Find My iPhone - Credentials Problem

It seems as though my Apple ID and Password are not being saved in the Find My iPhone app. Every so often I get a message saying my credentials are invalid. If I visit the MobileMe account in Settings my credentials are there and valid. However when I open Find My iPhone the Apple ID and Password field are blanked out to defaults like I had never set it up. If I go in and out after putting them in again, they're saved and fine. However every so often I get the message and the credentials are cleared again. I have tried rebooting the iPhone to no success.
This will be a huge problem if I actually lose my iPhone and need to locate it.

  • Find My iPhone App Problem

Hello. I'm kept getting wrong locations of my iPhone whenever I tried to
locate it with Find My iPhone app. Sometimes the reading is off from 4
to 10 blocks away from the actual iPhone's location. Sometimes, my phone
is displayed in wrong sections of the city. Is it caused by GPS
signal problems or is there any other factor that may prevent me from
    knowing the exact location?

This issue is something both Apple and phone carriers need to discuss and improve in a cooperative way. There had been 3G GPS issues (inaccurate display of a phone's location) and my Verizon 3G had significantly slow network connections when I tried to locate my iPhone 4s and usually the dot's location was several blocks or kilometers off. I followed other people's advice by turning on the Wi-Fi for more accurate results, but it really didn't help in my experience. One thing I can at least tell you is that Google Maps is currently more reliable. I have my Galaxy S4 and its Google Maps gave me less frustrating moments whenever I tried to locate myself using 4G LTE GPS. Our technology is always full of flaws but I'm pretty sure Apple is still working for its own advanced map features/ functions.

  • Find my iPhone - no problem to disable

Why can I disable Find my iPhone in my iPhone without entering a password?
Then what is the point ..?

I agree. I have been using mobile me for 2 years now and it is great. I love the find me feature and I do have a password lock on my phone. Anyone that doesn't put a lock on their phone is an idiot for not doing it because if it does get lost then they have access to all your data anyways. The only problem I have had since they made it free is using the app on my phone to find my sons iphone 3GS. I always have to put in both my id and password when before the id was always there. Have no problem putting in the password but now it is an email address vs just the mobile me id now.

  • "find my Iphone" insurance problem

how can I disconnect "find my Iphone" on my mobile?
the problem is that my display is broken and I can't use it.
I tried it over my computer (icloud.com) and it says that it started to delete the feature but I have to confirm it on my Iphone, which I can't do, because I can't see a thing.
    My question is:
Is it enough to disconnect it over the Icloud or do I have to do something over my Iphone directly?
I need to disconnect it to get my Iphone repaired.
I am sorry for my English and hope somebody can help me!!!!!!

  • HT204053 I have another Apple ID from when I originally set up this iPod, now I can't reset it as I am also set up with Find My iPhone which may have been doen by mistake I have been in contact with Apple itself and they can't fix the problem so far

i have originally forgotten my pass code for a new iPod Touch, now I have with Apple's help reset it to factory, my issue is due to the change in my Apple ID , the iPod will not  let me set it up under the new Id or the old one.I also have been set up with find my iPhone and I don't remember if I did this or not, could have been the grand children trying to help out. Any ideas or suggestions, I haven't even used this yet and I have owned it for 6months already. Really am disappointed that the process is so difficult to navigate.

I have also noticed the same "problem".  I do not fully understand the impact of using the same ID on multiple computers and devices if I want to keep them all in sync.

    Hey tyjox,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you need to deactivate Find My iPhone on a device that does not work. You will need to work with the family member of the account the iPhone is registered with. I would recommend that you use this article to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
iCloud: Remove your device from Find My iPhone
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2702
Remove an iOS device you no longer have
If you no longer have the iOS device because you gave it away or sold it, you need to remotely erase it before you can remove it.
Sign in to icloud.com/#find with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud). If you’re using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window, then click Find My iPhone.
Click All Devices, then select the device.
Click Erase [device], then enter your Apple ID password. Because the device isn’t lost, don’t enter a phone number or message. If the device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it’s online. You’ll receive an email when the device is erased.
When the device is erased, click Remove from Account. All your content is erased and someone else can now activate the device.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,

  • ITunes has a problem finding my iPhone on wifi after iOS 6 update

Since updating to iOS 6 on Thursday, I've been having problems with iTunes not finding my iPhone on wifi. I'm not having this problem with my iPad, which is first gen so no iOS update. Sometimes the phone will show up on the list when I start iTunes, most of the time it won't. I am also getting repeated pop-ups from Windows telling me that "ATH.exe has stopped working". The pop up shows up even after I click the button for "Close Program". I've tried stopping and starting the Apple Mobile Device Service. This led to the phone showing up on the list but the pop up frequency has actually now increased (not that that's necessarily related).
I do not have problems with the phone showing up in the list or syncing the phone when it's physically connected - it works exactly the way it's supposed to if it's plugged in. And I can deal with having to plug it in to sync if I have to but these constant popups are starting to drive me batty and I don't want to have to deal with them until the new iTunes comes out next month (assuming the new version will fix whatever the problem is anyway).
I am running Windows Vista 32-bit, iTunes 10.7.0.21, iPhone 3GS.

I've got the 4S and I see you have the 3GS;  this isn't a device issue evidently since your post is the first that I see is NOT a newer device.  I'm in total agreement on your post as well - there is absolutely no rhyme nor reason for all this and the pop-up is to the point of syncing via the cable is worth NOT having this "ATH.exe" error.
Further I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything, as per all the support forums, yet to sync via WiFi, I have to stop and start the Apple Device Service countless times.  As I stated earlier, by the time I start/restart the services, it's just easier to throw it on the cable and call it a day....
One would think, by now, that Apple would be on this however I hve yet to see an Apple post as to a resolution.  I suppose we will just go batty together!!!  If I hear or find anything, I'll hunt down this post and post the info I've found.  Thank you for reporting this so Apple realizes we're not losing our minds nor is it a Vista/Windows issue. iTunes10.7.0.21 is being used & this only started after the iOS 6 update... GRRR!!!!

  • How can I fix the problem when I can't completely erase find my iphone from my mac? It says "pending erasa find my iphone until your iphone connect to the internet". My iphone already connected to the internet and it still doesn't work. Anyone have idea?

Actually I want to restore my iphone from my mac but I can't because it says "go to icloud settings on your iphone and turn off find my iphone before restore your iphone". Then, I go to icloud.com and erase find my iphone. But I still can't restore my iphone because it says pending to erase your iphone until your iphone connected to the internet. My iphone already connected to the internet and it still says pending. Please help me to fix this problem because I need to restore my iphone.

    Hello rxander21,
Force your iPhone into recovery-mode and then you can use iTunes to restore it.

  • Problem with "Remove find my iphone"

Somone stole my iphone 4s and I used the remote procedure "find my iphone" but the device appeared offline. In any case, if it were connected to the internet I would come back a signal. The problem is that then I accidentally clicked "remove find my iphone" and therefore there aren't any more device, so I think that the thieves could use the device with no problem. There is no way to undo this?
