Final Cut 2 After Effectsを使用して.FCPのプロジェクトを読み込もうとしているが.フッテージが読み込めない

Final Cut 2 After Effectsをつかって、windowsのAEに
FCPのプロジェクトを読み込みたいのですが
フッテージが読み込めません
winからもmacからも接続できる
外付けハードディスクFドライブに
フッテージ(ムービーファイル)はおいてあります
xmlでの記述は
file://localhost/Volumes/ドライブ名/パス
なので、
file://localhost/F:\パス
このように置換して、FCP2AEを実行したのですが
「パスが無効です c:\f:\パス」
という警告が出て フッテージが読み込めません
(なぜ、関係のないcドライブが出てくるのでしょうか??)
何か良い解決方法があったら教えてください

is mac book pro good enough to run final cut and after effects?

Yes it is. I have two at my office working fine.
Just note. FCP has already delivered the universal binary so you won;t have any trouble. For After Effects, Adobe has not released the binary yet so the worst that will happen is that you might have a little delay opening the application. We are a professional media organization and we can rely on our intel based macs. Don't worry.

  • Final Cut and After Effects "file is busy"

    Hello All-
I am running Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 and After Effects 7.0.1 Pro (on OS 10.4.8) and I have a question. I have a series of After Effects animated DV Quicktime clips edited together in Final Cut, and when I make changes to the After Effects project files and try to rerender, I get an error:
    After Effects error: unable to overwrite - file is busy (delete) (-47) ( 3 :: 3 )
It's like Final Cut is "holding onto" the files and not allowing After Effects to rerender them. If I close down Final Cut, I can rerender just fine, but this gets real annoying closing it down and restarting it every time I need to rerender a clip. The problem is, because of my workflow, I need to do this dozens of times a day with clients in the room and I'm spending a lot of time closing and restarting Final Cut over the course of a day... is there way to do this without closing down Final Cut?
I assigned After Effects to be the "External Editor" for "Video Files", and used Final Cut's "Open In Editor" command. It sends the quicktime file to After Effects (not exactly what I want) and you would think that at this point Final Cut would have relenquished its access to the file so that I could rerender in After Effects, but nope, I still get the error. I have tried this with the User Preference setting "Always Reconnect Externally Modified Files" both on and off, no difference. I have also tried "Embed Project Link" in After Effects's quicktime output options, but this didn't help anything (I believe this only affects other Adobe apps).
The weird part of this is that when I drop a Photoshop file onto the Final Cut timeline, I can do "Open in Editor", it throws it to Photoshop, I can alter it and save with no problem, and pop back into Final Cut and it will be updated. But no such luck with Quicktime files and After Effects.
Let me know if there is a solution to this, or if I am stuck having to shut down Final Cut every single time I need to rerender one of the After Effects animation clips in the timeline.

What i have to suggest is more of a work around than it is a solution. i've had this problem off and on as well. What i do is add a number to the name of the newly rendered file, (ie. "monkey_throwspoo2.mov") import that file into FCP, open it in the viewer, and then copy it (apple + c). Provided it's the smae length as the previous file, you can right click on the previous file in the timeline and paste attributes, making sure to click on the content button for video (and audio if there is any). This should replace the old file in the timeline with the new one. Granted, you end up having a bunch of files that you're not using, but it's faster than restarting Final Cut (and looks more like it's something you're doing on purpose rather than a problem with the program to your clients). Hope this helps.

  • Final Cut and After Effects on separate comps

I have just recently had the need to use after effects for some video projects. The problem is that I have After effects on my computer and Final cut pro on my schools edit bays.
Is there a way to make a reference movie that I can bring to my comp, then take the effects back to FCP.
Basically I just want to know If I can do this with two different computers. Make the effects on one, and edit the video on another.
    Thanks.

The need for transparency would depend on your project. As an example, if you were doing a motion graphics element, you may want to build it all over top of your original video. Then before render you could "mute" out the original clip and render only your graphics. But you'd need to maintain the transparency so that the only part visible in the rendered final would be the motion elements with empty, invisible pixels all around it. So the transparency gets carried along in an "alpha channel". Doesn't sound like you're going to need this.
So you could simply export a self-contained movie from FCP at school. It will be best, for quality, if you can "Use Current Audio Video Settings" when coming out of FCP. However, this will only work for you, at home, if your home system has the same codec that you'd been working in while in FCP. If not, you've got to determine the best intermediate codec.
You may want to export some extra material around the clips in question so as to make sure you've got everything usable, and then some. So if you've got a 5 second clip you want to export, maybe back up 10-15 frames prior to your clip, set your IN point. Move out 10-15 frames after your 5 second clip and set your OUT point. That way you've got your clip + some extra material.
Take these to the home machine with AE and add your effects. Then render out a movie, that again, matches the sequence settings for the target sequence in FCP.
Remember to pay attention to codecs along the way. In general, the fewer times you hop between codecs, the better the final quality is going to be. What codec are you working in?

