Find the microphone connection...

I want to find out whether the microphone is connected to the computer or not. If not ..should display a warning message.. How to do that?????
Any help would be appreciated....

from the Microphone API
If Microphone.getMicrophone() returns null, either the microphone is in use by another application, or there are no microphones installed on the system. To determine whether any microphones are installed, use Microphones.names.length

  • Can't find the printer connection on Satellite M40

Silly question but I can't find the printer connection on my satellite M40? There looks to be a place for it on the left hand side of the notebook - there is a little printer sign, but the actual socket is covered over - should I remove it? and how do I do it? Help!!

    Hello
As far as I know you can connect printer directly if you use USB port (newer printers). On the left side there are three ports:
    - RGB (Monitor) port
    - One USB port and
    - PC Card slot
I really do not understand where you have found printer sign there.

  • How do I find the current connections?

I've noticed that the disk doesn't always spin down after using my media player (OSMC on a Raspberry Pi) to access my My Cloud, and I'd like to debug this. First, I need to see if there's a persistent connection by checking the connection status at the My Cloud command line.  Googling tells me that you use the "smbstatus" command for this -- and there's my first stumbling block. That command is not present because it's in the "samba" package, which I am surprised to find is not installed by default.  # apt-cache policy samba
    samba:
    Installed: (none)
    Candidate: 2:4.1.17+dfsg-2
    Version table:
    2:4.1.17+dfsg-2 0
500 http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie/main armhf Packages I could install the "samba" package with "apt-get install samba". Is that safe to do on the My Cloud? The My Cloud is all about providing samba shares and yet the "samba" package is not installed. I was wondering if it was not installed for a reason. Installing it won't trash the My Cloud's normal services? Or is there a better way to find the current connections -- one that doesn't need the "smbstatus" command?

Hi and welcome to the WD community.
I have not tried this, lets see if another user can share some tips and information on this matter.

  • Can't find the harddrive connected to AirPort Extreme from NETGEAR EVA9100

    Hey all,
Like the subject sais... I have a setup in my appartment where I have a USB Harddrive connected to my AirPort Extreme. I put my media on that disk, and now I want to access these files from my new NETGEAR EVA9100 media streamer, but for some reason it can't find the harddrive in my network.. My MBP has no problems finding it, nor have any other computers. I have tried numerous ways of sharing the disk through the airport software, but for some reason it just won't work.
Does anyone have an idea what I need to do..?

If the hard disk shows up when it is connected directly to the base station, then I would try a different powered hub.
Otherwise, the hard disk drive may not be compatible, or perhaps it is incorrectly formatted as NTFS.

  • "Safari can't find the server" - connection issues under Lion

    Hi there,
Since upgrading to Lion, Safari has been displaying this odd and annoying behaviour, where, for some links to some web resources (like maybe 2 clicked links out of 10), it throws up a grey error page telling me it can't find the server (screenshot below):
Normally, this error would be evidience of an intenet connection issue (but it isn't). If I immediately try to find the same resource via another browser (Firefox or Chrome), those other browsers navigate to the site absolutely fine. Although, occasionally (though with less frequency) I'm also getting a similar "Can't find stuff" error with Chrome too.
In the Safari address bar (is this significant?) there isn't even a URL, but a file path to file:///Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources... what does that mean?
Hints from other threads would indicate that this is a Firewall issue, or maybe there's another third-party app causing problem, rather than a problem with Safari under Lion specifically.
But I'm really bugged and irrittate by this. Anyone had a similar experience? Anyone with any ideas? How might I go about finding out what's causing this and fixing it?
    Best wishes,

It's most likely a problem with corrupted files in the Safari Cache or corrupted cookies.
    Go to Safari menu bar
    Click on Safari
    Click "Empty Cache"
    Restart Safari
    If the problem persists...
    Go to Safari -> Preferences
    Go to privacy
    Click "Remove All Website Data"
    Restart Safari
    Cheers - Lupunus

  • How to find the server connected from multiple switched netwtwork

I have one server connected to distrubted switch or acces switch  in network .
They were 45 switches in netwrok and need help how to find that server  connected switch  from  Core switch ?
How many  mehtodes and process we can use to find that connected physical switch ?
    Thanks in advance !!!

It's a bit of a tedious process. but if you ping the IP address of the server from the core switch and then check the ARP entry to get its MAC address, you can then trace the address tables in the switches to find the switch that the server is physically connected to. Once you have the MAC address, you'll have to check the address table in each switch in the path between the core and the server to find it.

