is the only one being shot as AVCHD on a Sony DSLR and converted to .mov by Voltaic HD because otherwise I can't import it in Final Cut Pro X. The rest of the clips are directly imported from another camera, no conversion.
The first clip (the one I had to convert) plays and gets edited fine within FCPX, but after I export the whole project, all the part that had that clip is just black picture with no sound. My titles, photos in the meantime are still there, but otherwise all black until the next clips show up.
The sources clips are hd1080p but I'm trying to export the project as 720p. My FCPX version is 10.0.9. I've edited videos from the same source and conversion before and never had this problem.
So now I just took the same single clip into a new project and exported it at 720p and there it just works fine ... Arrrghh!! How can I fix this?

I am having an almost identical problem:
Trying to export (doesn’t matter to what: Master File, Apple Device, etc. all lead to the same result) the project I am working on is producing a black screen with no audio (for the length of the project) – only the start and end titles get rendered.
The project plays fine in FCP X 10.0.9; the initial screen on the export dialog produces a correct looking screenshot (with both the picture and title visible), and predicts realistic sizes for the export file, which ends up being tiny by comparison.
Other projects with a similar workflow are exporting fine: basically I have shot a couple of concerts, and each project is one song with start and end credits and some color correction, stabilization, etc.
The source was 1080P video from a Canon SLR 5D Mark III, and it is being exported to 1080P -- however, I don't think that's relevant, because video from the same source to the same export files worked fine before - FCP X can obviously handle the format involved.
I tried deleting the FCP X preferences -- didn’t help. I had already tried deleting the render files.
    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

  • Final Cut Pro X -- Export is Low Quality?

I'm wondering about some of the behavior on export with Final Cut Pro X.
While editing my videos, I set preferences to 'use proxy media' to make playback smoother.
However, when I go to export the video as a high-quality 1080p file it's clear that Final Cut is using the proxy files to make this video -- rather defeating the point of exporting at 1080p.  Now, it's not a problem if I switch playback in preferences from 'use proxy media' to 'use high quality media' -- then the export is actually high quality.
My question is this: is final cut supposed to work this way?  Why on Earth would it not default to use the highest quality files when exporting?  It's not a huge deal, but it is annoying when I spend several hours exporting a project only to find out at the end that I accidently left playback on 'proxy media' and have to restart the process.

I've read a few threads on this issue.  Are you using the share feature or exporting to compressor? My understanding is when you export you need to set to original or optimize setting in preference.

  • Final Cut Pro 7 export drops frames

I exported a video from Final Cut Pro 7 to a Quicktime .mov file.  The file plays fine on a mac, but when I try to play it on a pc it drops frames throughout the video.  I have other .mov files on this pc also exported from fcp7 that play just fine. Please advise.  Thanks.

If you are talking about the Canvas and Viewer windows... make sure that their size is set at FIT TO WINDOW Top left button in the viewer and canvas window.

  • Final Cut Pro X Exporting to Youtube with Canon 5D Mark ii

    Hi,
I'm having problems exporting to Youtube with Final Cut Pro X. i convert the file and upload, but the audio is not syncing properly. The video is fine. Any tips on what to do? I'm using a Canon 5 D Mark ii. 24fps, 1080
Also does anyone know where the audio setting are on FCPX?
    Thanks

    Hi aussiearn
The process you suggested worked beautifully: images clear and true sound accurate.
I have over 100 30 to 60-minute videos to put on a client's YouTube channel. Using the YouTube settings in Compressor my first uploads colours were looking washed out, and the audio progressively slipped when played via the Safari browser. Your advice has fixed this issue, so thank you for taking the time to post.
To clarify what I understood your process to be for others who may wish to use it:
In FCPX choose 'Share' from the menu bar
    Select 'Export Media'
In the options presented: 'Export' should be set to 'Video and Audio'; 'Video codec' as H.264; 'Audio file format' will be greyed out but show Quicktime Movie; 'Open with' will show 'QuickTime Player.app (default)'. Click 'Next'.
You'll be presented with 'Save As' options. Name the file and select where you want it to go on your drive(s), and click 'Save'.
Export will begin: my 6.84GB video, which was 45-minutes of 1920 x 1080 at 23.98fps, took about 35 minutes using a Macbook Pro 2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB of RAM
When the export is complete the video should automatically open in QuickTime.
Within QuickTime go to 'File' on the menu bar and choose 'Export for Web', which is at the bottom of the drop-down menu
You'll be presented with a box that says 'Export versions of your movie optimized for web-delivery to iPhone and the desktop'. Pick what you want to name the file in the 'Export as' and then where you want it to go in 'Where' (obviously enough). You can save in three versions for different contexts, but I chose only to save as 'Broadband', with the best quality as YouTube will automatically create different versions later. Click 'Export'.
An 'Export Progress' box should appear. My file took around 45-minutes to process.
At the end of the process you will find a folder with your chosen name, rather than a file. Click on tha folder, then click on the 'Resources' Folder you will find in side. Amongst other files you'll find a .m4v file with 'broadband' at the end of the name. Rename the file and change the suffix '.m4v' to '.mp4' and upload to YouTube.
As you said this seems to save a lot of time compared to compressor (perhaps half the time?) The file that began the process at 6.84 GB ended as 1.16 GB, and looks and sounds great.
    Thank you,
    Nigel

  • Why won't Final Cut Pro X export in 1080P

I'm trying to export video in 1080P in Final Cut Pro X 10.1.4. Every time I click the share button it says I'm exporting in 720P. I tried to change it to 1080P and its greyed out. I even tried click share to Apple device in 1080P still 720. I verified all the clips are 1080P. I've never had this problem before its always just done it. Heres a screenshot of the share screen.

    D-OH! Headslapper!
I have those. Every day. Thanks for posting your solution instead of just letting it go. Hardly anyone closes their threads around here and it really helps those who come after, those looking for similar issues.

  • Final Cut Pro Videos

I am using Final Cut Pro to edit my videos and the files are so big that after I export using QuckTime Conversison it takes forever to uplaod to YouTube. Does anyone know something I can do to upload videos faster?

I do it exactly the way you do it. Export the video using "RealTime Conversion" . The videos must be less than 10min though. When you import to YouTube, it does seem to take a while per video though.
    Good luck !!