  • Final Cut vs After Effects vs Shake

    Hi everyone
I have been using Final Cut Studio on an Intel mac for a short period and while fcp and Motion cover most of my needs I do need a little bit more on the animation side.
Importing graphics from photoshop and illustrator and then manipulating them with live video is the majority of my work.
Right now I would like to have a good rotoscoping/paint solution to expand the possibilities of fcp studio.
My question is what would be best. A plug-in such as Silhouette (though I dont htink its available for Intel macs), Shake (maybe overkill?), or just fork out for AE to complete my toolset??
Any experiences and advice much appreciated.
    thanks

Then your only serious choice is After Effects.
<div class="jive-quote">Very rarely see a studio or serious motion graphics artist who doesn't, but its an expensive option... < </div>
This is not true at all. AEpro7 is much less expensive than any previous version and it's packed with tons of new stuff and filters for which you are not paying any additional charges. An it incorporates beautifully into CS2's Bridge functionality.

I just went through this and it appears that my Focusrite Saffire was the culprit. I connected all the outputs on the focusrite according to the way the jacsk on the back were labeled and then set up the multichannel speaker setup to match. Then I went into STP, created a pink noise clip and panned it around, the LFE, center and rears were not in the right place.
I reconnected the hardware to match the 5.1 pan pot in STP then changed the multichannel speaker setup to match. Everything appears to be correct now but I would have loved to have been able to just assigned the output busses to correct outputs in the saffire.
Next step is to pan that pink noise around with my SPL meter to calibrate the room.

  • Can I use Final Cut Studio 3 - notably FCP 7 - on the lastest MacBook Pro (non Retina) (Z0MV-27-4GB-512-HRA Apple 15" MacBook Pro/2.7GHz Quadcore Intel Core i7/8 GB) running OS 10.8?

Can I use Final Cut Studio 3 - notably FCP 7 - on the lastest MacBook Pro (non Retina) (Z0MV-27-4GB-512-HRA Apple 15" MacBook Pro/2.7GHz Quadcore Intel Core i7/8 GB) running OS 10.8?  If not, is there a work-around if I have to revisit work done in FCS 3?

I have it running on the latest NON-Retina MBP. And a good friend of mine has it running on his Retina model. Works fine.

If you need to revisit them...that's why you install FCS3.  That's really the only reason I have that on my system, to revisit old projects, and to deal with clients who still use FCP 7.
You really should look at moving on though...not sticking with FCP7. It's 4 years old...two years since it was EOL.  Adobe Premiere Pro CC is a very good FCP replacement...although I don't like their "rental" method of paying a subscription to use it.  Or you can buy Adobe CS6...but that just lacks enough to make it not quite tempting for me.  Premiere CC is spot on...but **** if I don't hate that subscription model.  But there's also Avid Media Composer.  But that doesn't do a lot of things that I used FCP and Adobe for...

  • Proper workflow when using both Final Cut (Motion) & Adobe Effects

I am trying to use some Red Giant Software, and its capabilities are severely limited in Final Cut and Motion because you can not use the bezier pen to create shapes on the fly. For Final cut and motion you have to create the shape you want in illustrator 1st, and then import it as an SVG in final cut or motion. There are quite a few plugins that have this issue.
What is the best way to have all my movie editing only in FCP, but to use adobe effects in place of motion (or in addition to). My major fear is that I am continually want to be making changes to my already compressed video out of adobe effects, so when I pull it into FCP I may want to make a change further compressing in effects, and back into FCP and so on and so forth. If I save it as uncompressed video my video files would be so large then it would take years to render each time.
    Any suggestions?

