Finally got a little love from Capital One

I was discharged from CH7 April 2014. Since then I have gotten a car loan thru Ally for $25k and was added as an AU on a CU credit card with a CL of $1k. I tried the pre-approval think for Captial One several times and only got the "we are unable to find a match" response. Once I did a full app and reconned it and got the letter that I had too many old outstanding debt things. CO was incluced in my CH7 but there was a zero balance on it. I finally got up the nerve to try their secured and got an approval with a $49 deposit. The website said to increase my deposit to get a higher limit so I did $100 for my deposit. Figuring my limit will be $350 or so and will add an additional depsoit each month to get it to a higher limit. Not sure now if that opens the door or what for better cards they offer. My scores right now bounce all over the place depending on which formula they use so it goes anywhere from 600 to 671 depending on which company does it and which report they pull from.

People seem to really get dramatically different results, but for me, capital one has really treated me well. i spend alot (4000-7000) per month on cap one and i have gone from 1 card at 3000 to 5 cards totaling 50,000 in less than 2 years. congrats! YMMV

Sad to say that Apply isn't available for my GM Master Card from Capital One because it's has rewards features.
I'm planning to obtain a VISA Quicksliver CC fro Capital One. It also has reward features, does anyone know if this card is acceptable for Apple Pay ?

It should work fine. The rewards have nothing to do with not working. I also have a GM Master Card from Capital One. Only straight Capital One cards currently work ie: Quick Silver, Venture, etc. These cards are directly from/by Capital One. The Store/Company branded versions of Capital One will roll out later in the year or next. GM could not tell me exactly, but I would assume it won't take too long as more consumers will be asking that the branded cards be added to the list. Several new banks were added just this week. Before then only the major banks ie: Chase, Bank One, etc. were good with Visa/MC, now my bank USAA has been added. Hopefully the Store/Company versions of these cards will be added soon.

Finally got my 8800gt back from RMA and it artifacts, freezes and nvlddmkm error

The problems I am getting is the same before sending the card for RMA. Here's the problem with the card. It artifacts in games and freezed requiring a total system restart, sometimes if i am lucky i can call up task manager and end the game. Sometimes the screen would go black and you can hear the music in the background continue to play and sometimes the music loops over and over again. I can not get into playing any game now. It also artifacts on the windows desktop as well. Its so bad that it even happens when using Media player classic. it would just freeze and black out then the Nvlddmkm error would pop up and said it has recovered.
this card worked flawlessly for the first few months that i own it and then this happens. i believe its relating to bad memory on the graphics card, maybe??? i also have a msi 7300LE that i used during the RMA period, it has work without a glitch playing games and videos. it never crashed on me once. i was so glad to get my card back from RMA but only to be let down again.
The RMA process was pretty easy, it took less than a month. i believe they replaced the fan and top cover on my card for me, but i think its a memory problem on the card. I am not sure if they tested it before sending it back to me because the problem is still there.
Should i do a second rma, its going to take another month.

I am still leaning more toward a graphics card problem than a psu problem. Yesterday I was messing around with Riva Tuner I underclock my speeds to 590/14XX linked and 890. I was able to get into game play for like two minutes and then bam it freezed again. the core temp is at 45c to 55c. So its not related to heat issues.

My serial number for PS Elements 7 isn't working. I purchased it in 2011 and the computer that I was using it on broke. I finally got the download link from tech support but it keeps telling me my serial number isn't valid, now what?

I've been trying to figure this out for a long *** time now and it's getting seriously old. Anyone have any advice?

Did you buy PSE 7 as a download or as a set of discs?
PSE 9 was available in 2011 so I suspect you might have the disc set as I doubt Adobe would be selling older versions.
I believe that in the days of PSE 7, the download version and disc version had a different range of serial numbers and the two could not be interchanged.
If your serial number is for a disc version, then you need the installation discs to install it on your new system.

Capital One Automatic 6 Month 3X CLI

So I opened a Quicksilver card on 01/01/2015 after receiving some love letters from capital one. Last one even said they would guarantee a CLI after 6 months of good behavior. Apped, and got approved for the Visa Quicksilver with a $1000 CL. Fast-forward last Monday, Cap One came through and gave me a $2000 CLI.Has anyone else experienced the same with Cap One? What was your initial limit and consequential 6 month CLI?

I had two Cap1 that I opened two years ago, the inquiries just fell off all my reports lol. Anyway I was approved for a Platinum MC at $1000 and a $500 QSMC. They were both in the credit steps, the Plat got bumped to $1500 and the QSMC got bumped to $750. In January I got a $100 CLI on the QSMC, and a couple weeks later in Jan, got a $3500 CLI on the Plat to bring it up to $4500. I chatted and got it converted to a Quicksilver MC and also closed the QSMC account (which still had an annual fee). The Platinum card, even as a Platinum card never had an AF. The 6 month mark from my last CLI is on the 29th of July and I hope to get another nice CLI. I've been using the card pretty heavy too, As my NFCU Flagship statement is about to cut I switch my daily spend to the QSMC. That way I can let the NFCU Flagship report at zero. At the beginning of the month I'll pay off the Cap1 card to zero and switch by back to Flagship card. I figure the extra spending on it will make Cap1 happy and give me another nice CLI Oz

Another Capital One CLI! !!This time an increase of 4K!

