Find my friends everywhere setting missing in ios7?

There used to be an everywhere selection in Find My Friends. Did it disappear in IOS 7 update? Also on iPad the list view only shows when you select it, while on iPhone both list and map ate displayed now. Is there settings for this on iPad?

The troubleshooting steps DO NOT HELP. This is a BUG. Background app refresh does not seem to work with IOS7 and Find Friends.
I went over the steps above and all my setting are correct including background refresh... The iOS7 update seems to have killed the ability to find friends unless the friend has the app open at the same time you have yours open... I can only see my friends who HAVE NOT updated to iOS7.
This is obviously a problem because most of people I know dont leave apps open in an effort to conserve battery life.
I sure hope Apple fixes this... this was prolly my favorite app and one of the reasons I talked many of my relitives into getting the iPhone.

The location of the device ( iphone, ipad) will only be updated if Find My Friends is running on that device. If FMF is completely quit, that device's location will not be updated. This is a terrible change from before !

this app has worked perfectly until the latest os7 update my boyfriend and i have it on each others phones he has the 5 i have the 4s
both phones are updated to os7 his has no issues and he can see my location fine but on my end it keeps saying location unavailable the app is on for both ends as well as location services and everything else like it always has been unless were beside each other and he presses on the app and it comes on then it will work and show on my phone other than that it wont work unless he is on the app too which is completely useless i even deleted the app deleted him as a follower reinstalled the app followed again still nothing starting to get ****** off as i used this app daily

Find my friends missing temporary events

Ever since I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 Find my Friends has been missing the "temporary event" feature. Did apple quietly retire this? I have uninstalled app and reinstalled and it's still not there.

For better or worse (and it is worse in my opinion) they have moved this feature...at least in part...to the Messages app.
While looking at a "conversation" in the Messages app, click "Details" in the upper righthand corner. Click "Share My Location" to share you location with members of the conversation. Your options are "Share for One Hour," "Share Until End of Day," or "Share Indefinitely."
No one else in my family has upgraded their phone to iOS 8. I am under the impression it only works with other people using iOS 8, but I haven't gotten it to work with anyone, yet.

Find My Friends Follow Requests

A friend has sent me multiple requests to follow me on find my friends and no matter what I do it won't allow me to accept the request sent via email nor does the request show up in this app. However, I am able to follow them. I have tried all the suggestions in the help function of the app and have reinstalled and uninstalled the app a few times. Can anyone help?

Check Settings > General > Restrictions. If restrictions are on, it could be that either Find My Friends is set to disallow changes, or location services are restricted.

Find my Friends and Cellular connection iPhine 4 iOS7

I have an iPhone 4 with iOS7 installed and after installing I see that find my friends app is not working and looking into it, I saw that the app was not listed under 'Use cellular data for'. It works when it is within wi-fi range but not when using cellular data. I could not find any setting to include this app to use cellular data. Any help would be appreciated.

Fortunately I found the solution to my problem. I signed into iTunes with my wife's Id and downloaded Find my friends and find my phone without her phone connected. Next I Went to the App Store on her phone and went to updates/purchases. Find my friends and Find my phone were both there waiting to be downloaded via the cloud. When I chose each one it gave me the option to download a compatible version because I did not have iOS 8. It proceeded to install older versions on my phone and they work perfectly!

Sharing an Apple ID is never recommended for these reasons.
They can create their own: http://appleid.apple.com and you can add them at the addresses they use for their ID.
Sharing an Apple ID is not recommended because all of your data gets merged and when it gets deleted from one device, it deletes from them all, such as Contacts.

Dear Dan,
It was from InDesign that I was creating the shared pdfs. I was one of two Mac drivers in a corporate sea of Win users and had to make the change I mentioned in order for the Win users to see my pdfs for review. The difference from what you appear to be doing was that were all on an MS Exchange Server so the files were shared over the company's Exchange Server e-mail system. However, some of these files occasionally went to outside users via regular e-mail and those people had no issues either.
So what I did was tested and worked for years.
You might look at the Adobe forums or Knowledge Base to see if that is a reported issue with newer version of CS. I was on CS2 when I was doing this, and the other Mac driver was on CS3 but had no problems either.
Some Win users I've talked to find a problem opening some pdfs (not mine) in general and found they had to open Reader first and them open the file from Reader's File menu. That most often happened if the client was using an outdated version of Reader.

