Financial Closing Cocipit in ECC 6.0 - Does it require NEW GL to be active

Hi,
Good Day.
Could anybody clarify if we need NEW GL to be activated in order to use the closing cockpit functionality. In other words, is the NEW GL a pre-requisite to use the closing cockpit functionality ? I could not find any supportive documents for this. It would be helpful if somebody could prove this or atleast negate this. Though we are in ECC 6.0 we have not yet activated the NEW GL and hence we are little confused on this closing cockpit functionality.

Hello Ravi,
Based on my personal experience, I would say you do not need the NEW G/L to be activated in order to configure and use closing cockpit functionality. We are on ECC 6.0 and still using classic G/L, however, I was able to configure closing cockpit in our sandbox, tested and it is working perfectly ok.
The only issue I have which is not quite a big deal is, we don't have the IMG/Menu for closing cockpit which under normal circumstance should be under closing. But the transaction codes works. Nevertheless, we are having enhancement package 4 implemented which I believe will make it visible.
I hope this should give you some clearance as to how to proceed.

ICR: Does ICR require New G/L Activation?

I've been prototyping ICR in a SBX enviroment with Leading Ledger activated. There was some talk of using the ICR tool for reconciliaitons before the New G/L is activated.
Is leading ledger required for ICR or can you specify any 'sender' ledger in FBICIMG and have the program work fine. What other considreations are there to be aware of before running ICR (if possible) without the Leading Ledger?

Hello John,
If you do not have NewGL activated in the sender system or do not need split information from NewGL then you should not enter a sender ledger for open items.

Financial Closing for Peru

Does anybody knows how to perform an entire financial closing fullfilling legal requirements for Peru, using standard SAP transactions?

I would like to seek for your advice as below question/problem.
a) User now is doing the year end closing. Normally the closing is up to the period 12 and for the purpose of track the adjustments made by the management and auditors user post to period 13 2008 from the pervious financial year. Our concern is when perform the GL Balance carry forward to new fiscal year which is 2009 does the system carry forward the GL adjustment figure from period 13 to the new fiscal year on top of that when we perform the GL balance carry forward to new fiscal year 2009 and later on find out there is an audit adjustment that need to done and user post in the period 13 fiscal year 2008 can the adjustment auto post to the new fiscal year?
b) Can we change the Rec account in the vendor master as currently user need to change the vendor from difference Rec account which from joint venture to subsidiary account code? If involve the SPRO configuration how where should we configure? After we change the configuration does all the posting from one Rec account subsidiary will auto post to another Rec account Joint venture?

For now I will give you the guide on asset accounting closing. If I find the time later, I will add FI. For asset accounting, proceed as follows:
1. Tcode: AJRW ( Fiscal Year Change). Enter your company code and new fiscal year. For example 2009 + 1 = 2010
2. Tcode: AJAB close fiscal year. For example 2009.

When you say you just purchased Formscentral exactly what do you mean? Formscentral has not been sold as a stand alone product in a while due to the decision to close the service. If you got Formscentral as part of a Acrobat subscription then you need to know that that part of the subscription will go away partially in June and fully in July. If you have indeed managed to purchase Formscentral standalone recently can you please give me the information about your purchase such as the date of purchase and link to the site from which you purchased. Refunds are available to customers who are not able to use the service though their contract period.

Form does not show "new" records from SQL Database

I have a PDF form that pulls data from a SQL Server. The fields in
the PDF are populated from the database after selecting a specific
record from a drop down and then clicking on a button labeled "Fill".
The problem is that the dropdown does not display new records that
have been recently added to the database. I have to open the form up
in designer then save it, (*note - I change nothing at this point.)
Then when the form is opened back up in Adobe the dropdown show all
the records including the new ones. I even put a manual refresh on
form to try and fix this an it did not help. Seriously stumped.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Does CR2011 require BOE Platform?

Dear Experts,
I have installed the trial version of CR2011 and managed to connect to ECC5.0 using ABAP imports and assigning correct SAP authorisations. I am able to develop reports based on infotypes/tables.
I am about to purchase this software CR2011.
However, does CR2011 require BOE (Business Object Enterprise) platform as a pre-requisite? I only need to connect to ECC and extract data from infotypes and tables.
Since my trial version is able to do that, without BOE, i assume CR2011 does not require BOE?

