How do I find the max value of scrollV in AS3?
I used Ned's answer to get my 3 text fields scrolling together based on the value of one of them. Thanks Ned!
The other two text fields scroll to match the 'parent' text field, but at the end - as you reach the last scroll position - the other two do not update and the 3 text fields are out of alignment. Its just at the end of the scroll. The rest of the scroll values align. I'm thinking if I can find the max scrollV value, I can force the other two to scroll one last time when that value is reached by the 'parent' text field.Thanks Rob! I knew it must be something available somewhere. That should allow me to do the needed calculations. Awesome.

Moderator Message: Basic Post. Put some effort of your own first.
Edited by: kishan P on Dec 10, 2010 3:42 PMPretty straigth forward.
Just sort the internal table by site number descending. That way you know you always have the highest number in the first record for the site.
sort itab by site number descending.
loop at itab.
at new site.
itab2-site = itab-site.
itab2-number = itab-number.
append itab.
endat.
continue.
endloop. -
Hi team,
I have the following query where i need to find the max value
[code]
with t as (
select 'L1' R_nm ,'Data' R_Data , 'Obj' R_Obj , 'Wd' r_prec , '2' val from dual
union all
select 'L1' , 'Data', 'Obj' , 'No', '4' from dual
union all
select 'L2' , 'Data', 'Obj' , 'No', '4' from dual )
select t.*, max(val) over(partition by r_nm,r_data,r_obj) rk from t
[/code]
My expected output should be
[code]
r_nm r_data r_obj r_prec val rk
L1 Data Obj Wd 2 1
L1 Data Obj No 4 2
L2 Data Obj Yes 1 1
[/code]
Thank YouHi,
It looks like you're not interested in the MAX at all. It looks like you want to rank the rows, such that the one with the lowest value is assigned the number 1, the row with the 2nd lowest values gets 2, ..., and the row with the N-th lowest value gets N. If doesn't matter if the MAX is 4, or 2, or 420.
Here's one way to do that:
SELECT t.*
, RANK () OVER ( PARTITION BY r_nm, r_obj
ORDER BY val
) AS rk
FROM t
ORDER BY r_nm, r_obj
, val
Depending on how you want to deal with ties, you might want to use ROW_NUMBER or DENSE_RANK instead of RANK. -

Read Text row by row, plot them and find the max of its Power spectrum
Hi, everyone,
I have to read data from a text file, plot as a time serie and find the frequency to its max power spectrum. I found a previous post related to my issue so I revised his example a little bit. But once I decide to store the data into an array, the Labview reported:' Error 1 occurred at Scan From String (arg 1)'. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks in Advance!

Last edited by Inxsible (2011-03-27 04:40:49)I just checked my BIOS and my current setting is set at IDE although it also mentions that the default should be AHCI. Currently I have a dual boot of Windows 7 (need it for Tax software) and Arch
So I guess, when I get the new HDD, I will first set it to AHCI and then install the OSes on it. See if NCQ helps any, and if not I will turn it back and re-install (if I have to). I am planning to have Windows only in virtualbox in the new drive.
Anyhoo, while I was in the BIOS I found two things which I had questions about :
1) Under Onboard Devices --> Integrated NIC , my setting is currently set at "On w/PXE" and it says the default should be just "On". Would it be ok to change it back to On since its a single machine and its not booting an OS on any server. I just don't want to have to re-install anything now since I will be doing that in the new HDD.
2) How would I know whether my BIOS would support a 64 bit OS in Virtualbox? I checked some setting under Virtualization, but they weren't very clear.
I will edit this post and let you know exactly what settings were present under the Virtualization sub-section. -
Finding the max in a two dimensional array
I am writing a program and right now I am trying to print the maximum value of the items in the first row of the array. When I print out the result it is giving me is a crazy output that reads "D@3e25a5". Can someone please point me in the right direction?
import javax.swing.*;
public class Program {
public static double[] max(double[][] table){
double[]max = new double[4];
for(int col = 0; col < table.length;col++){
if(max[0] <table[0][col])
max[0] += table[0][col];
return max;
public static void main(String[] args) {
double[][] price = {
{650.25, 700.00, 567.75, 625.00, 620.00},//tuition
{210.50, 121.75, 275.00, 182.75,0.00},//Books
{20.00,30.00,40.00,50.00,60.00},//fees
{25.00,25.00,0.00,15.00,20.00}};//parking
String[] Names = {"Howard", "Paul", "Dawn", "Derek", "David"};
String[] expenses = {"Tuition", "Books", "Fees", "Parking"};
System.out.println(max(price));
}When you use the statement return max; then it returns the reference to the max, not the actual values thats why you have got the strange output. You can print the maximum values using a for loop in the same method max(), so no need to return a value.
public static void max(double[][] table){
double[] max = new double[4];
double max1;
for(int i = 0; i < 4; i++){
max1 = table[0];
for(int j=1; j<5; j++){
if(max1 < table[i][j]){
max1 = table[i][j];
max[i] = max1;
for(int i = 0; i < max.length; i++){
System.out.println(max[i]); -

