Find all pages that link to x

Hello,
I'm using Dreamweaver to maintain our Intranet. There have
been
numerous times that I want to find all pages on our Intranet
that link
to a particular page. (Say I'm moving content from one folder
to
another.) Is there an easy way to accomplish this in
Dreamweaver?
Right now I do a global find for links that use the filename.
it's not
perfect, though, as some links use relative linking and some
use
site-root linking.
Any 3rd party packages that do it, if Dreamweaver won't?
Thanks,
-Ben

Me three !
Always best to keep a backup of the site - if it's the first
time you try
this method :)

  • DW5 - How to list all pages that link to a specific page?

Hi all, I'm using DW5 and need to completely remove a specific page. How can I get DW to check through the whole site and make a list of all other pages that link directly to the page I want to remove?
I'm sure it must be simple, but can't seem to get the result I need. Can someone spare a few minutes to spell it out for me please?

I would do a Find on the page name...source code...in the entire local site...and be given a list of pages that include that page name. Then you can go into the Results window, where they are listed, and by double-clicking go directly to each reference.
You may also save a copy of the report in XML... (the save icon is a small floppy disk image on the left border of the Results Panel.

  • Reader doesn't find all pages in multipage articles

    Hey folks,
just noticed that the "Reader" feature inside Safari doesn't always find all pages. Example:
    http://www.feedmag.com/templates/default.php3?a_id=1698
Article has 3 pages, reader only finds 2.
Anybody working on a fix on this?
    Cheers

    HI,
Empty the Safari cache. From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Empty Cache.
    Relaunch Safari.
If that didn't help, go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and move the "cache.db" file to the Trash.

  • How to find all photos that have NO faces, as opposed to UNNAMED faces?

I find that iPhoto often misses faces entirely, especially if the face is wearing sunglasses or a hat or both.  Sometimes it is rather inexplicable that it has missed a face, as the face seems obvious.
If you use the smart album method to find all "unnamed" faces, the photos have at least one unnamed face identified.  You can then add any missed faces to those photos.
But what about photos in which iPhoto has failed to identify the existence of even one face?  Or for that matter, if I want to see only pictures of landscapes or objects that have no people?  Does anyone have a method for finding all photos that have no faces in them at all?
For me, the idea is to find all unidentified faces and add them.  But as I pointed out above, there may be other uses for this.
    Any ideas, anyone?
    Thanks

Awesome !!! Thank you very much. I did not realize you could use JavaScript to code against iTunes ...
I don't know if you have written any of these yourself, but do you know how to maybe create a smart playlist with this information via script? If not, no big deal. At least I know have something which I can use, I will just have to run it every so often.
Thanks again for pointing me to that site!

  • How to find the page that has the downloads?

I am signed in to my valid creative cloud account. All I want to do is get to the page that lets me do the downloads of Acrobat, Photoshop, etc.  I can't for the life of me find the page!  Please help.

    Ted,
For what it's worth, I agree.
My experience is that Adobe has lots of valuable information tucked away in somewhat obscure, hard to find URLs. But it seems to be assumed that these locations are plain and clear and people know where to go.
I find myself getting lost in dark corners of the Adobe website at times. Or sometimes just stuck on what to do next. Then I read through the forums and see that apparently everyone knows but me

  • Finding all pages attached to a template without updating the pages

Is there a fast way to identify all the pages that are attached to a specific template?
I inherited an unfinished site that was done by a compulsively disorganized person, and I have to get the site functional ASAP. There is a very large number of templates and pages, and I need to identify which templates go which pages to get the site cleaned up most efficiently.  If anyone is familiar with MS Access, the equivalent of the database documenter function for Dreamweaver would be great.

Yes. Go into one page that is based on the template. Find the code up near the very top of the head section that reads:
    <!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/templateFileNameHere.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
Copy this fragment of code and do a Find in "Entire Current Local Site"; Find All.
In the Results Window will be displayed all pages based on that template.
If, instead of searching for a specific template, you searched for just the first part of that string,
    <!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/
your results will list the different pages in the left column and the citation of your search text on the right column.
You can save the results (it will be an xml file). To save as an xml file, click on the small floppy disk icon two down from the green flippy triangle on the Search Results Panel. The default file name will be ResultsReport.xml, but you will have the opportunity to give it more meaningful name before it is saved.
Such a file may be opened in Excel or as an XML file. When opening in Excel, you will be given a choice of formats to view it in.

  • How do I find all photos that can be '"reverted to original"? Help please!

Hi. I hope that someone can help me with this!
I am trying to go through my iPhoto Library of about 1000 photos and find all of the photos that have the option to be "reverted to original", ie. I have made changes to them. I realise that I could go through them one by one, but I am trying to avoid that!
I have realised recently that I should duplicate a photo before changing it, so that I leave the original untouched. However this doesn't help me with all of the old ones that I DIDN'T duplicate.
Is there an Applescript or a method of finding all of the old photos that I am looking for?
Thanks so much in advance for any help,
    Fleur

    I don't think it can be done from within iPhoto but there's a way you can do it from outside. First download and launch QPict. Then do the following;
1 - open your iPhoto Library folder and type Command-F.
2 - in the search window create these two search criteria:
    a - Kind is Folder
    b - Name contains Original
3 - In the search results window click on the size column to separate the empty folders from those with files in them.
4 - select all of the folder that are not empty and drag into the open window of QPict.
That will open the original files in QPict so you can view them there and compare to those in iPhoto. Just remember do not move any of those folders out of the iPhoto Library folder. Just move them into the open window of QPict.

  • Has anyone else noticed that iBooks search does not find all information that should be located for a specific search criteria?

