Find my iphone stopped working after a trip to asia
My daughter took her Verizon iPhone 4 to asia for a month. When she came back iCloud could not find her phone anymore. Location Services are on and iCloud is on. The phone can display its own location. Running iOS 5.x.
Fixed: went to Settings/iCloud, used Delete Account, turned phone off and on, Settings/iCloud, re-entered account info. Phone now found by Find My iPhone.
Additional details: when it wasn't working it always said "Offline".
Phone is currently running 5.1.1.

I recently noticed that my app find my iphone stopped working and i could like to discover why?
It was working with no problem until i tried to test for it. I've checked all the configurationand everything seems fine!
I also test the app on a ipad friend to see if the problem was from de apple service but it worked. So i guess its something with my phone.
can anyone help? My location is Portugal

Notifications on iphone stopped working after purchasing ipad
My notifications on the iphone stopped working after purchasing ipad. Now only my iPad receives the notifications. Please let me know if there is a way to have both receive.
I turned off notifications. Turned off my phone. Turned on my phone. Turned on notifications. And now it started sending them again it seems... Have to go check the ipad later if it still is receiving as well...

It seems in the recent months a 3GS of mine which is kept at 4.3.3 has stopped appearing on the Find My iPhone apps.
It has the current log in setup and appears to be enabled, but it just does not show up anymore.
Has anyone else had this problem too?
(Before anyone even suggests, i will NOT upgrade that phone, i need at least one device on an older firmware version since Apple doesnt allow developers to go back and forth between versions to test applications)Find My iPhone is only supported in a Primary iCloud account. Accounts set up in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud are secondary accounts that don't support this feature.
I really don't see how this ever worked. It is my understanding that all access to iCloud services require iOS 5 or higher, and that legacy access to former MobileMe services using iOS 4 were terminated when iCloud officially launched.

Find My Iphone stopped working on 2nd Gen IPOD
Okay..until recently i was able to track my Ipod 2nd Gen on "find my iphone".. I have I cloud set up on my macbook, Iphone 4, Ipod 3rd gen and Ipad 2 with no issues. I have 2 Ipods that are both 2nd gen that used to show up but now one doesn't even show up and the other can't be located.
I have tried various things to try and fix it.
I have reset them IPODs
I have deleted the apps and reinstalled them
I have removed the info from my mobile me under the mail and calender area and reentered it to try and reactivate it.
Location services are on..I even turned them off and on again hoping that might trigger something.
I have tried everything I could think of and read and nothing works..
All software on the devices are up to date..I am at a complete loss at what is going on.. I have tried to locate them on my Iphone, IPad and Macbook and they don't show at all. Any idea would be appreciated.
Thankswhen they dumped mobile me. i just figured it out today. why can't we just log in with our apple ids vs. mobile me. ridiculous.

Find my iPhone stopped working when I restored to factory settings
I have an iPhone4. I set up my find my iphone account. Everything was working perfectly.
Then, one day I restored to factory settings and then restored from a backup. I didn't sign out off my find my iphone account, because I thought that it wouldn't give me any trouble.
Now, when I log in to me.com, or use the iphone app, my iphone can't be found.

But still, my iPhone can't be found
I even tried creating an account with other email adress (hotmail) and still, when I log in to me.com, it says that my iphone doesn't have any available location.
So, I guess that it has to do with restoring without logging out, or deleting the device. But since I'm using the same mobile me account I used from the begining, and the device still has the same serial number, there should be a way to remove every device from my mobile me account and register it again as a new one, or something like that.

after i update the iphone 4s to ios 6.1.1 my i phone stop responding and a message appear tell to connect to i tune i did all the solution and put my iphone in dfu mode and nothing happen my i phone is gone no solution and a message appear tells that can not connect to update server but my ipad work at the same pc the problem in the i phone, plz some help

I never use TM for Backups, far better less painful backup methods, but...

Drag & Drop in finder and spotlight stopped working after 10.5.7 update
Fresh brand new iMac here, clean install 10.5.6, everything fine, copied user data back, all fine, applied 10.5.7 update, bang, admin and user can no longer drag & drop.
I did a permission fix which finds a LOT wrong, that worked, once, next restart gave me the same problem. Running permission fix did not resolve it this time.
Seeing the machine needs to be urgently used I'm re-installing but would LOVE to see a fix as I have 3 other machines with exactly the same problem.Try a restart.
Try trashing your com.apple.finder pref located in HD/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences, then restart.
Apply the stand alone combo update 10.5.6 Combo Update This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.