How do I find the max number of sessions ever recorded?
Hi,
I see sessions_highwater column in v$license shows the max number of sessions since the database startup time, but I'm wondering if there is a view that shows the max number of sessions ever recorded? (i.e. before the last database restart)
Thanks!
JonYou can check the number of sessions from the below query using hist views. But you can only go back upto the retention policy setting.
SELECT res.snap_id, s.begin_interval_time, s.end_interval_time,
res.instance_number, res.resource_name, res.current_utilization,
res.max_utilization
FROM dba_hist_resource_limit res, dba_hist_snapshot s
WHERE s.snap_id = res.snap_id AND res.resource_name = 'sessions'
ORDER BY s.begin_interval_time, res.instance_number -
Where do I find the SUM & MAX functions under update rule, TYPE: FORMULA
Hi,
If I am setting up an update routine
TYPE: FORMULA
where do I find the function SUM ?
I need to take the sum of a particular key figure under certain condition with the statement:
IF( <condition>, <result when true>, <result when false> )
i.e.
IF( field1 > field2, Sum of Field3, Sum of Field3 )
I canu2019t seem to find the Sum function. I found +, -, / etc under Basic Functions. Even under all u201CAll functionsu201D, I only see u201Csummarizeu201D but not sum.
--Also where do I find the MAX and MIN functions if I want to use them in FORMULAS?
ThanksHi......
Its better you go for calculated keyfigure

Find the abs(max/min) value error.
Hi, SAP experts
Now I want to find the Abs(max) and Abs(min), (you know, for the displacement, if we want to find the max and min, we have to consider it both "+" and "-"), I use the code:
local numbervar i;
local currencyVar min;
local currencyVar max;
For i := 1 to GetNumRows-1 do
If i = 1 then
min := GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex);
max := GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex);
else
If Abs(GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex)) <= Abs(min) then
min := GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex);
If Abs(GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex)) >= Abs(max) then
max := GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex);
if CurrentFieldValue In [max, min] then
crBold
else
crRegular
But it seems not correct, why?Hi Hu,
See if this works:
local numbervar i;
local currencyVar min;
local currencyVar max;
For i := 1 to GetNumRows-1 do
If i = 1 then
min := GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex);
max := GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex);
else
If Abs(GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex)) <= Abs(min) then
min := Abs(GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex));
If Abs(GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex)) >= Abs(max) then
max := Abs(GridValueAt(i, CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex));
if Abs(CurrentFieldValue) In [max, min] then
crBold
else

Chnage colum from CLOB to Varchar2 and find the length of CLOB
Hi,
I have got tables contain CLOB fields. I want to converter them to varchar2? Is the a way to do it? how can I find the max of length the data in CLOB fields.
Thanks in advance!!
MichaelHi All,
Thanks you for your useful information. What I need is to change the colum data type (definaition itself)from CLOB to Varchar2, not just to display the values in CLOB field into varchar2. I have tried to change the date type from COLB to varchar2 in TOAD and got ORA_22859: invaliad modification of columns.
Any suggestions?
Many Thanks
Michael
