Find: Fade To White / Photo Snap Shot Transitions ??  Great place to buy...

Hello,
I'm looking for these two transitions plugins for FCP Studio.
1. Fade To White (isn't this available in FCP?)
2. Photo Snap Shot (maybe come with the sound effect too)
Also, do you have any recommendations for a great selection of transitions, filters and effect plugins for FCP.
I prefer buying individually and hopefully they demo how each one works! "In the perfect world of course."
Thanks

1. dip to color, you get to pick the color
2. see #1 or add a white matte, ramp up in 2 frames, immediately down in 4 frames
3. Check out Nattress, River Rock Studios, Sheffield Softworks, Eureka. There are plenty more. Google is your friend.

  • Oracle Snap Shots

I have a (Pro*c, C++) programme which processes data from snap shots into base tables. This programme runs as on the cron tab. The problem is if the problem kicks off while the snapshots are being refreshed, it finds 0 records in the snap shots and so no data gets into the base tables. Is there any way (oracle internal tables etc;) which I can use to see if the snap shot refresh process has completed and successfully ?
    Appreciate any hints.

    Seth,
There is no problem. If you can make it as a view, you can make it as MView. I do it and I have no problems. You just need to implement smart refresh mechanism, of cource.
btw, MView and Snapshot is exactly the same. You have no "Snap Shot tables", you have MViews of the master tables :)

  • Stock snap shot

    Hi..
We have implemented 2LIS_03_BX  for Initial stock( Till day) and 2LIS_03_BF for movements ( from today).
So we are not loading any past movements.we are interested only in movements from today.
Now, the clients wants to see the weekly(starting from current week) snap shot of stock quantities and values(Like total inventory quantities and Values). For this scenario, 2LIS_03_BX and 2lis_03_BF  are suffiecient if i read  the material value from the MBEW table in update rule? or  do i need to implement 2LIS_03_UM as well?...If i use 2LIS_03_UM will satisfy my requirement?.
    Thanks.
    Mummaneni.

    Hi Mummaneni,
Based on your client requirement, loading data from BF after initializing stock using BX would be sufficient to view your stock qty for each day provided you load the data daily.
Also ensure you do the marker update for BX and no marker update for initialized BF.
You can get your MAP values against your Material from MBEW table which BF does not bring.  There is a separate datasource that provides MAP values against Material...otherwise you could simply enhance BF with a new field.  BF normally provides you the unit and total purchase value of the goods.
UM is used to get the revaluations at cost that may happen from time to time.  It is similar to the sales price revaluations that you find in Retail based industries which frequently require use of 2LIS_40_REVAL datasource.
If it suits your requirement to get the price changes at cost, you may very well get BF data too...it might be necessary, I would say.  Also do a no marker update for BF initialized update for the first time incase you have some historical from R/3.
    Award points if helpful...

    Aby

  • How do I get a black and white photo in Photoshop Elements 11?

I have a very old version of Photoshop, release 6 I believe.  In that release, I am able to use enhance/brightness and contrast, and when I slide the contrast to 100%, I get a pure black and white image of my photo.  I Photoshop 11, which I just purchased today, I am unable to get a pure black and white image, only grayscale.  I cut pictures out of wood, and it's fundamentally necessary that I can contrast pictures into pure black and white.  How do I do that in Photoshop 11?  The first screenshot is what I need in Photoshop 11, the second screen shot is the limitation I'm seeing in Photoshop 11.  How do I get a black and white photo??

(I edited this reply because I originally couldn't see the screen shots.)
There was a change made a few versions ago where Brightness and Contrast were improved so that they did not clip values so quickly. This was intended to improve how Brightness and Contrast worked for photographs, but it makes it work less well for purposes such as channel manipulations or printmaking.
In Photoshop there is a Legacy check box in Brightness/Contrast to make it work the "old" way when that is desired. It looks like that check box isn't in Photoshop Elements, which is what you're actually using. I'm not sure if there is a way to get the Legacy behavior in Elements, so you'll want to ask over in the Photoshop Elements forum.

