Find dialogue in toolbar

With new Reader the Find dialogue is a small window with tiny Next and Previous buttons. It also moves around so I have to check and move the mouse pointer for every Next when I want to use the mouse to press the button. Do anyone know how to place the dialogue on the upper or lower bar as  it used to be. I can't find any option to have it as before in the preferences.

You can't change its location or dock it. However, it should not move around, but always appear in the same location.
To perform a new search you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F and F3 will go to the next search result (Shift+F3 will go to the previous one).

  • Adding 'FIND' functionality in toolbar of ALV Web Dynpro ABAP

    Hi Friends,
I need to know whether we can add FIND functionality in toolbar of ALV display. If yes than which class will help in that, or do i need to code it.
    Pls help on this.
    Regards,
    Saud

    Hi Saud,
If you mean that you need to highlight the Field-Value then, you can use Set Focus On A Table Cell .
You can use the method REQUEST_FOCUS_ON_VIEW_ELEM of if_wd_view.
For this, you can see this post --
How to set focus on a specific UI field at the start of an application?
Further, you have to design 'find input-screen', submitting which will set focus on the cell that contains requested value.
This way, you can add ( or somehow, simulate ) the Functionality of FIND, although not per se.
    Thanks.

  • During Import and Export, Mavericks' Finder dialogue (save as) box disappears.

When I am trying to change the name and location of a video export from Premiere Pro CC in Mavericks, the Finder dialogue box that comes up to choose the location disappears when I attempt to browse for a new location.  This happens in Adobe Media Encoder as well.  Does not happen in After Effects or any other application from what I can tell so far.  Import dialogue box has a similar problem.  My OS and CC stuff is all up to date including the After Effects 12.0.1 patch.  Submitted a bug report to Adobe.  Anyone else experiencing this?

I took the Lacie Thundebolt esata hub out of the chaing then repatched the drives so that they don't come from the thunderbolt daisy change patch on the back of the thunderbolt display and the issue isn't happening.  The Adobe Suites are the only apps that were having the issue.
So This config works:  MBP TB1--->Lacie Raid Drives Then  MBP TB2-->TBolt Display->BM Ultrastudio Express
This does not work with Adobe  MBP TB1-->TBolt Display --->Thunderbolt Drives   MBP TB2--->either T-Tap or MB Ultrastudio Express
Of course, now the problem is that the video cards must be connected either from the back of the Thunderbolt display or the end of the drive daisy chain.  The drag would be for those having only one T-bolt port on the MBP.

  • How can I find the yahoo toolbar which contains "identity safe" which contains all of my passwords?

I can't find the yahoo toolbar which included identity safe, where all my automatic passwords were located.

While Finder is active, press Command-F (Find in the File menu).
In that window you can set search criteria. In the second sub-toolbar should be a couple of buttons representing pulldown menus; by default, the first usually shows "kind". Click that one.
In the menu that opens, if "Size" or "File Size" is not available, select "Other". Then in the new window select "Size" or "File Size" and okay the window. From then on that choice will be available in the first pulldown menu.
You can use that to search your drive.
Note - by clicking the "+" button at the far right of the strip containing the pulldown menus, you can add additional search criteria, thus restricting a search to exactly what you want.

  • I cannot find a Google Toolbar add-on that is compatible with Firefox 7.0.1. Is it true that there isn't one?

My Dell Inspiron 1464 laptop crashed recently and Dell replaced the hard drive and re-installed Win 7 Home Premium, 64 bit. I bought the laptop in 2009 and soon experienced a lot of compatibility problems between the computer and peripherals, like printers, and in some Web applications. I did some Web research and it seemed that the problems were related to the Win 7 64 bit OS. I talked to Dell and they acknowledged that my problems might be due to that 64 bit version. They sent me the 32 bit installation disc to replace the OEM 64 bit version and I downgraded the OS on my Dell. This seemed to solve my problems, so I have been using that until the computer crashed on 30 Sept. this year.
After it crashed, I contacted Dell and we walked through a number of diagnostic tests and, although we couldn't find anything obviously wrong with the HDD, it just wouldn't load Win 7 and wouldn't boot. Dell concluded that the HDD was well and truly buggered somehow.
They sent me a box and I sent the laptop to them for repair.
Dell replaced the HDD and re-installed the 64 bit Win version at my request, since I had been advised by my IT guys at work that more things were now compatible with the 64 bit version than when I bought it in 2009. In addition, I had purchased a newer printer and other external bits in the past year and expected that I wouldn't have the compatibility issues now. With the full original version, I would be able to use more of my computer's resources.
Before I sent the computer back to Dell for repair, I took it to Staples and had the Tech Support guys there transfer the data from the wonky hard drive to an external drive, which they did successfully. In fact, I did this on advice from one of the Dell tech support techs with whom I spoke.
I got the computer back from Dell this last week and re-downloaded Firefox, which is my preferred browser, but I can't seem to add the Google Toolbar to it, now. I have the Google toolbar on Internet Explorer and have used it in earlier versions of Firefox, especially the "translate" function, since I do considerable research in documents in many languages. When I tried to download the Google Toolbar and add it to my new Firefox installation, it says I can't. When I do an Internet search I find many posts saying that Google Toolbar does not work with any Firefox of versions 5 or higher. Is this true? If not, how can I add Google Toolbar to my Firefox 7.0.
    Thank you.
    Mark Fritzler

You can turn off compatibility checking, but more and more of the Google Toolbar will not work. Google is no longer supporting the Google Toolbar so you should use the alternatives.
    Hi Mark,
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_Google_Toolbar_features_without_toolbars
If you have an aspect that is not covered, indicate what that is; otherwise, expect you to be fully functional within 1-2 weeks.

