Hallo
Ich habe mit meiner Conture GPS einen Movie erstellt nun möchte ich die GPS auswertungen in meinen Movie einfügen. Wie kann ich dies mit Final Cut erstellen ?
Falls dies nicht geht, gibt es alternative Programme für den Mac.?
Ich kenne nur Dashware, dies geht jedoch exklusive für Windows

Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 problems importing 12fps movies

I open an Image Sequence in QuickTime Pro 7 and save it as a movie at 12 fps.
I import that movie into Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 in a sequence with timebase of 24fps.
Problem : the first frame of the movie appears only on 1 frame instead of 2, and the last frame appears on 3 frames instead of 2.
Anyone else seeing this problem?
My work around is to make a 1 frame Freeze Frame of the first frame and add it at the head of the movie and then delete the third copy of the final frame. It's a tiresome work around though because I'm making animated films and have hundreds of these clips to bring in to Final Cut.

Sharon, very sorry, I apparently have mislead you. Still sequences I do in Motion. There may be other ways of grabbing still sequences. The exported movie relies on frame rate of the composition.
After Effects does it, too.

When you import a sequence of still images, it assumes the frame rate specified by the Sequence Footage preference in the Import category. The default rate is 30 frames per second (fps). You can change the frame rate after importing by reinterpreting the footage item:
Select the sequence in the Project panel, choose File > Interpret Footage > Main, and then enter a new value for Assume This Frame Rate.

Final cut pro audio missing from clip once i move it from viewer to canvass?

hi i'm new to final cut pro 7, when i play my video in the viewer i can hear the audio loud and clear however when i'm move it to the canvass and play it in the time line the audio is gone? can someone pls help me

Probably best to ask this questio in the FINAL CUT STUDIO forum and not the FCPX forum, BUT -- since you're here...
Make sure that the AUDIO PATCHES are connected to the timeline... those are the pluggy arrow type looking things on the left side of the timeline. With the clip in the viewer window add it into the timeline. Audio should come with it.
Or - do you already SEE the audio tracks on the timeline and you just can't hear it? (if that's the case, try opening the audio mixer and making sure the master volume is up.

The document "P1030596.MOV" could not be opened. Final Cut Pro cannot open files in the "QuickTime movie" format. REALLY !

How are you trying to open it? You are not supposed to open these files in FCP X by dragging them onto to the dock, or using "open with" in the Finder. That will lead to the aforementioned message.
Instead, you drag them into an Event inside FCP X.

Can I move video files from Final Cut Pro to iMovie?

I've used iMovie forever, and I just bought Final Cut Pro. I uploaded video for a new movie into FCP, but I have an urgent need to get this movie done and don't have time to learn Final Cut Pro to do it. Can I move my video files from FCP over to iMovie 10.0.6? Or do I need to reload the raw video to iMovie?

No you will have to import your clips again into iMovie 10. Projects can only be transferred from iMovie 10 to FCPX and not the other way.

Import movie from final cut pro x in pinnacle studio ?

today i make movies with pinnacle studio (windows)
i have pc with blu ray burner in pc (built in)
i would like to buy mac with final cut pro x
is it possible to make movie (high definition) in finacl cut pro x and export to a format which can be imported in pinnacle studio (version 14) without loss of quality
then i would like to burn blu ray on my pc with pinnacle studio
so : make movie with mac and burn HD movie on pc ?

It'd be easier to get Toast 11 Pro and author/burn Blu Ray on your Mac.
BUT, that's extra money you may not want to spend.
Pinnecle, does it import XML files? Well, that may not work anyway.
You'll have to export a QT movie in FCP X that Pinnacle will read.

Does anyone know how to change .mov to a supported file extension (and what extension would you suggest)? .mov works on Apperture 3.0 so I thought it would work on Final Cut Pro X....

Does anyone know how to easily change a .mov file extension to one of the accepted Final Cut Pro X extensions? I thought since .mov worked in Aperture 3.0 it should work on FCP X. Thanks

I am now doing some 1 minute import tests from various Q/T's
They are all in the same place on an External 1 TB Western Digital - connected by Firewire 800
I have just imported some 1 minute tests from other Q/T 's and they have imported Ok - quickly imported and transcoded etc fine and quickly.
Using your suggested methd of getting the details using Quicktime 7 Movie Inspector I can see NO DIFFERENCE in the formats! In fact with four of these files open I can click on each in turn and see the Inspector details for each in turn - and only the name, size etc changes - not the format!
I am really upset and confused by this as I have been trying for the last four days to get these imported. I realise that this is small potatoes to those who are having problems with even FCP 7 Files! But, these are q/t's of 30 hours worth of unique reserahc material I shot in Africa. I have made several programmes from this material before (one even shown on Discovery!) I WAS hoping that I could use the new and all singing FCPX to make some new programmes for teaching purposes
But, how can I do that if only some will import? As I posted elsehwre - i get the message "No importable files"

Final Cut Pro not under "Purchases"

I bought Final Cut Pro this summer and I want to move the app onto my new computer, but when I go in the App Store it does not show up under "Purchases." I already deleted FCP off my old computer so I'm stuck with nothing. i checked other posts but none of those seem to help. Does anyone know how I can redownload FCP without having to repurchase the app?

