'Find an Item' search on list with more items than view limit

Hello all
The 'Find and Item' search on a list with more items than the view limit appears to filter results according to where you are in that list. So if I search on the allitems page displaying items 1-100 I get hits from the entire list. But if I arrow
through to view items 201-300 and repeat the same search only items from 201 to the end of the list are returned
I'm assuming this is not how it should work i.e. it should always return results from the whole list. Is there a way to make that so (other than increasing the view limit to something huge so that all items are always displayed)

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that Find an item Search box in List didn't returned any results.
The problem is due to a difference between the Content Source defined for the crawl and the default zone defined in the Alternate Access mapping.
You need to change the Alternate Access Mapping configuration.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to get a specific list item form a list which with more than 100000 items using C#.
I suggest you can use CAML Query with some condition and set Row Limit to specify the number of items to return.

I am not clear on what you are wanting DW to do for you? Is it that you want it to insert a three item unordered list? No - there's no such function. You would need to click in Design view where you want the list to go, click on the bulleted list icon on the Property inspector, and then enter the three items separated by carriage returns. Then you'd have to link each item specifically.
To enter the named anchors to element ID values, CS5 has no way to do this. You'd have to enter those links manually.

Furthermore if the list item have large no of value and a scroll bar along with it then the list scroll to last item when user click it with mouse. I want that when user click the list item with mouse list should show the first item as highlighted.

I'd really like to print the report across two pages, like Excel does with its "Fit to 2 pages wide" option.</p><p>Is this possible in Crytal? What do folks do when their report is "wider" than the width of the page? </p><p> </p>

This is a relatively easy fix.Â Basically you need to make a huge default page for your printer, and use that layout when printing.
1. On Windows, go to Start -> Printers & Faxes
2. Click on File -> Server Properties
3.Â Check 'Create a new form'
4.Â Change the form name field to something you can remember... I called mine GIGANTIC CRYSTAL LAYOUT
5.Â At the bottom change the units to the size you would like.Â I use 100" wide x 14" tall.Â
6.Â Click Save Form when you are done.
7.Â Then click 'Close'
In crystal start your report (or create a new one) and change your printer settings to use this new form.Â If it doesn't show up under your default printer, try changing the printer crystal is looking at, and selecting your new form.

we are in need to find materials in scheduling agreement with more than 150 lines. In standard SAP, materials can be searched only based on item Nos. is there a way we can search by material in ME38. also we noticed that find icon is greyed out in ME38.

I am also curious if anyone has found a solution to this problem.
We routinely have scheduling agreements that are hundreds of line items. Users find it difficult to find the line item they wish to work with. It would be helpful if we could search by material number or sort the line items by material.
As Raghavendra mentioned (ctrl+F) functionality is not available in ME33L or ME38.

Use the Find command (menu Edit) and in criteria at the right side is a plus sign to add another criteria and set it to your custom wishes.

I am using Select List with Submit and when I do this and redirect to same page, cursor focus goes to first item in region or page.
How to keep the cursor in same item?

Suppose ur select list with submit is "P1_SELECT" and the item to set focus on is "P1_MAIN".
In ur page HTML Footer, use something like:

Is there a way to add a subtype instance to a List with a bounded wildcard? For example, say I have an
abstract class called Car. Then I have 2 concrete subclasses--Ford and Toyota. Now say I have another
class that contains a prepopulated list and is wildcard bounded like this: List<? extends Car> carList. I
want to add a method where I pass in a Car subtype as a parameter and then add it into this list, e.g:

carList.add(car);
Trying this, I keep getting "cannot find symbol" compilation errors. When I went back to read the Generics
tutorial by Bracha, he mentions that explicitly adding a subtype, e.g. carList.add(new Ford()), can not be
done. But here I'm adding the "upper bound" of the wildcard, i.e. the Car type. Therefore there should be no
discrepancy between supertype and subtype an thus the carList.add(car) should be ok, IMO.
Am I misunderstanding something with this logic? Also, if carList.add(car) can not be done, then how can
I go about doing something similar which will allow me to add subtypes to a "generic" list?

I get a compilation error expecting an Object instead of a Car. Of course you did. List<? super Car> is a list into which you can put cars -- and possibly other stuff. List<? extends Car> is a list out of which you can get cars (possibly of different makes).
Do you need a list that you can put cars in and get cars out? That's List<Car>
This isn't a linguistic problem you are having; this is a design problem. If you have a function that takes an argument which is a list that you can put any kind of car into and be sure of getting a car out of, it isn't reasonable to pass in a List<Ford> (because the function might put in a Chevy) or a List<Object> (but there might be motorcycles already in there). By the requirements you have, you need a List<Car> and nothing else.
Yes, you could use a cast, but all you are doing is circumventing the type system by saying "I know this List<Object> only has Cars in it."

In my project I want one query form for specifying criteria for more than one datasource. When I send the query form, I want the right view criteria will be coupled with the right datasource.

I think I got the same problem! I tried to combine all the tables in a new view and create a query on this view.
But when I search and my result has to be one record from the main table, I get this record more than once.
I tried to use distinct but that does not work because each column has a different value, so the record is never the same.
I hope someone can help us!

I have requirement for our project where in the input form is having around 320 columns in it.below are the columns and data types.

Yes or No Radio button -95
Date time control-35
Checkbox-10
I have checked the sharepoint boundry and limits for columns and data types.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know if it has some performance issue and limitation when create large number column in a list.
When creating columns in the list , you can still create all 320 columns in the list. But when retrieve the items in a view, then there is a list view threshold limit which causes the performance issue, see the link below:

To handling the large number columns, I suggest you can distinguish the column with business logic to create in different list, it will be clear to display the logic relationship.

BOM where-used list with Phantom item ( Special procurement ) - ALV grid

Hi Gurus,
I have a request with tcode CS15 when we use alv-grid.
We have a component with phantom item indicator because we use the special procurement type 50.
When we run the transaction we don't use the variable list but we use the alv-grid.
I change the layout but we haven't the field "Special procurement" or "Phantom item" in the column set

before run SQ02 and create an info-set based on a standard logical databse CMC.
you even do not need an abaper. just try yourself. play in DEV system

Use ME2N trxn and choose ALV layout .
then extract in to Excel sheet and filter it according to your requirement.
