Find location of iPhone from Browser?

I'm looking for a setting that is accessible through the browser to identify the user's location (within a few miles) for a location based application. Is there some way to call a method from the browser that triangulates the person's position relative to cell towers?!?

There is none at this time. That said, on Wednesday launched an app (not yet supported on the iPhone) that triangulates your position while you are in Google Maps. Here is the link http://www.google.com/gmm/mylocation.html?hl=en

If you set up the Find My iPhone service prior to your iPhone going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPhone is turned on, connected to either the 3G or a WiFi network, or has not had the Find My iPhone service disabled or the iPhone been completely restored). If you set up Find My iPhone, log into iCloud.com from any computer with a current web browser and an Internet connection. If you did not set up Find My iPhone, check with your cell carrier. Some carriers offer their own tracking service, though you usually have to pay for it.
If your carrier does not offer such a service and you did not set up Find My iPhone, then there is no way to track the unit. Contact the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPhone (the iTunes Store, for instance).

Can't find photos on iPhone when browsing on computer

I manually backup all the photos on my iPhone 5s once every couple of months, but recently came across a problem.
-I'm running IOS 8.1.2
-I've historically used iCloud and Photostream to back up my pictures, and then I'd occasionally copy pictures to a backup hard drive by browsing/copying them via Explorer from my Windows 8.1 workstation.   I have not yet turned on the new "iCloud Photo Library" beta feature. I thought about it, but it immediately warned me about losing all pictures on my phone, and I wanted to back them up first.   And this led to the below scenario . . .
I tried backing up my photos to a hard drive for the first time in a couple of months today, but ran into a strange problem.   (Probably first time since upgrading to IOS 8)
I only have about 300 pictures on my phone.   When I plug my iPhone in via USB, I can browse the iPhone memory like a flash drive. I go into the DCIM folder, there are a bunch of subfolders that contain pictures.   There are a number of pictures on my iPhone that I don't see when browsing this directory. The are all more than a couple of months old.
I CAN see the "missing" pictures when browsing my phone via the Photos app. They're both in the Photos/Moments section and also within the Albums\iPhone from my Computer section.    I'm assuming these have been backed up via iCloud, but don't see any way that I can retrieve them so that I can backup manually.
I do have the iCloud control panel installed on the workstation. It is logged in successfully, and the photo stream and iCloud Photo Sharing options are all active.   The local iCloud directory (e:\iCloud) that I've set is empty though. No pictures reside there at all.   I also have a Windows 8.1 item on my "This PC" panel for "iCloud Photos". I'm not sure if that's using the same directory I just mentioned, but it's empty as well.   Finally, I went to the default Windows 8.1 "Pictures" directory as well.   Also empty.
Is anyone familiar with how to access pictures in iCloud and download them manually? I'm assuming that's what needs to be done.

I am having this issue too. Have you happened to find a solution?
I can transfer them via airdrop to the computer, but that takes a heck of a long time.

You need to log into your iCloud account online and go to the Find My iPhone section.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.

To remove the device, you need to sign in to me.com on a computer.
To remove your device from Find My iPhone:

You can't, not until it goes back online. You can try looking for it and/or calling your number to see if an honest person who found it would answer.

Find Friends Location on iPhone not working after reset

My grandson recently reset his iPhone 6 for reasons related to certain music not syncing properly with iTunes. As a result of the reset, his location is labeled "not available" in the Find Friends app when others are trying to find him. He can still see his friends locations. They just can't see him (his phone). Interestingly, in his Find My Friends app, under Me, it shows "location services off". But under Settings, Privacy, Location Services, it shows "On" and Find Friends app is showing "While Using". His iCloud account is also showing Share My Location as "On" From his iPhone ("This Device").
Any help as to what could be causing this would be most appreciated.

We were able to fix the issue by doing the following:
In Settings select Privacy, Location Services and scroll down to the bottom and select System Services. While everything was green (switched on), we turned Share My Location off and then back on. His location is now available to his friends (and parents). I have no idea why this worked to fix the issue, but it did.
