Final Cut Studio 3 can switch from Japanese to english?

I live in Japan and I want to buy Final Cut Studio 3, but there is only Japanese language only. I'm afraid of purchasing it and it won't switch to 100% in English. Is there an International version in Japan? Has anyone purchased from Japan and using it in english? Any info would be most appreciated.
Thank you
Luis

Thank you for answering the question. I went ahead to call Apple Store Japan and ask the same question. It should work on any language once you set your main computer to the language your of choice. I will purchase and will keep you posted.
Thank you

  • FINAL CUT STUDIO PRO - CAN'T GET "SMOOTHCAM" EFFECT

    PROBLEM:
FINAL CUT STUDIO PRO - CAN’T GET “SMOOTHCAM” EFFECT
    I use a Macbook Pro 17”
Software: Leopard 10.5. External LaCie Hard Drive 1TB
I upgraded my Computer Software to Leopard and reinstalled Final Cut Pro and Motion on my Laptop. It worked fine with SmoothCam, but as I had lost too much space on my Laptop Harddrive, I decided to reinstall the full program, choosing custom location the external LaCie drive.
Since than Final Cut Pro can’t find SmoothCam and it asks to reinstall SmoothCam.
    ➢ ./library/Plug-Ins/FX /Plug< Not Existing
    ➢ ./library-Application Support/ProApps/Internal Plug-Ins/FX Plug<
    This file is empty.
My project I work on at the moment is a film, where I had done a lot of SmoothCams, but since reinstalling it will not find the effect anymore, it asks to reinstall SmoothCam.
In the mean time I tried several times to start from scratch and reinstall the whole Program, but now I’m not even able to register anymore, it will not accept the correct Registration No.
I would appreciate anybodies help very much.

I had a similar problem when I upgraded my MacBook Pro to leopard as well. This is what I did (after several trial and errors)...
1.) Wipe the computer again and reinstall leopard. I suggest doing a custom install and just leave out things you do not need as they just take up valuable space.
2.) Reinstall FCS but DO NOT let it install the additional content as we will get to that part later. Just install the core programs themselves and uncheck the boxes to install the additional content.
3.) After FCS is installed re-run the installer and install the content but change the location to your external drive. At this point I created a folder on my external called "Final Cut Studio" and Created separate folders for each program and its content.
4.) After you have reinstalled the content on to your external drive, go into each program and point them to where the extra content is kept. <--- This step and step 3 arent really needed, but they make things easy for when you have to wipe your computer. This has saved me LOTS of time on reinstalling FCP because now all you have to do is install the core programs from now on.
You once you start FCP all your effects should be there. The main thing here is to do a complete wipe of the system and rebuild. Not just an uninstall / re-install. As far as your registration problem your going to have to call apple. I had a problem with an old serial number where it would not take it anymore after updating the software to 6.0.2 from 6.0. They can give you a new number to use and it does not take too long.
Hope that helps you out some.

  • Final Cut Studio 2 Migration path from Final Cut Express

I'm currently using FCE HD 3.5, which I upgraded from FCE version 1.0
I understand that no migration path exists from Final Cut Express to Final Cut Studio 2.
However I have seen on ebay someone selling an upgrade to Final Cut Pro 5 HD from Final Cut express.
I was wondering.... if I got this then could I then get a Final Cut Studio 2 Upgrade from FCP 5 HD?
Does anyone see any problems with doing this? It seems to be a way to save money.
    Thanks,
    Steve.

And it's well worth it. you can recoup a little of
your cost by uninstalling fce and selling it.
What's required in order to sell it? Can the registration be transferred to a new owner?

  • Final Cut Studio 2 -can't make good slide shows?

    Greetings,
As I understand it, getting a good quality DVD produced in FCP from digital slides isn't possible.
Having acquired Final Cut Studio 2, I hoped to avoid more software purchases.
Do I really need a third party application such as Fotomagico to produce quality video from digital slides?

No you can do it in FCP.
From what I've read about Fotomagico, that program will do it much quicker.
If you can pre-format all your pictures and use tiffs or pngs instead of jpgs then you're better off with FCP. But I've used jpgs. Just used used about 2000-3000 of them for a family project.
I don't advise using that many, but if you create lots of different sequences and put them all together at the end it's doable...also you will need to dramatically increase your Still Cache memory in the Memory and Cache Tab within your System Settings.
    Good luck

  • How can i remove final cut studio 7?

I would like to completely remove the installation of Final Cut Studio 7.0.3 from my start-up drive prior to upgrading the FCPX 10.0.3; what is the best practice to remove all of its apps prior to installing/upgrading via the App Store?

    Thank you Shane,
Although I consider your BEST practice much like cutting off your head to get rid of the headache the Second best solution appears to have worked just as well.