If you are logged into the App Store with the Apple ID and password that was used to purchase and the application does not appear on the Purchases page you need to contact the App Store.

Cant export videos in Final cut pro 10

Whenever i try to export a movie ive done in Final cut pro nothing happens. I click ''Export movie'' and nothing happens. Then if i try to make it with Media Browser or Apple Devicesi get this error ''The operation couldn't be completed. (com.apple.compressor.compressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1)''.
I'm running Final cut pro x 10.0 on a mac book pro OS X.

I had this problem a month ago, just using my newest Mac with all updated versions of my software and after skimming the net and trying everything, also this support forum and than after pulling out all of my hair, I just tried something that worked:
I made a whole new library, event and project and just copied all my 10 smaller films into a new timeline in this new event. So just copy paste from the original timelines into 10 new projects. And than it worked!
This forum explained that it probably was an corrupt project. An earlier poster had mentioned deleting some files, he thought where corrupt, that helped for him.

AH...good.
There is no limit on the times you can install it from the DVDs. There's just a limit as to being able to run it on multiple machines AT THE SAME TIME. If your old computer dies, or you sell it (please reformat the drive so they don't get FCP for free), then you can install on a new computer fine. And you are allowed to install on (1) desktop and (1) laptop at the same time as well...but only use it on one machine at any given time. Meaning you can use it on the desktop at work, and then when away from the office, on your laptop.
Long story short...you can install it fine without any issues.

Final Cut Pro X stürzt beim Rendern ab

Hi liebe Community,
habe seit kurzem ein Problem beim Rendern von Filmdateien bei Final Cut Pro X.
Wenn ich die Arbeit kurz ruhen lasse und FCP mit Rendern beginnt, hängt es sich jedes Mal auf und beendet sich.
Wenn ich das Programm nicht rendern lasse, läuft es ganz normal.
Genügend Speicherplatz auf der Festplatte ist vorhanden, auch der Arbeitsspeicher dürfte mit 16 GB groß genug sein.
Das Problem besteht entweder seit der letzten Systemaktualisierung oder seit ich ein paar Projektdateien und Ereignisse auf eine externe Festplatte gezogen habe (damit Final Cut nicht so vollgestopft ist).
Man muss sagen, dass das aktuelle Projekt relativ aufwendig ist, mit viel Animation und Schriften etc., sodass viel zu rendern ist. Es ist auch nur das eine Projekt, die anderen lassen sich problemlos rendern.
Was kann ich mit dem Projekt jetzt machen? Ich muss es immer wieder wiedergeben können, um zu sehen, was ich da so fabriziere...

I did exactly what you told me but at first it didn't solve my problem. I needed the whole project to be rendered and when I did it again FCP crashed. So I tried again: 1. deleted all render files 2. deleted the render files of all final cut events too (just to try if it helped) 3. startet rendering the project clip by clip -> marked a few clips of the project and rendered them until the whole project was fully rendered.
And now it works!
I don't know why but maybe it was too much to render for the application??
At least I know now how to solve the problem. Thank you for your help!
It's a very extensive (hope this is the right description) project so I am going to leave the background rendering turned off. Hopefully I can complete the project without further problems...

Codec for Final Cut Pro

I am converting a DVCPro video tape using a tape copy service (my tape drive died). I plan to import the DVD file into our PowerMac with Final Cut Pro 5.0 to break the DVD file into smaller modules. I can have the service create either a compressed .AVI file (DivX or Cinepak codec) or a compressed .FLV file. My video editor would prefer an AVI file as he is more familiar with that format.
Which of these files would be best to use? For the .AVI file, which codec? I am unfamiliar with what codec my equipment uses, and can't seem to find it anywhere in my documentation.

AVI is a container, just like .mov. The video inside can be any one of a number of codecs.
Final Cut Pro does not work with DivX, CinePak or FLV.
You need your file as a .mov using one of the codecs found in FCP's Easy Setup menu.
Do not use an outside facility. Hire a deck and capture in Final Cut Pro. Capturing on a different NLE and exporting a format that Final Cut Pro does not natively work with is fraught with problems and asking for trouble. It will only cost more money, more time and end in tears.
