  • Find crashing apps

Does someone knows how to find crashing apps on your devise?? When I took my iPad to an Apple Store in Florida they found apps that make my iPad's battery drain, nnow I'm having the same issue and I don't know how to find those apps.
    IPad4 with retina display , iOS 8.1.2

Did you check Settings/General/Usage/Battery and scroll down to find the apps listed that used your battery in the last 24 hours or the last 7 days?
Probably apps running in the background are causing this, sometimes Mail get's stuck connecting to the mail server, or some social media app like Facebook can also be a reason for prolonged background activity.
Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

  • HT201322 How do i find an accidently hidden app on my ipad

Somehow my original youtube on my ipad got hidden and i dont know how it happened but I looked it up in searchlight and i found it but i dont know how to find out what app its hidden in. Please help and thank you in advance for anyone that does.

Did you purchase the app on your iPad, or through iTunes on your computer?  If you downloaded directly to your iPad, the icon likely loaded onto a different page.  On your home screen, swipe your finger to the left and keep doing that until you find the page the App went to.  Once you see it and you want to move it to hour home screen, hold your finger on the App until it jiggles.  Then while holding the App slide to the left edge of the page and it will move to the next page back and so on and so on......

  • App store not finding an app, "Your request could not be completed."

There are a number of websites that direct you to the app store, but once there a message appears "Your request could not be completed." most recently, this happened with Pandora. I tried searching the app store and still couldn't find the app. Any suggestions?

I'm running Pandora from my iPad right now so I know the app is available from the App Store..
Tap the App Store icon    (not iTunes)
Select Categories at the bottom of the screen then type  pandora radio   in the search field top right corner of the window.

  • WiFi Tether Your Android Tablet to Your Cell Phone - LG Marquee Boost Mobile Example

    Greetings Earthlings and Android Fans....
Just posted this to my blog and wanted to share a text version here. Check it out if you're looking to tether your tablet to your cell phone. I tethered my Thrive to my Boost Mobile LG Marquee.
From:  Kaio's Klassroom: WiFi Tether Your Android Tablet to Your Cell Phone - LG Marquee Infrastruct...
Want to tether your tablet to your cell phone, but Ad-Hoc got you down?  How about trying this nifty little tweak that got me up in running in a jiffy!!
I recently got a new LG Marquee Prepaid Phone with Boost Mobile @Amazon and I really love it.  Only problem is, I was spoiled with my last phone because it was rooted to support Infrastructure tethering and I had no idea how difficult and unusual that was.  I've since done some research with my new Boost Mobile LG Marquee, and after a little trial and error (and some lucky Google searches) I have successfully tethered my LG Marquee to my Toshiba Thrive tablet!!!
    Here's what I did:
Mandatory Disclaimer - The following information is for informational purposes only.  Proceed at your own risk!!!  Rooting will void your warranty and could "brick" your phone if you do something wrong!!  So if you damage your phone, or any of your tech, that's on you.
NOTE: If you don't have an LG Marquee, just search "your phone model" + "root" and you should find plenty of information specific to your phone.  There's always people wanting to do the same thing you are, so it's just a matter of finding the information that's already out there.  Once your phone is rooted, come back here and start on Step 2.
Step 1 -- Root your LG Marquee (You do NOT need to root your Tablet)
The following information was taken from LG Cell Phones Blog and are for the LG Esteem, which is a generic root mod.
    > Enable USB Debugging on your LG Marquee: Go to Settings > Applications > Development > Enable Debugging and check the box.
    > Download and install the LG USB drivers at:  LG Cell Phones Blog You want the file "LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN32AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3. 2.1_2.exe"
    > After installing the USB drivers connect your phone to a PC.  On the phone, pull down the notification bar at the top of the phone's screen and click on USB Connected.  Set the phone to Internet Connection mode (CHARGE ONLY not Mass Storage).
    > Download "LG_Esteem_Root.zip"  at:  LG Cell Phones Blog.  Unzip the file and double-click on the run.bat file.
Note: Kaspersky Internet Security will flag this file as a Trojan: "Exploit.Linux.Lotoor.ag"  I don't believe this file is a Trojan, per se.  I believe it's required during the root process.  When I let Kaspersky eliminate the file, my phone wouldn't root.  So I decided to run the root program on a secondary computer, just in case.  I disabled Kaspersky temporarily on that computer, and ran the root zip and my phone rooted without a hitch.  I later scanned my phone with Webroot Security and AVG, and neither found any viruses on my phone, so I believe the process is safe.  Technically, rooting your phone probably does involve a Trojan hack, hence why Kaspersky flags that file.  However, I must reiterate to proceed at your own risk.
Just in Case -- How to Unroot Sprint LG Marquee:
Use root explorer and delete superuser.apk from the /system/app folder. Go to the Android market and download and install super user. Use root explorer again and delete su from /system/bin. Go to the market and uninstall super user.  Do a factory reset & you will be back to square one.
Step 2 -- Verify that you have properly rooted your phone with this nifty free app: Root Checker Basic
If you did everything right, you should get a message that says "Congratulations, this device has root access."  If you fail to get that message, go back to Step 1.
Step 3 -- Download the Android WiFi Tether for root users app
Currently, the only version of Android WiFi Tether that worked for me was 3.1-beta7.  The newest version doesn't work properly with tablets, so be sure to get 3.1-beta7.  Here's a link and QR code for easy access: WiFi Tether 3.1-beta7 apk
Step 4 -- Configure WiFi Tether app:
I've tried many settings, but these are the only ones that have worked.  Start the app and grant Super User Permissions.  Then Click Menu to get into the app's setting.  Inside the Settings, do the following:
    > Change Device Profile to: Samsung Galaxy S
    > Change Setup Method to: Netd (Master)
    > Enable WiFi Encryption: Check box to Enable
    > Change Pass Phrase to: any 13 digit password of your choice.
    > Change SSID to: any name of your choice.
    > Change Channel to: 4 (2427mhz)
    > Disable Update Check: Check box to Disable.
    > Click your phone's Back Arrow to Exit back to the app's Main Screen
    > Touch the WiFi button onscreen to start tethering.
    > Grant Super User Permissions
Note: If you get Error Code 67, Click Dismiss.  If you update, I don't know what will happen; my guess is it will disable the ability to tether.  But if I click Dismiss, my tethering is Enabled, and works perfectly.
Step 5 -- Grab Your Tablet & Start Tethering
    > Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Check the box to Enable WiFi > Click WiFi Settings > Under WiFi Networks, find the SSID for your tethering app that you entered in Step 4 above. > Click on the SSID of your tethering app > Enter the 13 digit Pass Phrase you created in Step 4 above and Click Connect.
That's it!  Congratulations -- your tablet should now be tethered to your cell phone!
Now that you're tethered to your cell phone, be smart, and DON'T download a ton of gigabytes.  Just be smart about it, and you should be fine.  Remember, tethering to your cell phone probably goes against the terms of service with your cell phone carrier, so DON'T abuse the privilege.
Now that you're the envy of all your friends, why not test your data speeds: SpeedTest App - FreeMy data speed test results with my Toshiba Thrive tablet tethered to my LG Marquee:
    Download:  855kbps   Upload:  302kbps
That's pretty great for a 3g no-contract cell phone with unlimited data.
    Happy tethering everyone!
    Go forth and Androidify!
    Hugs, Kaio

