Find My iPhone - Mutiple Devices

I have one Apple ID. I have an iPhone, an iPad, and iPod, and my daughters have an iPhone and iPod.
Before the Find my iPhone app was free I had to sign my daughters up for a me.com account along with me so we could all use the find my iphone service. Now that the use is free I have a question.
Currently, I have my iPhone and iPad set up to use the same me.com account and my daughters each have their own me.com accounts. I associated each of the me.com accounts with their respsctive devices. When I enter the app I have to sign in and can only see the devices associated with the particular account. Is there an easy way to configure the Find My iPhone app so I can see all of the devices in my family from one account? Since my daughters use their me.com for email also I do not want to remove them. Can I dis-associate their primary me.com account from the Find My iPhone app and create another MobileMe account within the iPhone and iPod for Find My iPhone use only?
I hope that makes some sense. Maybe I don't understand how the new Find My iPhone app works in conjuction with the older MobileMe portion of Find My iPhone????
Thanks in advance for any help.

You cannot use the free Find my iPhone in conjunction with a paid MobileMe account on a device. The paid MobileMe account provides the service. Also, the free Find my iPhone only works on the iPhone 4, the latest iPod touch, as well as iPads.
There is no way to look at all the devices at once in your family within the Find my iPhone app.

I'd like to know if it possible for find my iPhone show the result as 'No device' even though i'm sure that i have allow iCloud n location service?

Your post isn't very clear.  If you are using Find My iPhone to search for a device and the device list says something like "No device", this means there are no devices that have the Find my iPhone service turned on.  Is this what you mean?

  • Is there any way to block the shutdown of the device is protected by password? This function would help in case of theft with the issue of the find my iphone app.

    Device experiences issues, locks up.
I need to do a reset.
How would I do that with a pass code lock in place?
    Wait until the battery dies?
Apple's changes in iOS 7 are smarter.
"Losing your iOS device feels lousy. Thankfully, Find My iPhone can help you get it back. But if it looks like that’s not going to happen, new security features in iOS 7 make it harder for anyone who’s not you to use or sell your device. Now turning off Find My iPhone or erasing your device requires your Apple ID and password. Find My iPhone can also continue to display a custom message, even after your device is erased. And your Apple ID and password are required before anyone can reactivate it. Which means your device is still your device. No matter where it is."

  • TS4006 I lost my iPad and it's not showing up on the devices list of the Find my iPhone App

I lost my iPad and now it's not showing up on the Find my iPhone App devices list.  I just have my iPhone and my iPad on it.  I know that the app is enabled on my iPad b/c I have tested it from my iPad in the past.  Any ideas why it's not showing up on the devices list?  And how can I get it back on my device list so I can find it?

Is the app compatible with the iOS on the phone? Do you have automatic downloads enabled on the phone?

  • TS3376 itunes device name is different to same device name on find my iphone

I have a device on itunes which is named correctly. But when I look it up on "Find My Iphone" the device has a different name.To make matters more confusing it has the same name as another device owned by my daughter. How do I get the device name on "Find My Iphone" to match the device name on itunes?
    Many thanks.

Check Settings>General>About>Name on your phone.  That is the name that should be identified in Find My iPhone when you sign into your account on icloud.com.  If it's wrong, try turn off Find My iPhone on your device, then turn it back on after a few seconds.

  • How can i activate find my iphone

Hi, good morning now i facing a problem about how to activate ( find my iphone ) apps ?

To activate Find my iPhone, the device has to turned on AND in your possession. You can't do it after the device has already been stolen or turned off.
That would be like locking your front door after theives have already entered your home.

  • I made my own apple id because my family was getting my texts from other people. I want to add my device to my dads find my iphone app on his icloud but can't figure out how, without having to log in to his apple id on my phone. how do i add my device?

I made my own Apple ID because when I was logged into my dad's my family was receiving my texts from other people. I want to add my device to my dad's "find my iphone" app but without signing into his Apple ID on my phone because that was causing them to get my texts. I was told by Apple I could add my device to his by signing into icloud.com but there is no option that I can find to add my device. And I don't want to log back in to his.. Any ideas???

Also when I apply the safety copy it only imports the app the phones have had in common, so none of the apps that only the iPhone 4 had doesn't come in, only the ones I and the iPhone 4 has had in common. So you say the only way I can use the Apple ID to download on the old iPhone 4 is if I delete the apps that are in the phone and then download them again? How will that change the ID to download/update from. Won't it still have mine to update/download from?

  • Can family members added as part of the Family Share feature of iOS 8 really erase other family members devices with the Find My iPhone feature?

I initiated a Chat session with Apple Support to see if this was really possible.  The answer I got was that it DID seem possible at this time.  If this is true, then Apple may want to look at giving the sharing device the option to disallow other family members from erasing that device remotely (or playing sound, entering lost mode).
I would be comfortable allowing my wife to lock my iphone or erase it remotely if needed, but I would not want any of my kids to have that ability.
Can somebody else confirm this could be done?
My case # with Apple is: 668372718

    Good day,
    Ryan

Just tested this.  You have to enter the Apple ID Password for the device you are trying to remote erase.  You CAN put the device in lost mode without the password, but you cannot initiate a remote wipe without the password for the device.

  • I noticed that Find My iPhone on iCloud hasn't worked since iOS 8 came out. My device uses iOS 7. My question is: do I need to upgrade my device? If not, what should I do? I do not wish to upgrade my device.

I noticed that Find My iPhone on iCloud hasn't worked since iOS 8 came out. Whenever I try to use it, it always says "All Devices Offline." This is regardless of whether I am in a good Wi-Fi zone or not.  I like to use Find My iPhone to remotely track my battery charging status whenever my phone is charging in a different room. That's been really handy, which is why I really need to get this fixed. No matter what computer I use, the problem is always the same.
My device uses iOS 7. My question is: do I need to upgrade my device? If not, what should I do? I do not wish to upgrade my device, especially considering the bad things I've heard about iOS 8.
    Feedback would be welcome ASAP.

You don't need to update to iOS 8 to use Find My iPhone.  If you haven't already tried, go to Settings>iCloud>Find My iPhone and turn it off, then reset your phone (hold the sleep/wake and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release).  After it restarts, turn Find My iPhone back on and see if it works properly now.

No, but you can log into any of their accounts on your computer at iCloud.com and see their devices.

  • How many devices can be under one Apple ID for using find my iPhone?

I work for a school and we were told by an Apple representative that Find My iPhone works for only 10 devices under each Apple ID. Is this true? If I have 30 iPads under 1 apple ID will only 10 of them show up under "Devices" on iCloud? Will we only be able to locate 10 of them?

Documentation related to the iTunes store indicates that a maximum of 10 devices can be associated with a single ID (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627).  I'm not sure, however, if that applies to iCloud or not.  If it does, you could always assign a different Apple ID and associated iCloud account to each group of 10.  You could still track them all; you would just have to sign into each iCloud account separately to track the devices associated with that ID.  Apple may also have other enterprise solutions that would be available to your situation.  You should contact Apple directly to inquire about this.
