FINALLY, iTunes Store Working

I have been dealing with Apple, my DSL and Norton for over a month about iTunes Store not loading and telling me I don't have a connection when I did. I went through all the threads etc and Apple and Norton were helping me. I am a teacher and my tech person looked at my laptop. There is a bug in the new update of iTunes that is causing your Norton/McAfee or whatever not to update, silently causing this problem. We uninstalled Norton and iTunes loaded back up. Then we installed Norton Internet Security 2008 again and iTunes Store is still working. Maybe this will help ones who are having trouble.

Hello,
I have Norton but the package does not include Norton Internet security. After I upgraded both Itunes and Norton recently, I cannot log on to the server or the store. How do I fix the bug in Norton?
This is the info I get on diagnostics

  • The itunes store works for everything except apps, how do I fix this??

the itunes store works for books, music etc but NOT apps - how do I fix this?  I downloaded the latest version and that did not help.

You have posted in the mac Apps Store forum, which is entirelt different than the itunes store adn teh apps store from within the itunes store.
Are you looking for apps for your computer ( he Mac app store) or apps for your ipod/iphone/ipad ( itunes app store)?

  • Will the Google Docs app in the iTunes store work with my new iMac? Description states it works with the iPod, iPhone and iPad.

Will the Google Docs app in the iTunes store work with my new iMac? Description states it works with the iPod, iPhone and iPad.

There's iOS apps for iOS which is what iPods, iPads, and iPhones use.  Then there are Mac Apps (which is a different store) which is what run on a computer with OSX.

  • Itunes store working one day then not next day HELP?

I have been happily using itunes for a while a regularly buy music from it. I bought an item as recently as 27th june. However, since going to bed and waking up my itunes will occasionally open up itunes store but wont perform a power search, claiming that my connection settings may be wrong.
Now i dont want to be rude to apple but it is presumtious to assume that the problem is at my end....
Firstly: it worked fine last night and now doesnt.
Secondly: I haven't touched any of my settings so why is it not working.
Thirdly: Why doesnt the store have an option to check network service status, like microsoft msn messenger has. Then i would now if it was a fault or just busy traffic.
    PLEASE HELP ME????

On your third point, iTunes does have a network diagnostics feature on the Help Menu:

  • Itunes store worked untill I downloaded the new one

When I first downloaded itunes the store worked fine. I recently downloaded the new one 9 and now when I try to buy any thing I just get a message that with the number (309) that says store failure to open and to try again later. I have been trying for a week. I was told that the store is running fine but now that I have read these other postings I know it's not my computer. I checked my firewalls everything one of the support people told me to do an nothing changed. I have money waiting on there and can't do anything with it. As soon as someone finds out what is going on please share with me : ) Atleast I know I'm not crazy. If apple is having a problem with 9 or the store shouldn't we have been told by now? I was told there was no problem yeah. I wish I would have never hit that upgrade button maybe this wouldn't have happened.Anyways if anyone has any info please help. Thank you
    Amanda

Are you running any of Symantec's (Norton) or McAfee's Internet security products or anything similar, or an antivirus/antispyware application? There have been reports that some such utilities treat an upgrade to iTunes as a new application and can block the application from connecting. So you have to go in and reset the utility to allow iTunes. The same thing can happen if you upgrade the security product (this has particularly been a problem with recent McAfee upgrades).
Check the settings for your utility. If iTunes is still listed, remove and re-enable the exception for iTunes. Consult your utility's documentation for the appropriate procedure. If you have Norton, you can find instructions for that utility on Symantec's web page for iTunes. You may also need to check the built-in Windows firewall as well.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is iTunes store working?

The iTunes store isn't working for me. As usual, if I try to purchase a video or song I get the "Sign in to download..." page. But after entering Apple ID and password, and pressing Get, nothing happens. (And the purchase does not show up under Store | Purchased, nor "Store | Check for purchases...") Furthermore, if on the sign in page I press Forgot Password?, I'm sent to my browser on a page that never loads.
Is anyone else having this problem? (Is anyone not having this problem?)

My husband is having what appears to be a related problem. He just bought a new iPhone yesterday, and just installed the iTunes update today. After the update he tried to purchase some music and was first told iTunes had been reset and didn't recognize his ID. We tried signing out and signing in again, same thing. We tried resetting the password on Apple (which appeared to work), but if he tries to sign into iTunes, he just keeps getting a 5002 error. Unless we can find a solution in the forums, it looks like we'll be on the phone with Apple Care again.

  • ITunes Store works very slow or does not connect with my account.

When I use my account to sign into the iTunes store, the store either (1) Operates very very slowly or (2) Ignores my request or (3) Reports an unknown connection error. This happens on ANY Mac computer (Windows not tested). Problem moves with the account to other machines. Other accounts work fast and fine. Store works rapidly when signed out. Logging into an Apple website with my id works fine. Tried managing my id. Nothing changed. Started experiencing problems today (December 25, 2011) when trying to purchase iTunes Certs. for Christmas gifts. I have one of those old mac.com Apple IDs. Very odd. Ideas?

    jmgg0025,
Is there something in common between our accounts. It appears we are/were getting routed to a different server than most perhaps.
    1. I'm a iPhone Developer.
    2. My apple id is [email protected]
    3. My account predates the itunes store.
    Ideas?

  • App store and Itunes store working on ipod touch.

I have and ipod touch (4g) and like in the united states. All of a sudden, randomly when i attempted to download a podcast on the itunes store on my ipod, a message popped up and said something along the line of "this item is currently not available in the Zimbaebwa store" now there is virtually no content what so ever that usually would be on my app store and itunes store. It seems like my ipod thinks its in Zimbaebwa. I have already restored settings on ipod. Should i do a factory reset on the computer or what?
    Thank you.

  • AppleID Cannot Be Used for iTunes Store - WORK AROUND

This is a problem with Apple's servers.
To work around this issue, go to SETTINGS then GENERAL then DATE AND TIME and turn OFF 'Set Automatically'.
Change the date to December 11th.
Log back in to Apple Store.
Then change the time back to SET AUTOMATICALLY.
For now, do this EACH time you want to change AppleID's.

thank you - this worked for me!

  • ITunes store works on administrator, crawls on other users

I have Vista, and Norton Internet Security. Using the admistrator user screen, iTunes and the iStore work fine. When another user logs on to the computer, accessing the iStore takes almost five minutes, is able to access at all. iTunes is set in the Norton firewall to access. Anyone have any ideas?

Several other folks have posted about this. If you search discussions in "itunes for windows" on parental you should find the older threads.
I suggest you send feedback to Apple on it.

  • ITunes Store Crashes Windows 8.1 | QTMovieWin.dll fix did NOT work

I am running iTunes 11.1.3 on Windows 8.1 64 bit. iTunes and the iTunes Store worked prior to my upgrade to from Windows 8 to 8.1. Every time I attempt to access the iTunes Store or anything associated with it, iTunes crashes. I have tried the QTMovieWin.dll fix by thurdy, which failed to work. I have also attempted booting iTunes into safe mode, loading iTunes under another user in Windows, and have checked for third-party plug-ins. None of this has worked. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