Iphone stopped working after update
I have an old 3GS which I was using as a back up phone to my 4S.
I recently went through an update via i-tunes and now it doesn't work (it takes you through the language selection part but stalls right after selecting a wifi network stage) - the message reads 'Please try again later or contact customer care'.
Took it to the Apple shop and was told the phone was 'dead' - which I felt was a harsh evaluation given the phone was working fine before the software update - I would suspect it would still be working today had I not done the update.
I was then told the only option was to send back for recycling.....which at the time I was happy to look into until I found how much they were willing to offer.
Anyone else been in this situation and if so what was the outcome?I'm kinda with you on this but I am left with an overall, rhetorical question of sorts about this "waiting" thing.
When did humans, particularly us Americans more than most others, receive this entitlement that rendered "waiting" non-existent?
My point is, at some point you're going to have to wait for something or someone. Perfect universe this ain't. Might as well save your energy for other, more worthy battles. You could be bleeding to death. You could be pregnant and about to give birth. In traffic. And your husband has just shat his pants. For real. Because you're driving.
See? Waiting in line for a well deserved and guaranteed cell phone resolution isn't that bad at all.

Assuming your iPhone is well charged, place it in recovery mode as described here. You may have to try this more than once to succeed.

My son's iPhone 4s was locked a few months ago by some friends who were playing a joke on him. They input the wrong passcode over and over again until it was locked indefinietly. I had to restore the iPhone using a method I found online and got his phone working again. I didn't realize it until recently, but his Find My iPhone app no longer works. It is on and logged in as my Apple ID (although I have to continually put the password in). Anytime I try to use Find My iPhone to locate his phone, it shows me that his phone is offline. Even when I open the app on his phone and try to locate his phone, it says it's offline.
I feel that this issue has something to do with the restore that I did. I don't remember exactly HOW I restored the phone, but know I used iTunes. I've checked his settings for Location Services and Find My iPhone...All are active and Find My iPhone is active on my sons phone. His phone is also updated to the most recent iOS software. The wierd thing is, I CAN find him or his phone using the Find Friends app. He has a tendency to misplace his phone in our home and the Find My iPhone app is great because it allows me to send a signal to play a sound to help us locate it. The Find Friends app doesn't have that capability. Has anyone else had an issue with Find My iPhone not working after a restore?Usually Apple recommended the below steps :

i have same problem but much worst.. i update my iphone4s ios 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 and my iphone CAN'T READ MY SIM, MODEM FIRMWAY GONE, IMEI GONE, and same issue as you guys can't hear sound on my speaker but using earphone works, battery drain much faster than before. Can someone please help. My IPhoneS stopped working right after I did the latest update which was yesterday. Now, the phone does not work at all. When turned on, the screen shows a picture of USB cable pointing to the ITunes logo. I have tried just about everything, and cannot get it working. It's like it is frozon. My ITunes does not recognize my device. Cannot dial out either. I desperately need to get it working. Can someone please help me.

AT&T cannot and will not do anything, they do not provide support for iPhones, Apple does.
The issue is not with the iPhone or iOS if you've reset network settings and tried forgetting the Wi-Fi Network, it is specific to the network.
Check the settings on the router, try disabling the security settings first... that will clarify the issue is not with the device but rather the Network. -
After installing Maverick on my macbook pro, imessage on my ipad and Iphone stopped working properly.
What I get is a RED exclamation and "Not Delivered". It happens even if i resend it over and over.
I have made sure that the 3 devices all have the same settins in iMessage.
I have made sure to try doing it from the same network and from the cell provider network.
I have tried rebooting all three devices.
The only way to get it to work on my iphone and iPad is to dissable it in Mavericks on my MacBook Pro.
Is this a "feature" of the new OS?Hi,
On the iOS devices remove the Apple ID.
Set the device in to Airplane Mode (this breaks with the server)
Start with the iPhone to add back the Apple ID - only after you see the iPhone Number is Verified.
The Restart the Mac Version
Accept the pops ups that state what the iPhone is using.
Do same on iPad.
