Find the datasource behind a t-code/query

Hello,
I've a t-code that runs a query in R/3. It's Cost center plan/actual/stat. I need to get the tables that are linked to this query. I want to get the same data into BW and create the same query in it. Can anyone tell me, how to find the datasources in r/3 for that query?
thanks
Sam

Transaction code      Y_PRD_57000017
Package               Z001
Transaction text
Transaction        START_REPORT
Obsolete: Use default values for transaction
Screen             0
At the bottom of the screen:
Default values
D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE                      RW
D_SREPOVARI-REPORT                               Z001
Also when i look at the bottom of the screen in y_prd_57000017report, it gives me a name of a program: GP7V3E8P576KTCWVQYTQ1WWORHE026
do i have to look into this too? if so how?

I have researched quite a bit about this and haven't anything solid. Most of the discussions suggest to clear the .fsd file and let the whole app layer re installed.
I am hesitant to do that as this is happening for only one user and for particular app.

you can try to 'repair' the application: Ask the user to close all applications of that package, then use the App-V client MMC (sftcmc.msc) to locate the application entry. Right-click and 'repair'. This has to be done in the user's context/session

  • How to find the Datasource,ODS,InfoCube by a field of a R3 table

    Hey Folks!
I'm trying to find the Datasource,ODS,InfoCube by a field of a R3 table.
It means I want to get the Datasource,ODS,InfoCube which contain the field I wanted.
I did the following steps, Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    1. I use table RSOSFIELDMAP to get the related Datasource and infoobject by field I wanted.
    2. Then I use the infoobject of filed which I get from step1 to get the related ODS in the table RSDODSOIOBJ.
    3. I also use the infoobject filed which I get from step1 to get the related InfoCube in the table RSDCUBEIOBJ.
But I have concern about the way I search the ODS and InfoCube.
Could somebody help me on it?
    Thanks.

    Hi Ihdai,
    1) In step1  what you are doing is good...that table gives the mapping of the source fields in DataSources.
    2) One if you know the InfoObject Name....Open the InfoObject definition...
and click on the  "Multiple Arrow" button which gives "Where used list"...
That is a better way to get the list..
    3) You can use the tables also.

    Hi Govardhan,
The best place to start looking for the standard data source will be http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e3/e60138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm .
If you can not find anything, from the source table, find if the table is included in any of the structures/views for BW. Hope this helps.

  • Unable to find the Datasource

    Hi Gurus,
I'm working on HR module. In BI there is an infoobject 0AGE which can have only Hierarchy Master Data, but when I want to extract data for the respective Master Data from ECC 6.0, I couldn't locate the Datasource for that. Can you guyz help me with what could be the problem that I'm not able to find the Datasource for 0AGE.
(Note:- All the available Datasources for BI were successfully transfered in RSA5 and activated(RSA6) ).
    Waiting for Optimistic reply.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Syed Ali

    Hello,
InfoSource : Age in Years (Characteristic)
    Technical name: 0AGE
    Use
This InfoSource yields information on employeesu2019 age in years.
A hierarchy is defined for the characteristic 0AGE. You can define this hierarchy manually yourself or by using a CSV file.
You can define your own hierarchies (manually). You can determine intervals within the structure as required, for example, in five-year intervals (25 - 29 years, 30 - 34 years, etc.) Therefore, the age structure that you define yourself offers advantages over the fixed age structure of the Age Range characteristic (0AGE_RANGE).
For example, you can use the hierarchy to display the age structure of your enterprise as follows:
    < 20 x < 20
    20 - 24 20 £ x £ 24
    25 - 29 25 £ x £ 29
    30 - 34 30 £ x £ 34
    35 - 39 35 £ x £ 39
You can also upload the hierarchy using the CSV file delivered by SAP. To do so, proceed as follows:
In the Administrator Workbench, choose the Source system tab page.
Right click the top Source systems node and choose Create source system.
In the Select Source System Type dialog box, select File system, manual metadata, data using file interface.
In the Create Source System dialog box, enter AGE_File in the Source system field, and Age in Years in the Name of source system field. Confirm your entries.
    Choose the InfoSources tab page.
Right click the higher Master data in Personnel Administration node and choose Create InfoSource.
In the Create InfoSource: Select Type dialog box, select Master data / texts / hierarchies. Confirm your entry.
In the Create InfoSource (Master Data) dialog box, enter 0AGE in the InfoObject field. Confirm your entry.
Right click the lower Age in Years node and to choose Assign source system.
In the Master Data InfoSource: Assign Source System dialog box, enter AGE_File in the Source system field. Confirm your entry.
On the Maintain Metadata screen, choose Create hier. (create hierarchy).
In the Create Hierarchy - Name dialog box, enter AGE in the Hierarchy name field, Age in Years (Hierarchy) in the Long description field, and an X in the Sorted hierarchy and Interval fields. Confirm your entries.
Choose Save hier. (save hierarchy), followed by Save and Close.
Right click the lower Age in Years (Hierarchy) node and choose Create InfoPackage.
In the Create InfoPackage dialog box, enter a description as required in the Long description field. Confirm your entry.
On the Scheduler (Maintain InfoPackage) screen, choose the External data tab page.
In the Load external data from group box, select Application server. In the File type (if control file is switched off) group box, select CSV file.
In the File name field, enter AGE_D.CSV for German node texts and AGE_E.CSV for English node texts. Save your entries.
    Thanks

