Final Cut Pro X share operation failed

Recent error message when sharing to custom compressor settings stating Share operation [project name] Failed (com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.). Unsure why 30sec 720 x 576, 16:9 won't share to custom settings 1024 x 576, 1:1. Always has in the past. No change in filetype or codec. Any guesses? Have emptied render files etc..

Update to 10.0.9 and see whether it's fixed.

  • Final Cut Pro X share fails with QuickTime Error -50

    Hello!
I'm facing a very annoying issue when trying to share my project from Final Cut Pro X. It used to work perfectly fine but now I'm getting consistently "QuickTime Error -50" after FCPX exported about 10% of my project. This can be reproduced with other project as well - one time I was able to export by restarting my machine but not anymore.
My configuration is a Mac Pro early 2008 with a ATI Radeon 5770. The only recent change I did to my config was to upgrade my old graphic cards to the Radeon 5770: do you think this can be the cause of this error?
    Thanks for any help,
    Jean

I am also expriencing the same error. Tried every solution listed so far:
    1. Switch off background rendering. Trash render files. Don't render. Export.
    2. copying the project within Final Cut Pro into another project
    3. remove the following folder: Library > Application Support > ProApps > MIO > RADPlugins > XDCAMFormat.RADPlug
Nothing worked. I try to export to Vimeo, YouTube, and master. All error right at 9%
    What's going on?

  • HT4775 Final cut pro tab share does not work with mountain lion V10.8

I have upgraded to mountain lion and since  than the tab share in final cut pro X is not working anymore.
    Any suggestions???  Thanks

Trash preferences and repair permissions in Disk Utility.
If that doesn't free Share up I'd drag app to trash, reinstall it and run repair permissions again.
    Good luck.

BTW, not that it matters a lot, but this is the Compressor forum.

  • Final Cut Pro "send to YouTube" fails.

I have been successful previous times in exporting from final cut pro x to YouTube until a few weeks ago. Now my 10 minute videos process for upwards of 3 hours and near the end it says upload failed. I then grab my project that successfully rendered (but didn't upload) out of my projects shared folder and have to manual upload this myself. The video is around 1.5 gb and it still takes YouTube 2-3 hours to upload. It has been much faster before. Its not a problem with my freaking fast Internet because every other uploading page flys.
I'm thinking this might be a problem with youtubes interface overhaul. Can anyone tell me if they're experiencing the same problems and if there's a planned update for fcp or YouTube to make them work between each other again?

I do it exactly the way you do it. Export the video using "RealTime Conversion" . The videos must be less than 10min though. When you import to YouTube, it does seem to take a while per video though.
    Good luck !!

  • Final Cut Pro 7 - Share - Blu-ray - ERROR

Fresh install of OS and FCS.
Ran a quick test to make sure this would work:
    File - Share - Blu-ray
Burned to disc then and there, and it was successful on an eleven second portion of the clip with an in and out point on the timeline.
The result was a beautiful Blu-ray quality 11 second clip recorded onto a DVD-RW, and it played back fine on a PS3. (AVCHD)
Extended the in and out point on the same clip in the same timeline in order to do a 20 minute version of the same thing. 2.5 hours later, it ejected my blank DVD I had already inserted, and asked me for a Dual Layer. I put one in, and it ejected that one, too. I kept trying different blank media and eventually it tells me:
There was an error burning your disc.
Operation could not be completed. (DSPPublishing error -1006.)
Hit "Try Again" and after a few minutes it says again,
Please insert the dual layer media to burn the
    disc "name-Blu-ray".
Seems to be an endless loop. It's reporting the final size will be only 1.6GB, so I don't know why it's asking for a DL disc. I spoke to Apple today and they told me this feature was not compatible with DL media at all anyway.
    If anyone can help...

