Hi,
Have got to upgrade GL, AP, AR & FA for a customer running on 10.7 to 11.5.9.
1) Any comparitive prasentation will help:
For this as a functional consultant I have got to demonstrate to the end users how to do in 11i, all the functionalities that are being done in the current 10.7.
What I mean here is, I need not demonstrate delta features. But I need to show how to do the functionality existing in 10.7 in the new 11i.
2) Test Scripts:
This again to show that there is no data loss & that all the reports etc are working fine. Just to prove that every thing is running as usual, post upgrade

Upgrade Presenter 8 to Presenter 10

I want to upgrade Presenter 8 to Presenter 10. What is the cost and why do I have to have Presenter 9 if I want to upgrade to Presenter 10, according to all of the online upgrade options?
Trying to ask a question is very frustrating. There is no phone number listed. When following the links for support it directs me to community forums but there is no Presenter forum. I sent an email yesterday from the Presenter 10 support site but have gotten no answers. I own presenter 8, I want to upgrade. It would appear that I am happy with the product because I want to upgrade yet you do not respond.

You can use a IEAK 10 to deploy the installation of IE 10, build your own package, you can add any additional installations or updates you may want to tack onto your Internet Explorer 10 instal.

fix:
To relink the Oracle8i or Oracle9i database:
1. Change directory to the Oracle8i or Oracle9i $ORACLE_HOME (${ORACLE_SID}db/8.
1.7 if the instance is using an Oracle8i database).
2. Source the ${ORACLE_SID}.env file.
3. Run "relink all" .
To relink the Oracle8 (8.0.6) programs:
1. Change directory to the Oracle8 $ORACLE_HOME (${ORACLE_SID}ora/8.0.6).
2. Source the ${ORACLE_SID}.env file.
3. cd $ORACLE_HOME/bin
4. gensyslib

10.7 to 11i Upgrade Horror Stories?

I am interested in hearing any horror stories re: 10.7 to 11i upgrade on SUN. How long to upgrade a 400Gb db (PA alone is 95Gb and AP is 90Gb)? my E10K has 12 cpus and 6Gb of memory. Any ideas?

We have several situations on the go for upgrades. THe main problem is that the process is not optimised at all. You need to see which processes take the time (depending on the volume of data in each table) and look at how to optimise. We have an OPM situation where one process went from 20 hours to 2 hours by making some simple performance changes. I believe that when the developers create the migration process they work with a very small number of records so the timing issues are not as obvious. Also look at getting 11.5.3. at this point to avoid the process of 11.5.2 to 11.5.3.

11i upgrade(11.5.3 11.5.8) using rapid and cloning.

Has anybody done this kind of an upgrade...?
(11i upgrade(from 11.5.3 > 11.5.8) using rapid and cloning).
I would like to use rapid install to install 11.5.8 base and then i would like to clone the current instance to the newly installed 11.5.8 instance and if needed apply the 11.5.8 maintenance pack.
If anybody done like this, please provide me the step by step procedure.I am cofused whether i need to apply 11.5.8 maintanance pack after cloning to 11.5.8 or not?

I installed 11.5.8 on both tiers and removed the default database and restored production DB and upgrade it to 8.1.7.4.But now the sysadmin and jtflogins are not working... it seemd like DB configuration parameters are still pointing to production.
So how you clone the database from old version to the new one and upgraded...... please let me know... i already cloned and upgraded it.. but i do have connection issues....
Beside that I also found the new 11.5.8 database instances has around 360 tablespace where as 11.5.3 has only around 290,probably according to the modules i selected... so that's not an issue.. but how can i resolve sysadmin and jtflogin errors using old database(which is now upgraded to 8.1.7.4)

