Find my iphone, stop ringing?

Hi, could anybody tell me please how to stop the ringing on my iphone? I tried the 'finding my iphone' from my ipad. It worked well, found my phone, then the phone started ringing and i could not stop the ringing from my ipad. I had to switch off the phone. So if it was a real event how could i make sure the phone stops ringing once i found it's location?

It's her phone, and no, her boyfriend cannot track it unless he knows her Apple ID & password.

  • Find my iPhone stopped working on 4.3.3

It seems in the recent months a 3GS of mine which is kept at 4.3.3 has stopped appearing on the Find My iPhone apps.
It has the current log in setup and appears to be enabled, but it just does not show up anymore.
Has anyone else had this problem too?
(Before anyone even suggests, i will NOT upgrade that phone, i need at least one device on an older firmware version since Apple doesnt allow developers to go back and forth between versions to test applications)

Find My iPhone is only supported in a Primary iCloud account.  Accounts set up in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud are secondary accounts that don't support this feature.
I really don't see how this ever worked.  It is my understanding that all access to iCloud services require iOS 5 or higher, and that legacy access to former MobileMe services using iOS 4 were terminated when iCloud officially launched.
But if you want to try to troubleshoot this anyway, there are some things you can try in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4006.

  • Find my iphone stopped working after a trip to asia

My daughter took her Verizon iPhone 4 to asia for a month.  When she came back iCloud could not find her phone anymore. Location Services are on and iCloud is on.  The phone can display its own location. Running iOS 5.x.

Fixed: went to Settings/iCloud, used Delete Account, turned phone off and on, Settings/iCloud, re-entered account info. Phone now found by Find My iPhone.
Additional details: when it wasn't working it always said "Offline".
    Phone is currently running 5.1.1.

  • Find My Iphone stopped working on 2nd Gen IPOD

Okay..until recently i was able to track my Ipod 2nd Gen on "find my iphone"..  I have I cloud set up on my macbook, Iphone 4, Ipod 3rd gen and Ipad 2 with no issues. I have 2 Ipods that are both 2nd gen that used to show up but now one doesn't even show up and the other can't be located.
I have tried various things to try and fix it.
    I have reset them IPODs
I have deleted the apps and reinstalled them
I have removed the info from my mobile me under the mail and calender area and reentered it to try and reactivate it.
Location services are on..I even turned them off and on again hoping that might trigger something.
I have tried everything I could think of and read and nothing works..
All software on the devices are up to date..I am at a complete loss at what is going on.. I have tried to locate them on my Iphone, IPad and Macbook and they don't show at all. Any idea would be appreciated.
    Thanks

when they dumped mobile me.  i just figured it out today.  why can't we just log in with our apple ids vs. mobile me. ridiculous.

  • Find my iPhone stopped working when I restored to factory settings

I have an iPhone4. I set up my find my iphone account. Everything was working perfectly.
Then, one day I restored to factory settings and then restored from a backup. I didn't sign out off my find my iphone account, because I thought that it wouldn't give me any trouble.
Now, when I log in to me.com, or use the iphone app, my iphone can't be found.
I followed all the instructions showed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2734
But still, my iPhone can't be found
I even tried creating an account with other email adress (hotmail) and still, when I log in to me.com, it says that my iphone doesn't have any available location.
So, I guess that it has to do with restoring without logging out, or deleting the device. But since I'm using the same mobile me account I used from the begining, and the device still has the same serial number, there should be a way to remove every device from my mobile me account and register it again as a new one, or something like that.
    Any advice?

  • My Iphone stopped ringing after my last sync

So I synced to iTunes and I bought two ringtones. I synced them to the phone. After that, my phone only vibrates, but NONE of the rings "ring", although the settings are correct the volume is at max.
I went to the genius bar at my local Apple store. They told me to restore in iTunes my phone to its original factory condition. I clicked on restore and all my photos and songs disappeared. So I test the phone. Nothing. Not ringing. People call me and I don't hear, obviously. Very frustrating. This is the 3rd. day and it's driving me crazy.
So I put all my data back into the iPhone. Still won't ring. Some bug when I synced it? Hardware fault? I did not want to go through the trouble of replacing it but tomorrow I am going to the Apple store again. I hope they do something about it, because a 500 dollar phone that does not ring after 3 months is real bad.
I have not heard anyone having this problem on any iPhone message board.
    Any other ideas?

Another thing to try is turning the iPhone OFF - completely OFF - not just putting it to sleep - but actually turning it OFF. I say this because some people don't know that the iPhone has SLEEP mode (which it is in most of the time) but then can also be TURNED COMPLETELY OFF.
It's a computer. Turn it off and back on every once in awhile (especially) if you have trouble. Treat it the same way you would restart your desktop/laptop computer.
    That is all

  • My iphone stopped ringing and goes straight to voicemail. how can i get it to ring again?

The phone was working normally for almost 2 years, but the last few days it doesn't ring and nobody can reach me.  Help please?