  • Final Cut Studio 2 won't except my old serial number, what should I do?

Final Cut Studio 2 installation software reports invalid serial number when I enter my serial number from Final Cut Studio.
    What am I doing wrong?
My Final Cut Studio is an upgrade from an older version of Final Cut. Can I upgrade an upgrade?
My computer is not connected to the internet, is this a problem?
    Please HELP!

You don't need an internet connection to install Final Cut Studio.
You will be asked to register the software, but you don't have to do this. Although a reminder to register will pop up about every 4th or 5th time the software is opened.
When you use upgrade serial numbers, you usually get a warning that you need the number from a full licensed copy. Enter that and then the new serial that came with the upgrade.

  • What Mac to get for Final Cut Studio?

I've been doing most of my video editing for the last year or so in Sony Vegas on a PC. I'm looking to get into it a bit more seriously and want to make the switch to Final Cut Studio.
Can I run it on a Macbook Pro? Can I run it WELL on a Macbook Pro? Currently I'm running Sony Vegas on a PC with a Q9350 quad-core CPU, 4gb ram, and an 8800GT graphics card, and I'm not fully satisfied with the way it runs (encoding times are fine, but it's difficult to preview within the software with any semi-complex effects added). What should I be looking for in terms of processing speed and whatnot here? Could I get away with the 13 or 15 inch Macbook pros and still run things well?
Hard drive size is not an issue, as everything will be archived to a server.

This isn't the thread in post in.
    Try here
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=939
It depends on which MBP, what type of video you are editing, and other factors.
Remember as well that FCS3 2009 includes FCP, DVDSP, Compressor, Color, Motion, and Cinema Tools, some of which are GPU based in part.

  • Release product serial number for final cut studio

i bought an imac. gonna take it back. installed final cut studio. how can i unlock the key for the next computer? do i have to contact apple to release it?

You can uninstall all of the FCS components from the iMac before you return it by using this: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcs_remover.htm
When you install FCS on the new computer, use the serial number that was included with the FCS package - it is on stickers affixed to the front cover of the booklet titled "Installing Your Software."

  • Reinstalling final cut studio

so i have to do an archive install. but i've read that i also should reinstall programs such as final cut studio. it might be easier to just wipe the hard drive and do fresh install, but we'll see. do i have to un-install final cut studio or can i install it on top of itself? how does that work?

I do understand the reluctance to do a wipe and reinstall. Still, if you are organized and methodical, it will go fast enough.
Herein are X's rules for a happy experience.
    • Make a list of all Applications to install. Which ones do you need? Go through your Applications and Utilities folder and note which ones you'll want to reinstall. Note the version.
(I don't know about you, but I had a shocking number of apps I downloaded, used for a few times and never used again. Forget installing these disused apps.)
    • If you are upgrading from a PPC to an intel machine, you'll want to know if the apps are UB or PPC. Upgrading your PPC software to UB can be a significant cost in a PPC to intel conversion. Know what you are getting into - do a search before installation to see if there is a UB version available. You can find out whether an app is PPC or UB by looking in System Profiler>Software>Applications. This window will also tell you the current installed version number. Generate a .pdf file of it and have everything listed for your records.
    • In the list, note whether is was a download or you have a disk. If it was a download, find the DMG or installer package and copy it to an external firewire drive. Put it in a folder titled - Apps to be installed - or something easily identifiable.
    • If you need to go back to a previous version (e.g. QT 6.5.2) download the dmg file BEFORE you start the installation process.
    • In the list, note if the application is a full install or an UPGRADE. If an upgrade, make sure you have the previous version's disks (as well as the serial numbers - see below).
If the UPGRADE version does not require the previous version to be present - eg when installing the upgrade version of FCP 6, DO NOT install earlier software. All you'll need is the previous serial number. The way to figure this out is to try to install the newest version. If it needs the previous version present before proceeding, the install process will tell you that.
Some upgrades will require that a version of the previous app is on the disk. If this is the case, when you install the first version, simply install the minimum so the app will be on the hard drive. You will need to do this because there will be NOTHING on the disk after you do your clean erase.
    • Referencing your list, find ALL your disks before you start. This includes previous versions if you are unsure whether they will be needed.
    • Spend some time looking through this forum for Professional Application installation issues. The classic example is a conflict between Logic and FCP. Install FCP first and you'll have no issues.
    • Sort your list into an installation sequence. Lay out your disks in that order.
    • Referencing the list, make sure you have ALL your serial numbers including those you've downloaded. I've purchased a number of programs on line and the only documentation of the serial number was an email. All those are kept in a dedicated folder in Mac Mail. For serial numbers that arrived via electronic means, use cut and paste instead of re-typing whenever possible. This will prevent errors in transcription.
In making the list, TEXT EDIT works ok, (I use Excel). Text edit has the benefit of being easily readable on any mac. Print the list out for reference, put a copy on a flash drive or a firewire drive where you can access it to cut and past serial numbers during the installation process.
    • Download Carbon Copy Cloner or one of the other backup utilities and do a full backup of your existing system drive to an external firewire drive. Make the drive bootable. *Do not* cheap out on this as this is your insurance policy. If you forget something or can not find a serial number, you often can find it and copy it from the backup system to the newly installed version. Or, if things go horribly wrong, you can simply copy the old system back to your computer and pick up where you left off.
    • Recognize this is going to take some time. Ranting, drinking too much coffee, swearing, sitting in front of the computer watching the progress bar, etc will not make things go faster. All it will to is put you in a really bad frame of mind. Do it over a weekend when you can be multitasking. While you are cleaning off the mountains of paper on your desk or raking the yard, you can take regular breaks to check on progress.
    Process -
    • Once you have gathered and organized all the materials and backed up the drive ...
    • Erase the hard drive. Use the ZEROs option as this will map out any bad sectors. This will take time. See the note above.
    • Install the OS. If it is an upgrade install, see the note above regarding upgrade installs. Repair Permissions and then run the updates. Repair Permissions.
    • Install your applications following your list. Make sure to Repair Permissions after each install and update..
Have fun, be prepared for a few minor glitches. If you multitask, you can get the garage/ or office cleaned out and your computer rebuilt. In all honesty, this process took all weekend plus time in the next week as I discovered apps that needed additional updates, configuration settings, etc. No doubt it would have been faster if I was sitting at the console the whole time, but I was able to get the office cleaned up and organized (which also makes ME much faster). Overall it was a very slick process.
When you have a fully functioning system again, CLONE the new system and put your info, your notes and the disks in a safe place - once you've done this once, why go through the pain of organizing this stuff again ...
Now, rejoice in a much faster machine with a lot more free disk space.
    Cheers,
    x