Background: I opened my Capital One Quicksilver One card in February of this year with a SL of $500 and requested an increase in April. I was automatically approved for a $1,000 increase. Fast foward to last Saturday night (7/11/15) I decided to try for another CLI because I was nearly maxing out every month on my $1,500 credit line. I needed the ability to make more purchases as well as keep my utilization down. I applied online and received the 2 -3 business day notice. So Monday (7/13) I e-mailed the EO stating my request, my desired increase ($4,000), and reasoning for that desired increase. Yesterday (7/15) I received a call from a very nice woman from the executive office. She asked me a few questions, verified some information, and told me she would be sending my request to the underwriters. She said I would hear something back in 7-10 business days. This morning (7/16) I logged into my account and my credit limit is now $5,500! I am beyond happy with the quality of customer service and the quick turnaround. I'm also enrolled in the credit steps program. I am due for an automatic incease after my 5th payment. I just made my 5th payment a few days ago and my statement closes tomorrow! I'm curious to see if I'll get that increase as well. I would assume yes, but I'll have to wait and see. Extra info: I pay my high balances down every month leaving about 1 to 2% utilization reporting on my card.In my EO letter I mentioned that a $5,500 credit limit would match my Discover It credit line (just started reporting)UPDATE My 6th statement closed yesterday (7/17). When I logged in today (7/18) I saw another $500 increase due to my Credit Steps enrollment! Woohoo! Hello 6k credit line! I love you Capital One!

Capital One Venture shutting down rewards transfers - temporarily?

I just received this email from Capital One stating how rewards transfers will not be allowed after September 15. They say temporarily but I think that is unlikely. My wife and I both have cards and we consistently combine the points for bigger purchases. Transfers are the only reason we use the Venture over the Arrival+ which offers the 10% redemption bonus as otherwise they are basically identical. There are apparently some changes to the rewards structure of the Barclay Arrival Plus card that are not so good. They're bringing down the 10% bonus travel rebate earning to 5% starting sometime late 2015-2016 (depending on when you first applied and received the card). They're also increasing the minimum redemption amount from 2500 to 10K miles, which is a bit of a bummer. Things are definitely changing for this card - you can't even apply for one anymore (for the time being, that is).

Capital One and portfolio recovery

hi all I recieved a letter from capital one stating that my charged off cc account was sold to portfolio recovery. Portfolio recovery has not contacted me yet and they havent reported to the cra, so should i make the first move and contact them? Is it possible if i settle the account that they wont report it to the cra?

Reporting collections costs the CA/JDB money and they may not be willing to spend it if its been paid.

Capital One and Kohls

I have been blacklisted from Capital One they do not pull my reports and I have applied multiple time. They were included in my BK for under $300. My question is what do you think my chances for a Kohls card is? If I apply and get approved would that help me with a Capital One approval in the future? Any input would help! Thanks

At some point you will be approved by Capital One. I also included them in my Chapter 13, but I waited five years (I know, a long time) for a secured card. Now I have a Quicksilver and Venture. Were you trying to get a secured card? I don't know about Kohls. I just logged into my Cap1 account and clicked the services tab. Low and behold there's a link that says: Request Account Combination!!!The BIG catch is that your 1) account must be open for at least 6 months 2) 1 card must have a $0 balance and NO pending transactions. Go check it out, it will show on your screen which cards are eligible to be combined!!! BEST news ever from Capital One!!!

I got my system home and found that I had to upgrade most of my programs which I managed with a little help from my friends, but I still have one problem that I can't solve I have a Nikon Coolpix S6 that I have Been Syncing with my Iphoto since I've got it 3 years ago and now when I place it in the cradle the program reconizes it and says that it is going to start to import the new photos the little white wheel in the center of the screen starts spinning but nothing else happens. I checked all my connections and they are goog plus I even downloaded a nikon progam just to double check the camera & cradle and it works there but it wont pair off with my IPhoto.

First go to iPhoto Preferences, look in both General and Advanced tabs to make sure that things are set to import from camera into iPhoto.
Then if that doesn't help, connect the camera and open Image Capture in your Applications > Utilities folder and see if you can use Image Capture to reset the import path from the camera to iPhoto.

Basic Backup
For some people Time Machine will be more than adequate. Time Machine is part of OS X. There are two components:
1. A Time Machine preferences panel as part of System Preferences;
2. A Time Machine application located in the Applications folder. It is
     used to manage backups and to restore backups. Time Machine
     requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the
     drive being backed up.
Alternatively, get an external drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):

Enclosures for FireWire and USB are readily available. You can find only FireWire enclosures, only USB enclosures, and enclosures that feature multiple ports. I would stress getting enclosures that use the Oxford chipsets especially for Firewire drives (911, 921, 922, for example.) You can find enclosures at places such as;

Capital One Credit Steps increase plus a little EO help

I recently had my 6th statement cut on my QS1 Cap One card. I was able to get an increase from 500 to 1500 after 3rd statement. So the day after the 6th statement cut it increased again to 2000. I was very happy with this but also wondered if there was any possibility of a little more available. I have run close to 8000 through the card over the first 6 months. I sent an email to the eo office, someone called me within about 2 hours and 3 days later I saw an additional 1000 to bring my new cl; to 3000.00. Capital one has been amazing to me. Even when they have said no, it has been with such niceness that I can't help but smile and say oh well, Ill get it next time.

You can sync multiple folders to the iPad, as long as they are under the same parent folder on your computer so that you can then select and sync them to the iPad together in one go, as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - each folder will get it's own album on the iPad. Not including them in a subsequent sync is how you delete them from the iPad (as you've found out).