  • Using apple base station now, but the other 3 windows based computers couldn't find the printer connected to apple base station

When I am trying to add a new printer on my iMac, the search result will show:
    HP Photosmart C6200 series
and there is no problem to add this printer to the iMac.
But when I am trying to add a new printer on my other windows based computers, the search result will show nothing. So I shared the printer on my iMac, and the search result will show:
    HP Photosmart C6200 series @ XXXXX's iMac
and there is no problem to add this shared iMac printer to the windows based computers.
I just don't understand. Can anyone explain this to me?
    Thanks a lot.
    Karen

You and at least one other that I know of locally. All this happened after the latest Airport update.
Interestingly, last week, three of us who use Mac laptops were unceremoniously dumped from our small office network's wireless router (non-Apple). When we tried to reconnect it kept asking for a password - none of the PC users are having this problem - and I HATE that!! Before this we all connected immediately with no problems.
I'm still running my home-based Airport Extreme Base Station and Airport Express on a non-passworded network - the only way we can get online, still.
Hope Apple wakes up and realizes there are a few problems with this release.
    Rachel.

  • Hi i have hp pavilion DV 7 when i plug to tv i cant find the hdmi connection to my computer help

    hi
i i have hp pavilioondv 7-1428ca,when i bought this the hdmi worked in my tv but after format and then installed the window 7 now i have no sound when i plung my hdmi cable to tv,
even it not showing to my sound menu.please helpme how to fix this problem.
i went to control panel from there i also try but no luck

Desperate times call for desperate measures:
    System Preferences > Network > Ethernet > (Assist Me) > Assistant ...
... and set it up again, being sure to specify a new "Location". Do not keep the "Automatic" one, create a new one or accept the default (current date&time).
A "Location" is a basket of settings from all over the place that could influence how your network connection behaves. Thye were invented to collect together such stuff so that you could switch fro "Home" to "Work" to "StarBux" just by specifying the Location, and all the settings needed would be pulled together and applied at once.
Sometimes a stray setting gets included by accident, and a new setup eliminates that stray setting and it perks up and works afterward.

  • Business Component Browser cant find the Database Connection

    Hi all,
I created a project with JdevTP3, created a database connection, the entities from the tables and the view objects. I'm trying to test it with Business Component Browser and it always give me the message :
    (oracle.jbo.ConfigException) JBO-33003: Connection name <conn_name> not defined
I'm using a JDBC URL connection with a XE database. I've also tried with a IDE connection, copying it to the project. The same error.
I reinstalled the jdev and nothing. It seems to be a easy one but I'm new with JDeveloper.
    Tks.

    Hi,
yes, i have everything installed without spaces (C:\jdev11gtp3). I right-clicked the app module, it shows me the "select business components configuration" dialog where the JDBC URL connectio is and when i click connect it shows me the message :
    (oracle.jbo.ConfigException) JBO-33003: Connection name ORACLE_RSC not defined
If I click <stack> in the error windows it shows me :

  • Finding the clients connected to a server

    Hai Friends,
I am doing a project in grid computing. I have developed a socket program for the client and server side using java and multithreading.
I want to know the number of clirnts connected at a particular period of time and also the IP addresses of the client.
Can anyone please suggest us the code for doing that.

Create an object that describes each client. Something like:
    public class Client
        private Socket socket;
        private WhatEver whatEverDataYouNeed;
        ...whatever methods you need...
}When a client connects create one of those objects and store it in a suitable data structure, e.g. LinkedList. When a client disconnects remove from list.
There should be a method in Socket that gives you the IP address, see the javadoc for Socket.

  • IPad3 Where is the microphone feature?

Hello, I just got my new iPad3. Trying to use the dictaphone feature, I was unable to find the microphone logo on the keyboard. Is there any restriction for using this feature in Europe? or any option to activate in setting? Thanks a lot

    Dictation
On an iPad that supports dictation, you can dictate text instead of typing it on the onscreen keyboard. For example, you can dictate a message in Mail or a note in Notes. To use Dictation, iPad must be connected to the Internet.
Turn on Dictation: Go to, Settings > General > Keyboard > Dictation.
    Tap to begin dictation.
Dictate text: From the onscreen keyboard, tap , then dictate. When you finish, tap again. Add to a message: Tap again and continue dictating.
Enter punctuation: Say the punctuation mark.
Note: Dictation may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply.
