Find/Change not locating glyphs in other language

I'm working on final corrections on a file with both Arabic and English type. (The Arabic was supplied by an outside typesetter using Middle Eastern InD.) I'm trying to search for instances of a particular Arabic character so it can be replaced with a different form, and even though I can locate the character in the Glyph panel (and replace it manually by double clicking), I need to see if the character shows up elsewhere in the document. But no matter what I've tried I can't get Find/Replace to find it, even when I use "load glyph into find" or enter the unicode or GID number. This happens even if the letter I'm looking for is right there in front of me. Any suggestions? Thank you. I'm using 7.0/CS5 on a Mac with 10.5.8.

Unless I am mistaken, iTunes Switzerland is far from Swiss and does not encourage its people to watch films in the local languages of its country (at least French and Italian would be good too...). Can anyone help ? Do I have to move to Geneva to watch a non French film in French or Lugano to watch a non Italian film in Italian or simply buy a DVD to get round it?

I have the same problem. I want to watch any movies in French (in the original, or subtitled and/or dubbed). But I cannot seem to find any on iTunes. Does iTunes offer any content in other countries (I live overseas) in the languages of those countries?

Edit find/change (not finding all instances)

I am using Edit>Find/Change to change a brand name in a document — however, this feature is not finding ALL instances of the brand name. I am having to manually/visually edit through the entire doc. Suggestions?

You could check whether "Case sensitive" is switched on in your find/change dialog. Also check that your find format options are cleared. Click the "More Options" button if the find format options are not showing in the dialog.

Workflow does not complete task in other languages

Hi,
I created an approval workflow on Sharepoint Designer 2013 set as Sharepoint Workflow 2013.
It worked fine untill some of our approvers came to find out that using other languanges as primary option on Internet Explorer the workflow stops. It does not cancel it, but does not mark the task as completed automatically as it does for the computers set
as English as primary language, therefore, the workflow stops until a manual completion of the task.
On the microsoft site I checked that Workflow Manager has the same files in any language.
I even found a Cumulative Update for Workflow Manager and it cames with a fix on languages. Question is: why there are no languages on the first installation?

I have figured out what's the cause of the problem.
There has been no changes in the agent assignment, so, SWU_OBUF is not needed.
The workflow hangs and states that there is no agent for the step in Ready status because the workflow was deactivated after the Release step. I think this has been deactivated by the system because there were errors that occured (perhaps in the container bindings).
The workflow template I used, together with the tasks, were copied from the standard template WS20000075.
Are there any procedure to just easily check the bindings?

CVP Language change (English and option for other Language)

Hi,
Currently in our IP IVR we give our callers the option to switch to spanish. I want to do the same in CVP but I'm not sure how.
I guess I could create an English page and a Spanish page so that if the callers enter the option for Spanish it would "move" the call to the Spanish page in which all prompts are Spanish.
Currently, using IP IVR, our English and Spanish prompts are name the same so we can just send the call back to the beginning and change the Language.
Any ideas are appreciated.

I see three methods:
1. Set the default audio path to something like: http:// address>/
Create a session variable say Lang - Intial value "en-us"
Prompt for Spanish. If they want that, reset Lang="es-es"
All prompts in the application would be set as {Session.data.Lang}/app/my_application/foobar.wav
2. In CVP7 you can start off with Default Audio Path = http:// address>/en-us/my_application/ and use the Application Modifier node to reset the default audio path for Spanish. All prompts would be a WAV file name like foobar.wav
3. make the language selection a microapp - I always use microapps for such simple things - and pass the language in as a session variable which then flows through to the VXML application.
I think what is holding you back is that you did not realize that what goes into an audio element as the WAV file can be a complete URL, or part of a URL that is appended to the Default Audio Path, and you can include Session Variables in this. There is a lot of flexibility here.

How to create the request for change of selection text into other language.

In my object requirement is that when login through Japanese language, then on selection screen selection text should appear in Japanese language. For that I have maintained the text in Japanese language the program where we define the selection text there from translation I have maintained the text in Japanese but while maintain the text it didn't ask me for REQUEST, because of that I am not able to transport the changes to next system, so I want know how to create the request for this case.

