Find bar merges to add-on bar

When using Find in Firefox 4.0, I have encountered an issue that when the add-on bar is not shown and the Find bar is closed, it merges to the now-hidden add-on bar. Find cannot be brought back with Ctrl-F or via the Firefox button>Find.
Upon showing the add-on bar, the find bar is in it's place, half obscured by the bottom of the screen. If closed again, the add-on bar is still ticked in the toolbar options, but it is hidden. It must then be unticked and ticked again. The find bar is still in it's place.

Did you install that add-on I suggested?
If you did, then see screenshot on how to add google.

  • How can I permanently prevent the Reminder Fox icon (in the Add-on Bar) and the Add-on Bar from showing?

    Installed: Firefox 27. ReminderFox 2.1.4. Windows XP Professional
    Since ReminderFox 2.1.4 was installed, I have deselected the 'Status/Add-on Bar Display 'Bow' and text on status bar' numerous times, but the setting never takes effect even after pressing the Apply and OK buttons.
    The Add-on Bar, which has always been deselected from the View > Toolbars menu, shows as selected in the menu, and even though I deselect it manually, when I close Firefox and then reopen it, it shows again as selected in the menu.

  • Put Find Box into Add-on Bar

    Is there a way to put the find box into the Add-on bar? It is pretty ridiculous that the Find Bar takes up so much valuable space. Why not use up some un used space on the Add-on Bar?

    I think you are missing the point entirely, or maybe I am not explaining it right. My find bar is in view 24/7. I like in view as I use it all the time. But it it ridiculous to have it take up a whole row. It doesn't make sense that you can't drag it to the Add-on bar. Look at images below.

  • Extensions no longer showing up on Add-on Bar. Can't find them!

    Since upgrading to 7.0.1, my Extensions are not showing up in the bottom Add-on Bar so I can't toggle them on and off. I can't find where they are at all and yet they are all enabled! Someone please help!

    I updated firefox go to help - about firefox and it should update it for you. it seems to help as now my add on bar is showing up. it still isn't operating like it used to but it is at least showing up.

  • How do i hide/remove the text above the add-on bar (I guess its the information when you surf) I find it annoying or can I add/move TO the add-on bar so its not so annoying/intrusive?

    When you move from site to site, or page to page you get information on the bottom of the browser above the addon bar (if the addon bar is visible) - Id like to remove or hide or move it TO the addon bar instead of being in the main browser window. CAN i do that, and if so - how? I find this text annoying esp since it has a light background and the page you are on has a dark page so its very noticeable/distracting.

    You can use the Status-4-Evar extension to replace some functionality that was lost withthe removal of the Status bar in Firefox 4.
    Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" after you have installed the Status-4-Evar extension and drag the items (Status Text, Progress Meter, Download Status) upon the Add-ons Bar (View > Toolbars > [X] Add-on Bar)

  • I am trying to get rid of DigiSave ads, cannot find the add-on bar to remove.

    DigiSaver is popping up all over the place, and I need it removed. How do I do this? There is no Add On bar on my Firefox page and this all started after the last Firefox update. I want it gone, it is intrusive and I never requested it.

    You can disable Digisave by going:
    *Click the orange Firefox button > Add-ons > Extensions
    *Find ''DiguiSavEr'' and Remove it.

    The userChrome.css file is not related to the Google Chrome browser.
    Here is a description of the userChrome.css file: http://www.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html
    On Windows you can find it in %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\YOURPROFILE\userChrome.css
    If you parse the code from avatarx into the file your add-on bar shows up in fullscreen mode.
    Thanks to avatarx for the code since i had the same problem.

    Even under Lion the "authorize" menu entry does appear in exactly the same place as before - at least on my MacBook Pro -that's one of the few things that is still working
    Perhaps you could just select the "Help" menu and enter "authorize" in the search field. It should you take to the "authorize"-menu if it is till available.

  • Every time I hide the add-ons bar, it re-appears on startup. How do I make it stop?

    Well, It's just like it says in the question title. I don't want to see the add-on bar at the bottom (or at all, for that matter), but I want to keep my add-ons. Every time I open Firefox, there it is, and I right click and uncheck the "add-on bar" option. But it keeps showing up every time I restart Firefox. How can I make it stop reappearing?

    In order to switch to another persona that you had previously installed, do the following:
    #Go to ''Tools'' and click ''Add-ons'' (or click the Firefox button at the top left and click ''Add-ons'').
    #Switch to the ''Appearance'' tab. You should find your previously used personas in the list.
    #Find the one you want to use and click the ''Enable'' button.
    To uninstall the other ones you can click the ''Remove'' button on them and they'll be uninstalled instantly.