How to 10gR2 from db 9.2.0.5 - 11i upgrade purpose

Hello,
I have downloaded database 10.2.0.1.0 to upgrade from 9.2.0.5 which is not supporting my OS (Oracle Linux 5.7 32bit)
and
I tried to install patch set 9.2.0.8.0 in top of 9.2.0.5.0 which is also not supported.
1.Where i need to download database 10gR2 which will support Oracle Linux 5.7 32bit
2.I am tring to upgrade 11i to r12.1.1 path-E (db version: 11.2.0.2 apps version:11.5.10.2)
3.now i am on db-9.2.0.5.0 so i need to upgrade (9.2.0.5.0 >> 9.2.0.8.0 >> 11.2.0.2) or (9.2.0.5.0 >> 10.2.X.X.X >> 11.2.0.2)
4. MY issue is above version (9.2.0.8.0 & 10.2.X.X.X) are not supporting my OS Oracle Linux 5.7 32bit
Please help me to move forward..

Which patchsets to apply before 11.03 - 11i upgrade?

What is the best way to find out which patchsets I need to apply before beginning the upgrade from 11.03 to 11i? We are running Government Financials and we are only on patchset D for most modules including FND. I am fairly new to apps and am getting very frustrated trying to determine how to get this information. It is my understanding that the patchset levels need to match up and you can't go a lot higher on one module without patching the others... additionally we do have several bugs especially in Purchasing.

Bookmarking no longer working after upgrading Presenter

I just upgraded my Breeze Presenter to version 5.1.269 to fix
a few bugs that had propped up in when we upgraded PowerPoint to
the 2003 version. Well I fixed mouse timing problems but I now have
a problem with bookmarking in my LMS. I publish all my Breeze
pieces on Docent 6.5 and I have never had a problem with bookmarks,
but now every PowerPoint I publish always resumes from the initial
frame. this is a huge problem for me because many of my Breeze
courses are well over 50 frames.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
We had this problem, too. As you know, Breeze allows you to
offer presentations online in two forms: as a "course" (one item,
max), and as a "curriculum" (multiple items). Breeze doesn't have
any trouble remembering where the student left off when the
presentation is in a course, but it apparently can't keep track of
it when in a curriculum.
The solution was simple: Make all the Breeze presentations
into courses, then add those courses to the curriculum, instead of
adding the presentation directly. The student will never know the
difference and, as an added benefit, you can get cumulative data
reports by looking at the course (if your presentation is part of
more than one curriculum - especially useful for cumulative "who's
completed it" lists).
Now, if they'd only let us add curriculums to curriculums....

11i upgrade - Step: Apply latest product patches (required)

I am in the process of upgrading 11.5.9 (DB 9.2.0.4) to 12.1.1 (DB 10.2.0.5).
As part of the upgrade steps in document titled *"Oracle® E-Business Suite Upgrade Guide Release 11i to 12.1.1 Part No. / E16342-04 / August 2010"*, I was directed to apply the latest product patche. Chapter 3, section 5.
I downloaded the latest copy of the patchsets.sh from Oracle and ran it with the following parameters:
patchsets.sh connect=apps/<apps_password> available=metalink
This tool generated a bunch of reports including one called "Report.txt" and "Report_R12.txt"
Which one of these patches am I supposed to download and apply to be able to continue with the upgrade?

How to Install 10gR2 from db 9.2.0.5 - 11i upgrade purpose

I have checked the certification details in Metalink.. Linux 5.7 is certified for 9.2 and 10gR2 as well..
But while i install the 9.2.0.8.0 patch set the below error..

11i Upgrade - Projects Pre-Upgrade steps

We are upgrading from 10.7SC to 11i (11.5.2) and in running several of the Category 2 pre-upgrade steps, we have found that only really old projects show up as exceptions that should be "fixed" prior to the upgrade.
These projects are now closed and the revenue/invoices etc. are for prior fiscal years. We will probably get accounting errors (from flexfield/acct combinations that have been disabled) if we try to process the old transactions. We are also not sure that we want to write revenue events or create changes for fiscal years already closed.
Has anyone else seen this? How did you handle it -- did you reopen projects, re-enable accounts and process the exceptions noted by the scripts? Will upgrade FAIL because of the presence of these exceptions?
Any input you can provide would be helpful.
