Financial Websites Access

I am getting so frustrated with my Blackberry Curve R8520. I have a Vodafone contract and the phone was supplied by Phones4U. I deal on the stock market and I need to be able to load Interactive Investor. The site is www.iii.co.uk No-one at Vodafone of Phones4U has any idea why this site won’t load. I keep getting error message: HTTP Error 403: Forbidden. We have tried everything including re-installing the Blackberry software, deleting the Cache, but no luck yet. Can you help me please. Otherwise I’m stuck with a 2 year contract on a phone that can’t do what I want it to do. I tried it on an i phone and no problem at all. I need to be able to access the financial web sites.
Thank you
Peter

That is a question for those websites to answer. Firefox 4.0 was released almost 4 months ago, IMO more than enough time for those 2 websites to verify that Firefox 4 & 5 are compliant with W3C standards.
To be able to access that FAFSA website, my advice is to install the Portable Firefox 3.6.19 version to your hard drive. It won't affect your other Firefox installation. <br />

  • Printing from websites accessed through Firefox is unitelligible - just symbols, whereas fine with Safari.

For the last week or so, whenever I try to print from a website accessed by Firefox (either to pdf or printer) the resulting pages(s) are completely unitellibible -- they look like a kind of code. I have McAfee- SitAdvisor is disabeled and Firefox has full access through the Firewall. My Windows FIrewall is turned off.
When I use Safari for the same operations, everything prints fine.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

I also have this problem. I believe it is caused by being connected through a proxy which is adding a second compression to the data. (I think IF uses gzip compression already).
    Added details:
    * Opera also works.
    * I can view the IF admin section on FF
    * I can view the forum if I go through a web proxy.

  • How do I get 128-bit encryption in Firefox 4.0 for a financial website?

I need 128-bit encryption capability on my web browser in order to use a specific financial website for bill paying, The site's encryption test shows that Firefox 4.0 (newly installed) does not provide that level of security. Help?

I think the www.opm.gov site may be looking for the '''U''' that was in the Firefox 3.6 and earlier useragents as it was one of the things removed in Firefox 4.0 and newer useagents. The site says it recognizes the browser but does not detect that your web browser supports 128-bit high encryption which contradicts.
The "U" stands for "USA" (for the version with 128-bit encryption) (since 1996).

  • Financial website doesn't recognize my computer and asks security questions each time I log in

When I sign into a financial website it doesn't remember my mac and requires me to answer security questions each time.  I called the website and they said the problem is with my mac's settings.  Anyone else have this problem?

They do it for YOUR protectoin and security and to avoid someone else pretending to be you.
They may or may not use cookies and other things.
it is possible it was designed to work with a differenent browser or even platform though I would say that has gotten rarer.
    Assuming you use Apple Safari
    Safari
    http://www.apple.com/support/safari
you are asking us to make assumptions and jump to conclusions also.
    Enable the Developer menu in Safari and User Agent setting to 'tell' a site you are using something else;
    try using Firefox 3.6.17 also.

  • Version 4.0.1 won't remember login information for my financial websites?

Each new day I have to reenter my login information for my financial websites, e.g. Chase, Citibank, etc. After I power down and turn the computer back on the information is lost. Does not happen with non-financial websites. I think, somehow, the cookies are being erased after powering down.

What was the exact wording of the error message?  If it said network timeout, try disabling the antivirus and firewall on the computer during the download and update.  Kaspersky is especially bad.

  • Security Upgrade 2007-002 (PPC) created website access problems?

I recently installed this upgrade, and I think it may be causing interference accessing certain websites, namely motleyfool.com, hotmail.com, and firstrade.com. I'm having this difficulty on multiple machines.
Is anyone else having this same problem?

Yes, and a little relieved to see I'm not the only one. I installed the upgrade 3 days ago, and I'm having major website access problems (including the one from the website co. I WORK for) and it has totally messed up my Entourage accounts. I can't send/receive any mail from one, and only intermittently from the other. Almost 2 hours with an Apple tech earlier to be told that the problem is probably with the upgrade and the only way to fix it is to archive and install. That seem like a nightmare, I'll have to reinstall everything I've installed in the last 2 years and update, customize, etc. Anyone have a better solution? Please, I'm desperate.

