Find deleted Notes in time capsule?

I deleted the iPhone Notes which appeared in my Mail inbox.  As they contained senstive information, I then deleted them from Trash.  After syncing the iPhone I realised the consequences - no Notes anywhere.  Is there any way I can retrieve them from my time capsule?  I have searched and searched but cannot see them.  Any ideas?

Aperture and iPhoto are sharing exactly the same format for the photo library. To restore deleted photos from a Time Machine backup you will need to restore the iPhoto library or Aperture library. That is the same for both applications.

  • Recovering deleted notes using Time Capsule

How do I find a deleted note from "Notes" using Time Machine back up?

    Looks like it's this folder:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/CoreData/ExternalRecords

  • External USB-hdd not recognised by Finder if connected to Time Capsule

    Hello!
I'd like to connect a small external harddrive (40 GB) to my Time Capsule (1 TB) via USB.
I've read on http://www.apple.com/timecapsule/wireless.html the followings:
"... +And if you want to share both a printer and an additional hard drive, you can. Just connect a USB hub to Time Capsule.+ ..."
While I've connected two printers to Time Capsule - so I already use a USB hub - I've tried with the external USB-harddrive, but it wasn't recognised neither by the Finder, nor by the DiskUtility-app. The external USB-harddrive appears not even if I connect it directly to the Time Capsule!
Restarting the Time Capsule / USB-hub / external USB-harddrive / my Mac doesn't change anything
The external USB-harddrive appears only in the AirPort-utility app (5.4.2) in "manual Config" - "Devices", but even here only as a possible archiving device for the internal Time Capsule harddrive.
The USB-harddrive itself is formated as Mac OS extended (journaled) and it works like it should on my iMac (3.06 GHz, Mac OS X 10.5.7).
Do you have any idea why the external USB-harddrive doesn't appear when connected to the Time Capsule?
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Vlad

    Vlad, this might help...
    *Accessing External Hard Disk*
    Open a Finder window
Select the Time Capsule in the Sidebar on the left.
Click "Connect As..." in the upper right of the window.
Enter the Name of your Time Capsule & its' password (Note: NOT your own Username & password).
Check "Remember password in my Keychain."
You should now see a blue share folder with the name of your Time Capsule.
Any hard disks attached to the Time Capsule’s USB port will also appear here as blue share folders. To mount them on your desktop double-clicking their blue folders. If you had a separate password setup for those disks in Airport Utility then enter that password if asked. Otherwise, it should now mount on your desktop.
Let us know if this solves your issue. If, however, the drive is not showing up either on the Desktop or the Sidebar, you may still need to do the following...
    *On Desktop*
In the Finder, go to the Finder menu and select "Preferences".
    Click “General” in the toolbar.
Ensure that all the items under "Show these items on the desktop" are checked.
    Close the preference window.
    *In Finder SideBar*
In the Finder, go to the Finder menu and select "Preferences".
    Click “SideBar” in the toolbar.
Ensure that all the items under "Devices" & “Shared” are checked.
    Close the preference window.
    Did this resolve the issue?
As for Disk Utility, bear in mind that DU won't "see" network attached storage devices unless they are already mounted on the Desktop. And even then they are sometimes not "seen" by DU. If you are going to do any work on a network attached storage device avoid attempting to do it wirelessly. Best to connect it directly to the Mac (USB/Firewire), or at the very least via ethernet.
    Hope this helps. Cheers!

  • Migration Assistant can not find my backups on Time Capsule

Yesterday I installed a fresh copy of OS X leopard and wanted to recover data from time capsule using migration assistant, the first time that I connected to TC using migration assistant it found everything on my TC and was calculation the size of that account there but suddenly it went away and now when I connect to time capsule it says (migration assistant) that there is 0 backup found. I can myself recover some data from time capsule which I stored just as a disk drive which means that the hard drive of TC is working , the sparsebundle is even there . but no result.
Even when I want to go to time machine with the icon in menu bar it takes too much time says; connecting to server but nothing happens !
Please help all the data from years ago are there !!
    null

For backups on a Time Capsule, you may have to mount the sparsebundle first.
Open Finder. Click on Time Capsule -> Time Capsule Disk -> yourbackup.sparsebundle. Double-click on it and press Skip when prompted. Your sparsebundle should now be mounted on your Desktop.
Try to +Browse Other Time Machine disks+ via the ctrl-click on the TM icon.

  • Deleting files on laptop = deleted files on time capsule?