  • Possible to find the Table behind the form

My question is Is it possible for the DBA to find the table behind the form.
actually when i input the data from front end i want to know how can i found which table as updated.

behind the form.Form as in front-end GUI sort of thing? Most DBAs of my acquaintance wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry at such a request. Seeing as how it confirms all the prejudices at the cluelessness of developers.
The short answer is No. That's why we are supposed to document our applications. However, if you get a sympathetic DBA they might be prepared to track your session and find out what SQL you're issuing. It's then a question of co-ordinating your Form usage with what they see in the database.

  • Finding the "last node" in a hierarchical query?

I'm presented with an issue - find all parent records for which the "last node" in a hierarchy is not set to some value.
    Table structure:
    child_id number
    parent_id number
    type_id number
So, I need to find all parents whose eventual last "children" (could be several levels deep, it varies) do not have a type_id of 29.
I can find the hierarchy easily using connect by prior but I'm stuck on that "last node" bit. Any help out there?

    Post your code.
I'm not following the 2nd example. Where are you getting those values? This is a really large table, so if that is actual data ... that won't work.Since you did not post data sample, SBH cooked up one on-the-fly using subquery factoring clause - WITH. Below is example on existing table, so I don't need to use WITH:

  • How to find the datasource of an ODS which is not activated yet in Metadata

Through SAP Help, we find a useful ODS that we want to use to build up queries, but it's not easy to locate the Infosource and Datasource of it through the SAP Help.  I remember there is a functionality in the Metadata Repository that the data flow of an InfoCube or ODS can be shown there.  I get to the Metadata Repository and locate the ODS already, but can't find the functionality any more that can show the data flow of the ODS.   If I can see the data flow, then I think I can find the corresponding infosource and datasource of it.  Anyone's input is greatly appreciated!

    hello Bhanu,
From SAP Help, find the known Infosource help document, I copy part of the documentation below (see in between two dashed lines):
    Document History (Item Level)
    Technical name: 0BBP_DOC_ITM_1
Based on DataSource: Customer-specific name space, for example ZBBP_TD_DOC_I
The help uses the datasource name starting with Z, does it mean there is no datasource on R3 side that we need to manually create it?
    Thanks

    Hello experts,
I am activating the InfoCube 0CSAL_C01 from the Business Content. It gets data from 0SAL_DS01 ODS, that uses these three InfoSources:
    - 0CRM_INTER_REC_H
    - 0CRM_CONTACT_OUT
    - 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1
I have found the DataSource for the last two in my CRM system, but I cannot find any for '0CRM_INTER_REC_H'.
Does anybody know if I have to do anything special to get this datasource or how can I find it?
I am usin BW70 with Business Content Addon 703
    Thanks,

Hi dear and welcome on board!
What I see in help on line is that the ODS 0SAL_DS01 is "Based on InfoSource: Activities in Flat Structure for ODS (0CRM_SALES_ACT_1)" and not to the other ones you mention before...