Of course, you have checked the little slider on the left side near the top that turns off the ringer? I have sometimes had it get bumped so that it wasn't all the way in the on position & so it didn't ring & I missed calls. It wasn't all the way down, so it looked like it was in the ring position, but not all the way. So try turning it to the vibrate position & then  back up to the ring position & see if that will fix it.
But you might also take a look in Settings. Browse around & possibly a setting somehow got changed.
A good general thing to do w computing devices (which this is) when they start acting strange or different than normal is to turn it off for a couple of minutes or so. Then turn it back on. That can clear out garbage that can get in the memory somehow. That will often fix things & should be done before any more drastic steps.
& its probably a good idea to turn it off periodically just to clear out stuff that can get left behind.
If the above doesn't work & you still haven't figured it out, if you are near an Apple store I would recommend setting up a Genius Bar appt. They should be able to figure it out.
Unfortunately for me I used to have 2 Apple stores w in about a 10-15 min drive & then a couple more that were just a little further--maybe a half hour & w decent parking available. Now I've moved to Portland & was shocked to discover only 1 Apple Store downtown where you have to pay to park. So I haven't even activated my One to One membership yet.  Did take the Max down there which I guess was simpler than driving.

  • How do I get FaceTime for Mac to stop ringing after answering an incoming call on my iPhone?

I have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled for iPhone and FaceTime and am able to make and receive calls splendidly with FaceTime. However, when I answer an incoming call on my iPhone, FaceTime will not stop ringing. This is a significant, loud, annoying issue for me, my caller, and everyone in my house. It rings for eternity, long after the call has ended, until the call notification on my Mac is either accepted or declined. FaceTime needs to know when the call is answered on another device and stop ringing. Is there any solution for this?

    This works for me:
To turn off Phone Calling on your iPad or iPod Touch, go to FaceTime under Settings and switch off iPhone Cellular Calls. On your Mac, open the FaceTime app, then go to Preferences under FaceTime, and tap Settings. From there, switch off the iPhone Cellular Calls option.
    Found it here:http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/131449-why-s-my-mac-taking-my-iphone-calls-how-t o-turn-off-apple-continuity
I realise it doesn't quite solve the issue of FaceTime "knowing" whether the call has already been answered on another device, which I agree is a flaw. But in my case, I don't want to receive regular phone calls on my Mac at any time. Only the very rare FaceTime call. So turning off cellular calls is a solution of sorts.

  • "Find My iPhone" app says my iPhone 4 is "offline", I call it, it rings. How do I find my iPhone ?

My iPhone 4 was stolen today and I went to iCloud and logged in with my apple ID. I went to use "Find My iPhone", but it says my phone is "offline", that when it connects to a wi-fi that it'll notify me where the phone is. But I have a 3G network. If my 3G network won't do it, how will the phone ever connect to a wi-fi if it is locked? And, if I call it, it'll ring. I don't think the phone's battery died. I don't know what to do. Can someone help me ?

If it's lock, Wi-Fi is switched OFF. The ringing is that the line is trying to connect.
If it's stolen the chance of locating it is very, very small. You can try sending  message or totally wipe it so no data can be stolen.
Now, report to the police, carrier and change all your passwords that are used on iPhone.

  • Hi I have an iPhone 4 and suddenly it stopped working. Could here notifications and nothing on the diisplay. Wake up  button on top is not working. so unable to restart the phone. Wanted to try restore from iTunes but Find my iPhone (iCloud) is on.

Hi I have an iPhone 4 and suddenly it stopped working. Could here notifications and nothing on the diisplay. Wake up  button on top is not working. so unable to restart the phone. Wanted to try restore from iTunes but Find my iPhone (iCloud) is on. How to recover or restart my Phone

Follow these steps to log into your iCloud account on your computer and deactivate "Find my iPhone" on your device:
Remove an iOS device or Mac on which you can’t turn off Find My iPhone
If you can’t turn off Find My iPhone on the device, turn off the device so it goes offline, then remove it from Find My iPhone on iCloud.com.
Note:    You can also remove your iOS device by first erasing it—just follow the instructions below for removing an iOS device you don’t have. You can later restore the device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.
Turn off the device you want to remove.
Sign in to icloud.com/#find on another computer with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud). If you’re using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window, then click Find My iPhone.
Click All Devices, select the offline device, then click Remove from Account. If you don’t see Remove from Account, click All Devices again, then click the Delete button next to the device. If the device comes online again, it will reappear in Find My iPhone. If your device reappears, turn off Find My iPhone on the device (follow the instructions above for removing a device by turning off Find My iPhone), or if it’s an iOS device and you no longer have it, follow the instructions below for removing an iOS device you no longer have.
Remove an iOS device you no longer have
If you no longer have the iOS device because you gave it away or sold it, you need to remotely erase it before you can remove it.
Sign in to icloud.com/#find with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud). If you’re using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window, then click Find My iPhone.
Click All Devices, then select the device.
Click Erase [device], then enter your Apple ID password. Because the device isn’t lost, don’t enter a phone number or message.
Note:    If you’re trying to erase a family member’s device, that person will need to enter his or her Apple ID password on this device. If the device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it’s online. You’ll receive an email when the device is erased.
When the device is erased, click Remove from Account. All your content is erased, and someone else can now activate the device.
