Final cut x on a mac mini 3,1 2.26ghz with 8gb of memory

how can I get final cut x to work on mac mini 3,1 2.26ghz with 8gb of memory

I would opt for one 8 GB stick so you would have 10 GB. total. This says really no practical advantage in dual channel memory

Can I use final cut pro X on " Mac mini" ?

depending on what model: for sure yes, it does!
I did use FCPX on an old MacMini, c2d, 2.26GHz with 8GB Ram (using proxies made editing easy).
My actual work-horse is a MacMini i5, late 2012, 16GB Ram, plus some ext. usb3 drives = perfect for my needs! (costs vs. power)
I'm using two cheap 2.5" Toshiba 1TB usb3-drives, combined with MacOS' built-in DiskUtility as a Raid0 = 150mbps for under 100€ ... not professional (=raid0 contains a small risk of data loss), but again: best €-vs.-HP ratio

  • Running Final Cut 4 on a Mac Mini...what do I do?

Well after installing final cut 4 on my new mac mini I realized I need an AGP card to run it. Thing is I'm new to the mac mini and don't know if I can install and AGP card because it doesn't appear to have the slot like other desktop computers do. So if anyone can help me out with this please let me know what to do. thanks

I think that you guys have missed something in the OP's post. He says "new" mini and FCP 4. These two things don't go together.
    Lagacy,
to run FCP on your new intel based mini you need to crossgrade to FCS 5.1. FCP4 is not universal and will not run well if it will run at all on this machine. For you I believe the crossgrade would be $199.
    See this link: http://www.apple.com/universal/crossgrade/

  • Final cut studio 2 on mac mini

has anyone tried it on a mac mini?
i want to get a new mac pro but since the design is about to change sooner or later i prefer to get a desktop in the meantime.
does it run on a mac mini with that slow graphic card? what about color or motion?
    thanks
mac mini   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/specs.html
"A Macintosh computer with a 1.25GHz or faster PowerPC G4, PowerPC G5, Intel Core Duo, or Intel Xeon processor
    1GB of RAM
An AGP or PCI Express Quartz Extreme graphics card (Final Cut Studio is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors)
A display with 1024-by-768 resolution or higher."
That is the requirement to install all of the applications. Motion and definitely Color won't work.
You might be able to run DVD SP and FCP 6, however.
But then what do you capture video footage to?

  • Final Cut Express on new Mac Mini

I have been running FCE on my Mac Mini (bought in 2008) with OS X10.9.5 Mavericks.  When the old Mini went bad, I replaced it with a refurbished Mac Mini Model A1347, Part  No MD387/LL/A., also running Mavericks 10.9.5.  I restored the data from the Time Machine backup.  All my applications and files appeared properly.   When I now open FCE, the program requests my name, organization and Serial Number.  I enter the number from the original materials that came with the software, but the response is "serial number not valid".   What can I do next?

I did find a file in the ProApps folder called "Prodict Registration".    When I tried to open that file, I get the message "You can't open the application 'Product Registration' because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."  Could this be the source of the problem?
I don't know. Is the version you are trying to unlock an upgrade from a previous version? Upgrades require two serial numbers, the 1st being the serial number of the full version, and then the Upgrade serial number - although I am not sure if this applies to migrated software.

  • Is it possible to export video from Final Cut X to DSR-PD175 mini DV camera

    Hi,
Recently i buy on 27inch iMac with Final Cut Pro X installed.
Also I buy Thunder bolt to firewire adapter & firewire cable from Apple.
Now i am abel to capture my video from DSR-PD175 mini DV camera to FCP X.
How can i export video from Final Cut X to DSR-PD175 mini DV camera?
    Please advise....
    Thanks & Regds

    II'm afraid not.
Not digitally anyway. Maybe by going to a monitor that has analoh AV output to the camera.
    Probably Premiere. Or old FCP7.

  • Final Cut Pro X and Mac Caption Site Licenses

How much does it cost for a site license for Final Cut Pro X and Mac Caption?  I need to have one computer going for production and one for training someone.  Is there 501C-3 pricing available?

FCP X can be used on as many Macs as you own.  Be sure each is logged in to your iTunes/App Store account.  So for two Macs that you own, you can download to both, only pay for one.
There is a bulk license deal for it, but you'd need to be running 10+ Macs before you'd get any discount or anything.
Mac Caption is an issue you'll have to take up with them.