  • Final Cut Studio Install Question

    Hi All,
I just bought he Final Cut Studio 2 upgrade package (from FCS1) and want to install on my MacBookPro 17". I don't have enough space on the drive to install all the media (sound track loops, motion elements, etc...). I'd like to install the basic app on my internal drive with all the "templates, loops, etc..." on anexternal drive, but I can't seem to find a way to direct the install program to split tings up like that.
Do I have to install the program with out the loops first, then go bak and install the elements seperately? Or is there an easier way to do this?
    Thanks,

I used to live a couple of block from your business in Orlando. I'm disappointed that I never did business with you - would have save me gas!
Your Mac needs a diet. You can eliminate tons of files that you don't need within the apps your have installed. Did you know that most of your apps are like two apps (Universal) - one runs on PPC and other on Intel? You don't need them both.
You can reduce the Photoshop app by trashing over 100 MB.
    Illustrator 303MB down to 182MB.
    FCP 343MB down to 101MB!

I've used this and had no problems. You'll love the FCP 6.

You can have them both on the same computer as I and many others have done for years.
Just go ahead and install FCS 3 normally.
There will be absolutely no problems.

  • Can't open Final Cut Studio 2010 upgrade from Apple page

    Hi all
I'm setting up a new MacBook Pro, running Lion, after being away from video editing for a while. And not having a more techie person around to help. So after checking  forums I installed Final Cut Studio 3.00 off disk.
Thought I'd better add the Apple 2010 update at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL949  But after downloading it several times I can't open the dmg - it gives an error message: saying 'can't open .. invalid checksum'. Also - with Lion can only format the external drive as OS Extended Journalled. I'm just doing a short doco - using some footage off tape.
So I'm hoping someone can help - does it matter not having the update? Will the drive be able to cope in Journalled format?

    Thanks Nick
Tried that & it does also bring up  a few other updates. But it still goes to the link to download the update dmg - which can't be opened.  Good news is that FCP seems to be working fine for what I'm doing now - which is capturing off tape & editing. Still, Iwouldn't mind updating though.
Sorry for slow reply but been having Applle ID problems, but that's another story.

  • Can u upgrade Final Cut studio product key from a G-5 platform to a new intel processor?

Can u upgrade Final Cut studio product key from a G-5 platform to a new intel processor?

Not sure here ... you want to upgrade Final Cut Studio or do you want to move the version you have to an Intel Mac? Both is possible if you meet the system requirments.
    1. Upgrade FCS
The Final Cut Studio upgrade provides an upgrade path from Final Cut Studio 2, Final Cut Studio 1, Production Suite, or any prior version of Final Cut Pro. Academic and Not-For-Resale (NFR) versions are not eligible for upgrade.
    2. Upgrade to Intel Mac
You may run the applications on one desktop and one laptop at the same time