    Update and WORKAROUND:
I have been experimenting and here's what I've learned:
I'm thinking the new "Create Disc" is the cause. The encoded files generated by FCP7 and Compressor 3.5 are fine. One whacky theory of mine is the programmers made a typo where if you encode a file like this over 1GB the burn fails. I don't know, I'm just saying, it's probably something simple like that.
I spoke to Apple, too. First I had someone tell me it failed because I tried a clip larger than 25 minutes, so I tried 20, and it failed, too, the same way. (I also previously encoded a 3.5 minute clip and it was excellent.) This person also told me Dual Layer was not supported at all. He was completely wrong.
I called back and this time it was a guy named Bob. If you ever call and speak to him, just do him a favor and hang up on yourself and save him the trouble. He won't let you speak to tell him the problem, and even if you are calm and try he's the type to tell you to "calm down, sir." He literally told me "there is no Blu-ray feature" in the new FCS. I merely asked if he had seen the new Compressor and he told me he knew everything, and asked me to have a nice day before hanging up on me. I know he's an anomaly at Apple.
I called back and spoke to someone else, and they gave me this link:
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/burn_br_mac_superdrivestone.html
After I read it I thought, "that's exactly what I did!" But it doesn't work and that's why I'm calling. (Even that article reports odd bugs.)
I called again, just because I know this needs to be fixed. Finally I spoke to someone who passed it along, and they are going to look into it. Get this - he checked the FCS manuals and discovered that it is indeed a feature that should work. Maybe they will name the patch after me.
So I also found a solution in the meantime. I've read hints here and there, but this is what has just worked for me and I wanted to verify before posting and sharing it:
Do the encode with Share in FCP7 or Compressor 3.5. Screw what anyone tells you about "maximum size" or 25 minutes or even what Compressor tells you regarding the number of minutes of footage the disc will hold. It's wrong. And, it will support Dual Layer discs. Go by the file size in the summary, and that's it. (I'm talking about AVCHD here, nothing else. It's the Blu-ray setting and you can change it to AVCHD to burn on a DVD-5 or DVD-9, in the manual it says "red laser media.")
If you want to burn to a DVD-5 stay under around 4GB for your video, but you can experiment with the details. You have a minimum of 5Mbps and a max of 17Mbps in a VBR. Seriously, use whatever you want, as long as it will fit on the media. This is also about H.264, not MPEG-2.
Export to files, and make sure you do NOT burn from FCP7 or Compressor 3.5, because that will cause the problem. It will even completely ruin your blank media, but you may think it's still blank because they will be detected as blank media, even in other systems. But they cannot be used, ever again, merely for trying with "Create Disc."
In the end you will have two files:
    movie.264
    movie.ac3
If you have two files with those extensions and they don't have the exact same file name, rename them, but keep the extensions.
I used Toast 9. Blu-ray Video option. Add - locate the two clips with the same names with .264 and .ac3. They go in, deal with the ugly menus, but make sure you do this:
    In the Encoding settings:
    Custom
    MPEG-4 AVC
Average Bit Rate: to whatever you used in Compressor or FCP7.
Maximum Bit Rate: may as well set it to 17 (we're trying not to re-encode the files)
Motion Est - Best - check the Half-PEL box
Reencoding - Never (that might make the above a waste, but it only took a couple seconds so stop complaining.) Set the rest to the same settings in the same way.
Choose your blank media and burn it, and few seconds later you can slap it into your PS3 and watch the creamy smooth silky beautiful encode right there.
I read somewhere it retains the FCP color settings and that's probably why doing it this way is a thousand times better than using Toast to encode (which skips really bad in my tests). I've also tried Encore and it was ugly and looked like it skipped frames.
Anyway, "Create Disc" may not work right now, but the encodes are amazing. I hope this helps others from banging their heads against the wall, and from calling Bob. I just burned a 2 hour movie onto a DVD and played it back on a PS3!

  • Final Cut Pro X - Share - Export Media - H.264 - Audio is panned to the left?!

My video has a soundtrack that is a stereo .WAV that I can play in QuickTime with no problem.
I added the .WAV to my FCPX project, exported H.264 of the finished video, and when I play the resulting file in QuickTime, the audio is panned to the left. There is still some stereo separation but it's like the right channel has been turned down. Alternately playing the video and the original .WAV in QuickTime makes it extremely obvious, but it's actually noticeable (and very annoying) even without the comparison.
Does this happen to anyone who exports H.264 via the Share -> Export Media menu item, or is it something in my project? (I didn't do anything to the audio apart from dragging it onto the timeline - I tried deleting the audio and dragging the file back on again but it still ends up panned to the left in the output).

It was set to Surround and 48Khz. I set it to Stereo (and 44.1Khz for good measure, as that is the sample rate of my soundtrack) and then re-exported to H.264, and now the audo is perfectly centered.
    So that's perfect, thanks.
Now the only thing wrong with FCPX is how it crashes every ten minutes or so!