  • Final Cut randomly reboots my Mac

Hello, I'm writing here hoping it is the right place for this kind of issue.
The issue I'm reporting happens since I updated my OS to Mavericks and therefore updating Final Cut to 10.1.1 - It occurs on a MacBook Pro Late 2011 - 4GB Ram, 512MB video.
The computer reboots itself while Final Cut Pro is running and while is booting it reboots again (while the apple is shown and the background becomes dimmer), then finally the OS starts successfully, Final Cut is opened again by the OS (since it was previously open) and if I don't Force Quit it, and let Final Cut open again it would reboot the system once again.
This behaviour is apparently random (doesn't always occur) and only with Final Cut - I do use this Mac intensively, often more than 8 hours in a row without experiencing any issue.
I also use applications such as Photoshop and Lightroom, experiencing no problem with them. I have been thinking that there could be an issue with my video card since I believe that Final Cut makes a strong use of the graphic processor, in a way that other applications do not (this would explain why it only occurs with Final Cut?).
I've also run the Apple Hardware Test that reported the hardware to be OK.
The battery on this laptop is dead, the battery icon has a cross on it and if I click it, it states "No Battery Available". I'm not sure this could be causing Final Cut to reboot my Mac, but I thought I'd mention it.
Is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot the issue?

You need to take it to an Apple service technician or store.

  • CS4 Production Pro installation with Final Cut on same drive (mac)

Can the CS4 suite be installed and coexist with Final Cut Suite (not Final Cut X) on the same hard drive with mac os? Do not plan to open FCS apps while I am working on a project in CS4.  Just want to see if I like the CS4 suite to make the transition from Final Cut Suite.
Will there be conflicts, bottlenecks, etc.
    Thanks in advance.

no, I know that final cut pro 4 wont run on the macbook pro. I am wondering about the media files, capture scartch, quicktime etc. If I have final cut pro 5 on the macbook pro will it recognise those files and update them? Not the application itself but the files from the media created.
Basically I have projects I made in final cut 4 on the old system, that I want to work on in final cut 5 on the mac book pro. How do I do that?
    sorry for being unclear.

I keep getting an error message that reads "to update application sign into the account you used to purchase it"
I am trying to download Final Cut Pro X 10.0.9
I am signed in with the account that I purchased Final cut Pro X
I don't have another account I'm not sure what's going on

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Open the Mac App Store and go to Purchases. Do you see Final Cut Pro X listed?
If so, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and delete Final Cut Pro X. Then, go to the Mac App Store and download Final Cut Pro X for free.
If you don't see it in Purchases, see if it's hidden, and if so, unhide it > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928 If it doesn't work, contact with the Mac App Store support > http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact

  • Is it right to mix sizes of memory modules in a mac mini 2012? for example 2Gb 8Gb?

Is it right to mix sizes of memory modules in a mac mini 2012? for example 2Gb 8Gb?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You can do that without any problem, always that the total amount of memory is less than the maximum memory your Mac mini supports. A Late 2012 Mac mini supports 16 GB of memory, and you can find in this site the steps to install more memory > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4432?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US#1

No. There is no "USB Target Disk Mode".
Just so we're clear, when you start your Mac mini in FireWire Target Disk Mode (TDM - holding T on startup), do you see a FireWire icon on the Mac mini's display? IIRC, it's not required that the Mac mini be connected to a display for TDM, but it would help diagnose whether or not the mini is actually starting in this mode.

  • Moving a drive with OSX to another computer? take it out of my Mac pro laptop and into my mac mini. can it be done with no OS/Hardware issues?

moving a drive with OSX to another computer? take it out of my Mac pro laptop and into my mac mini. can it be done with no OS/Hardware issues?

When I work with a drive to boot many computers, I use the newest model computer I will be booting, and set the system up on that, run all the Apple updates. Normally I will have no issue booting any older computer with the same drive. Unless of course those older computers do not support the operating system on that drive.
If you want to test if the drive will boot the mac mini. Put your MacBook Pro into target mode. Connect the two computers together. And on the Mac Mini, go into system preferences and then under start up disk and see if the target disk mode computer's drive shows up there. Seelct that drive and restart. See if it boots ok. A bit easier then taking the drives out and moving things around.

  • Will logic pro x run on my mac mini dual core intel i5 with 4gb of ram and mountain lion ?

    hi there guys,
will logic pro x run on my mac mini dual core intel i5 with 4gb of ram and mountain lion ?
I'm not sure if my machine is 64 bit - it is the current model base mac mini.
Many thanks for any help you can offer !

SkiJumptoes is right. 4GB is not enough to comfortably run Logic X.
Your Mac Mini will need DDR3 SODIMM RAM. That website seems incredibly steep though. I guess that's the price of finding it for you. You're better off going to any below:
