I am trying to upload an imovie to youtube. It keeps saying "project too large" even though I have permission from youtube for over 15 minutes. Please help. Thanks.

share the video via a quicktime movie in whatever format you want to use, I usually create an mp4.  Once you that video is set (I usually save to my desktop) go ahead and upload from YouTube rather than going direct from iMovie.  I suspect you will not have the same size issue.

  • Project too large but under 2 hrs...how do i fit?

Compiled project is 108.5 MB too large for currently selected disc media.
How do I lower the bitrate or quality to fit?

Make the audio AC3 if you have not done so and you probably do not have to reencode video

  • "Project too large" message

    Hello-
I am a new Mac users and love it so far!! I have a question on the iMovie. When I import my clips. edit them, and them click on the Create iDVD Project to create a project I often get "project is too large" message. How can I easily tell how much video I can import from my digital camcorder so I don't have to keep having this problem? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!! I am using the 4.7GB dvd disks and know I can move to the higher capacity but since I am converting so much video tape to DVD I would rather stick with the less expensive DVD's for now. Thanks so much!!!

    Hello, David!
What no break for a beer or an ice cream???
Ha Ha! It takes about twice as long to make the iMovies as it does to view them! Of course I took many breaks as I was putting each one together! No beer, though, I am more the chocolate break type (It doesn't matter what form the chocolate is in...candy, ice cream, cookies)
I haven't got grandchildren yet....our daughter just married last year, so I am hoping to have my movies all completed before I begin making ones of grandchildren!
Maybe I will become as organized as you are by then

  • Bypass "Project Too Large" for iMovie YouTube Publishing?

    Hello,
When attempting to upload a YouTube video over 10 minutes using iMovie, it will not allow me saying that the Project is too large and must be under 10 minutes. The thing is, I am able to upload video over 10 minutes because I signed up to YouTube when they allowed over 10 minute videos. I can still upload the videos if I do it manually but I wish there was a way to bypass this in iMovie. Any tips or suggestions besides telling me to do it manually?
    Thanks.

    Hi y'all,
I am having a simlar issue with iMovie for iPad.
My files are way to big to export.
The fileis is 2.4GB and I can only export 500MB to Vimeo.
It's 63 mins and I can only export 15 mins to youtube!
I recorded a video diary and have clipped the file/project in the original project/timeline in to day recordings. I have been unable to find a way to export those individual clips (day recordings) in to  separate folders. I was hoping I could export individual clips in to sepearate folders then export them.
    I hope this makes sense?
If it does please let me know if this possible with imovie for iPad?
    Thank you!

  • IMovie Project too Large posting to Youtube

My Youtube account is approved for more than 15 minutes and greater than 20GB, yet iMovie tells me It's too large, and that it needs to be under 15 mins and under 2GB.  Is this a restriction with iMovie?

  • Final Cut Server Error Result Too Large

In Final Cut Server when trying to check out a project or add files to a project i get the following error ::
Error: could not read block 5469422 of relation 1663/16385/16653: Result too large
I have seen similar post's but no resolution.
Final Cut Server on Xserve 10.5.8
    XSAN 2.2
Present on all 12 client machines

Does this occur only on specific projects or all projects?  If it only happens on a specific project it's likely a invalid asset in which deleting and re-cataloging it would be the simplest solution.  If this happens with any asset you try to check out, then there may be a larger database issue and you may consider restoring from a backup.

  • Whats going on when after i have put my new project it tells me that cannot burn because my encode it too large for DVD

I am trying to convert a video into a dVd i did one and it will not play on my blueray, but, at least it will do on my computer.  Now i am trying to do a different dvd and it tells me after i have downlowed my new project, that i cannot burn the idvd because it is too large check my encoded?

The reason why your DVD will not play maybe your choice of disk.
    Was it a DVD + or DVD - ?
Always use a good quality DVD blank disk, at least Verbatim and check what format your player will play.
Next, to achieve the best quality export from iMovie, Share your Project to Media Browser.
Then open iDVD and use the media button (bottom right) to import your movie.
A possible reason that you are getting a too large error message is the time length of your DVD.
The default setting in iDVD for Encoding is Best Performance (60mins) and you need to change this to either High Qualirty or Professional Quality which will allow more to be encoded on the disc (120 mins).
iDVD > Project > Project Info > Encoding to change this setting and see on the Capacity slider if your project will fit.
Otherwise check how much free space you have on your HD.
    Z.
PS Slow your burn speed down to x4 for error free results.