I am converting a novel to ePub format.  I am currently in the process of adding "end notes" to the book.  Each will have a flag embedded at the proper spot in the various chapters that is coded as "[See End Note xx]" where xx is a one or two digit number.  Each of the flags has those words surrounded by the HTML that links the flag to the proper end note at the back of the book.
To verify that I have indeed inserted correctly each end note, I copy the book's epub file from my desktop PC to the iPad.  I then do a search in iBooks to locate each occurance of "[See End Note" or just "End Note".  I should see each of these flags listed.  Last night it would list all of them except "[See End Note 28]"!   If I did a search for "28", it would appear.
I then copied just the flag itself ("[See End Note 28]") without the associated linkage HTML to the back of the document, and placed the copy just in front of the paragraph that contains it. Neither of the two flags were found.
I then duplicated just the flags for end notes 27 and 29 which the search function had located.  I placed the copies surrounding the copied flag for 29.  The result was as follows in the text of the book:
    [See End Note 27]
    [See End Note 28]
    [See End Note 29]
Although 27 and 29 were still being shown in their normal places, none of the above three inserted (test) flags was displayed by the search!
It seemed that the iBooks search goes through part of the book, but cannot take the whole book in one piece.  It then continues, but leaves a gap that is not scanned per the search criteria.  To test that theory, I removed the entire text of several chapters that did not contain any end notes.  I then loaded this modified copy of the book into the iPad.  When I ran a search using "End Note", all of the flags (including the special test flags) were displayed.  The list included the "missing" "[See End Note 28]" that cannot be found if the all of the chapters have their text!
I shall be calling Apple in a few minutes to again attempt to get the apparent "bug" (aka design or coding flaw) removed such that it does not
impact the ability of the iPad to be a useful tool.

Not all movie studio signed up to the agreement with Apple to allow redownloading of movies, only those that did will have their movies available in the purchased section of iTunes.

  • Print all pages that have highlights

My apologies if this is apparent. I've searched and searched. Running Acrobat X Pro . Have 1150 page pdf. Want to search for and highlight several different words and phrases -- then print ONLY the pages that have a highlighted word or phrase. Tried to figure out how to use bookmarks to do this -- or something. Seems it's a common need. Is it possible -- without scripting something (which I don't have time to learn how to do for this project). Thanks.

    Sara,
Thanks very much. Worked great. A couple of comments for others interested in doing the same:
    1. The 'result' file prints with comments -- either on the same page or a separate page. I chose separate page and then 'printed' to a separate pdf only odd pages -- thereby eliminating the comment pages.
    2. I doubt many people are going to be working with a 1600 page document. I ran 3 or 4 test runs with different options so it took a while. If I need to do it in the future, I'll take a sample page set (and sample search words) and run through different iterations to determine what I want as a final product -- then run the process on the full file.
This is not something that I will need often. If I did, I would spend more time tweaking it. As Sara noted, there's a bit of variation between IX (that the referenced article is about) and X Pro which I use. All-in-all, a clever work-around.
    Thanks again!

  • How to find all tables that are associated with a given domain name.

I want to find all table, excluding the structures, of a given domain name, say, waers.
Some of the tables are directly contains the domains while others are related with a data element which is connected to that domain.
I want to find tables for all two case -either tables connected directly to the domain or connected via data element- and exclude the structures.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The following thing may help you.
in se11-> search for tables having names like 'DD*'.
From this list of tables you can find the required table to get domain, data element nad table name.
    one way of doing it:
    SELECT rollname domname
      FROM dd04l
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_tab.
    SELECT rollname tabname
      FROM dd03l
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_tab1
      FOR ALL ENTRIES IN it_tab
      WHERE rollname = it_tab-rollname.
    SORT it_tab1.
    DELETE ADJACENT DUPLICATES FROM it_tab1.
    LOOP AT it_tab1 INTO wa_tab.
      MODIFY it_tab FROM wa_tab
      TRANSPORTING tabname
      WHERE rollname = wa_tab-rollname.
    ENDLOOP.
    LOOP AT it_tab INTO wa_tab.
      WRITE:/ wa_tab-domname,
              wa_tab-tabname.
    ENDLOOP.

  • Finding all photos that include a particular person whether their face appears or not

Faces is a great way to locate all photos where someone's face appears.  But what about photos that the person is in, but their face is not (e.g., the photo was taken from behind the person)?  What's the best way to tag photos so that I'll be able to have all photos that contain Person X together, whether their face is in the photo or not?  (Note: I know I could use Faces to add a face to the back of someone's head - that would get that picture to appear in Faces for that person, but would likely mess up the face recognition for that person).
My current thought is to use keywords to tag those photos with the names of people who appear in photos without their face showing.  I could then create a Smart Album that includes all photos that contain a Face or Keyword for Person X.  Is there a better way to accomplish this?

(Note: I know I could use Faces to add a face to the back of someone's head - that would get that picture to appear in Faces for that person, but would likely mess up the face recognition for that person).
That will not mess up the face recognition. iPhoto will only use the faces that have been automatically found by iPhoto to learn the parameters for the recognition of the person. So you can include any part of the person to get the photot in the Faces stack on the cork board.

That is fine, but does not give you access by using the Faces view.

  • How to find all songs that do not have album art

I create several smart playlists for housekeeping, like songs with no year, songs with no album name, etc. I wanted to create a similar one that lists all songs that do not have any album art associated with it. I have not seen this option when creating a playlist, but I didn't know if there was a way to write a script (that could run on Windows) that could create this playlist for me. I can (and have) gone through each song individually to note which did not have album art, but I have almost 5000 songs, and this is not really feasible any more.
Has anyone else done anything similar to this? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