  • WRT160N Website Access Restrictions won't work for https sites

I have successfully configured a website blocking access policy that blocks http:\\www.facebook.com on a WRT160N V1 v1.02.2.  I did this by entering www.facebook.com  as URL #1 and "facebook" as a keyword and it works great.  However, I have found that this policy does not block https:\\www.facebook.com.  You would think the keyword would be able to block this but it doesn't work.  Please help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Was there a solution to blocking https://facebook........?
I've entered the http and the https url, in additon facebook as keywords. When doing a search for facebook it's blocked and doesn't retrieve anything. When typing in the http url it doesn't retrieve anything, but once i add that S to the http it pops up.
Has anyone found a solution to blocking  https/facebook?

  • In korea..limited website access.

My husband is in korea with his new mac book pro, attempting to sign on to his school website so he can do classwork, but his internet connection is acting funny. It is only giving him access to some site, and not others... mainly the ones he needs to get to (ie., school site, and apple.com).
Is there something he need to configure?
Or how does he scan to find out if he has a virus?
He is at a school in korea, using a shared internet connection I believe..if this helps.
    Thanks in advance!!

I don't know how it is in Korea, but many school website are only compatible with Internet Explorer. So instead of using Safari/Firefox, he should download Internet Explorer for Mac and give it a shot. Hope this helps!

  • Website access

    Hi All,
Wondering if you can help me. I use the wireless connection at my college library to access the internet and up until the last couple of weeks I had no problems with accessing the internet. I am now getting the error message - cannot connect to www.apple.com server or any parts of the apple website for that matter. I also tried www.sony.com and amazon to see if it was just a problem with apples server but it appears not. I can access other websites such as yahoo, google, ebay etc. Therefore, I can't understand why i can access certain websites and not others, I checked one of the desktop computers in the library to see if certain sites had been banned. I typed in www.apple.com and it worked without a hitch. I'd be very grateful for a fix to this very annoying problem.
ALso, can anyone please tell me - If I want to save a webpage within Safari and view it later on with my computer without an internet connection - how can i save it so it retains all the information including photographs or images etc. because i've tried a few different ways and it keeps opening with just text and no images.
    Thanks a million in advance.

You can save a web page with all the info on it if you go to File>Save As>Format Web Archive.
Sorry I can help with the web access.

  • Financial Reports Access

My reports that use "User POV" are giving the users the following error
5222: Unable to view report. You do not have access to the following members on the POV:
If I move the POV to Grid POV then it opens without error (even thought it's the same member). I also selected the member in my Financial Reports preference. I originally had 3 dimensions in User POV. Each gave the same error. I removed all and everything worked. As soon as I moved it back it started not working. The user does not have access to all members in the hierarchy (so they don't have access to the top member)
How do I set this up so User POV works properly for all users???
Basically the objective is to have the filter work with whatever member the user has access to but give them the option to switch to other member that the user has access to as well.
We are running 11.1.1.3 in production.

Yes I was getting an error every single time and preview removed the error. And no I didn't get a pop up box to switch it to something else.
This only occurs on dimensions you put security on it.
I actually figured out that you can do this for the user. Then once you have saved your user settings (in UserPOV). You can then remove the "preview" on and it still works without the error because my settings.
    Kind of bad design IMO

  • Financial Reporting "Access Denied" to HFM reports (11.1.1.3)

    Hi,
I have installed Financial Reporting 11.1.1.3 Client on a PC running Windows Vista 32 bit SP1. When I try to access to a report created form another PC that connects to HFM, it says "Error connectiong to server" and "Cannot connect to database "X": Access Denied". The native user is the same that created the report; on the same machine, I can succesfully access HFM applications from HFM client and Rule editor.
    Any idea?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I have similar issue and cannot find an answer.
My environment is 11.1.2.1 (upgrade from 11.1.1.3)
All applications working fine (planning, essbase, hfm).
I'm unable to change database connection to hfm (db change to essbase and Plannng works). Error says that I have wrong cluster/server configuration.
Question is how this configuration should lokks like. I already tested:
    1. HFMProd - this is cluster name and Server1 as a server in HFMProd cluster
    2. No cluster, just Server1
    3. HFMProd and Server1 in plus Server1 separately
In all cases the same message.
When I open FR studio I'm able to see reports (from workspace also).
When I try to open report I have an error due to some links to the old server ip (I guess this is taken from connection info that I can not change)
What is more I can create new Planning report in studio, but can not open through workspace.
From Workspace I can manage reporting services so everything is visible correctly (or should be :) ).
    Any idea?
    regards
    Karol