  • App store hide/unhide problems: (1) can't "unhide" (2) "hidden" apps don't remain hidden

I've searched hither and yon online for a way to “unhide” apps I’ve hidden in the App Store. The procedures I’ve been able to find, involve choosing “View Account”, logging in, and selecting an item called “Unhide Hidden Apps”. This would seem straightforward enough except that, I find nothing for “Unhide Hidden Apps”. I’ve tried on both my iPad and my iPhone, both running the latest iOS.
Then, to add to the frustration, this. I select an app in the App Store. I slide and select “Hide”. (Say I’m viewing the set “All”.) Then I select “Not on This iPad”. The supposedly “hidden” app is still visible. Okay, what the heck? I slide and select “Hide”. Then I select “All”. Guess what? The app is still visible. I select “Not on This iPad”. The app is still visible. Not fair. :-(

You are right. They do not all show up there - I'm thinking only those that are actually downloaded to the Mac maybe?
If you go to the Quick Links section in the iTunes Store, and click on Apps and All, you should see both the downloaded and the iCloud ones on that list. (make sure you have also click on "All" and not on "Not in My Library".
And if you hover over an app on that list, you will see a little "x" in the top left-hand corner. Clicking on that hides the app. You can hide both apps that are downloaded as well as those still in the cloud. However, it does not remove it from your device. If you did hide it in iTunes, and then also deleted it from your device, it would then be fully "hidden".
Does that make sense? (I still can't figure out how to do the Hide thing on my iPhone.... )

  • Show hidden apps in app store on my new iPad

Hi everyone. I'm new to apple products and bought the new iPad last week. I hid two of my apps when I was in the "purchased" tab in the app store on my iPad by mistake. I also clicked through the message that came up too quickly, not having realised what I'd done. Can anyone show me how to show my now hidden apps. I've tried to figure out what the instructions in the support pages say, but I can't find any of the menus that are referred to in the support articles. Appreciate it if you can make it as simple as possible as I am still getting the hang of this.
    Cheers and thx in advance!

