Find My Phone - Secondary Account - No longer possible with iOS 7

Hello,
I'm guessing with the sheer number of posts following the iOS release today that this will likely get lost in the flood, but it's really really making me crazy and would love a fix if possible.
Pre-iOS 7, I had all of the family's devices set to use the same iCloud's account for find my phone. This was achieved by adding a second account to the device, disabling find my phone on the primary account, then turning it on in the secondary account. This was perfect. One login, all devices show up.
This no longer works as the secondary account, still listed after the upgrade, now has a note that find my phone is only available on the primary account.
Please please please. How do I get this back?  Honestly, I'd even take it as is if you could associate multiple accounts within the find my phone app, but I don't see this as an option either.

This infuriates me!
That was one of the draws for me to buy 5 iPhones for my entire family, one platform to support and the ability to know where everyone is.
I really wish they would re-consider and bring this back.
If not, I would be willing to pay for an app to allow me to use the locate feature.

    In the past I was able to double-click the home button and then kill all the apps running in the background that I no longer needed to be running.  And usually at the end of the night i would kill everything from running, even if it was just for peace of mind, it just felt right; like i had some control over my device and what was running and/or going on in the background. However, now when i double-click the Home Button it just shows me every app that ive opened, every picture that ive taken/or looked at, my browsing history, my alarm from this morning, the calculator that I utilized earlier, etc... But i cant figure out how to turn all that stuff off now?  I dont like the fact that now when i double click the home button it just shows literally every move that ive made with my phone and gives no option to turn-off, close/force-close, erase, or just not show every **** thing ive done.  Im too much of a control freak for my device be running like that;  is there something Im missing? 

    Double clicking for me displays the active apps along the bottom row and (with iOS7) a view of the app as a large pic.  Just swip that pic up and it will shut down the app.

    The reason, I included the annotation that I'd upgraded my Itunes, (On my Computer) is B/C in many forums - the very first question, *HELPERS* ask, is. "Do you have the latest version of Itunes downloaded on your computer." I wanted to knock out any obvious replies.
    Now-  "DO YOU have any idea,"... how your UNHELPFUL remarks, do absolutely nothing but hurt others that might not have the EXPERIENCE you have? How do you expect people to know things without asking questions? Whew! RUDE!!

    GMail accounts no longer sync with Mac in Mountain Lion. Should I upgrade to the latest operating system - I'm not sure if it will slow down my laptop as its quite a few years old now.
    If I long in on Safari it works fine so L know that my password is correct. It also works fine on my phone and iPad.

    Correct, Apple have removed that feature. However, you can still see the artwork of the song that's playing; it's shown in the Now Playing indicator at the top of the iTunes window. It is small, but if you click on it, a larger version pops up.
    Also, in Albums View, you can see the album artwork.

    With iOS 4.0x, 4.1 and 4.2x my smart playlists with live updating were broken. It would start with track 1 of 5, then 2 of 4, then 3 of 3, 4 of 2, then would generally crash the iPod app. If I left the playlist and re-entered it would have removed the entries already played, but I would find that some of the entries that should have played had actually been skipped in m playlist.
    With iOS 4.3, my playlists are properly working for me again. Now they play 1 of 5, 2 of 5, 3 of 5, ... If I return to the playlist while it is playing, I see that the entries that have already played are removed, and if I leave the playlist to return later, it starts over a 1 of 2, 2 of 2...
    I have posted another thread of how I have my playlists defined, so perhaps that would help you. I do recall that there were some conditions that used to cause problems if used in a smart playlist.

    Not on your own. Click here and ask the iTunes Store staff to put it back onto the card; they'll only do this if none of the balance has been spent.

    You should not need to enter anything. the iCloud service is one of the  preconfigured options.
    Just choose the iCloud type from the Add new Mail screen, and enter your details in the next screen.
    If you don't have the iCloud option, but instead have the mobileMe option then you will need to update your iOS.

    Prior to ios7, through iCloud and Find My Phone, I could turn on Lost Mode and it prompted for an unlock code. Now, it no longer asks for a new code, just a phone number to show in a prompt on the locked phone. This is a hole.
    So, what if a friend or stranger knows or sees me unlock my phone on a regular basis, but then later steels it? Now I turn on Lost Mode, but since they know the normal lock screen 4 digit code, they have the phone and can unlock it from Lost Mode.
    That isn't safe, and is a step backwards from the previous Lost Mode options.
    Take this to another level, my child has a phone and has been abusing it... I want to lock it. Now I can't!!!!!!!