  • How do I open a project in CS6 when it's apparently become too large (1.68 GB) to load?

I have a project that was recently sent back to me by someone who was working on the audio. When it was sent to me it was around 217 MB. After working on the project for a few more days before sending it out for color correction and additional audio work, I'm all of a sudden unable to load the project. My guess is that it has become too large to open, because now it is 1.68 GB. I don't know how that happened. I haven't applied any additional effects or brought in more media. All I've done is make trims to the picture and merged 3 sequences. I'm trying to figure out how I can open the project and, if I do need to make it smaller in order to continue working on it, is there a way to do so without losing the work that I've recently done? Thanks!

I'm trying to "import select sequences" from that project into a new project but it won't load. The loading bar is stopping about a quarter of the way through, same as it did when I recently tried to load the project normally. The loading bar has been sitting there at a quarter full for about 20 minutes now. A friend of mine tried to load the project (I sent him a zip file through Dropbox.) onto his computer yesterday and couldn't get it to open either.

  • Freezes on publish - too large project

    (sorry for my English)
Flash Catalyst cs5.5 is freezing when iam trying to publish or run the project.
    Sometimes there is a message:
"Flash catalyst cannot publish this project because it is too large. Try removing one or more media assets from your project and try again"
When it is not fully animated it works with no problem but when everything is animated-all links it frreezes on "Run the project" or "cant publish.." on Publish.
With 7 main menu links animated and 13 submenu (component) not animated it works
With 7 main menu links animated and 13 submenu (component) animated it freez, program not responding.

  • Is the final cut pro application too large for my 13" mac pro or should I install it on an external drive?

Is the final cut pro application too large for my mac book pro laptop? Should I install it on a hard drive?

4 GB hard drive!?!  It's a memory size not hard drive size   Your hard drive is much bigger than 4 GB . If you have 2011 model then hard drive size is 500GB or 750 GB HDD. You can install final cut pro and many other programs .

  • Final cut pro : Export failed - File too large

    Hello
I'm trying to export a project in FCP 10.0.5.
It seems to work but when it reaches 45% the export stops and here's the message :
Export failed : file too large ...
    Can anyone help me please?
    Thank you,
    Fred

The file size is about right but your sampling rate is wrong.
44.1 kHz is CD Audio standard. Digital video uses 48 kHz -you can use QuickTime Player to resample:
File > Export > Sound to AIFF. Click Options and then *Audio Settings* to change the sampling rate.

  • How to backup an iMovie project that is too large for the dvd?

This may be obvious, and it was probably answered elsewhere, but I'm trying to clean off my hard drive by saving my iMovie projects to two sets of dvds (one for home and one set for safekeeping at work). When saving one project as an archive, it just says this project is too large for a disc. Is it possible to stuff it as a .sitx file and then save that onto dvd? Is there a better solution than an external hard drive (which I've had a couple of fail on me).

DVD's can only hold about 4.7 GB's of DV Stream format (the format used by iMovie).
DV Stream is 13 GB's per hour of recording so it would take 3 DVD's to "store" your data for a one hour capture.
"Export" (back to tape) or use iDVD to "burn" an MPEG-2 version of your file.
Only the "tape" version would not require some type of conversion on import.

  • How to back up my imovie project, clips are too large

I am using iMovie HD 5.02, and I have a video clip imported as one clip only. The problem is the clip is 9gb and obviously that cannot be saved as archive on normal dvd.
How can I split this into smaller clips so that I can save it on two dvd's as archive file.
I have tried archive from within the program and it is too large of a file.
    Thanks

    Hi Jeff,
the cat gave you all hints needed, just to add my c€nts:
tape is better then dvd-rs! I mentioned my experiment here often: place a dvd-r in bright sunlight for ~5min - all data gone, nirvana, wooshaway.... mini-DV is much more robust compared to that.
to backup data larger then 4.4GB you should think of socalled "data spanning", tools as Toast7 are able to do so, it will chop bigger files into smaller parts, will ask for more dvd-rs and is able to recover such files back into one single one...
best practice is indeed a second drive, which offers as a sideeffect best convenience => instant access to data from within iM....

Your file is too large to be saved on the destinaion drive, that usually means that the fie is over 4GB and the drive is formatted MSDOS (Fat32)
How big is your file, and how is the external drive formatted?
