Find my iPhone (PLEASE!)
I just lost my iPhone 3GS. I'm sure I turned on finding...
I lost it in a location where there is no service (US navy ship). Once OFF the ship or in certain parts it will connect. Right now, when I use .me.com to find it it says it cannot.
My question is... if I send a tone command with message, will it send it when it finds it? Or must I locate it .me.com first and THEN send the command?
Also lock and wipe... if I wipe it, will it sync back to iTunes when I connect it again, or will it brick. What are my best options?

Good suggestion. Wasn't in Airplane mode. I'll check with them tomorrow. Those guys tend to be a little anal about non-cleared network devices on their network. Staying at a hotel before having to board ship. Checking with hotel's internet on my lappy. Fell off my belt while lugging crap up those navy ladders. Could have fallen a few feet or a few ladders!! Hopefully someone picked it up and it is sitting in the Master at Arms room right now. Retraced steps a few times, but didn't got farther down.

You do not need wifi to erase the content of your phone. Go into Settings>iCloud>Find My iPhone>OFF.

As everyone else is I'd like to know why the **** apple would quietly put an email notification in the fine my phone app....that's the dumbest idea implemented in a while that should be immediately changed for everyone's sake that's raising a child at the least.

You can only locate, lock or erase your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely. -

You did not ruin the phone, you will need a sim card to activate the phone and then connect the phone to itunes and do a restore from back up.

I have forget my 4 digit passcode for my ipad 3 and exhausted all the attempts, Now the screen shows "ipad is disabled connect to itunes" How can I unlock my ipad now. Also I have not put "Find my iphone" in icloud as well. Please guide me to unlock it.
Also when I am trying to connect ipad to my windows PC, it shows, your software is up to date and later starts restoring while updating again. Then automatically it stops to update halfway and I have to repeat the process again and again, still in vain.

FaceTime and iMessages have stopped working since i updated to 7.0.3, saying there is a network error and to try again later. Have tried reinstalling Find my iPhone to see if it works. It doesn't for me. The message says "FaceTime (iMessage) Activation: Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again". My network is perfectly alright as I keep buying on the App Store. can u please help out???