  • TV out no longer possible with os 5.0.1 on iPad 2

    I have 2 iPads: the iPad 2 with version 4.3.5 is working fine, with the AV cable connector on it mirrors the iPad 2 perfectly. The TV out settings are displayed under Video.
    However with my other iPad 2, version 5.0.1, the latest, it's now impossible to use the mirroring feature, the same AV cable, connected to the same TV or monitor is not even detected by the iPad. The TV out settings are no longer in the Video settings (now replaced by the Home Sharing Id, you really wonder why...). I need the mirroring function back as I'm using my iPad for work to do presentations and the external monitors, TV or projectors won't detect it at all..and of course the expensive AV cable is now useless..
    I've tried looking for the TV out settings under the General Settings as recommended by other people on the forum but they don't appear even when the AV cable adapter is connected.
    I really hope it's a bug and that Apple is going to fix it ASAP! Does somebody get the same issue or can I help? Thanks!

    Hi.  Sorry if I sound pedantic, misterpage, but when you say "AV cable" do you mean the old video/L/R (Yellow/White/Red) which techies tend to refer as the composite cable?  Just I'm trying to find info on the issue and keep getting HDMI which is irrelevant to my problem.
    I recently got an iPad 3... which is pretty much a spritzed up iPad2 with iOS 5.1 (which I just updated to 5.1.1 with no affect on the issue at hand) and got an aftermarket AV/HDMI/USB adapter and found the video wasn't coming out of the AV port though the sound was.  The sound on the iPad was muted so long as the adapter was in with the AV cable attached which suggests that it has been detected by the iPad similar to what you describe.  Would you say this to be similar to what you're experiencing?

  • Smart Playlists no longer updated with iOS 4.3 on iPhone 4

    I've run into an issue with the latest iOS 4.3 update: my smart playlists are no longer dynamically being updated on my iPhone 4.
    All of my main playlists are smart: they exclude songs that I've played in the past week. Earlier today when I'd play a song and it went to the next one, it'd immediately remove the song from the playlist (so I was always on track 1 of XXX). With 4.3, this is no longer happening and the smart playlist only dynamically updates when I sync my phone with my computer. This is annoying because it means that I can end up hearing the same song again if I switch playlists.
    Anyone else run into this? Any fixes? I tried rebooting my phone to no avail.

  • Kobo app no longer compatibile with IOS 6 IPOD touch

    The updated version of Kobo App is no longer compatible with my IPOD Touch 4th generation (IOS 6).  Can I find an earlier, compatible version of the Kobo app to reinstall it on my IPOD touch?  Or is there any possibility of upgrading to IOS 7 without having to buy a new IPOD Touch?

  • I Phone 4 S has no sound with IOS 8

    I have an 32 Gig I Phone 4 S that has no sound sine I upgraded to IOS 8.  No resolution after 4 subsequent IOS 8 updates.  Thought I could down grade to IO 7.  I am told that is not possible [why not?]
    I have done:
    [1] full factory restore and latest download of IO 8... I have done this 3 times
    [2] I have done full factory restore and set it up as new phone and before I imported a single app or even a contact, had same sound issue.
    Apple, you said IO 8 would work on my phone.  It does not [diagnostics say my phone is fine]
    IOS 8 does not work on my iphone 4 S.  I have had no sound and thus no turn by turn directions, no music, no you tube, no online streaming of any sound since September 17th.
    I am the usual story of the resurgence of Apple, I bought an I Pod, then an I phone, then a Mac Mini, Macbook pro and even an Apple TV.
    If I google "problems with IOS8"  I get 99,500 hits.  There are 82 pages alone of comments about wifi issues with IOS 8.
    Apple, you broke my phone with your software update, please fix it or replace it.  It is not OK to treat a good customer like this.  If you something that isn't yours, it is common courtesy to fix,replace or pay for it.   This is something we teach children.

    Well, Apple does not participate in the forum, so they will not hear all of the things that you have asked them to do. If you restored the device as new and tested it with no content added and it was still not working correctly, then you need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the nearest Apple store to have the hardware checked. Then when there you can tell the Genius everything you wanted to tell Apple here, about the number of Google hits you received, the fact they broke your phone and want it fixed or replaced. and that you feel they should not be treating you like they are.   • Ipod out no longer works with iOS 6.1

    As the title suggests, after updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.1 the iPod out function no longer works with connected devices. With the previous version, I could hook up my Kenwood car stereo using the lightning to 30 pin adapter and the stereo would "Read" my iPhone and begin playing the first track of my music collection. I also had song, artist and playlist search support.
    Now, all I get is a constant "Reading" indicator and can't get past this point.
    Is anyone else having any experiences similar to this and does anyone have any suggestions to fix it?

    Try this.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off.
    Set the date one year ahead. Try to get email.
    If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to get email again.
