Find an item in SharePoint 2013

Hi Friends,
SharePoint 2013 I have a out of the box List.If I used "Find an item" search any of the item in List I can able find the item.
But My client is created one Web part page.My client is asked me to add the same SharePoint List on web part page.
Using "Find an item" option if I search any item I am not able to find the item.But the web part page is checked out mode if I used "Find an item" I can able to search any item in SharePoint List. Why I am not able to find the item with
out checked out mode.Please can anyone is help me.It is very urgent.

I'd do it creating a custom web part that would mimic the list web part, and have logic in there that makes sure to hide the button once an entry by the current user has been made in the list. You could also create a workflow that would remove the user's
permission to add a new item on the list upon creating an item.

Dear All,
I am looking for a feature vote a for list item from multiple users and need to show consolidated results on that.
for SharePoint 2013 we have "like", "rating" by using these can we show the consolidated results.
otherwise is there any alternative for this.

I haven't seen any OOB vote feature in sharepoint list. It's better to go with "like" or "ratting" options.

How to set item level permission for list item in SharePoint 2013

Hi we had a custom List "ABC".
List had 2 columns:
Project Name: (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6)
Project Leads: (PL1, PL2, PL3, PL4, PL5, PL6).
All project Leads can have permission to edit only their Project (P1, P2, P3) like
PL1 can edit P1
PL2 Can edit P2.....
But my Question is how to restrict PL2 cannot have permission to edit P1
is it possible to set permission for this through OOTB in SharePoint 2013.
Any help will be appreciated......

SharePoint 2013 - Split comma separated Column in to different row items in SharePoint 2013 Workflow or Event Handler

I have a requirement to take a String column that allows multiple fields i.e. "101;102,103,104",
and using a SPD 2013 workflow I want to split there values and then insert each Values into different list as separate items.
Eg:
I have a LIST A with the columns CustID, CustName and LIST B with the same Column Name with the below values
LIST A:
Cust ID
CustName
101
ABC, XYZ, CTSS, WIPROS, TCSS
I want to insert the above comma separated values in the below format(different Row)
LIST B:
CustID
CustName
101
ABC
101
XYZ
101
CTSS
101
WIPROS
101
TCSS

Using InfoPath form to create a task item in SharePoint 2013

Hi,
I have a requirement where I have to use InfoPath to create a task with attachments in a SharePoint 2013 List B.
I have to query a SharePoint Document Library A to display documents on the InfoPath form.
The user should be able to select the documents using checkboxes that he wants to attach to the task created.
When he clicks on the "Create Task" button, a task is created with the attachments in a SharePoint list B.
Also, the documents that are attached are then deleted from the SharePoint Library A.
Will the above require programming and does it have to be done on the SharePoint 2013 Server?

I have already tried your solution, however in that case I get the error - "UncaughtSys.ArgumentNullException: Sys.ArgumentNullException:
Value cannot be null.Parameter name: context"...
Also, I tried removing SP.SOD.executeFunc
from my code, but no success :(

Attach multiple files to a List Item in SharePoint 2013

Hi Guys,
I have a customer that want to attach multiple files to single list item in a dialog box. like Datasheet View, if we set up a Datasheet View and click on the Attachment cell, it opens a dialog box that allow to select and attach multiple files as one operation.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
As we know, if we want to attach multiple files, it only allow me to attach one file at a time, then repeat this process for every other file.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to upload multiple files in SharePoint list.
There is no out of the box way to accomplish this with SharePoint.

How can I access user permission for specific items in Sharepoint 2013 via REST API?

I want to access user permissions for specific items like lists, documents, folders etc. via the REST API.
Currently I am hitting the following endpoint:

I cant understand why high and low are both 0? I have added the user to a specific group. Also this is the same result for each of the users. Another thing to note is that I havent added the "Guest" user in the sharepoint server. So when I hit the endpoint for the Guest user, it still shows the same response. So I know there is something I am doing wrong.I want to access permission of a user for a specific item, say a document using the REST API. Can someone tell me how? What would be the endpoint?

