Find ipod with serial number

My son's iPod Touch was stolen, along with a bunch of other stuff. We've used the iCloud to try to locate it, but it hasn't been able to find it. It may just be because the battery is dead, but I assume also that it could have been factory reset which I would guess would disable it from the iCloud.
But I was able to get the serious number through applesupport.com. Is there anyway to track it using only the serial number, if it's been charged and reconnected by someone to iCloud or iTunes, or otherwise?

Unfortunately there is no way to track the device using the serial number. Using the Find my iPhone feature within iCloud you can set up a message with a number to call you if someone locates it and connects to a wi-fi network. Sorry to hear that the ipod was stolen.

my friend stole my ipod. but she wont up to it,anyway i could track it on my computer with the serial number? so i can prove its at her house.

No. The serial number does nothing at all to help you locate it.
IF you set up find my ipod on the ipod itself BEFORE it was stolen AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi AND the thief has not restored it, then you may be able to get an approximate street address from icloud.
Otherwise, there is no way to track it.

Any way to find iPod Touch serial number after it has been lost/stolen?

I'm pretty sure I still have the box somewhere but I'm away from home for the time being and lost my iPod Touch over the weekend. After my digging I just can't seem to figure out if I can trace purchase history or associated devices in itunes back to the serial number of the device. I know this is a longshot and I might just have to wait until I can visit home and tear up my room looking for that stupid box... but if anyone could help, it would really supplement the police report nicely. No, you can't trace it via the serial number. If you set up the Find My iPhone service prior to your iPhone going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors: the iPhone is turned on, connected to either the 3G or a WiFi network, or has not had the Find My iPhone service disabled or the iPhone been completely restored. Log into icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone section. If you did not set up Find My iPhone, check with your cell carrier. Some carriers offer their own tracking service, though you usually have to sign up when you still have the phone and have to pay for the service.
If your carrier does not offer such a service and you did not set up Find My iPhone, then there is no way to track the unit. Notify the police and your cell carrier, and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPhone (the iTunes Store, for instance).

You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

New computer trying to redownload program student edition cant find email with serial number

Here is the issue old computer broke so got it replaced. Now Im having issues locating the email with the serial number to redownload cs5 student edition. Is there a way to get a new one issued? how would I go about getting this working?

You should have an account with Adobe and in that account there should be a record of your programs and the serial numbers used to activate them.
The student edition should not be any different from any other, so you should just need to download the trial version of the software and then activate it using your serial number.

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.