Does Find My Friends notify friend when you set up a geofence alert on them?

Your questions are asking whether the person being located is being NOTIFIED. The answer depends on your definition what a notification is, but the short answer is NO.
The device being located does not display any notifications: banner, alert, badge or otherwise.
The device does not receive a text or iMessage alert.
When an app is using Location Services, a solid location services icon is diplayed next to the time at the top. This includes Find My Friends' attempts to provide the device's location to the service.

*Solid location services icon is the small arrow icon. This is different from the outline of the arrow meaning an app will be triggered when a location or 'geofence' is entered or exited.

Find my friends app is not compatible with ios7. Anyone else have this problem?

I noticed on one of my iPhones that it asked me if it was OK to share my location when I first ran it after getting a new iPhone. I said yes and my wife could find me. But, on her iPhone, it never asked if it was OK to share. I deleted the entire app and readded it back on her phone. After signing in she was then asked if it was OK to share her location and I was still listed as a friend (we didn't have to re-invite each other).

Can't Remove Old Device in iOS7 'Find My Friends'

Since upgrading my phone (to a 5S), I've discovered that 'Find My Friends' didn't automatically delete the old device (sold back to Apple) from its list. And the swipe-to-remove trick isn't working: all swiping the name of the old device does is select the old device. Is anyone else experiencing this? Am I doing something wrong?

I've reinstalled it. I've kept it running in the background etc
Not liking the new update at all. But would like up know how to fix the notify function on this app

I finally got this to work. Here's my procedure (and it's not ideal).
On all phones, background run must be ON for FMF.
On my phone:
Delete app
Reboot phone
On my wife's phone (yeah, this is why it's not ideal):
Delete app
Reboot phone
Reinstall app on both phones
Sign in on both.
Setup geofence via Notify Me when (wife) leaves home on my phone
Setup geofence via Notify Me when (husband) leaves home on her phone
Et voila.
Notifications started working again.
So, it's not ideal because it requires your target to delete, reboot and reinstall/signin for this fix to work. That said, if you're using it to track your kids when they're out on dates or whatever, you should have access to use this workaround.

Can't download Find My Friends on devices running iOS 6 or 7

I can no longer download Find My Friends on my kids iPhone 4(iOS 7) and 3gs(iOS 6) as the app store now says it is only for iOS 8 and up.
I used to have one main iCloud account that I used on all my families devices to easily track them. We have had 3 iPhones stolen so it was an issue to be able to locate them quickly and easily. Now that I have set up a family, the main iCloud account on each device is now the individual family members iCloud account. I figured Find My Friends would do for tracking lost and stolen devices, but I can not download the app onto the iPhone 4 and 3gs.
Am I missing something? I have Find My iPhone turned on both devices. The family member shows up in my list of family members on my iPhone 4s running iOS 8 in Find My Friends, but their location is not available. So I am assuming I have to share their location from Find My Friends on their device. I have not tried logging in as them from my device and sharing their location then logging back into my account, but quite frankly I don't have the time to mess with it. Which is why I have an iPhone in the first place...

I have the same issue. I restored an iPhone 4 for my 16 year old niece. Only stipulation was she use Find My Friends. While I was getting the apps for the phone I was unable to download one of the most important features. It would be great if they allowed 2 versions or incorporated support for iOS 7.1.2. I'm sure I'm not the only one who decided to give up the $200 trade in offers to keep a perfectly good phone (looks new still from case use) in the family.

Find My Friends - Multiple Notifications Not Working (Only One)

When I setup notifications in my Find My Friends, it appears that only the most recent notification I've setup works. For example:
I've setup two notifications:
-Notify Person-B when I leave Home, Every time
-Notify Person-B when I arrive Home, Every time
In this situation only the notification for Arriving is working, since it was the most recent created. If I delete the notifications and create the arrival first and departure last, then only the departure works.
I'm hoping that I'm missing something here because this is a major flaw. We want to setup multiple notifications, for example when I arrive and then leave my work, school, etc. If you can only have one notification per person its borderline useless...

I've tried setting it to both; standard results in dots appearing over a blank background. Setting it to hybrid shows them on the satellite image, but with no street signs. Basically, for some reason, nothing from the map will display.
