Find multiple files from list

Hello everyone,
I have googled and searched this forum for a solution to my problem and have had no luck. What I need to do is find a list of files all at once. I'm a photographer and my situation is that I will do a photo shoot and have 5k images that I submit to a photo editor. They will choose about 80-100 selects that I then need to process. The problem is that I can find no way to take the editors list of selects and just select those images and move those to a new folder without going through the list and copying each files one by one. Is there a search string I am missing (I tried, filename, filename and filename; filename but no luck) or a app anyone knows that could allow me to do this? Locating each file one by one is a time sink!

Well, I figured out a way to do it using a text editing program and the Terminal. You need a text program that will allow you to find and replace carriage returns with spaces (I use TexEdit Plus), then you use the mv command in Terminal. Thus, I had a list:
adamshot.tiff
adam-display.jspa.png
adam-me.jpg
badgeadam.icns
flicon.jpg
Replacing the carriage returns with a space I got this:
adamshot.tiff adam-display.jspa.png adam-me.jpg badgeadam.icns flicon.jpg
I created a new folder in the folder containing the images and called it "Moved" and then launched Terminal. I changed directory so that I was "in" the parent folder--just type cd and a space, then drag the parent folder into the Terminal and drop it. The command will look something like this:
Tiger:~ francine$ cd /Users/francine/Pictures/Travelin/1994/
Hit the return key. Now do the move command by typing mv followed by a space, then copy and paste the single line of the files list followed by a space, and then the name of the folder:
mv adamshot.tiff adam-display.jspa.png adam-me.jpg badgeadam.icns flicon.jpg Moved
Hit return again and everything in the list will be in the Moved folder. If this all seems way beyond what you want to try you might post your query in the Automator forum and see if anyone has an easier solution.

How do I retrieve multiple files from my trashcan?

I removed everything from my "finder" to my trashcan; I found that I had multiple duplicates in images, and I thought that was an easy way to get rid of them. But then my iPhoto started acting weird and when I contacted support, was told that I had to "put back" each file. There are roughly 17,000 images. I am overwhelmed to say the least. Suggestions? I tried highlighting several at a time, but that doesn't work.

How to store multiple files from SAp in to Application server?

Hi Guys,
 Can anybody tell me how to store multiple files from SAP into Application server.in my application i have to get the data from SAP tables BSEG , BKPF , BSAK and BSIK that to daily i have to do.
 Any Logic or Code for how to do is welcomed.
 plz help me urgently.

Hi,
directories creates basis. If you have task to store data in application server you already should have information into which folder you have to do it. If you don't have this information because it is just for example training for next task then you can use your personal folder into which you have access. To get list of all available folders please look at attached code and form get_directories (you get the list of folders you see in transaction AL11). But don't forget: If you are using open dataset you have to have rights to access application folder!

Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program

Hi All,
I have a issue related Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program.
Actual issue is as below.
In the selection screen of my program i will give Application Server Path as :
/PW/DATA/SAP/D1S/PP/DOWN/eppi0720*
Then the based on above input it should pick up all the files that are matching eppi0720* criteria.
Suppose if i am having 5 files with above scenario, i have to fetch all those 5 files at a time and place in my SAP Program.
All those 5 file's data should come into SAP at a time.
Can anybody tell me how can we solve above issue.
If any body has come across same issue please provide me with solution.

how would i go about taking multiple files from documents and make them into 1 master file? I want to put all documents associated with this project together for easier access.

From the finder window, click File, click new folder, you can drag all documents into that Folder making it the master folder. You can ajso drag folders into the Master folder, and have them as sub-folders if you wish to do that. Either way they will all be in one master folder.

Is there a way to email multiple files from pages

I want to send multiple files from pages, cover letter and resume, but when I select both files, the share icon goes dull and it can't be selected. Is there a work around for this?

Are you aware that someone without Pages cannot open the files? And that Pages will only run on OS X? Your best bet is do save the files as PDFs, then just drag the icons into your open email.

Can't copy multiple files from compact flash via USB3

Problems on MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch with Mavericks installed...
I am not able to copy multiple files from an attached Lexar USB3 Compact Flash reader (card is 128GB Lexar UDMA 7 compliant). Files are video files and when I try to copy more than one at a time the screen of my MacBook Pro flashes "off" and back "on" and the copy process ceases...
Any fixes for this???

When I go into Time Machine, I see earlier dates but can't see files in my User File. I have File Vault turned on and see my home folder as a sparsebundle. Do I neede to restore this in order to see files in my home folder. When I click on it to restore it gives me an estimated time of over 2 hours. Also tried to restore an Excel file I was working on when computer hung, so lost it without saving or naming it. Does it exist anyplace and can I restore it?

Thanks. I had pretty much figured out from other posts that I had better turn off File Vault for my home folder and use a disk utility sparse bundel for little information I wanted to secure. The information about File Vault 2 in Lion was new and useful though.

Can't select and print multiple files from Mac OS' Finder

I'm using Acrobat Reader on Mac OSX. I'm used to be able to select multiple files in Finder and then press Apple-P to print all of them in one batch. Reader blocks this, by opening the first of the documents and then display the Print Setup dialogue, instead of just printing the document according to the default settings.
When the dialogue is displayed, the reader is blocked from opening and printing the remaining documents, and just displays an error message that it couldn't open them. That is not a nice behaviour.

It is not possible to open another document while printing another document through Acrobat.
You might want to create an action in Acrobat to print all the pdf's in a particular folder.

Open and print multiple files from the Finder all at once.

I'm trying to research how to do this. In OS9 you used to be able to hi-lite multiple files (Word files for example) and just hit Command+P. This would automatically open all of the files AND print them.
I can't seem to do this in my OS X. Or can I? I can hi-lite and go to File/Print, but the computer is only opening but not printing.
Any suggestions??

I don't know how to both "open and print" multiple files in one step. The ⌘O combination of course will open multiple items. The items remain selected so switching back to the "Finder" and dragging multiple icons onto the icon for "/Applications" > "Utilities" > "Printer Setup Utility.app" seems to cause them all to be printed to the default printer.
Alternatively, a user's "~/Library/Printers" folder contains printer icons -- I'm not sure what they are exactly, but they represent the printers set up for that account. They function pretty much like the pre-OS X "Desktop Printer" icons so dragging and dropping multiple files onto them should cause them to be printed. It may even be possible to create aliases to them on the "Desktop" to recreate "Desktop Printer" functionality. But again, this won't open the files into their applications.
