Find date columns outside the range

I have a start and end dates and I have to check mark the record if the ship date is outside my start and end date range. To find out whether my ship date is within the range I can use between but to check to see the outside of the range I am having trouble.
Any one have any idea.

What's the opposite of BETWEEN? Not between.
not between :start_date and :end_date

I am trying to run a BW query. When I click on the calnedar icon field. It gives this error.
Error: Date is outside the factory calendar range
Msg No. FK884
What could be the problem in the query? Has anybody had the similar problem before? I tried to search in SAP notes and could not find anything close to this.

Hi Abhijit,
We got the same error message in 2010.
1) Check in transaction SCAL that the Factory Calendar ID 01 (i.e. German) is valid to 2009. This explains the error message.
2) Found SAP Note 1136142 about the configuration of default factory calendar ID of F4 Help and hierarchy for Time-characteristics in BI 7.0.
SAP Note Solution:
The key figure attribute obtains its value from the default work calendar as it is maintained in transaction RSRHIERARCHYVIRT (General Settings -> Default Factory Cal. ID).
This setting is valid across the entire system and does not permit any variable selection of the factory calendar for each query.
Furthermore, a value for 0NUMWDAY is calculated only for the period in which the default factory calendar is valid.
3) Check in transaction SCAL that the Factory Calendar ID of our location is valid to 2050.
The problem is solved after changed the Default Factory Cal. ID from 01 to the ID of our location in transaction RSRHIERARCHYVIRT.

Warning of " Date of outside the factory calendar Range"

Hi Experts,
I have created a variable of ocalday,It is taking # values and it showing warning " Date of outside the factory calendar Range".How avoid this warning.Actually intially in the one of infocubes carries the # value for 0calday, now we have deleted it, even then it taking # values and showing same warning.I have check at variable it doesnt carring any default value.Now to delete the # values from variable so that it should not show any warnings.
Can any body suggest me any thing.

Fiscal year in the columns outside the key figure structure

Dear Experts
I have a report requirement to show the keyfigures in the columns from year 1 to year 10 and in each year there are 4 keyfigures each restricted to 1 quarter for 4 quarters.
So, there are too many keyfigures to create.
I am using fiscal year in the columns outside the Key figure structure containing the keyfigures restricted at each of 4 quarters.
So, when the report displays, all the 10 years will automatically be displayed.
The problem is one of the 4 quarter level keyfigures needs to be restricted by calendar year.
How can I read what is the fiscal year for each column at runtime so that I can reference this value to determine the calendar year ?
As you know, each FY spans 2 Calendar Years. So, i need to restrict this on the 4th keyfigure by calendar year but while having the FY outside the keyfigure structure i can get all the FY, I am not sure how to access this value at runtime so that eg.
if FY for column 1 is 2010, i can set calendar year to be 2010 to 2011.
Hope you can give me some clues.

Allow me to clarify my statement, which you are right, is unclear.
By :
"if the current QuarterFY is less than the current QuarterFY"
I mean :
eg. user enters FY range : 2009 to 20NN (eg. 2017)

For each column, where the FY can be any year range entered by user,
the Text Description of the Column should show either 'Actual' or 'Plan' based on what is the current FY Quarter at runtime.
If the FY Quarter (eg. 1st column is 200101) is before current FY Quarter (i.e 201103), then the Description of this column should be "Actual" , else "Plan".
In my current design, I am unable to use customer exit text variable to meet this requirement.
So, I like to check with you for fresher ideas.
If not , I would use a workbook, which I am avoiding as the user needs to drilldown and I believe drilldown is not possible in workbooks where report layout needs to be rigid or cell positions fixed. Of course, unless there is a way out of this which I do not know.

Error giving a default value to a date column in the attribute settings.

When im giving a default value to a date column in the attribute settings i get this error when im running my jsp page (bc4j web application):
Error Message: JBO-25009: Cannot create an object of type:oracle.jbo.domain.Date with value: 31-dic-2099

Function Module to find date by passign the Planning Calendar

Hi All,
Can you tell me is there any function Module to find date by passign the Planning Calendar?
The requirement is i have a planning calender assigned to the Material in the MRP2 view.
Example: Material XXXXXX is assigned a Planning Calendar Z01.
Z01 is defined such that Delivery is on Monday only. This calendar says that the material is received from the Vendor only on Mondays.
So whenever i punch a Sales Order for Material XXXXXX, a PR is automatically geenrated when saving the sales order and the calculation of Delivery dates is also happening at this level.
Basing on this PR a PO is raised to a Vendor for procuring the Material XXXXXX, now my problem is for example the PO is raised today (30.04.2008), but the Materail XXXXXX is available only on next monday in my plant (05.05.2008) basing on my Planning Calendar assigned in the Materail Master, so i have to inform this dealy to my customer at the time of punching the sales order.
So is there any function Module to find date by passign the Planning Calendar?

