Find Friends Location on iPhone not working after reset

My grandson recently reset his iPhone 6 for reasons related to certain music not syncing properly with iTunes. As a result of the reset, his location is labeled "not available" in the Find Friends app when others are trying to find him. He can still see his friends locations. They just can't see him (his phone). Interestingly, in his Find My Friends app, under Me, it shows "location services off". But under Settings, Privacy, Location Services, it shows "On" and Find Friends app is showing "While Using". His iCloud account is also showing Share My Location as "On" From his iPhone ("This Device").
Any help as to what could be causing this would be most appreciated.

We were able to fix the issue by doing the following:
In Settings select Privacy, Location Services and scroll down to the bottom and select System Services. While everything was green (switched on), we turned Share My Location off and then back on. His location is now available to his friends (and parents). I have no idea why this worked to fix the issue, but it did.

If you reset to factory that is expected behavior. You need to connect to iTunes to bring it into the Apple World. You should then be able to connect to the network of your cell provider.

TS4006 Locate my iPhone not working plz help!

Software Version 5.1(9B176) I have always had "locate my iPhone" activated and working correctly. For some reason it isn't working now. It will not locate my iPhone. It just says "location not available". Location services is turned on and Locate my iPhone is on. Can anyone help?

Solution: even though "Find my iPhone" was turned on under "Location Services" and under "iCloud" all I did was click on iCloud under Settings on my iphone and location services began working. I dot understand this but it is now working. Hope this helps someone in the future with the same issue!

Email in my iphone not working after icloud

hi, woke up this morning and realized I wasn't getting incoming emails in my laptop. When I log into icloud, mail is all there. So I was able to manually change my preferences (not exactly sure what I did - but email is wokring on my laptop now). But for my iphone, not so much. I tried to go into Settings for Mail and then got a bit stuck after that. Do I add Server name and if so, what do I enter in there? I tried to enter in smtp.mail.me.com but it failed. Can someone give me some step by step instructions for an iphone dummy like me? (my iphone is a 3G so not so new....) Is that the issue?

There are a few things you can try. The first is to simply reset the Shuffle as it may be the cause of the issue.
Resetting iPod shuffle
Otherwise, also make sure that the earbuds are plugged all the way in and that the white part of the headset is flush with the body of the Shuffle.
If possible, use another set of earbuds to see if they work okay. If they do, we know its the headset that is the problem and from there you'll need to take the necessary steps to replace them.

Iphone not starting after reset

i have one iphone 3. i choose reset all settings option to remove the numbers, names and other stuff. it said, iphone will take one hour. after doing this, apple sign is continuously on my screen. even i press home and top buttom for minutes, it didnt switch off. its choosing to switch-off with a bling by its own but then immediately apple icon appears. i tried to reconnent it through itunes but nothing worked. even holding the home screen and attaching the cable. many other ways to rectify it but all waste... its not even charging. it shows red mark (battery out) often. trying to figurew out the restoration but nothing helping. could u guys plz help me with this. thanks.

Sounds like the Activation Lock is still set to the previous owner. If you are unable to get that Apple ID and password that iPhone is totally useless to you.
Take it back to the shop and demand your money back because they sold it to under false pretenses.

I had to reset my iphone and after resetting it, holding down the power and home keys until the apple showed up none of my apps will work. The app screen will come up for a second or two and then it switches back to my home screen. Any remedies for this?

If only 3 apps, try deleting and re-installing the apps first.
Restoring your iPhone with iTunes is selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences.
Restoring completely erases your iPhone followed by re-installing the firmware. After the firmware is re-installed, you will be prompted to restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, which is the default selection. There is another option - restore as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
Your iPhone's backup includes data such as most iPhone settings, email account settings, contact info, SMS messages, notes, recent calls, call favorites, photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll, and 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app.
Your iPhone's backup is updated if needed as the first step during the sync process.
Before restoring an iPhone with iTunes, it is a good idea to import the photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll - as with any other digital camera. Not a good idea to depend on your iPhone's backup alone for these photos, and contact info is designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer - so also not a good idea to depend on your iPhone's backup alone for contact info.
After an iPhone is restored from the backup or as a new iPhone or not from the backup, this must be followed by a sync.
Before restoring an iPhone, sync your iPhone immediately before doing so to update your iPhone's backup if needed.

"1" key still not working after reset

I posted a while ago about my 1 key not working on my laptop (iBook G3 800MHz)or an external keyboard. I was advised to try resetting PRAM and then PMU. I finally did both with some help and the process did not fix the "1" key. I am only able to type a "1" by using the num lock key on the laptop or the 10-key pad on the external keyboard.
Does anyone have any more suggestions as to how I can try to fix this problem?

P.S. A friend of mine told me to hide the keyboard .plist from the preferences library but there was no such plist. Is this a difference between 10.3.9 and the new 4.0 OSX? I saw the keyboard .plist on her machine but when I got home I didn't have one.

Radio buttons not working after resetting

I have a form with two radio buttons for each question. Each question is in its own frame "Q1," "Q2," etc. I also have a btn_Reset created to reset the form, i.e. reset all radio buttons and return to "Q1" frame. All buttons work as they should, including resetting the radio buttons, however, once I reset the radio buttons and return to "Q1" to start over, the actions associated with each radio button upon clicking on them do not work. Here's my code:

Iphone not working after update to 7.06. from 7.04.

I updated my iphone from ios 7.04 to ios 7.06. The phone stopped suddenly. I can do nothing. The phone is showing the apple sign in display from last day. My Itunes don't detect my iphone. Could you please give a suggestion to make it work? I think I should not have updated to newer version.

Why do my iphone not work after trying to syncronise

I really hope that someone in this space can help me.
This morning I tried to load my Iphone battery.
I also updated my phone.
Then My computer asked me if I would syncronise with my PC,
unfortunately I said yes and afterwords I got this message that If I did that
I would loose all my data from my Iphone 4.
I the stopped this syncronising and now I simply cannot open my phone, that is
I cannot conect to Itunes on my phone.
Do I really have to upload all my data again. Does this problem come due to that i did not register my phone
on itunes.

Can someone help?I purchased iphone in USA (I live in U.K.)Got it to work in U.K. on O2 using correct sim, etc. Updated to firmware 3.1.3 now all I get when I enter iTunes is a message "The sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported" Can anyone help resolve this issue so I can use my beloved iphone again?

The iPhone is sold in the U.S. as carrier locked with AT&T only. If you are using an O2 SIM card with the iPhone, this means your iPhone was hacked to be unlocked. Installing a firmware update on a carrier locked iPhone that has been hacked to be unlocked re-locks the iPhone to the designate carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked with - in this case with AT&T, and the same applies when restoring such an iPhone with iTunes if wanted or needed.
Hacking a carrier locked iPhone to unlock it or for any reason is against Apple's license agreement for the iPhone, is not supported by Apple directly or indirectly via these discussions, and voids the warranty.
