Financial Reporting 11.1.1.3 installation problem

Dear all,
i'm not able to run Financial Reporting Studio 11.1.1.3 on my laptop after a fresh installation.
I don't reach the splah screen due to this error: "Run-Time error '429' ActiveX component can't create object".
Any idea how to manage this problem? Maybe some batch to run or properties file to change?
My OS laptop is a common Win XP Professional Edition.

1) I had downloaded Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Foundation Services, Product specific Essabase and Financial Management , and unzip into common folder . but stll iam not able to see Installtool.cmd
which part i have still dowloaded.

Financial Reporting studion installation issue

Hi,
I am not able to see the financial reporting studio tab after the installation of Hyperion suit.
We have configured financial reporting as well still we cannot able to see and open financial reporting.
I have tried to open studio from worksapce, but explore button is not visible. My ID is having admin rights.
Please suggest, how can I open financial reporting?

Getting below error message at the time of installing FR studio from workspace. Error 401--Unauthorized From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1: 10.4.2 401 Unauthorized The request requires user authentication. The response MUST include a WWW-Authenticate header field (section 14.46) containing a challenge applicable to the requested resource. The client MAY repeat the request with a suitable Authorization header field (section 14.8). If the request already included Authorization credentials, then the 401 response indicates that authorization has been refused for those credentials. If the 401 response contains the same challenge as the prior response, and the user agent has already attempted authentication at least once, then the user SHOULD be presented the entity that was given in the response, since that entity MAY include relevant diagnostic information. Problems Install Financial Reporting 11.1.2 Client on 32 bit machine

I am having issues installing Financial Reporting 11.1.2 on my 32 bit machine.
Per Oracle's read me document I:
- Downloaded all of the necessary files
- Unzipped them
- Placed all of the assemblies files into one assemblies folder with in the system installer folder
- Ran the InstallTool.cmd
- Received errors during the start of the installation
I have a feeling that I am missing a file, so I went to the edelivery site to double check. Turns out, the edelivery site does not have the 11.1.2 files or readme available.
Below is my log file, which mentions an upgrade. I currently do not have Can anyone assist?

Problem exporting a Financial Report to excel

Hello Everyone,
Of several users who have tested this functionality, I only have 1 user who is experiencing this problem, however we can't figure out what's wrong... Here is what is happening:
1. Run a financial report from the web-portal using HTML preview
2. Once the report is displayed in HTML, he goes to File | export | fully formated excel file (he also tried with the query ready report and had the same problem)
3. he is prompted to either save or open this xml file
4. he selects open, he gets an excel window and is prompted with the following: "Please select how you would like to open this file:" and the radio button options are: "as an xml list", "As a read-only workbook", "use the xml source task pane".
5. he selects "as an xml list" he then is prompted with the following: "The specified source does not refer to a schema. Excel will create a schema based on the xml source data."
6. he clicks on "ok" and the result is what looks like an excel pivot table except is says "error" in one of the cells and then an adjacent cell says: Logon Failed. User Name must not be empty.
No matter which combination of the options he chooses, he sees the same result.
In addition, I know it is not a problem with his ID b/c he can run the report AND export to excel just fine when he does it from my computer!
Has anyone seen this problem before? Is this maybe a setting that needs to be changed? etc...?
FYI - we are in the final stages of migrating to system 9 so our current configuration is as follows: Financial Reports / Workspace version 9.3.1 however his run time client on is version 7.1.2 and the essbase cube is version 9.3.1. I have several other people who have run the same report, against the same essbase cube, also using the ver 7 RTC and it works fine.
Any ideas???

Financial Reporting Studio Problem...

Hi John,
that my Variance problem was solved with the help of the last post, I created one Report in Financial Reporting Studio. But when I want to Web Preview for the report in Workspace I get the following message-
*5200: Error executing query: Unable to obtain a connection to Hyperion Essbase. If this problem persists, please contact your administrator.com.hyperion.planning.olap.NoAvailableOlapConnectionsException*
Then I thought of trying Print Preview which threw the same error.
What needs to be done John?? I restarted all the services and Essabse as well. But nothing helped.
Please advise.

John. I am sorry to ask this, a different question. Actually I just faced a severe problem while trying that report issue. I give the details below-
I created one group and assigned it only Dimension Editor and Application Creator roles. And further created one user and put it into that group.
Next created one application(*TestApp*) in Workspace yesterday. Now as I faced the FR issue and according to you I created one application(*app*) in Workspace, this time with admin(as you told) and tried to create report and eventually failed which wrote in one but last post.
Then according to your last reply I restarted the services and and entered the Workspace with the new user. But here comes the problem, I can't see my application that I had created under this user. All I could see is the application that I had created using admin(for trying the FR issue).
I mean... I am very confused.... created one application with a new user, but it got replaced by an application that was created with admin, and with a different name.
But I still can see the database in EAS and it is intact. And when right click on the TestApp and see the User/group access, I can see admin and that new user.
John pls don't get angry... I know it's a different issue.
Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Problem about financial reporting studio(assign multiple db connection)

I need to assign multiple database connections to a grid in Oracle Hyperion Financial Reporting Studio
To do this, I performed the following steps:
- Open a report.
- In a grid, select one column for which I want to change the database connection.
- In the Column Properties sheet, click the Select Database Connection button, .
- In the Select a Database Connection dialog box, select a database connection from the Database Connection drop-down list, then Click OK.
- In the Map Dimensions Between... dialog box, map dimensions between the default database connection and the selected database connection. I do this by selecting a dimension from the pull-down list in the right column for each dimension in the left column.
- Optional: Select an alias table for the new database connection.
- Click OK.
But after last step I have received next error:

java.lang.NullPointerException
Can someone explain the source of this error?
And help me please solve this problem because I didn’t receive figures in that column where I changed database connection.