  • Why do some black-and-white photos disappear in Mac Preview and Safari?

I sent a PDF to a colleague recently only to discover that he uses Mac Preview to view PDFs and not Adobe Reader. The unfortunate part is that, although full-color photos all appeared, small black-and-whites were inconsistent: some appeared and others did not.
Moreover, the same problem turns up when using Safari, though Google Chrome displays the PDF perfectly.
One reference point is that a full version of the PDF appears just fine in Preview and Safari. It's when the original is reduced or optimized that some of the small black-and-white photos disappear. Of course all photos appear in Reader, even when they PDF is reduced or optimized.
I have examined the small photos and have been unable to find any consistent trait among those that appear and among those that do not. I have experimented with them: layered and flat, with and without alpha channels, with and without profiles, as RGB and grayscale, with byte order for IBM PC and Mac, as TIFFs and JPEGs — in other words in every variation I could think of. I have used both Acrobat Pro 8.3.1 and Acrobat XI. Nothing I have tried has varied the outcome.
The obvious solution is to avoid Mac Preview and Safari, but I am planning to distribute a complicated project to a large audience and can't control what viewers they use.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

As I reported and you confirm, the things I tried had no effect.
You point to the compression and image settings, but that leaves the question why some photos and not others showed up: presumably they were all subjected to the same compression and image settings.
There are a great many possible permutations of compression and image settings, and I'm on deadline. Is there perhpas a combination of compression and image settings you recommend?
    Thanks!

  • How to fade in a photo

    Hi Everyone
I came across this site a few days ago, and I have been
trying to recreate it with no luck. Perhaps you could suggest how
it is done if you were to take a look. I think it is really neat!
I can change the alpha on a symbol to fade in a photo or a
graphic, but this goes much further than that. So any suggestions
or tutorials would be appreciated. I am using Macromedia Flash Pro
    MX 2004.
    Thanks,
    Phil
    Here is the site -
    www.vispring.co.uk

Basically, as you know, you can have the blank picture on one
level and do a shape tween that starts with it having a completely
opaque Alpha and ends with a completely transparent alpha. The
white shape will gradually fade out leaving the image below.
But as you say this goes further. It goes from a total blur to
a sharp image. I think that the blur effect that comes with the
latest version of Flash has blur settings that can change over time
in a tween. Which would probably be exactly what you are looking
    for.
The only other way I can think of to do a progressively
different blur in 2004, which is all I have, is to do it manually
in Photoshop to each frame. Part of the process can be automated
and the blur setting increased each time and saved. A sequence of
photos with consecutive numbers as the last part of the filename
(not the dot suffix) can be loaded into flash. The layer below the
transformation, the background, does not have to be included in the
    portion made in PhotoShop.
I suspect that a portion of the final photo is whited out
during the start of the transformation.
NOTE: I would like for someone to verify that the blur
settings are (or are not) tweenable in Flash CS3.

  • I burned my first iDVD andpicture quality is not good.  Originals are excellent.  My photos are shot in raw or jpeg, both are not sharp when I view my DVD.  I viewed it on my 1080 dpi tv and my new apple computer.

There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:
    http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico:  http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie  as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast,  for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!
To simply create a slide show in iDVD 7 onwards from images in iPhoto or stored in other places on your hard disk or a connected server, look here:

  • Coloring in Black and White photos

How do you color in a black and white photo?

Actually you can very easily add color to a B&W picture using the Adjustment Brush with the 'Color' option set to the color you want to paint on the image area. You may also find using the 'Auto Mask' setting helps to confine the brush strokes to the area you are trying to fill. If you accidentally paint outside an area hold down the ALT key, which puts a in the brush allowing you to remove the color.
You can also use this in reverse with a color image by first painting over the entire image using a large Adjustment Brush with Saturation set to -100. Next hold down the ALT key and paint (i.e. remove) in the area you want to reveal the original color. Optionally you can set a new Adjustment brush using the Color picker as detailed above for a B&W image to paint in a different color.
You actually have three different options for painting inside LR and maybe even more if you think outside the box!