I can login with the these AD users and AD direct import is working just fine. We are not using UPS.
With admin user when I click on the user it shows up proper data. But when I login with the same user it does not show me userdisplay/useredit and shows blank data. Also another strange thing is when I add new item in list with these AD users created by
modified by is blank and its really strange. I checked user information list, tried to rerun user sync with direct AD import option but no success.

According to your description, my understanding is that the page is blank when the use accessed /_layouts/15/userdisp.aspx and the created by field was blank when the user created a new list item in SharePoint 2013.
I tested the same scenario per your post, however I cannot reproduce your issue.
For troubleshooting this issue, I recommend to verify the things below:
Check the permission of the user in the corresponding site collection to see if he can access /_layouts/15/userdisp.aspx.
Delete the user from AD and SharePoint, then re-add the user to AD and grant proper permission to the user in SharePoint to see if the issue still occurs.
Did this issue occur with all the users? Add a new user in AD and test the same scenario.

I need to disable "Popularity Trends" option for all items, lists and libraries in SharePoint 2013. Also i need to disable "Reindex library" options in SharePoint 2013 document library Advanced settings. If this is possible, can anyone

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to disable ‘Popularity Trends’ and ‘Reindex document library’ and ’ Reindex List’buttons for all items in SharePoint 2013.
For disabling ‘Popularity Trends’, you need to deactivate Reporting feature at site collection level as Settings->Site Settings->Site collection features under Site Collection Administration->scroll to Reporting feature, deactivate
it.
For disabling ‘Reindex document library’ and ’ Reindex List’, you can add the following code at the front of
<SharePoint:ScriptBlock runat="server"> in advsetng.aspx
file, the file path is : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS.
The code is :

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is “find an item” search box in a custom list not work in your environment.
As search box and “find an item” search box in your home page are working, so the search service application is working.
Do you have any customzation to the particular custom list ?
If No, I suggest you can full crawl the data in Central Administration ->Manage Service Application->” Search Service Application”-> Manage Content Sources” to test if it works.
Also, please check if you have set "Allow items from this list to appear in search results" in list settings->Advanced Setting to true

Find an item not returning results in SharePoint calendar list

Environment: SharePoint 2013 upgraded to SP1. We have 1000s of team sites that have been upgraded from 2010 to 2013. In the lists in these sites, quite often I encounter that
Find an item does not return results for certain fields other than the title field. For example, we have a calendar list which has a Single Line of Text field. I can not get meaningful results searching on

Thanks Ganesh. All these settings are as you recommended it to be. Nonetheless I double checked and here are the results:
Ensure in the Search Service Application that the Web Application is included in the Content Source under SharePoint Start Addresses.
Yes. Please remember we are getting search results. To be specific we are not getting Find items in the list to be returning accurate results.
Make sure that the address in Alternate access mappings default text box is same as the start crawl address in the search service application.

List Setting - Allow items from this list to appear in search results? yes
Ensured
set “Require content approval for submitted item?” to “No”.
It is set to "No". However, will it not work for approved contents also?

SharePoint 2013 Search - Zip - Parser server ran out of memory - Processing this item failed because of a IFilter parser error

Moving content databases from 2010 to 2013 August CU. Have 7 databases attached and ready to go, all the content is crawled successfully except zip files. Getting errors such as
Processing this item failed because of a IFilter parser error. ( Error parsing document 'http://sharepoint/file1.zip'. Error loading IFilter for extension '.zip' (Error code is 0x80CB4204). The function encountered an unknown error.; ; SearchID = 7A541F21-1CD3-4300-A95C-7E2A67B2563C
Processing this item failed because the parser server ran out of memory. ( Error parsing document 'http://sharepoint/file2.zip'. Document failed to be processed. It probably crashed the server.; ; SearchID = 91B5D685-1C1A-4C43-9505-DA5414E40169 )
SharePoint 2013 in a single instance out-of-the-box. Didn't install custom iFilters as 2013 supports zip. No other extensions have this issue. Range in file size from 60-90MB per zip. They contain mp3 files. I can download and unzip the file as needed.
Should I care that the index isn't being populated with these items since they contain no metadata? I am thinking I should just omit these from the crawl.

This issue came back up for me as my results aren't displaying since this data is not part of the search index.
Curious if anyone knows of a way to increase the parser server memory in SharePoint 2013 search?