My Mac Book Pro has a 250G hard drive and my time capsule has a 500G hard drive. My laptop's hard drive is almost full, and I was wondering if I deleted some files from my laptop, would time capsule still keep them? I know it means only one copy therefore not truly "backed-up" but I would only delete less important files, such as old documents from school that I would like to keep on the time capsule but wouldn't be too upset if lost. Considering that my time capsule is twice as large as my laptop's hard drive, I would like to keep some files there and be able to delete them off my laptop to make more room on my laptop. Can this be done, or will deleting the files on my laptop automatically cause those files to be deleted on the time capsule the next time it backs-up? Thank you for your time!

    matt2125 wrote:
So its is my understanding that time capsule will not start deleting old back-ups until its full and needs to make space for new backups?
Not entirely. It routinely "thins" backups according to the schedule on the Preferences window. The first backup of the day is kept for at least a month; all others are deleted after 24 hours. After a month, it keeps one per week.
So if you delete something that's only been on your Mac for a few hours, the backup may be gone in as little as 24 hours; if it was there for less than a week, the backup may be gone after a month.
Plus, there are many, many threads in this and the Time Machine forums where Time Machine had to do a very large or full backup unexpectedly, and had to delete many old backups to make room.
If you value your files, don't do that -- you're playing with fire.
Your best bet is to get a larger internal HD, so there's room for everything.
Second best is, get an external HD for the "overflow," and let Time Machine back up both your internal HD and the "overflow" drive.
Third best is to "archive" some data, to CDs/DVDs or a portable external HD. If you use CDs or DVDs, make two copies, and store at least one in a dry place out of the sun (and one off-site, such as your safe deposit box). Every year or so, read them back in and re-copy them, as they don't last forever (especially the --cheap-- inexpensive ones).

  • Can't find European land in Time Capsule setting

I have purchased TM from USA and can't find European land in Time Capsule setting.

Apple sells products that have been "regionalized" for different parts of the world.  North America, South America, Europe, Southeast Asia, etc, for example.
It is not possible to change a Time Capsule from one region to another. The reason for this is that different regions have different wireless standards and regulations. See this link for all the details:
List of WLAN channels - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Time Capsule purchased in the USA will operate from 100-240 Volts and 50/60 Hz automatically, so power wise, it will work just about anywhere in the world if you have the right kind of AC wall socket adapter. (A power transformer or converter is not needed).
But, you will have to be careful about using higher 5 GHz wireless channels on the USA Time Capsule while in Europe, since the use of higher 5 GHz channels is not legal in most European countries at this time.  In other words, keep the 5 GHz channel on the USA Time Capsule at Channel 36, 40, 44 or 48.

  • Deleted files from Time Capsule by mistake. How can i recover them?

I was using DiskTracker to organize the contents of Time Capsule. I deleted some folders from within DiskTracker unaware that this would delete files from Time Capsule itself.
I have several recovery software but none of them is able to see Time Capsule, as it is connected through my Lan. I have a lot of valuable data and i would appreciate any suggestion or help on recovering these folders. Please note that i have not written or deleted any files since the accident.

  • Mac can not see time capsule

i bought Time capsule over Amazon .Air port works fine , but my mac can not see time capsule,,,sometime does , but most of the time not...
It is a problem with time capsule i have 2 T new generation

You don't mention what type of Mac you have, but is there any way you can move it around to see if that affects the problem?  If you hold down an "option" key while you pull down the AirPort/WiFi menu bar item, you should see a value labeled "RSSI" that is the strength of the wireless signal.   A value closer to zero is stronger.  For example, -30 is decent but -80 is poor.
By the way, you don't seem to have declared any of your system details in your profile or didn't select your details to be included in your post.  Those can help people give you correct advice.  To update that, click on "Your Stuff" near the top of a window on these discussion groups, then on "Profile".  Scroll down to "My Products" and either edit an existing one or add a new one.

  • My computers do not find the disk in time capsule.

I am trying to set up my Time Capsule. Wireless connection went okay, although unstable sometimes, but none of my computers (iMac and MBPs) find the hard disk inside of Time Capsule; neither does Airport Utility. I cannot use Time Machine! Frustrating, extremely. Do not know what go wrong. I am using Airport Utility 5.3.1, MacOSX 10.5.2.