Was it this page that you looked at : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919 ?
If so, then scroll to the bottom of, for example, the Featured tab in the App Store app, tap on your Id and select View Apple Id, type in your password, and then select the Hidden Purchases line - you should then get a acreen showing your hidden purchases which you can unhide

Im unable to find deteted apps in purchased section in App Store ..please help me in restoring the deleted app

Is the app still in your country's store (if it isn't then you won't be able to redownload it), you haven't changed countries since buying it (content is tied to the country as well as the account), and it isn't hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919 ?
If the app is no longer in your country's store then do you have a copy of it on your computer's iTunes library and/or on your backup of your downloads/library ?

  • I left my iPad on a plane - find iPhone app says offline

I left my iPad on a plane powered completely down. When I use the find iPhone app (which had always worked in the past) it lists the iPad, my iPhone, and my iPod. When I first open the app on my phone, it says my iPhone is "this device" and has a green dot. It says my iPod touch is "locating..." then eventually goes to "offline" (because I have it off). For the missing iPad, it never says "locating..." it only says "offline" immediately when I open the app. I had just updated to iOS 7.0.2. I have the four digit code on the iPad but is it possible that someone wiped it clean already and that's why is says offline without even trying to "locate" it?
Any help would be very appreciated.
I already filed a claim with the airport and the airline - I am just debating if I should erase it or wait and see if someone responds to my "lost mode" message and calls my cell.

You don't sound stupid to me at all.  Everybody has forgotten something of value or significance somewhere at some time or another.  It is no fun at all when it is something of this value and your chances of getting it back are so slim.
I would really encourage you to use a passcode from the beginning with the next device though - it really is the only true security you have for your material on a mobile device.  Anything you can do after the fact is never as good as having the device secured beforehand.
Also be sure to check with the airline in case you are lucky and it turns up in their lost and found (some airports and airlines actually have brick and mortar stores to sell all the stuff left behind and never claimed - there is a big one in Atlanta for example with everything from clothes to jewellery to golf clubs to cameras and laptops).
Also check your home owners or renters insurance policy to see if they cover such items while traveling (mine does, but the deductable is also $500 I think).

  • HT201272 Where can I find the app password saver by yonglin wang.  i wanted to restore my iphone and i had purchased this app and it is not anywhere in my purchases to reload.  Why is it not on my list of purchases?

Where can I find the app "password Saver" by yonglin wang?  while updating my iphone the app was dropped for some reason.  I went to reload from my purchased apps and it is not available.  The history shows my purchase but I can not find the app to reload.  I've lost some critical info and need to retreive if possible.  Any suggestions?

You tried what ? If the app is no longer available in the store (can you find it in the main part of the store ?) for re-downloading then you would need to have a copy of it somewhere e.g. on your computer's iTunes, on a backup of your downloads.

  • Some files in "DOCUMENTS" icon in dock won't open. Get msg saying You need a newer version of Pages to open this document." Have Pages 4.1 installed.  Same files will open ok from Finder, Pages App. Recently sync'd with ipad2 (Pages) after iOS5 installed.

Some files in "DOCUMENTS" icon in dock won't open. Get msg saying "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document." Already have Pages 4.1 installed.  Same files will open ok from Finder/Pages App./selected file. Prob not noted until recently after sync'd with ipad2 (Pages) when I installed iOS5. Anyone-- please?!

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

  • HT201493 How do I add pictures of my friends on find friends app??

In apple store, find friends app shows pictures of your friends added to contact.  I have tried and tried and can't seem to
    do it.  Any answers??

Use the contacts app. Select a contact for one of your friends and then tap on edit. Tap on the photo and select a photo from your photo albums to add to the contact. you can edit the photo by pinching and zooming. Tap Done when you are finished.
You do need to have a photo of each contact in your photos app. Once you set a photo to a contact the photo can be deleted from the Photos app.

  • Is there a way to link or create a widget that links back to the iTunes U app on your iPad from your iBook?

Is there a way to link or create a widget that links back to the iTunes U app on your iPad from your iBook?
I have already found the Apple Widget Builder (http://widgets.itunes.apple.com/builder/) and that works fine if you want to link to the "App Store", but I want to know if there is a way to "open an app" that is already installed on the iPad instead of double tapping the home button to switch between apps. (I know using the home button is very simple, but I am trying to find an even easier way to just "tap a widget" or "link" that will open iTunes U right up) I am only asking if this is possible for people who may have a hard time running an iPad at the beginning.
    I appreciate any help, thanks!

I appreciate your help, but I had already looked at LinkMaker and I thought that was my answer, but as far as I could tell that still only links to an app in the app store. Yes it will link to iTunes U in the app store and you can then hit Open, but that is too drawn out of a process. We would like to know a way to just open the app directly.
    Thank you!