You could goto the selection screen texts by goto-> selection texts,
Then you could again goto -> Translation
or
Other-> Translation(Not sure )
Then double click on the Program you should be able to see the Texts that need translation, now change something save and come back and try to activate, now it should propose for a new Transport Request.
Either create a new transaport request or give one that you have given for the program.
Hope the issue is resolved.

Find iPad not locating

My iPad was lost last week so I put it into lost mode and put a message with my mobile number. I keep on checking on my iPhone to see if it is showing as online, but so far nothing. Today I received a call from the Police to say they had my iPad and had found my number from the message. I assume to get this message the iPad has gone online, if so why isn't find my iPhone app showing where it is and why haven't I received an email showing it has gone online?

It explains that if the device is not online, those notifications (in your direction), do not occur until the device comes online again:
If it’s offline, the lock and tracking (if applicable) take effect the next time it’s online.
The message you input with your number or whatever message you requested appear on the device is displayed regardless of being online or offline..

Find does not locate files in system...?

I often use find to try and locate a file that I need. For example a Cubase components folder so that I can update an ASIO file for my recording software... or similar.
On many occassions Find and Spotlight ends up blank and shows nothing when using part or the exact name of what I am searching for?
Do I need to adjust settings for it to locate any file?

Can it be set as a default for the search?
Annoyingly, no. All you can do is check the box next to "System Files" in the popup list so that it will appear on the list when you click on the default "Kind" popup, which saves you having to search through the "Other" list to select it.
But you can't even set its default option to "are included" so it will always take several clicks to get Finder searches to include system files.
One thing you can do for searches that you regularly use is to save them, using the "Save" button on the right. They can be saved to the default location ~/Library/Saved Searches or anywhere else that is convenient, & optionally added to the Finder sidebar. But they are mostly just useful for searches with several different criteria (added with the + button to the right of the Kind line) because otherwise they don't save many clicks.
Experiment with this & I think you will see what I mean.

Why does finder path not locate my file?

I have a jpeg on my desktop named keats,
keats.jpg however the file extension is hidden.
I`m trying to learn to search path urls in mac & finder.
I typed this but it says "folder can`t be found."

I also tried it with just keats at the end (no .jpg)

Find/Change not working, at all.

Hello everyone.
I am using InDesign CS5.5 on a Mac running OS 10.7.5. I wanted to find and replace ^p^p with ^p and it didn't work. So then I tied to find the word "the" in my document (there are many) and none were found. The Find Format is not selected, case sensitive is also off. All the settings are set to not. I am able to do this at home all the time, but in my new job nothing doing. I am completely cluless to what is going on. I searched the forum, but wasn't able to find a solution to this error.
Any ideas will be very much appreciated.

When 6this sort of thing happens to me it usually is becasue I 'm using the wrong tab or I've set the scope to selection.

Change default coding (Unicode) to other languages (T. Chinese-Big5)

Is there any way to change the default coding in Mac? I have difficulty to open the MS Word doc. which is coded by Big5 instead of Unicode.

You can't change the encoding of the OS, but various apps let you decide what encoding to open a document, like TextEdit. For Chinese Windows to Mac issues, see this page and try the Chinese-mac mailing list as well:

My "New tab" button is missing, it is not located among the others in the "customize" menu. Is it possible to bring it back next to the page arrows?

I mean, I use the same version of Firefox on a similar cpmputer at work, and I do have the "Open new tab" aviable.
I know there are other ways to open a new tab, but I really preffer this one.
I tried everything, but I'm stuck. Help appreciated.

You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.<br />
You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar button like the New Tab button that you have in Firefox 3 versions.<br />
If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible to the left of it.<br />

I tried by seprately loging in in with different Language.
But the descreption changes done in one language overrides the other language.
For ex: Plant Descreption maintained in both EN and FR. When I enter description in FR, even the english descreption changes to FR
Any alternate solutions?