Hi Zul,
CR 2011 is a client tool which is independent of Business Objects Enterprise to create report. You can directly report of your datasources (ECC, etc.).
There is just an additional functionality given in Crystal Reports that if you have BOE then you can save your Crystal Reports to the BOE server using CR 2011. if you do not want to use BOE that is completely fine.
But if we want to use Crystal Reports for Enterprise (Which is another Crystal Report client tool for designing report based on universe .unx or on BEx queries), which require BOE 4.0 to be installed as it uses webservices. In your case i dont thing that you will be using Crystal Reports for Enterprise, as then you will not be able to use your ECC data source to create your reports.

My service provider's SMTP does not require a password but the option "non" does not appear on the IPOD Touch 5th gen. Fix?

I have relay.skynet.be as my outgoing server and it does not require/allow password protection. When configuring mail on the Ipod the option of "non" is not given for the outgoing server. Is this a skynet issue or is there an Ipod solution?

I am running Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0 on Windows Home Vista platform.
I keep getting this error message when I try to open Photoshop:
Current user does not have privileges to perform product activation. Run this application from a user account with administrative privileges or contact your system administrator.
I am the only owner & user of this software. I have re-installed the SW once (full install), and the error message went away for a while.
Now it's come back.
What do I do now?

Either disable UAC (User Access Controls) or run the application with Administrator rights.

Bluetooth icon on menu bar shows bluetooth off. When opening bluetooth preferences it shows the devices I've connected previously,( my mobile phone), and other devices I've attempted to connect but not very successfully: my iPhone and MiniMac. The bluetooth dongle in the USB port shows a continual blue light but does not react and the iBook does not recognise that it is there. There is absolutely no reaction when I try to pair my mobile phone, which I've done successfully before upgrading to Leopard, either by the iBook or the mobile phone.

I'm having the same issues. Started when I upgraded iphone 4S and ipad1 to 5.1.1. Wife's iphone 4g on 4.4.2 has been ok. I've forgot the network on both devices and restored the iphone, none of which changed the issue. I've upgraded to ios 6 on the iphone 4s, problem still persists.
One thing that will help for a time: go to your router and change the wireless control channel. When I first did this I got full connectivity for about 48 hours... and now the problem is back. I'm now changing the wireless control channel every 12 hours, which is a pain but at least keeps me connected. I've tried a few other solutions that are out there and that has been the best one so far.
to do this on a motorola router: type 192.168.0.1 in your address bar.
username: admin and password:motorola if you have not changed the factory defaults.
Click on the word "wireless" and look for the "control channel" field. This may be set to auto or to 1, try changing it to 6 or 11 (preferred) or any other channel.
The control channel can cause static in the wireless system IF there are several networks nearby that are on the default setup.
There is a fair bit of buzz about this issue out there, some other things I've seen:
This is a hardware issue. Go to the store and have your wifi antenna checked, some users reporting that they get free replacement devices.
Check against other wifi networks that require a password (this is next for me). Logon to those networks and surf until your wifi stops. If your wifi connects to the internet but stops responding, then this is a software (or hardware) issue and apple needs to step up. Some are claiming this to be the case.
IF you connect and stay connected/on the internet on another password protected wifi, then the issue is with your router. this is where things get cute.
Comcast may tell you to update your firmware. Motorola may tell you that your cable provider is the only one who can push through firmware updates. Comcast may tell you that you are not in an area that is being updated. It's unclear if they say that to all customers, or just those who have purchased cable modems and aren't renting them from comcast.
Good luck, more to come if I figure out anything else, and please post any solutions you may find.

The questions about time was not only because of thinking about the Time Machine, but also possible impact on recognizing which messages remaining on a POP server (doesn't apply to IMAP) have been already downloaded. In the Mail folder, at its root level, in Mail 3.x there is a file named MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3 that should prevent duplicate downloading -- some servers may not communicate the best with respect to that, and the universal index must certainly be involved in updating that index file. If it corrupts, it can inhibit proper downloading. However, setting the account up in a New User Account and having the same problem does not point that way, unless your POP3 server is very different from most.
That universal index is also typically involved when messages are meant to be moved from the Inbox to another mailbox -- in Mail 3.x the message does not move, but rather is copied, and then erased from the origin mailbox. That requires updating the Envelope Index to keep track of where the message is, and should keep track of where it is supposed to have been removed after the "Move".
