Find not finding on main drive
I have 2 back up drives connected to my computer: one internal, the other an external firewire.
I tried to find a folder and pressed: CMD + F and put in the the folder name in the upper right field where the cursor lands as default and it found 2 occurances:
one on my internal backup and the other on my external, but not the original folder on my main drive that I am was currently running off of at the time.
"This Mac" was selected, so I assume it should look on all drives connected to my computer, but for some reason isn't finding on my the main drive.
There was one criteria set: Kind = Folders
To be sure I added a 2nd criteria: Name
which was a duplication, I realize, but I wanted to be sure.
Am I doing something wrong? Shouldn't a find, find on the main computer drive?
Mac Pro. Running OSX 10.5.7
Thanks,
Steven
OH... I see the problem. I put my main drive in the privacy window to stop it from indexing because I was trying to find a cause that my system was crashing and SL was a suspect at the time. I just need to delete my drive from the Privacy window and all should be OK. Thanks.

Had 20GB partition (empty) deleted it but space was not returned to main Drive
As said in the title I had a 20GB Partition that was meant for windows, I never found a use for it so never installed windows. Then I desided to delete the partition by going into bootcamp and just hitting the minus button. Now in bootcamp it sais I have only one 160GB partition. But when I go to about, more info, storage(system information) it sais I have 60GB available of 140. I am missing 20GB of space that i would like to have back.
Any ideas?Clone
Boot from Recovery or clone
Erase + Restore
I don't use Verify. And I don't fully trust Disk Utility to find all possible errors.
There is now with Lion a verify ALL partitions, including the GPT and others though.
In the past SL and earlier, if the backup volume information block (hidden) had an error, if part of the GPT wasn't, it would skip.
The only time you can map out bad blocks is during a format of all partitions, and it does test for bad sectors before doing so - those can't be changed or mapped out later.
Unless you have bad blocks, I'd just erase and restore. -
Why does my main drive not show in devices/finder
Mybe I am trying to do something that I don't actually need to do,,,,
when I watch tutorials they mention that your local drive is seen in devices which is found in finder, the only time that the devices 'folder' shows is if I insert an SD card, I then see Devices and the name of the SD card inserted.
I just want to create my own folders on the main Drive/Storage other than the standard pictures, videos, applications etc
can any one help me out??I have been messing with this for a few hours, posted my question and instantly resolved it with a link on the right reffering to the same issue,,,
Now resolved

Upgraded drive, now Lightroom can't find my main catalogue
I have a separate data drive in my system. When it filled up, I upgraded to a larger data drive. The person who set it up for me transferred all the dotage to the new drive. Now Lightproof can't find my main catalogue although for some reason my collections are listed.
Message was edited by moderator: fixed formatting and title, but not spellingIf you know where the catalog is located you can browse to that folder and double-click on the catalog. Lightroom will open the catalog and you can continue.

Edited by: sivapara on Feb 16, 2011 1:08 PMI was able to resolve this issue by performing following.
1. Go to the location where sqldeveloperW.exe is being executed from.
2. You will find a file sqldeveloper.conf in that location. Edit this file and change the value of IncludeConfFile to point to actual place. For me following were old and new values.
OLD (Wrong) : IncludeConfFile ../../jdev/bin/ide.conf
NEW (Correct) : IncludeConfFile ../../ide/bin/ide.conf
After making above change in the sqldeveloper.conf file. Save and close it. Restart SQLDeveloper. You will not get the error anymore.
Thanks

Execute jar file: "could not find the main class" program will terminate
Hey,
I am new to Java. I have started to make a small java program which supposed to help me at my studies to lean the Dominic Memory System. I have used the latest version of Netbeans 5.5.1 to build my program in. I have two problems which I cannot figure out how to solve, please help me.
The first problem is that the java script I have made works when I compile it in Netbeans, but when I create a Jar file it does not work. I receive a pop up message in windows ?could not find the main class program will terminate? when I execute the jar file.
The second problem I have is that I need to compare the strings generated by the "numbers" and "TIP" and if the numbers is not identical the numbers in the ?Center? JPanel should be highlighted as red.
If anyone would like to clean up the code I would be pleased. I have copied quite a lot from anyone because of my one lack of knowledge.

Executable JAR file: Could not find the main class.
Hello,
I have a problem with making an executable JAR file.
I have written a JAVA program that consists of five different classes of which User.java is the main class and I have saved a text document with Main-Class: User and a blank line after that.
If I try:
jar cmf MainClass.txt User.jar User.class Beheerder.class Operator.class Manager.class MaakVisueelSchema.class
it makes a executable jar file which actually works! :)
But when the Operator class trys to open the MaakVisueelSchema class the screen stays blank.
I can run MaakVisueelSchema with java MaakVisueelSchema.
So I tried to make an executable JAR that consists only of MaakVisueelSchema, the same way as I did for User:
Main-Class: MaakVisueelSchema
jar cmf MainClass.txt MaakVisueelSchema.jar MaakVisueelSchema.class
Then I get the error message:
Could not find the main class. Program will exit.
from the Java Virtual Machine Launcher.
The big difference between MaakVisueelSchema and the other classes is that MaakVisueelSchema contains a PaintComponent method and an ComponentListener. Is it possible that one of those creates the error?
Can anyone help me with this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Bye!Yes,
I tried:
jar xvf MaakVisueelSchema.jar
and it returns:
META-INF/
META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
MaakVisueelSchema.classN/G. You need to manually create a manifest file in a text editor, have it point to your main class, and enter it in your jar command as an argument. -
Can not start WebLogic in Eclipse. Error: "Could not find the main class."
I have installed Eclipse 2.0 and WebLogic Server 6.1. and the WebLogc plug in from GENUITEC (and jdk1.3.1_04, on Win2K Server). After I have done the configuration, the WebLogic start/stop buttons are integried into the Eclipse Toolbar, but when I click on the start button to start Weblogic, it pops up a dialog box "Java Virtual Machine Launcher" with message: "Could not find the main class. Program will exit!"
Starting WebLogc Server from the Start panel works fine.
Does any one have seen this before or have a suggestion what I should do?
Many many thanks in advance.
HuanWeblogic must be started with a full JDK; otherwise
JSPs and dynamic EJB stubs could not be deployed. The
error message
indicates you are attempting to use a JRE. Configure
Eclipse JRE to point to a JDK. The product
documentation will help you with this process. It does not work for me. :-(
I have tried JDK 1.3.1 and 1.4.1: same result: I get a "Could not find the main class: Program will exit"

Where can i find a Labview driver for the "8990a PEAK POWER ANALYZER" it's not on NI's site.
where can i find a Labview driver for the "8990a PEAK POWER ANALYZER" it's not on NI's site.
if there is no driver maybe you can tell me the closest instrument that comes to this one from the list at,
http://search.ni.com/query.html?lk=1&col=alldocs&nh=500&rf=3&ql=&pw=595&qp=%2BContentType%3AInstrumentDriver+%2BIDNetManufacturer%3A%22Hewlett-Packard%22&qt=peak+power+analyzer&layout=IDNet
so i could modify and use the driverHello,
It looks like Agilent/HP makes the 8990A, but I was not able to find a driver for it that we or Agilent has written for this device.
Since I am not familiar with the 8990A, I cannot recommend which drivers might be similar, but you are pointed in the right direction. Agilent themselves might know more about which models use similar command sets so that you can modify a driver easily.
Hope this helps.
