FINBASIS 604 and SEM-BW 604

Dear all,
We are currently using the following components :
SEM-BW 602 SP04
FINBASIS 602 SP04
SAP_BW 700 SP20
We would like to upgrade to
SEM-BW 604 SP05
FINBASIS 604 SP05
Apparently, according the notes I read, we need to be in SAP_BW 701 : can you please confirm that this is a pre-requisite (i-e it is not possible to stay in SAP_BW 700) ?

Hello Thibaud,
You are right. For SEM-BW & FINBASIS EhP4 it is necessary to use NetWeaver 7.0 EhP1. And since SAP_BW 701 is a software component of NW 7.0 EhP1, it is essential to upgrade accordingly.
In this regard please also check the SAP Notes 1143022 & 1243791, wherein the information is exhaustive.

We are upgrading out BW 3.5 system to BW NetWeaver 7.01. Later on we also plan to implement BCS in this system.
I am wondering whether I should upgrade to SEM-BW 604 rather than to SEM-BW 600 ?

Hi Handoko,
SEM-BCS comes from ERP actually and is logically located to ERP (History: EC-CS is a fix part of ERP).
SEM-BCS uses a lot of BW-metholody and techically it is therefore very near to BW.
FINBASIS and SEM-BW are a part of this and always stick together. So, just do a twin-action, never one side.
SAP started to use EHPs (also EPs called - Enhancement Packages) to upgrade their products which are based on ECC.
SEM-BCS also gets its updates via EHPs. The base is 6.00 and every EHP changes the .XX number. So, 6.04 is the 6.00 SEM-BCS with EHP 4. The EHPs include a lot of new functions and the support packages going with that (FINBASIS and SEM-BCS) are very recommended. They include the last status regarding SAP notes.
I would upgrade to 6.04 and get the newsets support package level. But you don't have to use the business functions of EHP4. You can select them seperatly. Check the notes for that, they describe more details.

According with this PDF, if you need update FINBASIS 604 and SEM-BW 604, you'll need select at least one of the following technical usages during the MOPZ transaction.
For FINBASIS => Catch Weight Management or Financial Supply Chain Mgmt or Strategic Enterprise Mgmt or
For SEM-BW => Catch Weight Management or Strategic Enterprise Mgmt.

Single Sign On and SEM

Hi Guys,
I have implemented the SSO for BW 3.5 and SEM 4.0 with Enterprise Portal 5.0. For BW work very well, but with SEM it is still asking the user and pass. The strange is if I execute first a BW report and next access SEM it work, but if i execute the SEM first, it doesn't.

the form field names should be sap-user and sap-password for user id and pwd and you should also send the sap-client to direct to particular client and sap-language can be passed else system will take the default language

BI-IP is under contruction and wil be replaced later instead of BW-BPS. For the mean time BW-BPS will exist parallel.

This is the theorie. In the praxis there are big differences and BI-IP is in a "very eraly stage", you should have at least SP 10, better wait for 12 to able to have at least the most important functionalities in BI-IP.
e. g. you can not plan on hierarchy nodes (e. g. you dont have standard distribute function to distribute from # in a query). This is available from SP12. And so on....

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches after installing new software or apps.
If this does not work, set it up as new device, explained here:

If still no luck, get it serviced by Apple or visit an Authorized Apple Service Provider next to your place and let them have a look at your device.

MAP for Finished and Semi Finished goods

Dear Friends,
Please let me know;
1. If Finished and Semi finsihed goods are maintained with price indicator 'S' and all are inhouse production then SAP updata moving average price or these material or not ?
2. If SAP updata MAP for finished and semi-finished, later can we change map manually or not ? if yes How ?
3. Is there any way to stop updata of map by sap in case of finsihed and semifinished goods.
Actually according to my product costing variant, I dont need any price in map of FG and SFG. Kindly give me your expert openion on this issue.

1. If you maintain price control S for inhouse produced finished product also, system updates moving average price with resepect stock and value of production (may be period wise production cost may be varying). But this is statistical.
2. You can change price control from S to V if you require. You need to change first in material type and then change in material master.
3. If the value is getting updated also it will have no impact. In case of product cost variant also it will get updated.

SEM-BCS - SAP Netweaver BI 7.0 and SEM-BW 600 -add on install issue

Dear BCS Consultants:
My client has installed NWeaver BI 7.0 and SEM BW 600 - add-on.
However, when I tried to access BCS, it says 'lock table overflow'.
Am I supposed to configure something before I access BCS or it is a Basis issue?
Is there any other support package to be installed?
Please guide me.

Yes..This is a Basis Issue. I got the same error and the Basis resolved it.
Btw...Did you guys install SEM 6.0 on top of BI 7.0 right ?

CRM2007 upgrade with BI 7.0 and SEM 6.0

Scenario: We currently use Opportunity Planning on CRM 4.0, (with BI 3.5 and SEM 4.0). We are upgrading to CRM2007 using only the Sales "Account and Contact Management" and Sales "Lead and Opportunity Management" scenarios in this phase.
We know that upgrade to BI 7.0 is required to support Lead and Opportunity Management and that BI 7.0 will only work with the SEM 6.0 version. We are on ECC 5.0 and do not plan an upgrade to ECC 6.0 at this time.
Question: Can someone confirm 1) that SEM 6.0 is required with BI 7.0 and, 2) If required, can we upgrade to SEM 6.0 in conjunction with our BI upgrade versus as part of a larger upgrade to ECC 6.0 (which now includes the SEM 6.0 component)?