  • Using the instructions posted, I am not able to customize the add-on bar. I cannot move or remove the elements there.

    I went to the instructions about how to customize the add-on bar. These were basically the same as for the other bars which appear on the top of the browser which I've done many times before. I wanted to move some items to the left of the bar and I wanted to remove some items. I was not able to do either of these things. The icon which is the moveable hand would not appear when mousing over the elements on the bar. I was able to add and remove a separator element but it would place only to the left of all the elements. I was not able to place it in any other spot.

    Some (possible) bug reports have been filed on the inability to rearrange all of the icons on the Add-on Bar. There may be some involvement of other add-ons causing that problem, but that is yet to be determined.
    I have not tried the latest version or Organize Status Bar (OSB) that '''silkphoenix''' pointed to in the post above. The note on that page indicates that the only update was changing the <max-version> to 4.0. I had already done that in the previous version of OSB that I have installed and doing just that did not solve the problem. In my case, some of the add-on icons are grouped together with a gray background in Customize mode and those seem unmovable.
    To move items to the left, you can try inserting Flexible spaces (or spaces) from the Customize palette.

  • FF 29 - How to merge tabs alongside URL bar

    Hi,
    First, thanks for the nice update. FF 29 feels smoother to me, and faster. However, I miss the extra browsing space I had in FF 28 by merging the tabs to the right of the URL bar. Having such a huge URL bar is a waste of space.
    Also, is there any way to get tabs that don't match the color of their respective bar? (blue tabs, blue bar, grey tabs, gray bar after clicking "title" in customize).
    Thanks for any help.

    Hello,
    # [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ Install Classic Theme Restorer] and restart Firefox when prompted.
    # Open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A; Mac: Command+Shift+A), then the Extensions category.
    # Next to Classic Theme Restorer, click the Options button.
    # On the Main tab, set the following, then close the options window when done.
    #* Tabs: Curved tabs (alternative)
    #* Application button: Button disabled
    #* General UI: Movable Back/Forward button
    # Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
    # Drag the Back/Forward button, the address bar, the ≡ Menu Button and whatever other items you're interested in onto the tab bar.

  • My McAfee SiteAdvisor add-on is activated in the Tool-Add-on menu but doesn't appear in the Add-on Bar.

    My McAfee SiteAdvisors is activated but doesnt show in the add-on bar. I double checked the situation under « Tool, Add-on, Extensions » and the add-on is enable. Also the « Add-on bar » is activated.The green McAfee SiteAdvisor button dissapeared after firefox update 16.02. I updated to 17 in case it would resolve the problem with no success. McAfee is still working by giving a warning page if I try to go on a suspiscious site.
    Also in google search result I no longer get the little McAfee evaluation icones.

    suggest you to re-install siteadvisor pluggin or u can find it under customize toolbar options...

  • The add-on bar keeps reappearing whenever I restart Firefox

    Hi,
    I'm having trouble with the add-on bar. After using Chrome for so long, having something on the bottom of the screen taking up space is unsettling for me. I always turn off the add-on bar because I put all my add-on icons next to the location bar like in Chrome, but whenever I close and restart Firefox the add-on bar will always reappear. Is there any way I can keep it from reappearing? I'm using Firefox 5. It's a minor annoyance because 2 clicks will get rid of it, but I'd rather not have to do that anyway.
    Thanks.

    Thanks I was able to find the culprit.

  • Any Possible to add Scroll Bars to SysLink Control in MFC

    If there is any chance to add Scroll Bars to SysLink Control in VC++ MFC Application?

