Find or Search yields no results

When I search for a word in an Adobe PDF file, I get no results.

Could be that it was created from a scan. If so, there is no actual text to search for.

Image searches yield unwanted results

Say for example, i type in sandal and click search. It takes me to the search results, i find a picture i like, and click on it. when i go to the link that says "see full size image" safari pauses, the url jumps around and then it brings me to some site that sells sandals. in between those two pages, there is a white screen and a little button that says "continue" flashes in the top left corner, then it goes to the ad site.
I must've installed something that I shouldn't have. what are the steps i can take to fix this?

well it probably wont happen to you because I believe it is because of some software that is on my computer. However I can post a URL that appears on my browser when the search image link takes me to an unwanted page, if you think that would help. But, im pretty certain that it is software that is controling safari rather than safari itself. Maybe i shouldn't have posted in the safari section.

The "power search" yields no results whatsoever when i attempt to search. Is this a problem with itunes or my computer? Everything else seems to load just fine involving the itunes store.

I am attempting to search for artists on itunes and for some reason it keeps telling me there are no results when I know I am tying in the correct artist. I have been trying this repeatedly and using different artists and song names and I am still getting no results. Is this a problem with itunes?

The only thing I would be concerned about is.
1st, Where did the media come from.
2nd, Was it clean and free of scratches.
Most of the CD&DVD Drives in Powerbooks seem to be very very picky about the media they like to play with.
Always be carefull of the Source from where it came.
Commercially produced Media is rarely a problem.
It doesn't take much eiter to make them act silly.

Spotlight search yields no results

Every now and then Spotlight searches fail and nothing appears. This happens fairly often but seem unpredictable.
I've tried various remedies suggested by others, like turning off everything in the Spotlight settings and turning them back on, etc.
I thought that this problem had been resolved with iOS 8.2.

I'm also getting blank results from time to time. It has gotten better i.e less blank results with 8.2. However the issues still exists. It's annoying. I hope it's solved in 8.3.

Tools > Downloads or {Ctrl + J} will open the Downloads window

Please Help Urgent:Fast Search returning wrong result sets

We are facing below issue with fast search.
Currently in My project when we are searching for a phrase it is returning wrong result sets.
For example if we search for “Endura”, It is returning documents related to
Endura as well as Centura.
But the expected results are only Endura documents.
When we look in to the documents we didn’t find the search term (“Endura” ) either inside document content or in its meta data.
In order to resolve the issue we tried the below steps
1-
We manually edited and saved the document, to ensure the appropriate Guid association to metadata.
2-
Index reset
3-
Full crawl
But no luck so far.

Subrat,
This may be related to spellchecking or may be synonym. Spellcheck is based on indexed terms.
The best test would be to run the queries from qrserver (13280) and then look at the spellcheck query transformations. If spellchecking is not doing it, then you must have a synonym setup .Check your keyword/synonyms from the SharePoint side.

"Your Search Had No Results" returned when clicking on download arrow

In the Salt Lake Community College iTunes U "private" side of iTunes U, whenever someone clicks on the download arrow to download a podcast (the arrow that is to the right of the podcast name and to the left of the time), they get the following error:
"Your Search Had No Results. Use Power Search to Refine your Search or use Browse to browse the entire iTunes store. Request anything you cannot find."
This happens in every section we have, and it does not matter if the podcast is uploaded to the iTunes U site and living on their servers, or if it is on our servers and is populated to the iTunes U site via RSS feed.
When we click on the podcast name we can play it on the computer, but cannot download it to an iPod for play.
Has anyone seen this before? Any help or suggestions?

I just searched again and came up empty. Not sure what you mean about the tabs. It goes....
Internet > Podcasts > Search "kfi" > "kfi am 640 handel on the law." > "Your search had no results"; and there are no tabs visible at any stage in that process. It is an active podcast and works fine within iTunes itself. This is not the only podcast I can't access; it is happening quite a bit with podcasts not in the Top, Favorites, or Providers.

Search returned no results

Hi Experts,
I had configured backend BW 3.5 connection in the EHP1 for CE 7.1. When I opened VC, I can find the BW system name I configured. I am using dedicated application server configuration. However, when I try to search for query or infoset, it showed "search returned no results". The connection test in system landscape was sucessful. What may be the root cause? Do I need to install any support package in BW 3.5 in order to be searched by VC?

Maybe I am not seeing the same page that you are seeing. I recently downloaded Firefox 9.0.1. If we are not seeing the same page, is there something I can do to correct this?

LDAP - AD - Referral following yielded no result

Hi,
I have some problems with LDAP Queries.
I want to querie my Active Directory on port 389 from our Ironport C350 which stands in the DMZ. Firewall has been opened for this connection.
When I configure the LDAP accept querie an test it, I get an error
"Referral following yielded no result".
Does anyone know what this means and how I can solve this problem?
FyI:
I have configured our Ironport in our LAN with exactly the same configuration. This works fine.

Just downloaded the latest version of iTunes. Can't find "Power Search" anymore to locate specific songs or artists? Using "Browse" takes waaay too long. Any suggestions?

SharePoint Foundation 2010 Search returns no results

SharePoint foundation 2010 Search is not showing any results after configuring the step from the below link.

My Server Setup :
SharePoint Foundation 2010
SQL Server 2008 r2
We have created two web application and configured the search service as above mention link.
And we have migrated a site from MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010 to one of web application,we assigned search database to the newly migrated content database.
Previously there was Form based Authentication was done on Moss 2007 site and on SP 2010 we are working on Windows authentication.
Database showing crawl is working and showing success results as well in SQL table, Its only Not able to show the results on the page.

Don't look at the databases, it's a bad habit to get into and will lead to confusion.
In search administration are you getting any sucsess messages in the crawl history and is the number of items in your index non-zero?
If so that implies that the crawl process is working and it's the user security that's the issue.
To confirm try searching for a file whilst logged in as the crawl account, that should return results.

Hi i have just downloaded maverick and cannot find a search icon that'l stay on my toolbar

just up graded to mavericks and i cannot find a search icon that'll stay on my tool bar..? i can find the one in edit/find but it closes after use. also safari help does now not work... would much appreciate some help

In Snow Leopard the Spotlight access is exactly the same. The only search field is in the Safari toolbar, and this has been amalgamated with the address field - as I said above, just type the search terms in the address field:
