Find out how much each device is downloading

Hi All,
Is there an easy way to find out how much each device on the network is using (Such as Laptop, Youview box, Xbox, PS3 etc) as i am just curious as to how much i am actually downloading per month.
Surely you must be able to get the stats out of the router or modem?

MACAir Memory 128gb: the apps are using too much memory. i get not sufficient memory for upgrades. how can i find out how much memory each app is using?

Mavericks is designed to use RAM differently for good reason. Normal

Mavericks uses RAM much more efficiently than any other previous version of OS X. Mavericks now has a memory compression feature that will compress the memory occupied by applications that aren't being actively used and give the freed up RAM to the application that needs it the most.

  • How do I find out how much space I have left on my macbook pro? I downloaded the new mavericks operating system and can't figure it out. Before the space would be at the bottom of my finder.

I downloaded the new mavericks operating system on my macbook pro and I can't find out how much space I have left. Before the installation of mavericks, storage space left was displayed at the bottom of the Finder window.

In the Finder, under the View menu there is an option to Show Status Bar.  Select that and you will see the info on the bottom of folders again.

  • Finding out how much root space does each app take...

Hello! I was wondering if there is a way to find out how much root space does each installed app take, like a X-terminal command or something? Just want to figure out if i have some "non-optified" programmes (I believe this is the right term, but could very well be wrong) Cheers
    Solved!

Wow.. MC is a freaking space hog! 5meg of root space
libmagic is interesting.. not sure what needs that.. it's used by software to tell what file type a file is.. it can look at a jpeg, for example and tell you it is a jpg.. clever stuff really (it doesn't use the file extension like windows) so I assume this is possibly midnight commander too..
Out of all the extra packets you've installed, they're using 19,184,792 bytes of root space.. 18meg..
5meg is midnight commander, 3 meg is QT3 support (not sure why you have that) and another 1.3meg is libmagic and 2 meg is some Python stuff..
Killing off midnight commander would free some space... (why this isn't on /opt, I don't know) but realistically you've not used too much.. you should be fine!
    ---edit---
I finished re-reading your post, not just the log file.. HA!! The funny thing is, doing this command line stuff is second nature to me.. I frequently do it in my sleep The N900 is therefore the ideal phone for someone of this disposition.. I need to find out blah statistics.. erm.. COMMAND LINE
If you want to wander down such a particularly perverse path, I'm happy to help out and newbieness is always forgiven
But it just shows what you can get away with using nothing more than litterally a few command line commands! pretty neat really!

  • Is there a way to access iCloud to find out how much storage space I need to install music on iPhone? Genius Bar was not very helpful...

I have several questions I could not get answered yesterday...
Does the number of songs listed on iPhone represent music available on iPhone or in iCloud.
How do find out how much space of music you have in iCloud you need for iPhone to download all music?
Is there a easier way to get the music available in iCloud downloaded to iPhone without separately downloading each album separately?
Last question...if the music is not downloaded...does it get played at all when on wi-fi?

Both. If you have the setting to "show all music" set to ON you will see all music that is available. If the setting is set to OFF you will only see music that is stored locally on the device.

iTunes Match does not use your iCloud storage.

Music can be downloaded by Album, Artist or Playlist. Or you can disable iTM, sync music via USB, then re-enable the iTM service.

    Yes.

  • Where do I go to find out how much memory I have left?

Where do I go to find out how much memory I have left?

    Use the Settings app.
    Settings > General > Usage
You should see how much storage space is used on your device and how much remains. It takes a little while for the apps section to update but that area will tell you how much storage is being used by each app. Tapping on the > next to an app will provide information on how much storage the app requires and how much is being used by data and files.

  • How do I find out how much of my hard drive space is used up

I have a Mac OS X Version 10.7.5. Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; Memory 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. Computer is running very slow. I cleared downloads and reset Safari, emptied trash, etc. How  can I find out how much space I have left on my hard drive?

As you appear to have at least OS 10.7 installed, you can simply highlight your hard drive and press the SPACE bar to get this:

  • I need to find out how much wifi data my apps are using. I have a very limited amount of wifi data, and I am exceeding my monthly allowance. Apparently, even apps I think are not open are sending/receiving data through the wifi and using up my allowance.

I need to find out how much wifi data my apps are using. I am on a very limited amount of WiFi data each month, which I am regularly exceeding. I have been told to work out which of my apps is using the data. Also, I think I have closed an app by double clicking the home button, then swiping the app up - is this the way to close it, or will it still be sending/receiving data?

Go into your Settings : General : and turn off background refresh for your apps.  In Settings : Mail  turn Fetch new data to OFF and Load Remote Images to OFF.  This will mean that Mail will only check for messages when you actually use it, and all your advertising junk mail won't have all the images in it.
Turn off push notifications every chance you get.
Make sure you are actually quitting apps:  to quit apps press the Home button twice and you should see a bunch of smaller screen images for every open app.  To quit the app swipe from the screen image (not the icon) upward off the top of the iPad.  You can swipe left and right to see more open apps, but there must be no left-right movement on the screen when you swipe upward to close the app.
Turn off your internet connection when you do not need it.  The easiest way to do this is to swipe up from the bottom of you screen to get the control centre, and then touch the airplane to turn on airplane mode.  You can repeat this sequence to turn it back on again when you need it.  Most especially turn airplane mode on whenever you are sleeping your iPad for long periods.  This will save battery life too.  OR actually turn your iPad off - which means holding the power key down for several seconds until the red swipe bar appears, and then swipe to turn it off.  If you go this route, note that it will take longer to turn on then it takes to wake from sleep.

  • Where do i find out how much space i have available on my computer

I have a macbook pro and was wondering how to find out how much space I have available.  I need to download pictures off my external drive to format it.

Many possibility. If you want to see, how the disk space is used, click the -menu and select "About this Mac".
In the "About" panel click "More Info".
Then you can explore your Mac. Click the "Storage" tab.
It will show you, how the disk space is used for photos, apps, etc. for all connected drives.
This screenshot is for MacOs X 10.9.4.

  • How to find out how much disk space left on hard drive OS 10.7.5?

Yes, this probably seems like a dumb question; however, after I installed OS 10.7.5, I noticed that the little bar at the bottom of each window which revealed available disk space has disappeared. How do I get it back? How do I find out how much space left on my internal hard drive?

  • How do I find out how much my music is making from iTunes?

One of my band's songs is on iTunes. How do I find out how much I'm making, and where that money is going?

You may find that it's less expensive to go somewhere (such as ebay) and purchase a replacement rather than going through Apple to get yours repaired or replaced.
The iPad 1 isn't affected by the Activation Lock issue that many people run into when buying a secondhand device as it cannot run iOS 7.
It will probably be around $250 to repair/replace the iPad through Apple, and if you're willing to spend that amount, you may as well spend a bit more and get a newer device.

How to find out how much there are columns in Array?
Array.length returns only number of rows.

If you have a multidimensional array and each row has the same number of "columns" then call length on any of the arrays that are elements of your "main" array.

How do i find out how much space i have left on my computer?

Disk space can now be seen in the "About This Mac" window. Click on the Apple icon, select About This Mac then click More Info... There you will find a Storage tab that will list all connected drives in a bar graph similar to how storage is displayed in iTunes for iOS devices.