Though this is answered, I am not sure it is. The problem isnt the name of the TC or the HD, or checking the "remember this password" box ... or clicking connect as. I'm having the same probem after a week + of use.
I set up my TC, i connected 2 laptops via ethernet. I backed them both up. I was able to back them up now-and-again via wireless. I am always able to connect to the internet, not a problem. However, after a day of use with no problem, I seem to encounter a problem with connecting to the TC. If I turn the laptops off and then on the next day, I still get the net, and can print, but i cant get to the TC itself. I wil see it in finder, i can click it, SOMETIMES itll show my root directory and the 2 other hard drives connected... but if i click into any of them, it cycles forever. If i click the "CONNECT AS" button it still cycles forever.
The ONLY way to get back to the TC via wireless is to turn it off and on again. Then, it works like a champ.
So . .there's clearly an issue with re-connecting wirelessly to the TC after a restart

  • Airport utility does not find any airport and time capsule hardware

Hi, I have 4 airport expresses (2 for music and one for extending network) and a time capsule that also acts as my wifi router. The expresses have always appeared and disappeared from the express utility, while the TC is always listed. Now airport utility cannot find find any of them, and after many rescans, and a few "successful" hard reboots (in the sense that they were configured, but then disappeared again), still does not see them. The strange thing is that the TC has to be working because this computer is hooked up to the internet via the wifi router, and it is working fine. Any ideas? The expresses are not that big of a deal, as I can always plug an ipod to play music, but they used to work. I am on 5.4.2 on the utility, having rolled it back a few months ago when some of these problems begain. thanks

    Welcome to the discussions!
It sounds like you are trying to scan for and configure your Apple devices using wireless. If you haven't tried this yet, I think you will have much better luck if you connect an ethernet cable directly from your computer to the device that you are trying to "see".
If this does not work at first, it may help to power down both your computer and the device, then connect the ethernet cable and power the computer and device back up.

  • Unable to delete files from Time Capsule disk

A while back I copied my user folder from my iMac on to my Time Capsule disk, which is mounted as a drive on my iMac's desktop. I now want to delete that copy. After some struggling with locked files I have managed to get it so that all I have left is a small hierarchy of folders containing no files. When I try to delete any of these folders, though, I get the error message: "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items." Info says that I have read & write privileges to every folder in the hierachy.
Can anyone suggest a way that I can get rid of these few remaining folders? They are really bugging me!

Some of you are going to love this!!
Ok, after talking with someone at Apple, I was reminded of a simple Unix Command to do the job, even on Time Capsule. Here's what worked for me:
Time Capsule is connected to my Mac, via an Ethernet cable-- I don't know if this matters or not, maybe it will work over the wireless connection too, let me know!
You'll need to pull up Terminal in Applications > Utilities. It's a dangerous tool that Unix and Linux people use with skill all the time, but you have to be careful, cause it will cause permanent changes-- that is what I want here, of course. Just be extremely careful, ok? You have been warned.
    type "cd /Volumes"
    press Return
Now you're in the "Volumes" folder
type "ls" (as in the letter L)
    press Return
You should see your Time Capsule folder (whatever you named it)-- type "cd " and that particular name
Navigate till you can type "ls" and you can see the folder you are trying to delete.
Then, the command that worked for me is this:
(Please double check that "myFolderToDelete" is indeed the one that you want to delete!)
    sudo rm -rfd myFolderIWantToDelete
After a few seconds for the hard drive in the time capsule to spin up, it worked! Yea!
In fact, to be safe, if I were you, I would even go into Finder first and try to rename that folder, call it "myFolderToDelete" !!!
Why didn't I try this before? I've used Terminal, I should have thought of it before! bad nerd!
But the important thing is, problem solved .
A few things to note is that I was trying to delete a folder full of "Locked" files. If I wanted to delete several locked files that are not currently in a folder, I could make a new folder, and drag those files into it... now you have a folder you can delete. Just rename it "toBeDeleted" or something like that.
Finally, note that I am not currently using Time Machine (the automated backup program) with this Time Capsule, so I don't know if it will delete the Time Machine backup -- haven't tried that yet.
    Good Luck!

  • Pages 5.0 missing connecting text boxes/Old version not in Time Capsule

I have upgraded to Mavericks ... also Pages 5.0 ... I am prepping my year end documents and when opening the docs, notice that I have to UPGRADE the document to work with this version. Once in, I see there are many features that are broken. For me, the connected text boxes are the most disturbing problem. I wanted to open the doc with Pages 4, but that is not possible. The file has been changed. I went into Time Capsule to find the older version so that I could restore it and open it with the older version of Pages, but it's been deleted from history .... really? ... my documents have been destroyed, and the history wiped out. This is why I switced from Windows. Deep breath ... is there some help out there?

I've tried it a couple of times now, albeit with test documents I made specially. Here are the steps again...
Open it in Pages 5 and go to File > Revert to > Browse all versions...
Use the Time Machine interface to restore the version before you opened in Pages 5. You'll get a repeat of the warning about how your document is going to be messed up, but you can OK that.
    Close the document.
You should now be able to open the same document in Pages '09.
