Find out the original provider

Good evening,
I´ve tried to search issues like this but can`t found any in the "3GS" topic, just one which doesn`t helped me.
At first I want to excuse my german-school-english.
My parents bought an iPhone and it has a simlock. In germany the only provider was long time T-Mobile and now there are O2 and Vodafon, too.
I thought it will be locked on T-Mobile - I`ve a contract with T-Mobile - but when I will activate, it tells me theres a wrong sim-card in it.
After that I tried with a Vodafon and an O2-Sim from my sisters, but without success. Now I think it has to be from an other country.
However, in the moment I want to try to contact the right provider to make a contract with them or unlock it legality with the agreement of the provider.
In this case I need to know the provider, I think.
Is there any option to find out the lock-provider before activation?
Perhaps over the Hotline?
Even the country it was sold could help me.
I`d happy to help
faithfully,
Jan-Peter

Good news O2 do unlock but only if the iPhone is working and used in the UK
This the O2 guidance
http://www.o2.co.uk/unlockmyiphone
You would need to buy an O2 PAYG sim in the UK use the iPhone IN the UK so the IMEI is recognised
by the O2 network and then follow the instructions above ensuring you have enough credit on the sim etc.
Probably not what you want to hear but emphasises the risks of buying on ebay from unscrupulous
vendors

  • How can I find out the original UK price of an older MacBook Pro*

    I need to find out the original UK cost of a specific older model macbook pro. This is because I had mine stolen the other day and the insurance company are going to give me a percentage of the original cost. As I bought mine used I don't know the original price, but I don't want to get short changed! by my insurance company.
    Any help would be greatly apreciated,

    well, you can go go everymac.com - click on year - then select the year you macbook pro was - from there - click on the model that corresponds to the one you lost - go all the way to the bottom to see the original selling price and convert it to your currently.
    see example on the image below for me 2010 Macbook Air.

  • Is there any way to find out the dependency information for column of view?

    Does Oracle provide some view / table / pl/sql pkgs to find out the dependency information for column of view ?
    For example, there are two table mytable1 (col1 varchar2(10), col2 date) & mytable2 (col1 varchar2(10), qty int), and there is one view myView as
    select mytable1.col1, col2, qty from mytable1 inner join mytable2 on mytable1.col1 = mytable2.col
    Can I get some information such as myView.col1 is come from mytable1.col, myView.col2 is come from mytable1.col2, myView.qty is come from mytable2.qty
    ?

    I can get the information about the columns list in table/view from ALL_TAB_COLUMNS table, but I wish to know the column in the view is come from which original table's column.
    Is there any way to find it out from Oracle meta data / through any PL/SQL packages ?

    Then 17070 won`t work ether.
    17070 is normally allowed on stopped lines, as it enables field engineers to do pair identification. Sometimes 1470 needs to be added as a prefix, if the number was withheld.
    Where possible, old phone lines are left with "soft" dial-tone, as it saves extra work when a new line is provided, and encourages new customers.
    Some service providers insert a recorded announcement if someone tries to dial out. "Welcome to XXXX service provider, please dial XXX to activate this line"  or something similar.

  • How can I find out the current platform type?

    Hello,
    I want to find out the platform type (in the format of v$transportable_platform.platform_type) of a running Oracle instance (on 10g2 and 11g1). The v$transportable_platform shows a list of all supported platforms, and I want only the type that is encoded in the datafiles - v$datafile does not provide me such information.
    Thank you,

  • How can I find out the apn number of the battery without having it?

    I dont have the battery of my iphone 5 anymore but how can i find out the apn number of the battery? I would like to change it but i need to know the apn number to choose the right battery.

    Apple does not provide any user-serviceable parts (other than accessories or sometimes a SIM card tray).
    Therefore, there are no legitimate iPhone batteries available for sale anywhere.

  • How can I find out the angle of a straight line between two anchor points?

    I would like to extend a line which is at a given angle (not 45,90 degree). Is there a quick and reliable way to do this? or to find out the angle of a segment?
    What I'm doing at the moment is just direct selecting an anchor point and using the visual guides to extend it. I don't think this is exact though so was I wondering if anyone had any techniques for doing this?
    Thanks!

    portfelio,
    Smart Guides are your friends.
    As a general solution, you may:
    1) With the Line Segment Tool ClickDrag between the two Anchor Points (Smart Guides say anchor);
    2) With the appropriate Reference Point selected in the Transform palette, increase the W or H value and Ctrl/Cmd+Enter;
    3) Lock the new auxiliary line;
    4) ClickDrag the relevant Anchor Point of the original line along the extended auxiliary line (Smart Guides say path);
    5) Unlock and delete the auxiliary line.
    After 1), you may also click the Line Segment Tool to see the angle.
    Or,  in a case with a straight path (segment), you may use the Scale Tool:
    1) (Direct) Select the straight path (segment);
    2) Switch to the Scale Tool and Click the Anchor Point that is to stay, then ClickDrag the one to move (Smart Guides say uniform when you are dragging in the right direction).

    How can I find out the date of a movie I am trying to pre-order if the date is not available/showing in the "manage pre-order" section?

    Thanks so much for your reply King_Penguin. No, sadly there is not indication of the expected release date on the film, it's no where to be found. I have also tried to look in other places online, but no luck. I guess your latter statement jives more with my situation, that  being the studio/rights-holder hasn't feel inclined to provide the date.

    How do I find out the date in which I registered my imac?

    It doens't really matter what date you registered it. However if you are looking to see when your expiration on AppleCare is/was it is 3 years from the original date of purchase. You can use the Apple Online Service Assistant afer you input the serial number click the link that says See your service and support coverage.