2) We do have the SEM 4.0 addon in existing BI 3.5. Where can we get the media for the SEM 6.0 upgrade so we can upgrade with BI 7.0? We have only been able to locate it packaged with ECC 6.0 media. Can we obtain it separately?---> The media can be obtained from SAP itself or else you can download the same from SAP ServiceMarketplace.
The Upgrade CDs for BI 7.0 are Netweavers2004s CDs only,it contains all the required media for upgrade of both BI and SEM simultaneously.
3) Our ECC 5.0 does not contain any SEM component. I don't believe it is packaged with ECC until 6.0. Is that correct? Our BCS consolidation uses the SEM 4.0 component in our BI 3.5.------> We can get the SEM compoenet for ECC 5.0 also. The SEM can be more customized with BI or WAS700.

The other functionalities on SAP you have mentions are different tools developed by sap.
for example: SEM(Strategic Enterprise Mgt) also has different functionalities inside it like BPS, BCS, CPM..etc. Most probably they are referring to BPS because its a planning tool and from 3.5 version of BW onwards its integrated with BW boxes. You will be dealing with planning data..transactional cube.

CRM(Customer Relationtionship Mgt) here you will be working with data to mange the relation of the customer in the industries...and they might have requirements that you need to bring the data from CRM to BW for reporting...http://service.sap.com/crm

The difference between SFG and WIP is that ,
1 ) Valuation Class For SFG starts 7***   but WIP material stock starts with 3***
2 ) Stock / inventory of SFG can be seen at point of time but WIP is an Order item
3 ) We can find the stock of SFG at any point of time say it is having specific storage location But WIP is calculated from
    Order for which items are drawn .
4 ) Example You have to manufacture Product AAA which contains SFG1 , 2 , 3 which is made up of some component items
    once SFG 's made the inventory is updated during GR but the components lying in the shop floor required to complete the order
   so we want to know at any point of time how many these materials are lying and the same was issued against Order
   reservation to finish the balance Order Quantity is called WIP. You have confirmed only say 80 Pcs of FERT out of 100 Pcs
   remaining 20 Pcs needs to be confirmed and is being manufactured in the shop floor and the same is lying as WIP .
Material Consumption to Production Order:
In FI:
ROH consumption Account       Dr (PROFIT & LOSS ACCOUNT)
To ROH Inventory Account       Cr (BALANCE SHEET)
Same in the case with HALB
In CO: Cost of Material is
In CO: Cost of Material is debited to Production Order

Master Data synchronisation between BW and SEM BCS

Hi,
Can any one guide me how to synchronize data between BW and SEM BCS.
Master data like Cost centre, Segment, Profit centers and all other sub assignments are created in BW from source ystem i.e SAP.
Now when I upload data into BCS, i am facing errors l;ike master data doex not exists.
Currently I am Flexible upload for updating into BCS.
So pls suggest me hoe to proceed this approach in Production? IS there any synchronisation program which does this automatically from BW to BCS?

The issue is, here we have created Sub Assignments, where the master data for these sub assignments will increase on daily basis.
Can say atleast 50 Sub assignmenrs are created as new master data, example: Customer is a sub assignment, but it is assigned only for few accounts, so taking sub ledgerlevel data inco is not an issue.
Now when transaction data is posted in to BCS, the sub assignments master data is created automatically.
Now the question is how to get the data in BW for the specific sub assignmnets into BCS.
Currently I planned to use the [program UCMDSYNC to do this.
Pls do suggest me if any other option available for me.

Payroll scheme - quarter and semi-annual payments

Hi.
I have the following questions concerning Payroll scheme I am working on.
How can I check the following conditions?
1. A wage type (WT) for quarter payment has not to be paid to a worker if he was hired during the last month of a quarter. For example, a worker was hired in September 01, 2011 - thus, in September a WT shouldn't be paid to him, 'cause September is the last month of a 3rd quarter.
2. Another WT for semi-annual payment has not to be payed to a worker if he has been hired during the last 2 months of a half year period. For example, the worker was hired in November 01, 2011 - thus, in November and December a WT for semi-annual payment shoudn't be paid to him.
Please, give me any tips to solve the issue, thank you.

with which function will I be able to determine the months to start from?
I want to make the following:
- for quarter payments - to determine months 3, 6, 9, 12, and if employees were hired during these months, then the WT shouldn't be paid.
- for semi-annual payments - to determine months 5,6 and 11,12, and if employees were hired during these months, then the WT shouldn't be paid.
How to do this?

Is there any integrated planning Business Content for CRM? Where do I find it?
SEM-BPS has Business Content planning scenarios for CRM. Is this BC also available in BW-BPS now? Where do I find it?
We use NW04s BI and CRM 5.0.

Hello Erik,
as of now I have not heard of such content.
Also SAP is not talking about CRM-content for BIIP yet. What we have learned is that a lot effort is put into making the system stable and going for "additional" functionalities like BC later.
What you could do is use BW-Business Content for CRM as far as possible (InfoCubes etc. ) and build the Aggregation Levels, Queries & Templates by yourself.
