Finally upgrading from 10.5 to 10.6; what should I do about drivers for photo printer and Nikon slide scanner?

Finally upgrading to 10.6 from 10.5.8. What do I need to do about drivers for my epson photo printer and nikon slide scanner? May be going all the way to 10.8.

I suggest you determine if compatible drivers are available either in the OS X drivers package or directly from the manufacturer. The following has a link for application compatibility. You can check this, too:

You can't download drivers, or any other software, via a browser on the iPad. If the printer isn't the HP Photosmart 5510 e-AiO B111a which supports AirPrint, and it also isn't supported by HP's ePrint app, then you can see if any of the third-party printer apps such as Print Central For iPad or Print n Share work with it.

The error code 4MOT/4/4000003:HDD-1393 has shown up from the apple hardware test. What should I do about this?

My iMac has been running a little hot, it was suggested to run the Apple hardware test (AHT), as heat can cause problems witht he hard drive.
The AHT revealed the error code 4MOT/4/4000003:HDD-1393 which I assume means a hard dtrive problem. But, what do I do. Is this a critical error or a minor fault. Everything is running as normal, but the machine is getting a little hotter than usual.

This indicates problem with HD fan.
Exact nature of the problem is only known to Apple.
We have no way to interpret this error code.
Keep a backup of your data.
When you get a chance, take the Mac to the nearest Apple store to have it tested.

You don't need to have Lightroom 3 and 4 installed on your computer to install Lightroom 5. Just install Lightroom 5 and input your serial number for 3 in the previous version box and your serial number for 5 in the upgrade box.

I was wondering if I could upgrade from osx tiger v10.4.11 to osx Snow Leopard v10.6 for 29$ or at a lower cost than full price. I do not need to upgrade that much because 10.4.11 is so great and I hate to leave it. Paying the full price of an operating system does not make sense to me. Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Having upgraded from 8.1 to windows 10, what is on the recovery drive?

I am new to the forum, I hope I have posted in the right place. Having upgraded from 8.1 to windows 10, what is on the recovery drive? if its not windows 10 what must I do to create a new recovery drive? or should I delete it? I have a USB recovery for windows 8.1 if I should need it. I have created a windows 10 repair disk and have a system image on an external hard drive. I dont beleave I actually need the recovery drive as I have a backup option, but I would be good to have the option to recover from the drive. I understand the backup otion I have will allow me to recover if I lose the drive. Please advise Thank you in advance.

Your recovery partition will still be Windows 8.1. Hp wont give you free Windows 10 recovery media even if your laptop is brand new with Windows 8.1 installed.

Well, distribution groups don't really have a concept of "in" or "out". They only serve to distribute messages sent to them -- unless you're asking to know who was a member of the distribution group at the time a message was sent to the DL.
Message tracking logs hold the information you want, though. You'd have to look for EXPAND events that reference the distribution group and take the sender's e-mail address from that event. If the DL is a simple one that's not a member of any other groups
you could also look for RECEIVE events sent to the e-mail address of the group and get the sender's name from that event.
You can use Powershell extract the rows of data from the logs, but you'll have to write the code to get the data out of those rows and into a format you want. Perhaps LogParser could be useful in place of Powershell?

Just to make sure, open Mac App Store and click Purchases. Can you pause the download and restart it?

When you buy an iPhone in the U.S. it's locked to that country with the carrier you bought it for.
If you bought the device unlocked in the U.S. it's unlocked, you can use it on any carrier. Even one's outside the country.
If you want to do a repair on a device you bought in the U.S. and your using it in another country, you must send it back to the U.S. Why? That's where you bought it from.
AppleCare Protection Plans and AppleCare Limited Warranties are registered to your hardware.
Your hardware is your iPhone.
Wherever hardware that was bought then that's the country it was designed to be used in and that's where it was manufactured.
Apple is very localized - if you call U.S. tech support, you'll speak to somone in your country.
So, what does all this mean?
In order to do a repair, you need to send it back to the country you got it from.
And we're all customers like you. We understand that you're upset, but Apple isn't gonna bend the rules to one individual.

You should have been syncing your contact with your computer all along. Just sync them from the computer to the new iphone.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Yesterday, I have downloaded the APPSGONEFREE and there is one App called the Victorian Mystery that is still free and i downloaded it. After a few minutes it pop up on my iphone homescreen, it can't be loaded. So I tried to delete it but it cant be deleted. (there is no x mark on top of it). I then use my itunes to synchronize it through my iphone but it wasnt able to delete it. I then bought the apps at apsstore ( Victorian Mystery), which is not free for today and I synchronize and it cant be installed on my Iphone. I just cant delete the APP. I need help.