  • Find button on toolbar won't search current page

    Post Author: sarasew13
    CA Forum: .NET
I'm having an issue with the Find button on the standard report viewer toolbar for ASP.  When I enter a search term and click on find, it starts searching on the next page even though there are entries (several) that match on the current page.
I found one mention on the internet that says it only searches forward (if you search from page 5 you won't get the entry on page 2) which is fine.  However, this keeps the user from searching from page 1 (for example) when they are on page 1.  If this is forward only (and that was only mentioned on a site not related to Microsoft or Crystal) then shouldn't it still look on the current page?
    Anyone else have this issue?

Yes. I'm using Crystal Reports for VS 2005 (ASP.NET). I don't see much written about this issue, but it sure annoys me, and my users won't like it either. Unless there is a better alternative, I'll remove the Find feature from the reports completely so that I don't have to deal with user complaints. They can use the browser Find to search a page at a time, or export the report and search using the exported format's application.

  • Finder always "hides Toolbar"

when I open a new window in Finder, the Toolbar is always hidden - so I go to "view" and change the setting to "show" toolbar. After doing that, it opens a new window with the toolbar every time.
But what can I do to force osx to always open a finder window with a toolbar showing? I would rather that the default setting showed the toolbar. Any tips?

    Hi,
You try this ..... go to the Preferences folder and look for the com.apple.finder.plist
Drag this plist file to the desktop and reboot your Mac.
The Finder window will NOW be as you ever opened for the first time without your Preferences settings.
Now try to open a NEW Finder window and check if the Finder opens with the toolbar.

  • Finder: Safari Community Toolbar Issue

While searching through Finder I will almost always receive a pop-up window that is titles "Community Toolbar" It then proceeds to inform me that the Safari I am currently running is out of date and the toolbar cant be opened. However everything on the computer is update especially Safari

There is another poster, posting the exact same issue your having.
It can be seen here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2243774&tstart=0
If the solution provided work; the poster has not let it be known.
A 3rd party plugin is usually the cause of such pop-ups.
Execute the steps in the other posting or post back here or abandon this post and post back in the other post (mentioned above) and provide feedback as too whether the solution worked.

  • Finder icon in toolbar acting differently

Hi, I just started work at a new office, and am having a little trouble with the computer. On my home computer, when I am using other applications and I need to check open folders in the finder, I'd just go down to the toolbar, hit the "finder" icon and all the finder folders would display at the front screen over whatever application i was using.
on the work computer, i press the finder icon and technically i'm using the finder application, BUT all of the folders in finder are still BEHIND the windows from all my other apps. this is easily remedied by pressing the finder icon again, but i'm used to the old way and i'd really rather keep it the way it is. i keep forgetting to press twice and i keep getting frustrated. i just want things to move fast and not do that extra push. anybody know what's going on?

How much free space is on the HD?
I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.

  • Finder keeps hiding toolbar when I reboot

Ok, I just upgraded to Tiger, and every time I reboot my powerbook the finder window that appears when OS X loads is the barebones, no toolbar version. Nothing I've done has made it stay the way I want (with the toolbar). Can anyone help?
I can upload a pic but I don't really see how that'll help.

"Repair Disk Permissions" from Disk Utility may help.
Also, deleting the following files (they are located inside your home directory)may help:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
    Mihalis.

  • Please help me find my HP toolbar!!

I recently purchased a HP HDX 16.  Internet Explorer initially had a "toolbar" very similar to the MSN toolbar but it had black HP icons such as HP Learn, Snapfish, and some other HP icons but I can't recall the others.  Anyway - I somehow removed this HP toolbar and can't figure out how to get it back.  I now have the MSN toolbar and I can flip it to a Bing toolbar.  I've tried everything I can think of and have read through tons of posts!   I would really like to have the HP icons back on my toolbar but I can't find any info about it. Has anyone else seen this toolbar?  Does anyone know how I can find it so I can restore it? Thanks!!!

I think i have solved the problem for this as it worked for me.Go to start menu then control panel and then open up programs.Click on program and features. In the list look for MSN toolbarclick once to highlight the program and then right clickYou then have an option the unistall or changeClick change and follow the instructionsThis should solve the problem hopefully

  • I had my nephew clean out my cookie's etc. Now I cannot find my firefox toolbar. I need to fix my private browsing and am unable to now w/o toolbar.

Used to open to facebook, now it makes me log in every time, so I tried to correct this by going to my firefox toolbar and fixing it...well, there is NO tool bar now. Do not know how to fix without tools. I think he also has it to where my cookies are being deleted each time I shut down my lap top. NOT cool! I use my laptop daily and this is annoying when I can't even fix that problem.

    Hi,
You can try to right-click on the + after the last tab and enable (tick) the '''Menu Bar'''. If it still refuses to appear you can try pressing '''Alt '''+ '''H '''(Help menu) > '''Troubleshooting Information''' > '''Show Folder''', exit Firefox, delete the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] file and then try the previous procedure.

    [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder & Files]
You can change the cookies setting in '''Tools '''('''Alt '''+ '''T''') > '''Options '''> [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20Privacy%20panel?as=u Privacy], beside '''Keep until'''.

  • Now that I've downloaded Firefox 4 I have a Yahoo toolbar which I don't want. I can't get rid of it and when I try to find my menu toolbar it isn't there, even when I hit ALT. I am extremly frustrated. Can anyone help, please?

I lost my Google toolbar but finally retrieved it, and cannot display my menu bar, which I need in order to print, etc.

    Hello,
In Firefox 4, you don't have the menu bar by default. You can view the menu bar by right click on the bar near the TAB's, you'll get a menu with choices, among the choices is "Menu bar" check that and you have your menu bar back.