Your solution was definately helpful, however if you don't mind I have a few more questions.
This is the only thing that I found that would help me move FCP into AE without rendering & compressing and degrading quality.
    http://www.studiodaily.com/main/training/howtutorials/f/post/Final-Cut-Adobe-CS4 -Workflow_10122.html
The problem with this is that I would never use premier to edit my video, I only want to use After effects for very specific plugins (like Trapcode 3stroke and Particular). If you look at this video it seems you would need you get the entire studio which serves no purpose as I don't want to use Encore or Premier just AE. I was hoping that I could something like the video (save it as XML format - something non-destructive), to transfer my movies between both applications.
It looks like your solution however is the best thing that I have been able to find. I also read on some posts that were labeled in October 2008 that there were some 3rd party translation software products that were supposedly going to be released in 2009. If anyone has any information about it - please let me know. If I don't find anything else I think the reference movie workaround is probably the best thing - the danger is (as another person said below), I was afraid that if I use more then 1 application to edit a reference movie that it would screw up audio & video sync or screw up the final render in some way.

  • Final Cut Crashes after Crossgrade

Just perchased Final Cut Studio 5. Everything installed fine, no errors or anything. I went to open FCP and got this error...
    "Licensing Error
This application cannot continue because the licensing data is corrupt."

"I seem to have got to the bottom of the problem. I had remove a Studio ID file from the Pro Apps Folder in the Application Support Folder.

    and a reply:

So, I did that, now FCP 5 unexpectedly quits while on the splash screen.
    DVD Studio4: OK
    Soundtrack Pro: OK

    Cinema Tools: OK
I cant use FCP 4.5 anymore either...
I cant reinstall 4.5 either, because Apple took the disks when I send for the crossgrade...

  • Interface text disappeared in Final Cut Express after upgrade to 10.6

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and now none of the interface text will display in Final Cut Express. (The top menus are OK, but no file or sequence titles, effects names, etc, within Final Cut project windows or the like.)
Immediately after the upgrade I was presented with several "Font Conflict" errors claiming that some fonts had to be moved to the trash because they conflicted with system display fonts, and I said yes. The fonts were Helvetica, HelveticaNeue, and a couple of others.
Any ideas of how I can get text back? Thanks!
    -i-

I was able to fix this by restoring my ~/Library/Fonts folder from a backup prior to the 10.6 upgrade. After a restart I once again received the following errors:
"There is a conflict with the _______ font file. This font file contains a font name that conflicts with a system font required by Mac OS X to display onscreen text. You should move this font file to the Trash."
The fonts it said were conflicting: Helvetica, HelveticaNeue.dfont, Lucida Grande, and Monaco.
This time I said "Allow Conflict" on all four dialog boxes and launched Final Cut... everything is back to normal!
Not sure what kind of "conflict" it's referring to, but apparently moving these font files to the trash as OS X prompted me to do broke a number of apps.
Should I report this as a bug?

  • Final Cut Pro X effects problem

    Hi all
I have two computers with Final Cut Pro X 10.0.9, on these two computers the effects will not show when I skim over them in the thumbnails, and if I apply them to the clip, they don't show at all. If I try applying one of the generated texts FCP crashes, and I have to quit the programme.
The problem seems to be the same as described here, but the solution does not work.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4971527?tstart=0
On one of the computers that do not work, I do not have the XAVC/XDCAM Plug-in by Sony (PDZK-LT2) installed. The other mac has the plug-in installed, but deleting it, does not solve the problem.
Is there anybody out there, who could have another solution to the problem?
    Thank you for your help.
    best
    Mathilde

The FCP X sound effects were an additional external download and were not kept in the FCP X application.
You probably need to re-download them.
In the FCP menu at the top left of your screen you will see the download link.

  • Final Cut & Magic Bullet Effects

Am using Final cut pro with Magic Bullet, and I've noticed that the effects I apply when finally rendered off and burned to DVD, do not appear as strong as they did when in edit.
I import as Apple Pro Res LT, edit in this and apply effects. I then export self contained Quicktime in Pro-Res, and it's at this point that I've noticed that the effects looks quite weak/faded. For example I could apply a strong dark vignette - but it will come out a lot less dark than when it was applied.
Has anyone else had this? Can I do anything to sort? Would it be better if I exported as H.264?
    Cheers

    Hey C.,
Are you using an external reference monitor to assess your grading when using FCP/MB etc? If not, this may be something you'll want to look in to.
Anyway, further to your specific issue, would you say that the entire image looks lighter/weaker or just the vignette? If the former then this could be an issue with Gamma. When you look at this exported clip in QuickTime Player 7 does it look like it does in the Canvas or the DVD? In the QuickTime Player 7 preferences do you have "Enable Final Cut Studio color compatibility" checked?