  • Top 12 website access freezes Safari

On certain websites (wired.com, for instance) Safari will totally freeze up with spinning beach ball whenever I access that site thru the Top 12 preview window. However, when I go there thru my bookmark bar on top I have no problems at all. I'm using Safari 4.0.3. Anybody else having the same freeze problems when using the Top 12 access? Any ideas what it could be?
    Thanks.

    Greetings,
This could be any number of things. But try this to see if it might solve your problem:
Quit Safari if it's running and open System Preferences>Network.
In the DNS Server tab, make sure IPv6 is turned off, and enter these two DNS servers to replace the ones you currently have:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
click Apply Now and quit System Preferences.
Next, do these things in order:
    1. Go to Home/Library/Cookies and delete the Cookies.plist file.
    2. Go to Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
    3. Go to Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Web Page Previews and delete the contents of that folder.
    4. If you don't want to use the Top Sites feature, open Terminal and paste in this command:
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSnapshotsUpdatePolicy -int 2
    5. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
    6. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
    7. Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete these files (if you have them):
    Downloads.plist
    History.plist
    Form Values
    LastSession.plist
    WebpageIcons.db
Then repair permissions and restart Safari and see if the problem continues.

  • New problem printing from financial websites - print button sends file to a "cgi" extension and adobe cannot open and print.

I used to be able to print my bank statements directly from the website to my printer. Now the print program sends the file to a file with a "cgi" extension and saves it on my desktop but as an Adobe file. When i open it to print, Adobe says it is not supported or corrupt. running windows 7 on PC.

    mmsteer,
I think I may be able to help you with this problem, which I was having with CS4 when I first upgraded to Lion, and others were having with CS3. This fix is courtesy of Aisolve on these discussion boards:
Remove the Adobe PDF PPDs from the following folders:
    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/en.lproj,
    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_CN.lproj,
    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Ja.lproj,
    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/ko.lproj,
    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_TW.lproj,
Be sure to go to your system Library, not your user Library.
Also, regarding my current problem, I spoke with an Apple tech person and found that the 10.7.2 upgrade apparently is the culprit, and is incompatible with wireless printing to my Lanier printer. I CAN print connected through USB. That's a work-around for now, but I'll need to contact Lanier about upgrading their driver for OS X 10.7.2.
Aisolve was helping me with this issue, too, and assures me that if I'm able to generate a postscript file (which I was), and able to generate a PDF by distlling it through Adobe Distiller (which I am), then I can safely assume that the problem lies with the hardware, in this case the printer driver. This lines up with what Apple told me.

  • Invisible Text in Flash Player on Financial Website

Just spent an hour on the phone with one of my financial sites on which I can no longer see some important text. They tried everything, none of which worked, and concluded it must be incompatibility of the adobe flash and Snow Leopard. It started right after installation of Snow Leopard. I've since learned that others have this problem too. Any suggestions on how to get this fixed? What can I do?

It's great that you've isolated the problem to the User account.
You can usually just drag a plist or sub-folder of preferences to your desktop and an application will replace the missing preference file automatically as needed. You can delete the files when the problem is fixed.
In your User folder which is often represented in a path as a ~ character there are several Flash related locations.
    ~/Library/Caches/Adobe/Flash Player
You can dump the cache to see if it's causing a problem.
    ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player
Here, there are several folders like #Security, #Shared Objects, etc. You can move these folders to the desktop and see if the problem goes away.
    ~/Library/Preferences/Flash 10 MRU
Move the file to the desktop.
If you move the folders to your desktop, you could put them back if desired.
If you remove all of these references from your machine and have to reinstall flash, that's a good thing, but not a usual occurrence for programs like this.
You might have other preference files that I don't have on my system, and I might have older files laying around in mine because they haven't been noticed as a problem. Typically these files are so small, that they don't matter to anyone.
Hope this helps. Preference files can be challenging to isolate.