    Hi J Sathish Kumar,
    CLinkCtrl class derive form CWnd class, so it can create with the common windows style WS_VSCROLL. So we could create a syslink control with this style.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/xw25kwch.aspx
    PTCHAR url =
    _T("Link 2) ")
    _T("<A HREF=\"http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/visualc/default.aspx\">")
    _T("Microsoft VC++ Home")
    _T("</A>");
    //m_mylink is a object of a class derive from CLinkCtrl class.
    m_mylink.Create(url,
    (WS_VISIBLE | WS_TABSTOP | WS_CHILD | WS_BORDER|WS_VSCROLL),
    CRect(
    100, 100,
    400, 240),
    this,
    IDC_SYSLINK2);
    You need to create a class derive form CLinkCtrl class. And you will find the scrollbar cannnot scroll. Here is a workaround:
    LRESULT CMyLinkCtrl::WindowProc(UINT message, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam)
    // TODO: Add your specialized code here and/or call the base class
    if (message == WM_NCHITTEST || message == WM_NCLBUTTONDOWN || message == WM_NCLBUTTONDBLCLK)
    return ::DefWindowProc(m_hWnd, message, wParam, lParam);
    return CLinkCtrl::WindowProc(message, wParam, lParam);
    Set the scrollbar information.
    int CMyLinkCtrl::OnCreate(LPCREATESTRUCT lpCreateStruct)
    if (CLinkCtrl::OnCreate(lpCreateStruct) == -1)
    return -1;
    // TODO: Add your specialized creation code here
    SCROLLINFO vinfo;
    vinfo.cbSize = sizeof(vinfo);
    vinfo.fMask = SIF_ALL;
    vinfo.nPage = 30
    vinfo.nMax = 140
    vinfo.nMin=0;
    vinfo.nTrackPos = 0;
    SetScrollInfo(SB_VERT, &vinfo);//
    return 0;
    Handle the WM_VSCROLL message event in your new class CMyLinkCtrl.
    void CMyLinkCtrl::OnVScroll(UINT nSBCode, UINT nPos, CScrollBar* pScrollBar)
    // TODO: Add your message handler code here and/or call default
    SCROLLINFO scrollinfo;
    GetScrollInfo(SB_VERT, &scrollinfo, SIF_ALL);
    switch (nSBCode) {
    case SB_BOTTOM:
    ScrollWindow(0, (scrollinfo.nPos - scrollinfo.nMax) * 10); scrollinfo.nPos = scrollinfo.nMax;
    SetScrollInfo(SB_VERT, &scrollinfo, SIF_ALL); break;
    case SB_TOP: ScrollWindow(0, (scrollinfo.nPos - scrollinfo.nMin) * 10); scrollinfo.nPos = scrollinfo.nMin;
    SetScrollInfo(SB_VERT, &scrollinfo, SIF_ALL);
    break;
    case SB_LINEUP:
    scrollinfo.nPos -= 1;
    if (scrollinfo.nPos<scrollinfo.nMin) {
    scrollinfo.nPos = scrollinfo.nMin;
    break;
    SetScrollInfo(SB_VERT, &scrollinfo, SIF_ALL);
    ScrollWindow(0, 10);
    break;
    case SB_LINEDOWN:
    scrollinfo.nPos += 1;
    if (scrollinfo.nPos>scrollinfo.nMax) {
    scrollinfo.nPos = scrollinfo.nMax; break;
    SetScrollInfo(SB_VERT, &scrollinfo, SIF_ALL); ScrollWindow(0, -10);
    break;
    case SB_PAGEUP:
    scrollinfo.nPos -= 5;
    if (scrollinfo.nPos<scrollinfo.nMin) {
    scrollinfo.nPos = scrollinfo.nMin;
    break;
    SetScrollInfo(SB_VERT, &scrollinfo, SIF_ALL); ScrollWindow(0, 10 * 5);
    break;
    case SB_PAGEDOWN:
    scrollinfo.nPos += 5;
    if (scrollinfo.nPos>scrollinfo.nMax) {
    scrollinfo.nPos = scrollinfo.nMax;
    break;
    SetScrollInfo(SB_VERT, &scrollinfo, SIF_ALL); ScrollWindow(0, -10 * 5);
    break;
    case SB_ENDSCROLL:
    break;
    case SB_THUMBPOSITION:
    // ScrollWindow(0,(scrollinfo.nPos-nPos)*10); // scrollinfo.nPos = nPos;
    // SetScrollInfo(SB_VERT,&scrollinfo,SIF_ALL);
    break;
    case SB_THUMBTRACK:
    ScrollWindow(0, (scrollinfo.nPos - nPos) * 10);
    scrollinfo.nPos = nPos;
    SetScrollInfo(SB_VERT, &scrollinfo, SIF_ALL);
    break;
    CLinkCtrl::OnVScroll(nSBCode, nPos, pScrollBar);
    Above code is just for test and help you understand how to add the scrollbar, you could make it more suitable for your situation. Hope this helps some. Example Screenshot:

  • Add 2 bars to beginning of song

    Hi all - new to Macs & GB. Have searched but can't find anything relevant.
    Need to add 2 bars to song for a sensible count-in.
    Cheers.

    Simply select all regions in all Tracks (Cmd+A) and drag them over two measures. Make sure Snap to Grid is selected in the Control menu first.
    Or if you just need a count-in for recording purposes choose Count In from the Control menu.
