Find my iPhone has changed recently. Now how do I centre it?
I use "Find my iPhone" to track where my wife is, which can be very useful for both of us. There now seems to be no way of centering the position of the 'phone, once the map has been moved slightly. If the 'phone has move a lot since I last looked at its location it could be quite hard to find out where it is.
Is the a way of centering it on the map?
Yes, I could do that, but it's a bit laborious. Until very recently there was an emblem in the corner of the screen on which one could click and this would centre the 'phone immediately, but for some reason it has been removed.

I bought a new laptop with Windows 7. My computer name in Windows has changed, and now, my Ipad can't find Itunes, and Itunes can't find my Ipad. [email protected]
Ok, if reinstalling iTunes as suggested above does not resolve the issue of iTunes recognising the iPad then try this -
Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, make sure your lead /connections are no faulty.
Fourthly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.

As for making your new laptop your 'home computer' follow these instructions -
1. Without connecting your iPad to your computer -
A) Install iTunes / make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed.
B) Go to the Store tab and click on "Authorise This Computer".
C) Go to Edit, click on Preferences [iTunes and Preferences on Macs] and click on Devices. Put a check mark in the box next to "Prevent iPods/iPhones/iPads from syncing automatically". Click OK and close iTunes.
2. Connect your iPad to your computer -
A) Start iTunes (it will not start automatically because of the action at 1(C) above).
B) Right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select "Transfer purchases".
C) When the transfer has completed, right click on your iPad again and select "Backup".
D) When the backup has completed, left click on your iPad, click on the Apps tab, and put a check mark in the box next to "Sync Apps", and then click on "Apply" (bottom right).
E) Unless you want to always do a manual sync (as I do), go back to Edit, Preferences [iTunes and Preferences on Macs] and uncheck the box next to "Prevent your iPod.....".
F) Finally, on your iPad, check that everything is syncing properly. If not, go back to iTunes and check all settings.
NB You should not lose any apps. However, any 'purchased' missing apps can be downloaded again FOC. As with updates, this must be done with the Apple ID under which they were originally 'purchased'.

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them. -
Since I upgraded to IOS8, iphone has changed the way it calls via car bluetooth. Before (IOS8) once I hit 'call' it was transfer to car speakers and i would hear dial tone until answer. Now, call will only transfer to speakers once call is answered. This is very incovenient as I never know if my call is going through, and sometimes when call isn't answered immediately I have to look at my phone to cancel the call. Is there a new setting I am missing?
Sometimes you turn off your Bluetooth and then back on and it doesn't reconnect with your phone unless you go into the menu. Either way doesn't help much if someone calls you while you're driving and you realize your iPhone is stuck on headphone input.

Contacts and other infomration in the backup file are in a special file format. You would not be able to access them with standard programs. Also, contacts are not backed up that well, you should sync them to a supported application on the computer, such as Address Book, Windows Contacts, Outlook. have you restarted the iPhone? if not, press and hold both the sleep and home button until screen goes black and apple logo come up, then release them. Let me know if that helped.

You can't do anything if Find My Phone was not enabled.

I don't know what triggered the problem. I was trying to find my iphone in my Imac today with bad results. It was working fine until yesterday, but today it didn't. (last night I even forgot to turn off the computer, so I didn´t have to turn it on this morning).
I logged into iCloud with my apple id and every time I click Find My Iphone I get a message saying "Find My iPhone has stopped responding." in an error reporting box.
I checked with my Ipad and it worked fine, and I also checked on the web http://www.apple.com/es/support/systemstatus/
I tried with Safari and with Firefox, with same results.
I tried with my son's apple id too and with my brother's too, with the same bad results.
I checked for Safari Extensions, but I don´t have any.
I checked for software updates, but the Imac is ok.
I restarted my Imac a couple of times, too.
The message says:
"Find My iPhone has stopped responding.
An error has prevented this application from working properly."
I did send to Apple the error, which is the following:

Why did Find my Iphone has stop responding?
My Iphone 6, just purchased a week ago was lost or stolen a few days ago. As soon as I was able to get to a computer to log onto the cloud to activate lock and set in lost mode, I received the error message:
Find my Iphone has stopped responding. An error has prevented this application from working properly
I continued to attempt the application which told me my device was offline and lost status is pending next connection to being online again. Activation is locked and it still says I am signed in and running the device. The screen had been password locked. Soon after discovering it was gone, I changed my Apple password. I have not cleaned the device yet because I'm afraid my photos may have not been backed up to the cloud and am hopeful it will turn up.
My question is about the error message: why would this happen, and does this message make all other information I see on the cloud inaccurate? (such as the device being offline, me still signed into it, etc).

I have just done a reset on my ipad. In the settings "find my ipad " is enabled. I received an email saying "Find My iPhone has been disabled on Richard's iPad." I went back into settings and confirmed that find my iphone is enabled. How do I correct this?
If you login to your account on http://www.icloud.com is the iPad listed in the Find My iPhone part of your account ? If not then try toggling it 'off' and back 'on' on your iPad