I'm sure that both DB connections has the same dimension hierarchy. I can open the repot, but in it I don't see figures in that column where I've changed database connection...

Financial Reporting Studio Client Installation Error

Hi,
today i tried to install Financial Reporting Studio on my own computer to access the data stored on a server landscape. After successfull installation, when I try to login I receive the following error message: You are not Authorized to use this Functionality. Please contact Administrator
Nevertheless, I am the admin so I need to contact myself. I tried a lot of things today and read a lot of threads, still no solution. I can run the Reporting Studio from any of my servers and use the URL http://webserver:19000 It works when run from any of the servers. But when I try it from the "outside" I always get the error above. I can access all other Hyperion Components from my computer, hence the environment is configured right to that extend.
Do you have any suggestions on this error?

I have the same issue with 11.1.1.3 and Windows 7 which we recently installed.. Initially, Financial Reporting would not launch but after we did the steps mentioned below, we the studio opens and we can access our Repository. However, we get a 'Failed to connect to Server...' for each of our HFM and Essbase reports. Any ideas?

We followed the below steps
manually copy the following folders and files from a working 32-bit Windows machine:
<HYPERION>\common\JRE (This is needed for Studio startup.)
<HYPERION>\common\ADM\9.5.0.0\Essbase (This is needed for data source connections.)
<HYPERION>\products\biplus\lib\fr_client.properties (This defines the FR Client Logging settings.)
<HYPERION>\products\biplus\lib\fr_global.properties (This is needed to define the default
RMI port (FR Studio will try to use 1099 otherwise) and the location of the fr_client.properties file (or else the FRClient.log file doesn't get created).)
Note that if the Java Runtime (<HYPERION>\common\JRE ) was missing after initial installation, it will be necessary to manually execute <HYPERION>\products\biplus\install\bin\HrRunAnt.cmd. This is a Windows batch file used to perform post-install configuration steps; it depends on the presence of the java Runtime.

Financial report layout problem

Hi ALL,
I have a financial report definition, which has 5 levels. Every level I have to show a total row, which is constructed by former total rows
plus some new rows. I tried to use new Pivot functionality to construct this report ,
but the problem is that in one column you cannot delete total rows selectively from the table, so you will have total rows for the single new rows also. This causes that you will have too much total rows, duplicate total rows at the highest levels.
There is an example in the document "oracle-bi-ee-new-features-10gr3.pdf" about financial layout. It shows a correct Pivot report, it looks fine. But I cannot reconstruct this report.
Can you tell me how they could delete in this example duplicated "Total Fixed Assets" and duplicated "Total Investments" rows which must have been there before?

I don't think so, but you could just put the dimension inside of the report, merely for the purpose of the end-user being able to see the actual dimension name.

Problem with Periods' point of view on Financial Reporting Studio

Hy all,
i have a problem on some reports: i fix Periods' Point of View on Financial Reporting Studio signing in with Admin user. I do this to let other users see just a part of the dimension structure on workspace,but when i open workspace signing in with a generic user i can't see any changing: user can see all elements of the dimension. Otherwise If i sign on workspace with admin user i can see the Periods'POV i have fixed on reporting studio previously. So do you have any idea on what i can do to solve this problem?

Could u plz clarify your problem bit more.
Are you facing a problem while running the reports through work space..? While running the reports, is affected generic user getting a POV window..? If you are concerning about hierarchy that you select through POV window then It might be possible that POV might have got corrupted for that generic user and in that case we can delete the POV and set up the new POV again for that user.

Financial Report problem

We are receiving the following message trying to run a Financial Report.
5200 : Error executing query: [Wed Sep 01 10:45:15 2010]hs01db02/HS_BDG/Budget//Error(1260052) Syntax error in input MDX query on line 6 at token 'PROPERTIES'
If I move the 2 prompt dimensions into the row, it will run fine. But, as soon as you move them back to the pages dimension it gets this error message. Any ideas?

Financial Reporting - Problems with Point of View

Hi everbody,
My problem is: I have a report that use a Essbase Database Connection.
When I made the report, i didn't have any problems, but now when I access the FR studio and open the report i receive a message box "Unkown Error" and the POV is set to <Dimension>. The dimension that i set up to be the POV disappear and when i click to select the dimension the only option is the account dimension.
I tried recriate the report, change the layout design of the grid, but nothing happens. The only change that i made in the ESSBASE Application was increase the cache settings.
Anyone ?

Financial Report Installation?

I need to install the Financial Report on a client desktop. As we know, there are 5 components: Financial Report Sheduler Service,Financial Report print server service, Financial Report report server service, Financial Report web application, Financial Report studio client. I think: 1) I should install all of the 4 components on the web server 2) I only need to install the Financial Report Studio Client on the locally desktop for the client. 3). Set up connection from local Financial Report Studio to the server.

Hi,
You can also install the client on the server as well, this helps if you need to remote to the server for any reason and have to use the client.
You only need the client install on a a desktop client machine.
When everything is configured to set up planning/essbase connections from in the studio, if you want to manage connections you can do it from workspace.