    Hey guys,
Having issues with my final cut pro x in regards to sharing. Anytime I share a project, either with my custom compressor setting or with default share settings it gets stuck at Zero% then I have to restart the computer, click share again and then it works.
I've already deleted the basic final cut pro plist files User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.FinalCut.plist & com.apple.FinalCut.LSSharedFileList.plist, Restarted machine and same issue occurs. I've even run all the final cut pro x updates and still same issue.
Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing the share function to get stuck at 0%?

  • Final cut pro dvd fails to share

Over the past few months Final Cut Pro Share DVD fails most of the time. I tried restarting the program and my mac to no avail. I end up moving the video to my macbook and sharing the dvd on it. I am running OX 10.9.5  Final Cut Pro 10.1.3.

The error message seemed to indicate an encoding problem – apparently to DVD specs. See id you can verify this by choosing Output Device>Hard Drive  in Settings in export dialog.  If it fails, leave FCP open and go inside the library bundle and open up the Shared Items folder. If there is an m2v file and  an AC3 file, drag them to the Desktop to save them from being deleted when FCP is closed down.

  • Can't share final cut pro latest version across my macs.

I have purchased, for quite a bit of money, the latest Final Cut Pro for my macbook pro - 10.5.6, I think it is , -  I really find all these decimal numbers meaningless, confusing and difficult to remember.
Still, I want to share the purchased fcp app so I can use it also on my macbook air.
Trouble is, my macbook pro runs on snowleopard, and the macbook air, which I bought more recently runs on  mountain lion,.. no, just  Lion....
This latest version of FCP is not supported by Lion (10.7.4), so my macbook air can't download it.
The solution to this  problem may seem obvious to many, but I can't see it. And the problem is just nuts!
Any clues as to how to get my  - later version - macbook air to work with the latest version of Final Cut Pro would be much appreciated. Taa

    Lousy Fool
Sigh, the wink at the bottom really doesn't help you to get away with the patronism in your answer you know.
I know what OSX systems each of my macs run - 10.6.8 for the mcp and 10.7.4 for the mbair.
I don't want to "stress software update in the same apple menu" and move from 10.7.4 to 10.7.5, because its my understanding from researching reviews on this forum, and from my own experience that updating the operating systems on macs can cause hassle. If I am wrong in this then thats my learning.
Finally, with regards to my expectations, it was a trainer at an applestore , fully aware that I was using these two operating systems, who suggested I upgrade my final cut pro. My expectations were that he knew what fcps compatibilities were.
Finally, what kind of company releases an upgrage system is compatible with an earlier version of its own software (10.6.8), but not with a later one (10.7.4). I do have expectations of apple being better than this.
This is only the second time I've come onto an apple forum to ask a genuine question that foxes me, and the second time I've received the kind of reply that its intended to put one down. Be aware of how your answers come across please.

  • Comparing video quality of AVCHD BluRay discs using Final Cut Pro Share vs Compressor

