Find Someone Else's iPhone
I just set up the Find iPhone app on my iPhone 5, and it shows my phone and MacBook Pro under My Devices. I have two questions:
If my iPhone is lost, can I use my sister's iPhone to find mine. Is it just a matter of signing out of her iCloud account and signing into mine, or does it only work for devices that are registered under the same iCloud account?
I can see my laptop and phone under the iPhone app's My Devices list, but how can I see my phone on a similar list on my laptop? Is there an OSX version of this program, or is it IOS only?
Thanks in advance
No 1: Yes, you can use your sister iPhone Find My iPhone app to locate yours. Sign in with your Apple ID.
No 2: On laptop, use the browser with this link: https://www.icloud.com Sign in with your Apple ID.

Apple has apparently maid it much more difficult to help someone out that has lost his iphone. I guess they want to sell more phones.
You can do it on a computer, by just signing in on their account, but on an iPad or iPhone you have to use "find my friends." However, if you have not preinvited the distressed friend, he wont be able to accept your invitation since his iphone is missing. Nasty.
Nope. Wrong. All you need is to download the Find My iPhone app, for free, from the App Store, on another iOS device. -
Why is Find My iPhone finding someone else's iPhone?
Hi all - I just purchased an iPhone 5s (my first iPhone!) and have been exploring my apps and trying to become familiar with the new device. I was looking on Find My iPhone and noticed another iPhone connected to my account at an address around 30 miles away. I don't know anyone who lives in this location and I am concerned that someone might have access to my Apple ID. Is this a valid assumption/does anyone know what could be happening?
I should mention that I had to return my original 5s to the Apple store last week and got it replaced with a new one due to some issues I was having. At that point I erased everything off the phone. I am wondering if maybe that phone is somehow still connected? I really have no idea.
I am considering going to the Apple store tomorrow to talk to someone, but I just wanted to check here first.
Thanks in advance for your help!Sounds like it could be potentially a refurb...I dont think an Apple ID can be wiped from the device so this could be the case...
I would speak with Apple Support or someone in store to discuss your concern.
Also if in doubt change your password.. -
How would i use someone else's iPhone to find my iPhone? what App to I need to run to search for my iPhone
Settings>general>resets>erase all content and settings.
That will put it back to its out of the box state. Set it up with your own apple Id. -
How can I find someone else iPhone
How can I find someone else iPhone
If there is no service on the phone, then there is no way to track it. If it had service and Find My iPhone is activated, then it could be tracked, if it has an active internet connection. So are you trying to find him, the phone, or both?

Using the app, Find My iPhone, which you can download for free from the itunes app store, you can log into another person's icloud account with their ID and password and then try to track/find the device.

Hello ashbyy123,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
2. Check the USB cable
3. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
4. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
6. Check for third-party software conflicts
Have a nice day,

How do I send a contact from my contacts to someone else's iPhone?
I need to send contacts to someone else 's. iPhone. How do I do this?
Thanks,
KEWLaunch the Contacts application from your iPhone home screen.
Tap the name of the contact you want to share.
Tap the "Share Contact" button. A prompt opens.
Select "MMS." The iPhone's text messaging application loads with the contact card already inserted as the body of the message.
Tap the To field, then enter the number of the other iPhone.
Tap "Send". -
is there a way to download someone else's iphone pictures to my computer without interfering with my iphone itunes backup?
Ensure that your iTunes is set up so it will not sync automatically. Then you can connect the other iPhone to your computer and import the photos in the same manner that you import photos from your phone and/or a digital camera.

Yes.
Photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll can be imported by a computer as with any other digitial camera, which is completely separate from iTunes and does not involve iTunes.
I sync my iPhone with iTunes on my Mac and I sometimes import photos from my iPhone's Camera Roll with my Windows PC at work. -
Yesterday I ran into a problem that was eye opening to say the least. I could not not access my contacts in order to find a friend's phone number. No one remembers phone numbers any more. God knows I don't.
I was on a jetski and it broke down. I was stranded at a dock miles away. I needed to contact my friend to tell him (a) I'm ok, (b) where I was, (c) to bring a tow. Of course I had no phone on me because it would have gotten soaked.
People were kind enough on the dock to let me use their smart phones to attempt to retreive the phone number and call for help. But I quickly discovered that it is impossible.
On an iPhone, I tried to use their Safari browser to go to www.icloud.com. When you do that, it simply redirects you to the apps. But it isn't my phone, and their apps are logged in to the owner's accounts. I wasn't about to update the settings in a stranger's phone.
One guy let me try his iPad with Cellular. Same problem as the iphones. It would not let me use www.icloud.com. It insisted that I use the native iOS apps.
On an Android, www.icloud.com would simply refuse to work. It would say it was not supported.
The question I have is: How can I view my contacts from someone else's smart phone in an emergency situation?
Second question: Why can't I use www.icloud.com on a smart phone's web browser like I can on regular computer?
I got lucky. I happened to know my mom's home number. Many hours later she was home and I was able to use a phone to call her. She brought up www.icloud.com on her home computer, logged on as me, and read me the phone number I was seeking. But what are the chances of being able to call a trusted person who has access to a computer to do this for you?Without "pretending" to be yourself on the other phone (change settings) there's nothing else you can do.
iOS devices are meant to be single user and can't view iCloud.com the same way a Mac or PC can do.
You need to find a desktop or laptop machine (Mac or PC) to log in at iCloud. -
I Received an email on my ipad saying my iphone is disabled from icloud. I don't have an iphone. Does this mean someone else is connected to my icloud or ipad?
Hi Ceecee,
Find My iPhone is a generic term that is used for this feature regardless of whether it is turned on on an iPad or an iPhone.
If you deleted your iCloud account on your iPad, and have not signed back on to iCloud, then the Find My iPhone feature is turned off, and your device is not protected nor can it be tracked if it is stolen.
Sign back into iCloud on your iPad, and go to Settings>iCloud to turn Find My iPhone back on to remedy this situation, if you wish.
Cheers,
