Find my iPhone is locating most of my devices in a different state and I'm holdings them in my hand...Why?
IIn the past the find my iPhone has never failed. It has always been within feet of locating my devices. One day I couldn't locate my phone so I pulled up the app and the map showed my phone was where I was, at home, but my iPad-which was in my hand, was in another state. I played a sound thinking that's odd , and the sound played in my hand so I'm thinking no big deal. (Found my phone too, btw.) Anyway, days later, just for the heck of it I went on the app again to look and see if turning my iPad off and restarting made it correct itself and now my iPad and iphone are both showing at the same location. What is the deal? It's almost like someone has hijacked my Apple ID! Watching my account very closely! HELP!!
Any thoughts on this , I'm worried that someone has cloned my device Id and is phishing , or would there be just a major glitch in the GPS ? I have turned off the location app and turned it back on to see if it was a glitch still comes up to the same location about 100 miles way to a place I have never been. Help !

Can find my iPhone be turned on remotely? I had it turned off, and twice in the last month I've found that it is turned on and someone was tracking my location. I'm a little freaked out! Is there any way that someone could be turning "find my iPhone" on remotely? I was under the assumption that the only way to turn the service on was from my phone itself.. Find my phone can only be enabled from the device itself. -
Find my iphone says location service disabled but there is a green dot next to it. What does that mean?
it means the phone is online but the locational services have been disabled.
if you are trying find my iPhone then go to:
settings>locational services>find my iphone>on
find my iphone is the last option in locational services. -

Rex, if you have the "Find my iPhone" app installed on your phone, you can use it to locate any other iOS device that has "Find my iPhone" enabled on it, as long as you have the AppleID and password of the account for the device you want to locate. -
I signed into icloud to find my iphone. icloud tried to upload my calendar, froze my desktop calendar and then erased it when I unchecked the box. I use time machine. Can I restore my desktop calendar and how do I keep everything but my phone locator and mail off? I do not want to sync my desktop with icloud except for mail.

The only way is to login to iCloud with your computer browser and wipe the iPhone.
If you can't then you have a brick, Apple won't help and AL cannot be bypass.

I used find my Iphone to located my ipad in the house. I clicked the sound request. Now that i have found it it seems to be locked. it will not let me tap the Ok button under find my Ipad alert. It seems locked. Any suggestions?
just playing the sound does not lock the iPad.

hey guys, iv recently changed over from the 4 to the 5 and i have lost my 5. Luckily a few days ago i downloaded find my iPhone but when i log in it tracks my old phone and not the new one. I have logged in so i dont know why it wont connect. I'm really upset about lossing it, if anyone one knows how to fix the problem or another way of tracking my phone that would be great.
The iphone 5 can only be located if connected to a data or mobile network. If in Airplane mode or switched off, it can't be found.

Try these two ways to fix the iPhone (in order). If neither works, you would have to take it to the store.
1. Reset the iPhone. Hold the on/off and home buttons togehter for about 10 seconds. If it works, you'll get the Apple logo and then something good should happen.
2. Try recovery mode as described here:

Hi all, im from dubai. someone stolen my iphone5. i was trying to erase my data via find my iphone. in the end there was a notification that remove. i have click remove. then it never shows my device in find my iphone. how can i see my device in my pc...?
Here's an interesting bit: iTunes will let me restore my iPod touch from backup: it's still running iOS 4.3.3. I figured as much... there's backups showing in the Preferences -> Devices list for both devices (and even my old, long gone iPod touch 2G), but my iPhone (on iOS5) isn't giving me any such option. I remember I had to downgrade before to get the backup restored (something went haywire in the setup assistant, and I couldn't restore a backup from iTunes there)... If it was possible to go to iOS 5.0 rather than 5.0.1 I would just do the same thing again, but iOS 5.0.1 isn't an option. I attached a screenshot. Hopefully Apple can get this nonsense sorted out; I think iOS 5 might be the root of this, somehow.

Please help me. I am stuck on Find My iPhone. It won't let me press the next button and continue. I can go back to iCloud Backup and forward to Find My iPhone, but cannot continue, whether I choose Use or Don't Use.

I have iPhoto, iOS, etc. all up to date.... however my iPad, iPhone, and Mac PhotoStreams all contain different pictures and aren't the same. Any ideas why? I'd rather not reset the whole thing if I don't have too.
OK, restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more is corrupt. To restart in Safe Mode when you hear the start up tone hold down the Shift Key until you see a progress bar. Let it fully boot then restart normally and test.
Also I am assuming you have checked Finder - Preferences - General and see what boxes are checked in "Show these items on desktop." You can also mount an item in Disk Utility, simply highlight it and then look in the File menu for Mount..... -

I'm trying to sync music and ringtones into my iphone, but itunes says my phone is using a different library and i have to deleate it but i dont to do that, how can i still sync my new stuff?
