Finder disappears/not working after Yosemite update
Anyone else having issues with their finder freezing, yet other apps continue to work? This started happening a lot after the Yosemite update, and never happened before! And when I go and relaunch the finder through "force quit" the folders on my desktop disappear. This would last about ten minutes before finder starts working again. And I started noticing it happens when I open Safari, could that be part of it?
Anyone have a fix? or having the same issue?
Kind of annoying considering the amount spent on a 'high end' computer....
I have a mid-2012 macbook pro.
Thanks!

The power part of the USB seams to work since it will recharge my Striiv Touch but nothing shows up when you connect anything to the ports.
I have tried a number of things from rebooting, trying other usb devices that work on other systems with no problems but will not work on my Macbook Pro.

Itunes not working after Yosemite update
Hi folks, as for title.
I updated this morning to Yosemite OS X and everything was nice and dandy until I tried starting iTunes clicking on the icon in the dock..
Big surprise, nothing happens. Tried the usual stuff, permission repair, look into logs, re-install a fresh download all to no aval.
Clicking on the app doesn't get even a blip however, browsing into the .app bundle and clicking directly on the binary works.
Could anybody shed some light here?
Thanks and regards
/PI found another thread on the same that didn't appear when I first searched the forum.

Bootcamp not working after Yosemite update
Hi,
I have similar problem after updating to Yosemite, now I can't boot into windows. There is no Windows option at startup when holding on ALT button and in disk utility, it showed Mac OS X partition with disks greyed out. I updated to Yosemite on my 11 inch Mac air and Mac Pro with no problem, before I decided to update my sons iMac (which has his school work) and ran into this problem. I remembered I use a third party program called Paragon NTFS. Could this be the problem?
Please Help.Hi, thank you for your time.
I tried the simpler fix, and when rebooted, the windows partition showed up when hold on the ALT key, but when i tried to load it, it say "missing operating system".
In OSX, i can't see the bootcamp partition under Finder or on the desktop.
TestDisk did finish analysing the drive, but i accidentally quit the program before i could look into the files, so now running test disk again. However I did save the Testdisk log file before running it again. Here is the log file, if it is any help:

MacBook Pro Late 2011 Model - Does not work after Yosemite update
i recently updated my OS to Yosemite and had in problems for two days but yesterday it ceased to work in the middle of printing a document.
I need my laptop back up and running since I have school exams soon and vital information and files are in this laptop.
i Have never had a problem with the laptop before.
Issues that I have had
logging in takes at least 20 minutes
cannot progress further than that, desktop is blank and nothing loads, only the dock.
battery drains extremely fast
Safe boot does not even load
I've tried clearing that VRAM and the other one.
Cannot access anything at all
This is appalling and at the worst possible time. Please describe exactly what you're doing and what happens.

Good day Jaydeepsinh Gohil,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It seems like you are not able to make or receive FaceTime calls on your MacBook Air after updating OS X.
If so, I recommend starting with the troubleshooting tips in the "Troubleshooting FaceTime for Mac" section of this support article:
FaceTime for Mac: Troubleshooting FaceTime - Apple Support
The steps found here can help you make and receive FaceTime calls once again.
Sincerely,

Logitech Smart Hub not working after Yosemite update
I do like what I have explored of Yosemite thus far. That being said, my Mac Mini - XBMC entertainment center is less than perfect now. After the Yosemite upgrade, the Smart Hub will not operate correctly in XBMC. This is likely a specific issue in regards to the IR component of the Mac Mini. I understand that Apple has decided to nix the IR ports on their newest OS. That's ok by me, but I want to re-enable this capability for more than a few reasons. I am certainly no techie, but I am willing to enter a simple command line to remedy the situation. I do not know where to begin. It'd be very nice if this could be done via Automater if possible, or even Applescript. This breakage is much like hiring a skilled elephant to paint the house. The painting he does is second to none - but he wrecks everything else. This is what Yosemite has done here, unintentionally damaging my media environment. Can anyone with some skill minus the elephant analogy help me out here?
Same issue here with my iMac, want to use it also for XBMC and the Apple Remote.

HT1338 motion 4 will not work after yosemite upgrade
motion 4 will not work after yosemite upgrade
To be honest I do not use motion or any other compositing app so i do not miss it personally. However the new Motion is not that expensive, around $60 i think. Still, I understand your frustration.
I am afraid the more the OS is updated the less compatible certain applications will become.
Good Luck

Mic Jack not working after Driver Update, Console unavailable, can't install
LMic Jack not working after Driver Update, Console unavailable, can't install? I've had nothing but problems after downloading the latest updates via the auto-updater.
I'm currently using the Creative SB X-Fi Pro Series card. I've had it for close to 6 months and have not had any issues until I ran the auto-updater last night, and while it downloaded over 250Mb of updates, all of them failed to install as described below.
I'm running on Windows Vista Ultimate, 64-bit
My main issue is the fact that my microphone is no longer working. I've done a lot of searching and I think the problem has to do with flexijack not being a microphone jack, but instead is an 'in-line' jack. I can no longer find my audio control console, which allows me to switch between gaming and entertainment modes, ect. The solution I found on the KB says that you can switch the blue jack on the back of the card from an in-line jack to a mic jack within the Audio console. I tried downloading it, but while going through the install, I get an error saying the files could not be found and a prompt which asks for a disk or file location. The same thing pretty much happens with all of the items I attempted to download and install.
I was able to run console fine, as well as use my mic yesterday before I attempted any updates. I attempted the updates because since I've had the card, I've had issues where after I exit a game, all my sound will become crackly and static. Before, I would simply open up the console and switch back-and-forth from gaming to entertainment, which would fix the problem most of the time. If that didn't work, a restart would fix it, but now I've opened up a whole new set of issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I also want to say that the support tickets should not require a serial number to submit a new ticket. My product is registered, so I got rid of the box which contains all that information, leaving me at the mercy of these boards...Hello all. Fisrt of all, this are my specs: Yoga 2 pro 13". WiFi card: Intel(R)Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. I bought it from Best Buy on November 27, 2014. If you aquired your Yoga before this date, you may have the single band WiFi card. As many of you have experienced, I also had a bunch of issues with my WiFi connectivity and this is how I was able to solve it. At least it has been a couple of days that I haven't had any issues. The first symptom was the usual connection drops every X amount of time. For me it was about every 2 hours. I first unchecked the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option in the Power Management tab of device manager and disabled U-APSD support in the Advanced tab of device manager. This action did not solve the problem. I then downloaded and updated the driver from the Intel web site (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect) and this seemed to solve the drops; however, a new problem arised: Everytime my Yoga would wake up from sleeping mode, all my wifi networks were gone and the adapter showed as disabled in Device Manager. I would have to anable it to have my networks back. It was a solution but a pain the butt to have to do this everytime. After hours of reading post after post in several forums, I read a repy from Lenovo asking to try leaving the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" CHECKED if you were using the latest version of the driver. I went back to device manager and checked it back and that seems to have solved the problem. So far I haven't had any drops and everytime my laptop comes back from sleeping mode the WFi connection is still there! Here is a recap of how everything ended up: -The driver version I installed is 17.1.0.19-The driver date is 7/21/2014-In device manager|Advanced, U-APSD support is Disbled.-In device manager|Power Management, "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is checked. Hope this helps somebody else.