Up front, I will admit to being a newbie when it comes to using Final Cut Studio 3 and would appreciate some feedback from the Apple forum experts.
I have spent a lot of time trying to determine how to achieve an optimum group of Compressor 3.5.2 settings so that the playback video quality of an AVCHD BluRay disc is equal to or better than one created by using the simpler auto settings of FCPro Share, version 7.0.2.
When using Compressor’s auto/default maximum settings, I experienced the same error message reported in:
Error MessageDuring Creation of Blu-ray Disc in FCP and Compressor 3.5
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/12073794#12073794
I have since made some Compressor AVCHD Discs with smaller bit rate settings and compared video quality with a single FCP Share AVCHD disc.  Both seem to be equal in providing a very good video when viewed on my new Panasonic DMP BDT 310 BluRay player. However, the Compressor AVCHD discs show some motion artifacts not present with the FCPro Share version, especially when scrolling text or when objects are moving through the field of view, and visible artifacts are seen from a stationary chain link fence and other lattice work in the background of the video sample.
My sample video used for the comparisons between Compressor and FCP Share discs is a 21 minute duration home movie, originally captured from a mini DV, Canon HV30 1080i camcorder using ProRes HQ encoding(1440x1080), and dragged into FC Pro 7.0.2 timeline where 10 chapter markers have been inserted.
To create an AVCHD disc using FCPro Share, Markers are used to set the IN and OUT points, Select IN to OUT from the timeline, pull down File Menu Share, Select Create BluRay from options in pop out Share pane, and designate output device along with picture files for Background, Logo, and Title options. When these are completed, click on Export.  My 21-minute video required almost two hours for encoding including about 10 minutes for burning. This accomplished on an iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
To prepare this same 21-minute video for use with Compressor, I again Select IN to Out from the FCPro timeline, but this time use File Export as a QuickTime Self Contained movie including Chapter markers. Then Open Compressor, choose Create BluRay from Template pane, right click on the down arrow in the Batch window and load the QT self contained movie file. From there I went to the Inspector window and tried various combinations of bit rate settings along with Frame Encoder options such as Better or Best motion parameter controls.
I have tried the following combinations of Bit rate settings along with varying Frame Encoder controls and burned an AVCHD disc for each example:
    Example A
Compressor set to 6 Mbps Average and 8Mbps Maximum, Frame Encoder settings OFF. Approximately 4 hours to encode although the time remaining estimator indicated a larger value of ~7 hours; not an accurate estimator at all.
    Example B
Compressor set to 6 Mbps Average and 8Mbps Maximum, Frame Encoder settings ON, using “Better (Linear Filter) and Better (Motionadaptive)” settings. Approximately 4 hours to encode, not the 13 hours that were estimated.
Conclusion: Comparing A & B Compressor versions, Disc B showed some improvements in reducing motion artifacts over Disc A.
    Example C
Compressor set to 13 Mbps Average and 15 Mbps Maximum, Frame Encoder settings ON, using “Better (Linear Filter) and Better (Motion adaptive)” settings. Multipass checked. DeInterlace was checked. Unknown hours to encode; about 8 hours done overnight..
Conclusion: Disc C showed some minor improvements reducing motion artifacts over Disc B
    Example D
Compressor Auto settings,i.e., 15 Mbps Average and 17 Mbps Maximum, Frame Encoder settings ON, using “Better (Linear Filter) and Better (Motion adaptive)” settings. Multipass checked. Approximately 12 hours to encode, done overnight. Inserted disc next morning after the overnight encoding was completed, and a few minutes later an error message pane appeared that the maximum bit rate had been exceeded.  This message was consistent with the Apple posted thread referenced above. Unfortunately the long overnight encoding was wasted.
It seemed to me that the best Compressor settings for suppressing the motion artifacts were displayed by the disc burned in Example C, i.e.,  13/15 Ave/Max Mbps with“Better” Motion settings in the Frame Encoder.
However, when this disc was compared to the AVCHD Disc burned using the FCPro Share, the latter still seemed much better. I do not know what the auto bit rate values are as set in FC Pro, but for me, the quality is quite good AND the motion artifacts are significantly reduced, especially evident with the scrolling text.
Sorry about this long post, but I thought the detail would be necessary for the experts, and maybe helpful to others trying to get started in this BluRay arena.  Did I misuse Compressor?  I think the sample video exported as a self contained QT movie was the right thing to do?  Not sure where I went wrong.
Thanks in advance for Feedback and Recommendations.  For now, I’m going to stay with the simpler process using Final Cut Pro Share function.
    BoBo

Thank You, Brad, for responding;  glad to hear I'm not the only one having similar Compressor issues.
You may have hit on something.  Perhaps Compressor's use of H.264 encoding was the reason for my motion artifacts?  And perhaps Final Cut Pro Share retains the 1440x1080 quality as it burns the AVCHD BluRay disc?
I had Toast 10 for less than 30 days a couple of years ago, and was lucky to get a refund.
What version of Toast do you have?  Wondering if new Toast 11 has improved previous bugs, especially upgrading its Chapter text, pictures, music.  I would go back to Toast if it came close to mirroring DVD Studio Pro, or even iDVD capabilities.
    Thanks,
    BoBo

  • Changed operating system mid project in Final Cut Pro

I was working on a  Final Cut project and changed operating systems from Snow leopard to Mavericks in mid project. I have since changed to Mountain Lion as many of my programs were not comparable to run with Mavericks.   My FCP project takes ages to render and auto saves every minute even though I have set it to save less often.  Are these problems the result of changing systems.  I only had a sense this was so after opening an old project and working on it and it running smoothly with fast render etc.
    any help appreciated
    Catherine.

Do a test. With the range tool make a very short range selection of your project and Share>DVD. In the export dialoge >Settings, choose Hard Drive for Output Device. Click on the Add button for menu background. When the next window appears, hit cancel. See if it exports and burns a disk image, If it does, try the complete project.
BTW, is your project length 79 minutes or 79 seconds?