  • Black and white photo printed sort of pink...what's wrong

I  have a HP 7520 Photosmart all in one printer.  Has been printing fine until today. I was trying to print an old black and white photo. It came out sort of pink.  Have tried all the tips I could find. What is wrong?

The black ink is pigmented and not compatible with photo paper so when printing on photo paper only the color and photo inks are used. A pinkish result would indicate that cyan is not printing properly.  The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the issue.

  • Adding color to a black and white photo

I've searched everywhere on here and on Youtube and can't seem to find how I can add color to a black and white photo using Aperture 3 that was taken in black and white.

Hi, and welcome to the list. Make sure you read the [Help & Terms of Use|http://discussions.apple.com/help.jspa] section when you get a chance.
It's not a good idea to insert a new question into someone else's post. First as you are not the originator of the post you can not assign solved or helpful ratings to any answers you get here. And the forum really relies on those to help other users locate meaningful responses.
Secondly your question is less likely to get answered. readers of the post will be looking to either give advice on the original question or else be looking for answers to the question. A new question stuck in between the other replies is less likely to be noticed. It's always best to start a new thread and if something in another post applies you can always link to it.
Now to your question. There was a great solution given to your very problem back a little while ago, see: [Topic : Black, white, and color?|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12805425&#12805425]

  • Determining colors in a black and white photo

I don't know if Photoshop can do this, but I really need to bring color to a black and white photo. I'm not looking to add color by imagining or guessing; I need to find out the actual colors. Is this possible? If photoshop can't do it but another program can, please let me know.
    Thank you.

Just for interest sake, make a screen grab of your swatch panel, and paste it into a new Photoshop document.  Add a B&W adjustment layer, and have a think about what colour each shade of grey represents.  You can turn the B&W adjustment layer off and on again to help you along.

  • Fade to White Causing Gradient Mesh Rasterization

This may or may not be a bug, but let me explain what just happened to me.  I'm using AI CS4 on a PC.  Now, "Flattener Preview" kept showing all my gradient meshes as rasterized.  This didn't seem right to me (but I've been using AI all of three weeks), and it seemed to have caused the borders of all my meshes to become jagged in view and print.  So, I set out to find out what could have caused this.  Through a process of elimination, I discovered a very tiny highlight that I had drawn with the "Blob Brush Tool" had been filled with the "Fade to White" color off the "Basic RGB" color swatch.  I then filled that object with pure white, and now "Flattener Preview" shows all to be fine as judged by the fact that all selections within "Flattener Preview" are grayed out.
I still may have a problem because I still see some of my mesh borders as being jagged.  So, is my illustration permanently damaged?  Am I going to have to redraw my meshes?  If I select a mesh and run "Flatten Transparency", I know I can choose "Convert all strokes to outlines", which I read somewhere may solve the jaggies problem.  I can experiment with this, but should I do this, and if so, what are the ramifications?  After this experience, I'm just a little concerned that this illustration I've been working on for the last two weeks may either be ruined or I may now ruin it out of ignorance.
    Thanks,
    Paul

After this experience, I'm just a little concerned that this illustration I've been working on for the last two weeks may either be ruined or I may now ruin it out of ignorance.
Why? That's why people use incremental saving and versioning. Just work on a copy of the current state. The rest is not clear, but I suspect you somehow inadvertently mixed RGB and CMYK or spot colors and thus the blending of the colors gives weird resuts. Expanding the artwork may offer a solution, if not the most practical one. Anotehr may be to run it through the Recolor Artwork process to get clean colors. the only real stinker with gradient meshes is, though, that you first need to select the gradient points for it to have any effect on them...