Windows Desktop Search 4.0 How do I Format the Date Column in the Results?

Is there a way to modify the date column in the Results pane of Windows Desktop Search 4.0?
It's running on a Windows 2003 Enterprise server.
I have users that need to modify files that arrived today and yesterday after 5:00 PM. The date column only displays the time on files with today's date. Is there some registry setting I can tweak to get this column to always show Date and Time?

Finder icon is outside the dock

I don't know what I did, but my finder icon is outside the dock. It's just sitting by the dashboard but outside the dock shaded area.
The thing is, I can't click on, move or do anything with the finder icon. It's just sitting there. What can I do? How do I move the icon back to the dock so I can use Finder again?

Restarts apparently will come into vogue on Mac too more and more.
I lost my Network-Connection yesterday. "network cable has been removed" was the message.
A restart solved it.
Furthermore some drivers need a restart by installation.
It's like new Adobe Trial-Software needs to be uninstalled by uninstallers, if you want to reinstall the licensed version.
Otherwise it gives you loads of trouble.

Get the month from a date column with the calculated column

I am trying to get the month from a date field with the help of calculated column. However I get this syntax error whenever I want to submit the formula:

The formula contains a syntax error or is not supported.
the default language of our site is German and [datum, von] is a date field.

I have created two columns
Current MM-YY
Calculated (calculation based on other columns)
Today
Date and Time
Current MM-YY is calculated value with formula as
=TEXT(Today,"mmmm")
But the output shows as December instead of May.
I have tried =TEXT([Datum, von];"mmmm") but no help.
I am trying to populated the column automatically with current month..ex: if its May the field should show May, next month it should show June an so on.
Any kind help is grateful.

Finding a column in the database tables

Hi,
I am new in databases and I just started on a project which was already half done.
Sometimes I find it difficult to find out where a column is, i.e. in which table is?
Is there a query to find it out?
For e.g, there are 100 tables. I want to find a column "Description". I want to know in which table the column "Description" is.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you are connect to the schema where you want to search use, user_tab_columns with the following query:
SELECT table_name,column_name FROM user_tab_columns
WHERE column_name like '%STRING%'
ORDER BY 1;
If you want to find out in all the schemas (entire database), use dba_tab_columns.

Showing current Date (Date Column) in the the filter of Interactive Reports

Hi,
I created a filter for the date column in my report (table column name is Process_Date). I have created a filter in the Interactive reports which populates the data from , a particular time perieod. (From_date - To_Date). How can I change the SQL query or the Report settings, so that when the user open a report it should poulate the data for the previous_day or sysdate-1 by default.

'No authorization' error for selection values outside the authorized range

Hi All,
We are currently trying to use the authorization analysis concept for 'Cost center reporting'.
We have made 0COSTCENTER info-object as authorization relevant and have created a analysis authorization object for it through RSECADMIN and we have maintained a single value as '1875' . We have assigned this object to 1 of the test users.
So now if the user runs the report for cost center '1875' , he is able to view the data/report. Now if he enters any other cost center apart from '1875' than he gets an authorization error (Everything works as per requirement till this point).
But now if the user enters multiple cost centers like 1875, 1876, 1877 as multiple single values and runs the report, he gets an 'No authorization error'.
So all the experts, please let me know if it's possible in anyway for the user to see the result/report for the value he is authorized to (in this case - 1875) and should give an information/warning/error message saying that he is not authorized to other cost center (in this case - 1876, 1877).
Same thing is occuring if user enters a range. Suppose a user is authorized for cost center - 1875 to 1880. Now if he puts multiple single values or range in between the authorized range than he can see the result but if he enters even 1 single value outside the range he gets an error - what I mean by this is - if the user enter a range from 1875 to 1801, he does not get any data display but instead he recieves an error message saying 'No authorization' even though he is authorized for all the cost centers in that range except 1801.
I would really appreciate your help regarding this. Any comments/suggestions are very welcome.

That is the way analysis authorizations work!!
If you ask for a number of values i.e. cost centers and you don't have authorization to *all* of them you will get a system error as you say.
There is no way of partially evaluating the query as you suggest (only for the authorized values).
Try to be less restrictive when defining characteristic values in RSECADMIN.
In queries use variables with
Processing by Authorization and Input Ready.
So the system will tell the user which are the allowed values. In your example the system suggests the range 1875-1880.
